0:42Speaker 1

good how are you guys thanks for having me

0:44Speaker 0

we're good and adrienne g m how are you doing on this you know feature feature friday it's farcaster friday

0:54Speaker 2

the 1 week anniversary of frame friday

0:57Speaker 0

1 week anniversary

1:00Speaker 0

and and and farfetch today this is what i this is what i saw on my feed was just dan 10 am pt that's it 10 am pt

1:10Speaker 2

because your app okay so a lot of people are just seeing kind of blank casts and missing the joke if you updated your app what you would have seen is video so he actually posted a video there was a teaser video

1:26Speaker 0

oh my god it's a i somehow did not see this but i'm like i think there's a video here somewhere but i just can't see it

1:33Speaker 2

it was a play on groundhog's day it was like a from from the movie of the 6 am wake up and i don't know the inside joke is it just like every friday we ship something major oh boy

1:44Speaker 1

yeah probably maybe i don't know how

1:46Speaker 0

friday again it's for it's friday again yeah

1:48Speaker 2

groundhog day means we ship

1:49Speaker 0

that's funny it's actually groundhog day too you know just fyi

1:53Speaker 2

happy groundhog day

1:55Speaker 1

oh i did not realize that

1:56Speaker 0

it's february 2nd it is actually groundhog day and i forgot to post the the now dish meme of that i forgot so we're getting videos so confirmed in other words you're gonna get to see gm farcaster on directly on morphcast soon

2:10Speaker 1

oh cool

2:11Speaker 0

that'll be really cool this is exciting and so let's go back to december when dan was here with us and varun was on a plane to india and he promised video by the end of 2024 by the end and it is february 2nd so not bad not bad at all

2:33Speaker 1

that team ships

2:34Speaker 0

yeah they're really good ships like crazy so you know this team pretty well like this is a you've worked with them for you've known them for a while so what do you think of this crazy shipping farcaster team

2:45Speaker 1

i mean i love it i've just been so happy to see like how much they listen to users and ship really quickly and just like iterate that was kinda like the culture at coinbase so i mean jess i saw jesse was on recently and the coinbase team is just really awesome and brian and fred really cultivated this like founder like energy and yeah it's fun getting to work with everyone again i've just been so happy yeah

3:12Speaker 0

i love that i love that yeah everyone's back working with their friends i love that like theme that jesse kinda mentioned that and i thought that was amazing it's like in a decentralized manner but we're working together and i love that sort of yeah that feels very far castry for sure okay we've got a few other things that have happened in the past couple days first of all new feature for channels on warped cast cohosts and linda by the way i'm showing the cast while i'm reading it just so you know you're not seeing it but the viewers are co hosts add up to 25 co hosts for your channel they have full permissions to boost hide edit edit add and remove other cohosts so be careful so make sure you trust them cohosts can help manage the quality of a channel feed by using hide get started on warpcast web and they believe it now works on mobile as well and consequently enough so nounce being the decentralized organization that it is we had decided early on not to have a channel lead just the eth ethos kind of thing and it really didn't make sense at first and then yesterday morning before something happened i said hey we have cohosts now we should probably add some people to mod this thing and then we didn't do it quick enough and then they got like spam crazy so we did now add we were able to add a few cohosts quickly so that we could kinda take care of that but it was kinda one of these things of like sometimes our philosophical thing has to like break to reality here it's like we really needed to manage that because it became unusable but really excited because i got to make my gm farcaster cohost a cohost which was helpful

