yay which is why i got to see you yesterday and it was so exciting we had so much fun i can't get the photo to pull up right now but i will add the link in our show notes so we did meet up we had a little what i was calling and joking around as our farcaster team retreat aka we had lunch and we made you know we planned for world domination so that's you know pretty much what we did yesterday and i'm wondering if you could one of the things that you that you and i talked about was you know what's our mission what's our our vision or values that kind of thing and you kinda summed it up in 3 verbs could you share that adrianne i was gonna pull it on the screen but i can't seem to do that right now

that's right so we've been doing our gm forecaster livestream morning news show for 4 months 3 months

happy happy 40 to us and we met up yesterday for lunch and to hang and we talked about kinda what we wanna do as we as we think into next year and where we wanna go so yeah i put some thought into why are we doing this we're doing what's

never move into the what or or the how until you know the why so so the 3 kind of verbs i touched upon first was proliferate which is we're we're such big fans of farcaster and why we think decentralized social and farcaster in particular is important to the world we're both purple token holders you earlier than me but it's just we we we believe in the mission and and we want forecasters to succeed so part of this kind of doing media is about growing forecaster and proliferating forecaster
educate educate number 2 educate
so we have to liberate educate and we use the show just to educate people and you know we we talk through announcements memes but we also talked about maybe venturing into short little videos and explainers because i think as as more and more people are onboarding and we know merkel's not doing this because they're hiring only developers until there's product market fit but is there a need for short little 2 minute onboarding videos so we talked about doing that and maybe that's something we we do more of but we do see ourselves as helping to educate and the third is connect and that's about that's okay just community because it's hard to do you know this is what all social is about is connection

warps no a 100 warps that's what i said a $100100 worth of warps oh a 100 warps don't be messed up you get us into trouble here a 100 warps alright let's move on to all of our stuff so it was supposed to be a break last week yeah that didn't happen so mary shipmas castor's i loved this little it's a shipmas miracle from i speak nerd and the team last week was shipping like crazy so we had a whole bunch of stuff that came out last week including some small things new small improvement on warpcast mobile this was from dwr new version available will now appear as a small row at the top of your notifications tab so it should make it easier to ensure you're on the latest version when we ship a new feature so you'll see new warp cast version is available here restart and i think that may have just happened as a matter of fact we also there was a new mint with warps that happened last week from bias vibe shift o'clock which i loved this i thought this was great and this is what i'm using as my background today i think it looks phenomenal you can still mint this with warps and check that one out and you can reorder your favorite channels there was a question on this and some people didn't realize it but you can tap tap hold and drag on mobile or click hold and drag on web to reorder your channels if you want them in a different order and okay moving on to one more thing the snapshot for this week we have from ghost links and outcasters this is snapshot 024 i think we both fell off the top list if i remember correctly but it was a beautiful snapshot this week i didn't make it on the top active users list but i did make it into some of the photos at least one my donut picture made it in into the food part of this little little bit here

oh i think there was like 2 left at that and it was late it was late at night when these these showed up and they were still gone like before the morning like there were things there was 2 left or something so yeah no we we ate right through those they were they were quite lovely alright and i wanna move on to the next thing which is exciting and i wanna dig into this a little bit more with you adrianne and i this is from danica swanson collaborated on a project to bring the early fc farcaster seniors lexicon on chain we're excited to share the results and starting with conversational liquidity providers clps before and after a farcaster and benevolent dictator and it is really amazing and i have to show some of these images that you guys have put together in here the mints are also built in here so you can see them like the before and after forecaster or the clp and the benevolent dictator which is so cute i love the benevolent dictator one so can you talk a little bit about like how this came about
like everything that happens on farcaster no one knows the beginning of anything because everything just sort of emerges slowly seemingly out of nowhere so i don't actually remember the very very beginning but there's a lot of self proclaimed word nerds in forecasting

and you know i know we know that memes are important but we're in this kind of emerging social network we know things are emerging we talk a lot about kind of farcaster native x y whatever fill in the blank farcaster native art farcaster native memes so the the nerds of the nerds because aren't we all nerds here we just it's been talking about oh there's certain kind of language that has emerged so the the first one that popped out for me was conversational liquidity provider it's not a term that was coined on farcaster so it's that there are people somewhere else as right have written that down
heard it i've never heard it anywhere before i will say that neither have i the first time i heard it was on farcaster
and i think it might have been chris corella who first kind of brought it here but next thing you know someone picks up on it and then it's kind of all over the feed and and so we we ran with it and i loved that concept and obviously if you remember i brought it up because i just love the idea that anyone can contribute to the value of farfaster without being a developer

what we do developers get yeah right this is what we do make conversation
so so that was the clp the clp and then you had 2 others
the benevolition before farcaster and after and danica reached out so at some point i think danica had reached out and said like you know she's a writer editor is is really into kind of the words and so we we said oh we could we could work on some sort of project because wouldn't it be cool to really have a a document and and kind of document the lexicon imagine a book of of early vocabulary the before after it's just oh this is before and after it just seems like a theme that resonates i've i've cast a lot about my own experience like i've been on forecaster for a year i'm like legit a different person today than i was 12 months ago

