what's up everyone you're listening to vibe check with me dawoofi and we got a heater of an episode today with tim and mac of kiwi news they originally came on to talk about their writing contest that's going on right now farcaster '20 '20 '6 has a 2 eth prize pool in collaboration with purple but i'm not gonna lie it definitely gets a little bit old man yelling at cloud in here however if you are interested in aesthetics of tribes farcaster as a go to market tool don't be evil versus can't be evil status there's definitely something that's in here that's gonna be interesting for you to chew on and hopefully make you think a little bit about where you'd like the farcaster network to go and how you can influence it directly so i hope you enjoy listening to it as much as i enjoy talking to them and without further ado here's vibecheck with tim and mac of kiwi news

1:05Speaker 0

let's do this real quick we're in with vibecheck with tim and mac and we're talking a little bit about the origin of vibecheck but yes tim to your point i i i felt like the culture had changed and then i felt like it was getting kind of boring for me but now now it's just sort of taking the temperature on things that i'm less aware of so when mac asked me to say hey can we can we talk about the writing contest my immediate reaction was why the fuck isn't this on my feed like how how can we sell too many shit coins and not enough interesting projects and and that's the genesis of it but it's really good to have you guys here

1:48Speaker 1

and that's pretty crazy when you think about it because this post had like i don't know hundred likes 50 recasts from all the big accounts all friends that we are friends with you know like now and if or ted you know cameron and so on so like i really think that feed is fucked up lately i don't know what's going on i don't know what's the reason i'm not a feed engineer but something just doesn't work

2:14Speaker 2

wait didn't i sorry i was lurking on dan romero's profile and he said the feed was better now like just last week i i by the way i'm i'm not using it on on the mobile app or anything so i i really can't tell but that was the that was what i read

2:29Speaker 0

well i i think and i talked to dan about this briefly and i've been sort of i've been being pretty agro about i think farcaster as an economy is a really shit narrative it's just really you just attract the wrong people for the wrong reasons and then you fuck up your ooda loops because you think you have retention but it's just speculation and then when the money leaves and the alpha's gone i was talking also with chinmay about this it's like all you realize you've done is attracted a bunch of people who thought they were high status they're not the alpha leaves and then they leave and you're left with a product that you built for people that don't actually care about your product so i think this is yeah you

3:05Speaker 2

know what but like this this this is like a problem that plagues the crypto space in general and the the issue is that it's like it's just this this like lack of purpose and meaning everywhere because because as soon as you start to like dedicate your entire mission or everything like towards the number go up thing or like here you can speculate a little bit better than somewhere else i mean the i mean have you ever seen for example like airline loyalty points people like bonding as a group to for like to to get like a a political policy implemented about something they truly care like they don't they don't give a shit like they they just want to be in first class like everyone individually and like the and i think it's kind of the same with like bald apes or like crypto where it's all just like the self referential thing of like of of not of not truly like pursuing somehow in essence right like if you have political movements or anything like the the privacy now group in ethereum for example like if you if you actually like i'm not i'm not a privacy maxi but if you go to this conference it's like it's a very aesthetic thing like people really it's like this black background kind of banners like you know they're like very edgy people there like hot people whatever like it's it's just like you can see it's like the people are actually it's an aesthetic movement because and that's not because like it's it's not because number go up like people go there because they actually like they want to achieve something that improves their life kinda like they they there's like they probably all come from like a deep like diverse backgrounds and they try to like implement this so i think when you have this kind of we just wanna get rich or something or we just wanna i think there's also kind of this idea of like we let's just like further the idea of crypto and then it just becomes like let's make number go up i think you you get like really you get really ugly stuff like like for example the i think bored ape is such a great example of that i don't i don't

5:10Speaker 0

know too much about bored ape but i do think you're touching on something here that's really important the the nature of speculation in crypto is also very pvp right it's very much like you're just trying if you're speculating you're trying to dump on someone else you're trying to get in before someone else and then have someone else after you buy your shit right and i don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that i think these markets are good to find fair market values of things i think these are very helpful tools for certain for certain products and certain use cases but but i think you have to be intellectually honest that like if barcaster is a place where there's alpha where you made money because you were there the moment you stop making money because you realize everyone's dumping on you because there's a new group chat somewhere else then it all goes away immediately