4:52Speaker 1

thank you yay

4:53Speaker 0

you're you're official now i was like yay adrienne can be a cohost now good

4:58Speaker 2

we all know but we all know i'm still the sidekick

5:01Speaker 0

no you're really not it's a this is a 5050 operation don't don't make me go all

5:05Speaker 1

the way

5:06Speaker 2

through the sidekick happy to

5:08Speaker 0

be happy to fulfill that role you are you are like you're the one who's gonna keep me grounded dude let me tell you and she also reads my mind which is phenomenal i'll be like you know we need we need this and she'll be like hey i did this and i'm like awesome thank you i didn't have to even text you about it happens all the time it's so funny okay couple other things that i'm whipping through these because i just wanna jump into bounty caster so bad but i want to make sure we mention a ripple it to make a frame with 4 buttons that link to different pages exactly 69 lines of code fork it and redeploy to get your own and it is cool this was with after the dev call so it's a farcaster dev call frame it has notes calendar the zoom link and the recordings so that is pretty impressive and adrianne if you could by sunday have one made up for gm farcaster that'd be great

6:00Speaker 2

when you recasted that and and tagged me and i was like oh i could do this i could i could do a little replit gm forecaster frame if you could also gift me an additional 24 hours in the day

6:13Speaker 0

i will do my best

6:15Speaker 2

sure take my kids for the weekend and all my driving chaperone duties would be great

6:20Speaker 0

what you can't just do this on the sideline of the yeah soccer game or no

6:24Speaker 2

not happening

6:25Speaker 0

okay but we but that to me was really cool what did you what are you thinking linda when you're seeing all these frames and all these applications come out like what jumps in your mind of like what do you wanna see what have you seen that's like excited you and like what are you hoping to even develop for bounty caster for example

6:43Speaker 1

yeah i'm obsessed with frames it just like for bounty caster itself unlocks a lot of things that we couldn't have done otherwise so like we didn't build out a a full like farcaster client with barnicaster like there is no sign in with farcaster feature and so now with these frames we can have redirects that can prove okay the bounty poster made this post and then they clicked on this and now we can like create like some special link for them to like edit their bounty information and like do all kinds of things so it just like unlocks this like ability to just like have a fully fledged app within farcaster and so i'm really excited like all the use cases that come about from it but we've been like nonstop working in the frames realm and it's been so cool to see all the like hackathons pop up all over and just like really funny things like like the other day i asked hey like what's your pokemon based off your fid yeah and then like 30 minutes later 6 just built it and was like here you go and it's just it was just so cool i love this like like hackathon like builder energy right now

7:47Speaker 0

i love the i love that that happens on firecastr it's happened for a long time where somebody would be like you know it would be cool somebody should build and then like an hour later it's built exactly whatever it is and it's and it's and it's amazing to have that kind of where people just want to experiment and and contribute which is really cool and i appreciate that you know bounty caster was sharing all the bounties and making sure that people are aware of like not only you know anything you might you know directly just kind of consolidating and curating all of that and making sure that was available very easily for builders which i thought was incredible

8:24Speaker 1

yeah we didn't expect that we kinda turned into this like makeshift like virtual hack athon platform and so it's it's been fun to see all the bounties for it

8:33Speaker 0

and it was so cool like we we put up our hackathon backgrounds again from last weekend because i'm sure it might all probably happen again this weekend who knows that variant did very like spur the moment and seeing that all happen and base coming in supporting with pizza like it was just such a fun fun thing to witness for sure if i had been in new york i would have been there just to observe like not that i was gonna build anything but just to like be in the energy i think would have been amazing were you did you actually were you there

9:02Speaker 1

oh i didn't go i was we were sprinting so hard for getting frames out so we we we knew before it was going out because they were like hey like you know you should start we you should start like thinking of like what to do with the frames for bounty capture because we really wanna showcase what's possible with frames and so i think we found out like wednesday or something and then my cofounder daniel who's just like the best engineer ever was just like we him and i were just like sprinting on getting something out and like really trying to iterate on it while there was a moving spec for it so like they're like oh we like you know just made a few changes here and we're like okay cool but but we were we were pretty beat like you know going into

9:45Speaker 0

yeah

9:45Speaker 1

that day

9:46Speaker 0

that's amazing so she did have insider information

9:49Speaker 1

yeah i don't we we yeah they they give us an early sneak peek of the frames

9:57Speaker 0

oh yes jesse that he had this pause and we were like you know not about that but about what was coming this week he was like yeah and we was like no no i don't know and i'm like i think you know it was funny i love that he's like they told me not to tell i can tell they're like we get them on here i'm like really we're gonna be like the mike wallace of fire firecaster getting like these

