happy friday everyone some weeks you just like really need the weekend and there's nothing happened this week that was particularly busy or stressful but i am so excited it's friday
just being i i am gonna say that my week was very busy and stressful so i definitely and my weekend is gonna be even busier and even more stressful so and then next week is gonna be even busier and more stressful so this is called end of semester and it is what it is so we just we we we plow on my students actually i haven't even posted this on warpcast yet my student project launched yesterday so they're nft project so that is now out in the world and i'll be sharing that more on
probably on monday or tuesday actually
and so yeah do they do group projects they do
so for this class it's my nfts in the metaverse class we did one big class project we actually worked with another class called the promoting ventures class and they did a lot of content and things for us to like help with the promotion of it so you'll see that start flying about very soon so it was a lot of fun it's a it's it's been an interesting it's an interesting class that i've been teaching and developing and this is the second time i've taught it like this so it's an ever evolving thing but now to farcaster in one of these days i was originally gonna invite them all to farcaster and then i changed my mind so i'm like they're not ready for it so we'll get them there eventually alright moving on we have some really big news this week and it's reflected in our backgrounds here we have a new mint with warps by oxen and we have a few i guess
upcoming mints from different artists and he's considered and dan had said farcaster native artists and i thought that was a really interesting term that we now have artists that we consider farcaster native is pretty cool and i think that oxen being the first out of the box was the right was the right move for sure so what did you think about that as well
yeah and i know in my mind and i i it's like i didn't know exactly what does forecaster native artist mean and yet i know i can come up with a list of about easily 5 artists that really come to mind where i know their work and i know what they're doing and if i had to think about it i could probably come up with 15 or 20
yeah isn't that interesting like it was when i saw him use that term i was like and then i was like oh yeah and i could i did the same thing in my mind where i started like thinking about who who are those folks and there's a lot as you start to to really dig in so i'm excited to see who comes next

mister chris co created yes gm gm and gm to the chat and i think we got naomi in there too so gm this morning so that was exciting i minted with warps immediately and was very excited to see that we also have an update on november qdau and this is exciting november was a record month number 1 2 trending down recently because of holiday season which makes a lot of sense but a lot more activity year over year 3 was we're still searching for sources of repeatable growth and i think that's interesting and then 4 top priority continues to be growing qdau 10 100 a 1000 x so with the with number 3 we're still searching for sources of repeatable growth and along those lines i wanna tie to that the channel focused retroactive funding round which is live right now for purple and i think that really connects a lot to what we're talking about with qdao and because it has been recognized that channels are really helpful with getting people to return day after day right so once you connect with a channel that you're really vibing with you're gonna wanna know what's going on there so i can understand that so speaking of that farcast her has been a really fantastic channel and you we had a little meetup on wednesday afternoon so do you wanna talk a little bit about that and also anything about are you going to apply for the channel focused around
i applied last night so application already submitted 1st proposal i've ever submitted so for if you've been following along with the show like you're literally seeing me go further into the web 3 decentralized governance ecosystem i got my purple token for the first time about 6 weeks ago we submitted this show to one of the last rounds so and we won
we were one of the 5 winners
won thank you everyone yeah so and it's funny because i'm my style is always like i promote i am telling everybody else to submit because i do believe the more submissions the better right it's like the that's what how innovation works that's how yep evolution works and i want people to submit there's a it's like when in doubt just submit you just do it so yep of course i'm hesitant to set submit my own stuff just my style and no so i did it and thank you to i had enough chandra chandresh and arian kind of subtly nudged me so i submitted and instead of just doing channel lead i submitted the 2 virtual meet ups i hosted as as a project so you know one of the themes this year has been around we're making it's like farcaster special why because of the people okay well why the people it's because you're making real relationships and and yes we do that all online but how many irl meet ups have there been this year and people come back and you you feel like kind of deeper connections so i wanted to create places for farcaster to really kinda deepen relationships so it was an easy lift virtual meetups we do guest speakers we have guided meditation very which is fantastic
thank you eve that was fantastic and we had this week there was a speaker about like i got i forgot her name now oh my god erin who talked about health erin thank you talking about women's health and different studies and and funding and research and it was really interesting so i i i've been loving the meetups i think it just helps to really create a better connection between the folks that you're interacting with a lot within the channel and it's been it was super fun and i love that you have applied like this has been so fun to watch so i for those who might be new you're just catching this podcast going i have no idea what's going on so we've been doing this since september but i you know was already in like a zillion daos like i am quite dao ish so to have like to watch your journey sorta like watching you tiptoe into this ecosystem that i am like so down a rabbit hole in is so fun it's and it's really fun to kinda watch like how you're you know going about it and i love that you put a prop in fantastic like anyone who has a who's a channel lead right now like there should be 20 props in there like one for every channel that is is currently active with a lead should be in there