i really wish we had bet on this last tuesday when we had dan on and we were talking about it it would have been really funny and i loved her post i have made a huge mistake so she came right out with it and then she immediately started a channel so i would she changed it it is slash ted but also called ted it which i think is really funny somebody made that suggestion and she ran with it and why ted and this can actually be more a greater discussion about personal channels the future is one where anyone is a creator curation is king content is queen and distribution is decentralized in house personal brands will win yet only 1% of users on social create today if you want to shape the future of consumer anything there is no better time than now to start creating i thought that was a really interesting point and i found the whole like personal channels really interesting to see who is kinda jumping on that bandwagon and i've thought about it myself and it doesn't make sense i feel like it would be extra work for me at the moment not something like that would be fun and useful however the gm farcaster channel solved a huge problem for me and that's why i don't feel like i need a personal channel because like mostly i'm gonna cast in there if it doesn't fit in another channel so what are your thoughts on that what are your thoughts on the the return of ted
ted always has a ted always has a place i mean there is no forecaster without ted so we all the minute i and and and ted knows this but the minute she said i'm out of here i'm like you're coming back there's no we will you're coming back and it's okay
i love what she wrote about the creators made like very very logical and makes sense and and and it kind of just as you were reading it i'm reminded i think when we're here in this network and it looks around and it's like i don't identify as a creator myself or kind of i just don't
but anyone anyone else wanna anyone wanna make a comment about that

literally like creating something 2 days a week but okay
okay but the my my point is we're sitting here like in this circle of everyone is a creator so it's like oh it feels like the pond is pretty crowded but it's that reminder of the like that you know it's kind of like the 1% of the 1% actually does create and that's who you're thinking about

really everybody is lurking and reading and there is room for everyone and and and when you do lean into creating and posting and sharing i mean my own personal thing i've gotten so much just it's been so rewarding

it back okay we gotta we gotta boogie really quickly on personal channels dan said re personal channels a great example of where one only possible when you make channel creation permissionless and 2 if enshrined in the protocol very hard to change direction i e is personal channel a sort of super powered farcaster account with a wall ability to pin more the more user led experimentation we can learn from over the next couple of months while centralized will make a potential decentralized version of that much more compelling also channels gave us 2 user led innovations similar to early twitter like the ads and the hashtags retweets etcetera so this channel syntax in personal channels so i do think that personal channels are very cool i think we're seeing some really cool experiments with it i don't think that everybody needs their own channel i think it has to make sense and into what you're casting

doing sad builders coping with cryptos casino esque products let me ask you a question what is a casino is farcastra casino and before you rush to type no consider this every single builder here is gambling their time in exchange for some upside meme coins are just a more direct version of this this became the new meme fresh pasta for your consideration so now it became that but what that led to was brian creating his own channel called bad takes from now on every post i make will go into this newly created channel bad takes so there you go i appreciated that little pivot and one more thing i wanted to talk about was survey caster now that it is permissionless and you can create your own surveys in channels i love it so i created one is die hard a christmas movie and it was a resounding yes so we can end that discussion so that's great and the i'm leading the witness objection your honor just a tad just a tad and i loved this one and i wanted to mention this and get your take on it really quick because we're out of time how many dm combos have you started received on farcaster and i believe this survey is still open so you can go take that and i was an easy 21 plus north of 20 question north of 20 north of 20 but not even a question i didn't even check my old dms i just checked like my current one and i was over 21 for sure but we've talked about this dms we feel like are really important but you had a great comment and you had a question you were asking as well in forecast and that was
yeah so i think it was twice i've seen this this topic of dms come up and dan said you know it's in in one of his threads of how to how are you how to be good at farcaster one of it was use dms so the idea of you have public conversations you can move to dm and develop 1 on 1 conversations and relationships with people that can lead to a google meet that can lead to a collaboration how many people are meeting cofounders and developers and writers and you know and there is so much value in the dm because your network is your net worth and here you've got this network of you know builders and prospects
of new people yeah it's how you get to know people and especially if you just wanna call with them too afterwards
so there is value there but i had a question to the farcast her community we should ask the same to farcast him i think yeah we really should let's burn it out to what do we feel about dms but the idea of you just i have heard that some women have trouble with dms because people are sliding into dms with inappropriate unwelcome advances and so i think a lot of women are like don't don't dm and i think it's unfortunate because then we don't have the same opportunities now you and i are safely in you know our gen x i don't know no one's laughing at the end

i've i've earned the safety but with my but anyway i it's it's something to think about and then why is it you know it's just how do we perpetuate you know we we just never enough of my family's friends
in my experience in in dms on far in dcs i should say on farcaster is very different from twitter dms i get a lot more spam over on twitter i get a lot more inappropriate on twitter all those things i have not had that happen i've had very few i wouldn't even call them spammy but just kind of like you know this isn't going anywhere good