10:21Speaker 1

i think we like us and gallery were told because they're like oh we wanna give you these like example apps and then the farcaster team just shipped so quickly we're like yeah we can't make this like deadline but we'll be like a fast following list so like announce it and then like a few hours later we'll get this out so it was it was trying to showcase some app ideas

10:40Speaker 0

amazing

10:41Speaker 1

yeah

10:42Speaker 0

we have a couple other things going on that i wanna mention i this is crazy like every day this week they've had something text input for frames a new spec to add an input field feedback welcome so that was from baroon so check that out

10:54Speaker 1

i didn't even know that that's so cool that's huge oh my god i need to write that down breaking news

11:01Speaker 0

breaking news

11:02Speaker 2

should we remind people should we remind people not to enter their seed phrase in the text input

11:07Speaker 0

don't do that don't do that don't put your

11:08Speaker 2

password in don't put your seed phrase don't put your seed phrase

11:13Speaker 0

be careful what you enter into the text field enter seed phrase that's not good

11:18Speaker 2

well there were a lot of questions there were actually some good questions when frames first launched from people just saying like what are the risks what what do i need to know and i think really good questions and especially in our space something people should be asking anytime you're gonna play with something new and you know in implementation 1 and first version there were no risks you had to know from a privacy standpoint that anything you're doing the information is available so we know who clicked on what we know what you clicked and that's available but there was no way to really do anything there was no wallet draining fear right it's not everyone's fear every time you're doing anything

11:51Speaker 0

exactly

11:52Speaker 2

so none of that but as as features are finding so

11:58Speaker 0

that was so last weekend

12:00Speaker 2

so last week and i was like well in the future there will be risks and then like 2 days later as soon as you're adding text input i mean you know you can imagine the enter enter your seed phrase to me to mint an nft

12:12Speaker 0

i'll go on

12:13Speaker 1

yeah your last four ssm

12:15Speaker 0

yeah just your last four digits of your social security number your your pet you know those those kinds of things yeah so but we do we do have that now so that's that's amazing and then i do have to mention this from yacik our dgen dgen bounty create a dgen frame on farcaster judges select the finalist to guard against civils community votes for winners prizes 1,500,000 d gen for winner 500 k for 2 runners up need d gen for testnet contact him so that's pretty cool and then we did have the c dixon chris dixon ama which was pretty amazing too for his new book read write own so that was that happened as well this week that was like 2 days ago or 700 years in our our caster

13:05Speaker 2

time you guys are amazing it

13:07Speaker 0

and i'm super excited i started reading a little bit i haven't gotten too far into it i did listen to his podcast with balaji and i did assign it to my students because i wasn't gonna assign the book because it's too late in the semester to add a book but i did assign the podcast so that's due next wednesday reminder and they then have to comment and and tell me why it's why these things what excited them what's important that kind of stuff so it'll be interesting to see if anyone reads it after that point we'll see if we get them interested enough so what do you you've read a little bit so what do you yeah

13:41Speaker 2

well linda do you plan on reading it

13:43Speaker 1

oh yeah for sure i i bought it shipped it to my parents' house because i'm nomadic and don't have a home but yeah i can't wait to pick it up from my parents' house

13:52Speaker 2

i'm a kindle maxi so

13:55Speaker 1

i i tried for so long but i just there's nothing like that physical book feeling of just like flipping through pages i don't know

14:02Speaker 0

i wanna i wanna grab my physical book but it's too far away i just realized i should have had it closer i got the physical book and audible so i usually listen to listen to my books because that's just when i have time is when i'm in the car so when i'm going back and forth to campus that's when i'll usually listen to podcasts and audiobooks and things like that