5:53Speaker 1

this is exactly what happened to me like you know i i kind of felt like some of people were my friends and then i wasn't invited to their group chats and then they dumped on me and i i like because of this economic layer that wasn't present before i just felt kind of like i wouldn't say you know that i felt betrayed because this is like too big word and i and like it's just money but i felt like well this is not what i signed up for and you know like yeah that that that was yeah

6:24Speaker 2

i i i understand that as a sentiment i also think actually in the crypto space we have this like unique challenge of like money being transparently like your finances are basically accessible to me and like everybody's finances are accessible to me like they are like forecast of people that i know in person that like are trading with like 5 figure meme coin stuff and i'm just like i meet them in person i'm like fuck it like you are so crazy and and and like i don't know like you know like why do you like you you shouldn't blame yourself actually for having these like intrusive thoughts when you meet them and like in the background there's like there's like what like this is the guy that is like trading 5 figure meme meme coin meme coins or whatever like the the fact is that the situation is so crazy that you can have access to this information and then i think we're not we're kind of like not built as humans to understand that there's like a human and then also there's like this number and somehow we have to combine the two things and and make sense of it that like you know like what is our self worth and what is their self what what is like what what are they worth obviously it shouldn't be purely connected to the numbers or whatever but it's like very strange and i think we've never actually been in such a situation because everything has been private up up until now right this like financial stuff

7:43Speaker 1

yeah yeah yeah it just kind of feels like instagram you know when we started having social media if you had friends who were traveling a lot and having like cool lifestyle you could actually see it like i mean like there are pictures videos and so on and then like that was so weird because like i remember when i was i had my facebook account i think in 02/2009 and i was just like seeing all these friends doing cool stuff and encrypted it's the same i see these friends making million dollars of meme coins and of course i don't see the ones making like you know wiping out their account because

8:19Speaker 2

i i think in crypto it's probably even worse because actually in at least on instagram i think it's still fake stuff so there's always like the plausible i guess how how how would you say like it it like you can always discredit somebody or even like personally you can just say oh like he must be like faking it or whatever he's just like flexing but i think with like meme coin trading for example i mean this is just like if you're just having like a billion a a million dollars on your account and you're like just dumping it into meme coins i think there's no like you can't deny that anymore right like it's it's not something you can just obtain like i could totally rent a an airbnb for one day in in florida or like throw like a big party or whatever and like pretend to be some guy i think isn't there a damn guy that does that for example but i i don't think you can't really do that with like unless you have the money in crypto i i don't think you can pretend to do that actually yeah that that's a

9:11Speaker 1

good point and like one of the reasons you you know that we feel like it's like of this contest is like okay we kind of like saw that forecaster needs like this refreshment when it comes to you know us thinking about how to make it better and we we we saw this like post by dan romero we spoke with chris carrella from purple like some other people and the idea was to you know create a writing contest called farcaster twenty twenty six and it's 2026 because we want to focus on things that farcaster can do well this year not like you know oh in 2047 you know when you will be in vr and everything will be z k and robots like we don't want sci fi we want things that can be done this year to actually make farcaster better and the concept is about you know having like 2 eth prize pool and having writers to compete with their ideas there are a few prompts out there and yeah and then like all thing happens on kiwi which by the way you know today i was looking for something and i found it me and tim like we met on farcaster and it was almost two years ago and i and it all happens on kiwi because on kiwi you know we've been very focused on curating best content for a long long time and when we started there were like maybe paragraph and launchcaster i think from farcaster project and you saw all the waves you know there were like bots there were moments when everyone was saying oh if you don't have farcaster bot you won't be relevant and then there was like oh you need to have a frame and then oh you need to have a meme coin and you need to have like rounds wtf for your channel because otherwise it won't work there were like so many waves and we saw them