and one of yeah so so my hesitation was when you read the the prop because it was created along the time when i think dan announced hey we're we're gonna invest in channels it said really looking i think for the way it was worded it made me sound like it should be an app you know like if you're building something to make channels more effective as opposed to if you're doing something to increase quality dao it was like it it was subtly worded in a way that made it sound more technical
so i hesitated but at the same point what is everybody's goal is qdao right so so that's the
thing to focus on

so that's why i and that was why i connected those 2 you know when we're talking about the stats for qdao and the purple round i feel like those things are so connected and that should really be the focus of you know is this gonna drive better quality daily active users in some way and that's how i'll be voting on these as well amazing so moving on to varun q 4 dev survey summary is out they had 46 respondents 33 of whom were actively building apps on farcaster here is the summarized results nps improved from 8 to 15 still a long way to go before we're happy with our developer experience but we're making progress in the right direction how likely are you to recommend building on farcaster to a friend or colleague so this is been some good increases but you know obviously a ways to go you wanna get that more into the 8 9 tens but getting there so exciting cool to cool to take a look at all these these stats in the summary usage of warpcast api is down so there might people are migrating to nayanar or directly using hubbell instead of relaying on warpcast apis so that's really interesting that's a big bit of progress there and so shout out naynar and rish on that fantastic and main points expressed by users are documentation is hard to find understand it out of date and authentication is complicated so hopefully they'll make some improvement there and a few other notes so i think that's really interesting it seems like they got a pretty good turnout on the responses which is fantastic and it's good to see like some of that data being shared and i think that's what makes this really interesting right because you're building a desocialized central decentral decentralized social network where you have people who are building on top so it's not like twitter that's controlling everything so you've it it it's really interesting to see like how this thing that was built nayanar on its own is now having such an impact on development and i think that's what makes it all very special and different in the future so thoughts
amazing so and a little perspective so and i know you're not a developer i'm not a developer former i let everyone know former developer but not anymore but the so much so much respect for the people building on on farcaster and i i wanna put a little perspective because i've been hanging out for a year and you kinda see how the discourse and and conversation changes so in i wanna say probably january february beginning of this year there was a there was kind of one primary alt if you remember it was yes formerly known as prpl but now jam and and there was just a lot of conversation about i think developers feeling frustrated that there was it was not an even playing field how can you go up how can you really build a a valid alternative client when you're up against warpcast right which also wasn't called warpcast at the time right it was just convercaster broadcaster right how are you gonna go up against a venture backed startup marco marco and
it never blew up but that was the underlying people were experimenting but there was an underlying theme of like this is you know and look it's still you're still up against i think right but how many more clients are we seeing pop pop pop pop it's like it's like popcorn like every week there's a new one and we've got wodge launching supercast right out of right next week ton of excitement about that yep so i just tend to are we moving in the right direction towards right a a a larger ecosystem of clients and i think yes so yeah
it's very exciting and i think that you know i it seems like nanar was really the key to making that a lot easier for developers to take the risk take the chance and try something so yeah i'm excited and and i don't know if you saw this but alex grover was funded to create a nouns client for farcaster so that'll be interesting because that's a that's a different approach right where you're specifically creating something for a specific community so it's gonna be interesting to see i'm curious to see how much that gets used versus warpcast and and see how that all because i think that'll be a good first experiment at a niche front end client for farcaster so we'll see we'll see how that goes as well so it's really interesting to see all this coming about and it's exciting and fun okay so we have to talk about the wow wow cats and i'm gonna change my background in a second but this was really fun to celebrate aukhsan's inaugural warps edition for every 5 likes or recasts i will increase the funniness weirdness and glitchiness of this far cat and i thought this was just hilarious so please go like this so that he'll continue to create derivatives of these crazy purple cats my favorite is down the bottom here and i will be changing my background in just a second but i thought this was quite hilarious and thank you for changing your background i gotta change mine up and make sure i match i love this one because it looks like my hair is now this big purple mane of cat hair and i think it's fantastic i just thought this was so fun