11:11Speaker 2

but but but you you know what i think is actually the what what would be the the the good essence of forecast i feel like is the kind of if they if they really double down somehow on their i don't know or like the the sentiment of like the californian builder person but i think they would have to somehow differentiate themselves like bit more from x like like clearly like clearly somehow dan he's he's not really opposed to him somehow like it's like like like why would you i don't know like for example you can join blue sky with a if if you're really against elon you join blue sky and like like it's it's good like right like you you've done your you've you've basically done the the political work to distance yourself from elon or whatever and you're like with your group of people there i think if you're but what do you do if i i don't know like there used to be this case where people said in silicon valley we don't we don't like talk bad about our competitors because it makes you seem weak and i almost feel like now that's like for dan at least or for the forecast team it's like almost a bad position because like what puts you what makes you different from x if it's not if it's not standing in opposition to elon because actually elon also for example implement implements like community notes like he really tries to make the the place like like very new like neutral and like like clean in the sense of like a crypto crypto enthusiast like trustworthy and so on right and despite him being like a bad character i think which is also something that like crypto people also kind of like crypto people don't want you know don't don't be evil they want can't be evil and like and and i almost feel like if you're i don't know yeah as you said like if you're tapping too much into the casino thing and you say like okay like we're we're with like web three enabled apps where you can you can you can pull on the the one armed bandit i think it it's like it's devoid of meaning and then if you if you kind of formulate a vision that is more towards we're like upgrading twitter right like we're like building a better system where like not one person i mean just the thing like not one person can be in charge of the thing like that would be already interesting i guess it it collides kinda with the with the blue sky mission a little bit or something

13:45Speaker 0

yeah yeah i think so i mean i it's funny the the narrative side this is like this is my shit right this is what i think about a lot and i do agree that like you shouldn't talk bad about your competitors because i do think it looks weak and i do think that like

13:59Speaker 2

but but but like elon just talked so much shit about sam altman

14:05Speaker 0

so there's yes he looks weak

14:07Speaker 2

i don't know

14:08Speaker 0

there's there's well there's elon's personal brand and then there's twitter right like it would be weird if twitter account or like the twitter like whatever people did this thing but then elon has his own brand that's sort of like a maverick and like says what he wants type type branding right which is like i don't think that's exactly dan i don't think he should mimic him but like but i think there's something here that you're touching on that's really important which is like to have sort of an in group you have to by definition have an out group too right like you you don't never feel like you belong somewhere unless you feel like you don't belong the other place and i think you can accomplish that without being like your shit sucks right like there's there's ways to accomplish that

14:43Speaker 2

okay

14:43Speaker 0

i think this guy it's like twitter sucks and and i i think that's hampering them probably but it's but i feel you

14:50Speaker 2

yeah but where do you where do you see the different where where do you see the like the people that are on forecast why are they why do they have to be on forecast and why can't they be on x like

15:02Speaker 0

so i think the the initial group for sure and this is i've talked to dan about a lot about this too is it was very much a place where you acquire status like maybe not the same follower account but for me and i think a lot of people i talk to like a lot of my moments were like holy shit like mark andreessen follows me right like these are like the weird things i know

15:22Speaker 2

okay i i get that but like the but the thing is like that's the that's the airline miles thing right like acquire status like i i can fly a lot with like an airline and then i also there's

15:32Speaker 0

different types of status don't be don't be fooled by like airlines calling it status they're afraid the larpa status right like but real status is like sort of transferable like you can sort of feel it when you meet someone or talk to someone else versus what they call status which is just like they're helping you

15:48Speaker 2

with i get but but but but for example what like that group of people like okay then let's let me phrase the question differently if if you want to get status in that from that group of people what is that group of people what do they stand for and why can't they be on x for example and i and and like what i'm saying here is that there there's probably actually a good answer to this like there's an essence of what keeps these people together on forecast and why they're not moving facts so the and but i i just think that nobody has formulated what it actually is right

16:23Speaker 0

why do i i i can tell you like my tim's pod this is tim's podcast i mean i can tell you why

16:30Speaker 1

i joined farcaster in the first place and my like it solves my need like very efficiently and that's why i got hooked right away and my problem was that i was very into crypto but i couldn't find people to talk about crypto like if you if i spoke about x i got zero responses maybe one like two likes whatever even if i got responses they were like some low quality low effort things and i remember when i started posting on a forecaster i posted something and i got this like thoughtful response from some smart person and then we started debating and i was like okay like this is interesting

17:08Speaker 2

again sorry what what what's the difference between that and getting a better seat on an airplane i i think the you you don't you're not you're not the status thing is only useful in order to further your kind of to to to further your position in the social group what is the social group trying to achieve

17:27Speaker 1

i mean like i wasn't looking that much for status i was more looking for people to chat with about crypto because i wanted to learn and like if i went to discord it was like all these discords were like scattered and like you had to have an nft to get in and almost all of them were that ish back then and right now the the reason why i don't open farcaster that often is because i have a lot of group chats i'm in i of course use kiwi as well so like i feel my need for high quality conversation is totally satisfied outside farcaster so the need that i came in for is not satisfied with farcaster because you don't see my shit right like you don't see my post even so how can you even comment

18:17Speaker 2

i i i think i think these people must must be somehow connected to a a a dissatisfaction with x no as you also say like basically what you said what you're saying is that you came there because nobody saw your shit on x and if you think about it back then i think this was also pre elon acquisition right where there was like a lot of spam a lot of spam on what it was called like it was called twitter back then twitter and like you you just didn't get through you just didn't get through replies and anything so like i think if i remember correctly i also joined farqas actually because i didn't get through on replies through like like to vitalik or or whoever and like that was actually the like when i joined farqas i was like oh shit like i'm actually now speaking to the crypto community right and like so the the the the the the kind of purpose of joining the group and getting the social status was that we wanted to be filled like higher up in the hierarchy of the of the crypto people and i think now the the kind of weird thing is that twitter is fixed like the the the spam replies are not there anymore right i i i mean well i i

19:27Speaker 0

i think you have an interesting point here but i also think there's like sort of a natural transition where you you show up for like one reason and then you just come for something other which i don't really love that framing but let's let's use you guys as an example right you sort of came because you were unhappy with twitter you found some space you found some following i think we can be honest that all three of us have some status on farcaster now and then what do you do with with the writing context like you have this idea and immediately you go to criscarella at purple to get grants you go to barcassa for distribution and i think this is this is sort of my theory at least why i i told dan in that thread that like you know sort of build your own community or build your own co byoc or like own your audience is is a very compelling narrative to a certain class of individual right if you are sort of on the intellectual side of things let's say like you're you're less you're less shit posty if you can't get through on twitter you wanna reach a crypto audience because the wallet is somehow helpful or you believe in it politically i i won't speak to exactly why the crypto audience is useful but there's a lot of reasons it could be helpful right then you have this idea and farcaster is now your main method of distribution and sure today maybe deplatforming doesn't feel so so risky but even the idea that that you're you sort of feel unstoppable in a sense right it gives you a very different emotional connection to with your go to market as a builder and i think this is really the closest thing farcaster has to pmf because you guys are building kiwi right i i would guess that you still get a lot of traffic from farcaster in one way or another when you launch something new like you probably still go post it and and this is sort of the new status that unlocks value for you guys at least this is how i perceive it from the outside

21:07Speaker 1

yes so i i i would say that this is true theoretically but in practice i don't think it's true because in practice 95% of traffic or i don't know how much but like most is on is on warpcast so when changed the algorithm people stopped seeing my stuff and well it doesn't matter that i own my audience if i cannot reach it it's it's like you know as if i knew the email addresses of people but warfcast owns the email provider so i like it it doesn't matter because

21:41Speaker 0

okay but we are talking about like mail right but we're talking about like we're talking about like what's the word i'm looking for not grades but like we're talking about like efficacy more than like the idea now right because i do believe that broadcaster has a lot of work especially warpedcast in terms of being able to access that status in a valuable way for builders right like i think there's a lot of work there left to do yeah and and i hope that dan goes that direction as opposed to the speculation direction because even the wallets in the economy thing should be extremely helpful to you guys in a way that tighter can never be

22:15Speaker 2

i i actually think i actually think over embracing this kind of like we're gonna from dan's perspective like we're gonna stream you those like daily active users that is like kinda dumb because like the that i i don't know like that makes that attracts like a very certain like a very specific kind of builder that just wants to be like they like diffuse a stream to them and it's like you can see these types of people on forecast so they're like they it it's like the same thing like the number go up kinda thing like no no no potentially not that much like into purpose kinda

22:54Speaker 0

i well i think there's there's two things there's there's a couple of things going on here the first one is forecasting doesn't really have scale yet not the way an instagram or or facebook or or or tiktok has scale yet right so that's one thing but i think and i talked to a lot of builders about their like go to market strategy and i'm like constantly reminding people that like your one to 10 shouldn't scale right your one to 10 needs to be like your champions people who you think are your target audience that are giving you the feedback that like i would love this feature and like you don't need to have it figured out exactly how it works yet i'm willing to like work with you and i still

23:30Speaker 2

think you you you know what what would make sense for them to kind of like double down on a bit more it's like the sentiment that he had in the beginning when he quit coinbase he had this like blog post where he said he's like this pragmatic crypto builder i think something like this he had this like on the nakamoto's page and he was like at coinbase we didn't give a shit about like letting people store their crypto on the account even though the maximalists were kind of like very unhappy like crypto maximalists were kind of very unhappy with it because not your coins not your not your keys not your coins and so on but like that's the kind of reforming the like elder millennial crypto space that is like just you know i don't know using their firefox metamask browser to like trade on uniswap like this this is the kind of group that we kind of need to reform within ethereum and and but like it would be like an aesthetic movement for where where dan is like hey like we need to actually ship useful stuff for consumers i'm like heading this movement here and like we we are basically banning all the bullshit from ethereum and we're like going to give you like better tools you know for building on ether basically i i i feel like that would attract more builders and that would like create this kind of like deeper sense and purpose then then then i think the the we're we're just like gonna take care of you kind of like in the in the apple sense you know be because i think then then would be on kind of a a a confrontation calls i think with a lot of the ethereum ecosystem and people would have to make up their minds they would have to be like do i do i go in the direction of like meb researchers ethereum foundation people that are all just like dumping their euroacademic research websites like into the internet without like caring about mobile experiences or do i go into the direction of dan romero who has a working app huge audience and like he has this kind of like i don't know like dictatorial

25:44Speaker 2

capability of just like filtering out all the ugliness kind of from the ecosystem because i feel like like that's what we have to do like we have like there's so much like the fact that we had like bald apes and like people make millions of dollars with this like this is this is a it's it's like a an aesthetic race like like this has it it has like set us our our space back like we need somebody to to stop it well i

26:12Speaker 0

think i think he's doing a little of that by like showing not telling and building a consumer app that's like easy to go on at least that's what he's trying to do

26:18Speaker 2

and it yeah that's part of it

26:20Speaker 0

yeah but the other thing that i think is like important to remember is like and i think he said this a lot it's like there's the aesthetics and there's standing for something and stuff like that but like what's if he wants like great builders to come and like what's the thing he can give that you can't get anyone else i still think today the strongest case for farcaster if i was gonna tell someone to sign up is like if you want 10 customers to get on your product and they can connect their wallet to it because that's an important part of your product i don't think there's anywhere better to do it than farcaster i think it is still the number one

26:53Speaker 2

dan dan should be dan should dan should just be against connecting wallets because like like it's just such bad ux like he also knows it

27:01Speaker 0

what was that

27:02Speaker 2

like it should just be like this is garbage like we need we clearly need something better right like i i think i think like he could he he would have like the the power to to to get it done kinda and so and he would also be able to execute on it i imagine

27:16Speaker 0

well they did i was watching gm barcaster this morning shout out gm barcaster for giving me a platform to publish on i think it was matthew maybe someone else noticed that in one of the screenshots there's a little wallet button now and i know privy got some sort of deal so i am with you that wallet ux is fucking trash and like it is insane that anyone thinks that like we're gonna onboard a billion people with a fucking extension where you can lose all your money if you click on the wrong link like this is absolutely fucking stupid but i think we're headed i think he i think he is headed in that direction for whatever it's i think these things

27:48Speaker 2

take place i i think he's headed in that direction but i think he just has to like he just has to

27:52Speaker 0

he wanted to hammer it more

27:53Speaker 2

yeah he just has to be like the old dan romero like just like a big fuck you to everybody that doesn't do it yeah

27:59Speaker 1

you're your own clients you know kind of dan romero your old school and

28:03Speaker 2

and you know like this would this would also positive i i think like with everything that we've seen with with like solana ethereum kind of battle going on and like all the shit posting on twitter honestly i think a little bit of competition of that like competition between like farcast and ethereum wallets i think this will have like a very positive impact because i think if farcast is just like taking over all the wallet services and

28:32Speaker 2

deals flow go through go through like farcast i think they will have to innovate and then and then we will start seeing movements because at the moment there is like a wallet debt dilemma because wallets they are not making any money on connecting your debt like metamask in 02/2004 in like one year they made like like $200,000,000 or something in revenue from in app app wallet swaps they don't fucking care about connecting your wallet they will say yeah of course like we are doing everything possible to make wallet connections better and then they're basically like laughing their asses off because they are making so much money and they're like on some like beautiful island not caring about any of this stuff like they need to be completed away in in in some way you know

29:20Speaker 0

i i think we're headed in the right direction i believe you i think all of us at least on this stream i can say confidently that like we we see a better future in our heads like that's one of the things that i think we all get along for and then we get cranky that it's not here today right but but we i i try to keep these tight i'd be very remiss if we didn't spend some time at least digging in a little bit more to the writing contest we could talk about kiwi news too and if they connect i'd love to hear about how they connect but it's my job to be the go to market guy and if we spend the whole time talking about bullshit and we don't talk about the the thing that has a call to action for anyone really i right like anyone can write this is is sort of my understanding this is not just you have to be a a programmer or something which i guess i don't know because i can't cope

30:04Speaker 1

you can also write by the way

30:05Speaker 0

and i think well i can't write i'm terrible at writing but theoretically there's a world where i can write well

30:11Speaker 1

yeah yeah like everyone can yeah

30:14Speaker 0

tell me more about the the writing contest

30:16Speaker 1

okay yeah so first of all like kiwi for those who don't know is a place where community curates links so this is where everyone can if they hold a kiwi pass which now is free they can submit the link and these links get upvoted kind of like reddit or hacker news if you're familiar with and it's focused on ethereum but i i say like broader ethereum ecosystems so things about decentralization privacy sometimes politics if they impact you know crypto in general as well we have a lot of content created by the community it's like news essays blog posts dashboards github repos and so on and this is key also are links as well yeah there's some banger cast we can also see it there so this is one thing and the other thing that we've been doing on top of kiwi is for writing contest so we did writing contest with gnosis we did with lens with nouns and now we do one with purple and for forecaster and the goal of this contest is to come up with ideas how to make forecaster great again or maybe make it actually amazing for the first time and i i i can actually even like read some of the prompts because we let's do it

31:40Speaker 2

podcast is first

31:42Speaker 1

yeah so like first prompt is like what updates tweaks or features farfaster clients do to become better for ogs and newcomers so this one is focused on clients if you use farfaster client whether it's warfcast supercast you know or herocast or whatever you can come up with ideas the other is which farcaster frontier agents games mini apps out clients meme coins has the highest potential to grow the ecosystem if you listen to this conversation you probably know that we don't think meme coins are the the way

32:23Speaker 1

but you know maybe someone can make a good case for it who knows and the other is how can cryptosocial legos create experiences that we can't have in web two because at the end of the day this is what we are here for like if we have the same thing on as on twitter why would you even move right another one is how can forecaster amp up its marketing growth activities to bring more users so if someone has ideas for like like this video that i saw on about i think her name is afrochik yeah so so the way she onboarded people to base with this like oh do you want $10 or do you want some like secret gift and then she was giving people like 50 usdc on base that that was for example like very interesting idea and and and the last thing which we kind of spoke about here is how can a forecaster go big without losing its soul because this is hard things to do and there could be some idea so we have these five prompts

33:29Speaker 2

classic classic cautionary principle quite overdetermined question like like like assuming it will lose its soul when it's going big but it's actually it's not gone big but it already lost its soul just kidding yeah but i think no but i think to summarize kind of the contest i think the we yeah i mean as similar to how we had this conversation just now in the podcast i think we'd love to just get get like people's we'd love to get like people's hot takes out of them kind of and i really think i i really think if you put something into writing and like you put it on your blog post and you like you really stand behind it and i think there are like lots of forecasts to people who really have like a good understanding of why they're there and like where they think this thing should be going then i feel like the the seniors that is being created from everybody publishing their thoughts i think is really like this is gonna be very meaningful and like it's gonna reach a lot of people a lot of people are going to talk about it and like i even though we don't control the what is actually going to be done or written or implemented on forecast i think this everybody's contribution i think is gonna have a huge impact on what ends up what forecast ends up being in like one or two years i think

34:46Speaker 0

i i couldn't agree more i think that this is how it all sort of started in the beginning people contributing their ideas i i love a good reward i i think this is a great use of like purple funds to sort of spur spur conversation i know adrian's gonna be really happy that you use the word seniors in my stream or my my podcast she's gonna she's have a big smile on her face we're we're running up on time i wanna be cognizant of yours as well as the listeners most importantly what are the dates what's the submission dates where where do we go i'll drop some links obviously but i think it's good to say it out loud like what is the actual thing that people should go do to get involved with this before before it all wraps up

35:25Speaker 1

yeah so you need to pick a prompt one of the five that you that i mentioned you can see them on the website that will be linked to this podcast i will send you the link later and this is number one the second you need to write you can write anywhere you can write on farcaster paragraph x zorab your blog post wherever you want and then you submit a link to kiwi and then you just take part in the competition and the deadline is february 10 so there there's like yeah eleven days from today so it's still quite a lot of time and yeah like we are happy to listen to your thoughts

36:09Speaker 2

and and then just i think for people to understand kind of how you win the prizes is basically you need to gather like upvotes these are kind of like likes so like you can just upvote a a a a blog post and we have it limited so like people who have at least five kiwi karma can upvote or they have like a nena score greater than i think point nine or something so like they're basically a non spammy forecast or user or they hold a prop they have like they bought a purple nft i think before the contest started and these people are eligible to vote so like i think it's also important to understand this kind of act that if you if you really wanna win i think you you gotta consider that

36:57Speaker 1

yeah because we try something yeah that will be appreciated by pretty like sophisticated people who understand forecaster well so if you do like copy paste ai stuff and your friends will upload it then it won't work

37:13Speaker 2

yes

37:14Speaker 0

i love it that's all awesome stuff so even if yeah i guess to everyone listening even if you're not a writer probably a great idea to go read some of these i think probably most of my listeners cross that name r score so you're probably eligible to vote or if you have a purple token or qut pass you probably are eligible to vote if you're listening to this and go read some stuff and even if you don't have the time to write this is me very frequently i'll remember to go and give up votes to the things that i think are worthwhile i like that's one very sort of small way you could probably get involved so guys thank you so much for coming on any final words before we wrap this one

37:51Speaker 2

up nope not for me

37:53Speaker 0

i would say i said enough

37:55Speaker 2

i said everything i wanted to

37:58Speaker 1

i would say what i enjoyed is like i felt like very old school forecaster vibes speaking with you today

38:05Speaker 2

yeah that's true yeah

38:06Speaker 1

it felt like then i've met

38:08Speaker 2

you in person after so many so many maybe one last thing actually the like maybe like some closing thoughts on like the forecast one of the i think one of the best forecast divisions also was like this url to irl pipeline thing and i feel like i i i think this was like a really good idea and i think it it kind of like it it's aligned with what i've said about like you have to kind of create this like meaning for the community to form and then there's like aesthetic beauty kind of arising from it i think the the challenge that the forecast community has if they really wanna go with that vision is that twitter as a medium is very tough to to kind of like do that because the as dan also says twitter is like a blood sport and so like it lives from the drama kind of and at the same time like for example i also been active on forecast and then i met people at ifthen or whatever like i had like good conversations with some people and then like half a year later i had a fight with them on farcaster and i almost feel like you can't really avoid that if you're like if you're in either situations like if you're in a social irl situation obviously your the like the body the human body kinda like optimizes to to kind of get along with everybody like you don't want to fight each other or like kill each other and then on the internet it's the exact difference because like i like there's like somewhere somewhere in california somebody in europe so obviously like i don't care and and like it's it's about like who's right or whatever so like i kinda feel like maybe this is also the fundamental challenge because i think like the url to irl thing is definitely what people want and then the execution challenge that people have is that you have to kind of you have to do this like extreme self censoring on forecast to to to allow yourself to be in in the pipeline because like for for me for example i didn't want to self censor and i almost feel like awkward going to like the irl events because like i have like i have beef with everybody or whatever like that so so i think this is like this is probably something you wanna figure out i feel like and and i don't know i

40:31Speaker 0

think it well i think it was a very friendly beef that we had today so i i appreciate that i do think it was old school energy a little bit which which has given me a lot of a lot of high vibration happening on my friday recording here but i'll do my best to get this out in time for everyone to doing if you're listening definitely go check out the writing contest the links if you disagree with me or if you disagree with tim i think that's probably a great place to start for a prop if you wanna tell us we're wrong and stand for something else i think this is maybe a good motivator to get something right but again guys thank you so much for coming on that's my trip with me and tim and max at kiwi news and and the writing contest thank you again guys

41:12Speaker 2

thank you