14:20Speaker 1

so it's funny that we're all reading it is chris reading the audiobook

14:24Speaker 0

i haven't started that yet but that probably yes he is i think he is yep yep he is if i remember correctly most of the authors these days do their own books i've noticed at least the ones i've listened to the one that's really this is okay i'm gonna go on a small tangent but malcolm gladwell's talking to strangers was a really interesting audio book because he did it like a podcast where he kind of pull in the voice if he was quoting somebody he tried and get them to actually do the quote which i thought oh

14:51Speaker 1

that's really cool that

14:53Speaker 0

it was very cool so it was a little different and gary v had a really funny one where he would just go off script all the time and it was kind of funny so yeah so i like audiobooks they give it a little more yeah just more opportunity to actually dive in but i have the physical book as well so i'm gonna do both adrienne did i miss any news before we really dive in to bounie caster with linda what did i miss

15:16Speaker 2

i'd say it's almost guaranteed you missed news

15:19Speaker 0

oh i know i did

15:20Speaker 2

but i

15:20Speaker 0

mean anything next to

15:24Speaker 0

way too much way too much did i miss anything big like like i didn't even see the video just the video

15:31Speaker 2

channels specific channels i think we i think we can carve out time

15:36Speaker 0

we carved emojis the other day we wanted emojis we got frames can we still have emojis and we can so let's move on i wanna post i wanna show the the post that i put up a couple of days ago because we was mentioning that or yesterday we're interviewing interviewing you building bounty caster tomorrow i'm gm forecaster wanna test it out drop your questions for linda below and best question selected will get 100 warps in a subscription to farkyber by the way i just made the call on that i didn't sorry adrian and then all i did was tag bounty bot and it eventually i had a little user error but eventually we got the bounty and then at the very end we had i was able to confirm but within it there's a frame there's an admin bounty manage the bounty frame that comes up that you can also pitch in funds too which i thought was very cool so i did this because i really wanted a better understanding of how it worked i learned by doing things so i was like okay i'm gonna throw a bounty up and let's see let's see what happens i think it's such a great way like i'd i'd love to just dive in like let's start with a little bit about like why did this concept come to you why farcaster where did this like idea come from and sort of got you building it and let's just dive into that and then we'll we'll dive into more of the the what's and the how's

17:01Speaker 1

yeah first of all thanks for trying it i and also i very much believe like user error is like always on us because it's like how can we you know improve the experience so thank you for trying and we will improve but i so so my cofounder daniel who is pirost b 3 on farcaster we had just been going down the idea maze of different things we're excited by and like what we wanted to build something that really resonated with both of us was the ability for people all over the world to get paid out for doing great work regardless of you know if they have a traditional background or just their geographic location and crypto is just so unique because it allows for these like global payments so we just felt like that was just an area that we really cared a lot about just providing like more like opportunity for people and using crypto for like actual payments like when i joined coinbase initially it it was just bitcoin then like i was so excited about like payments and like i felt like it's like taken some time to like get to that and now with l twos we felt like there was something that was a huge unlock here and then add that with stable coins we felt like there was something unique and so we ended up deciding and we tried with a bunch of prior teams that had done like bounties in the past like bounties network equid bounties and they were super helpful and we felt like something that was really different than that what existed back then is you had this like decentralized you know social graph that you could start building on top of and and i've actually had like a friend who is building on top of twitter actually have to shut down his business because they just changed their api and pricing and it was just like invisible for them and so i was like wow it's so cool we like don't ever have to worry about that with this decentralized social network and then the other part is openai so we were like okay just like such a huge unlock here and my my cofounder daniel he he's been like really deep in like the ai stuff and so i was like okay what if we combine like bounties plus farcaster plus ai where this ai is like processing all of everyone's cash using national language processing so you don't have to like write this formal like here is a bounty this is exactly the amount this is the like structure that you have to go through and like make it kind of like high friction for users so the ai stuff plus stablecoins plus l 2 in this case we're focused on base and so we're like what happens if we just combine all these and let's put it out in the world built a mvp in a month and got it got it out there so pretty excited to see people use it

19:41Speaker 2

that's super cool linda i didn't even realize you had the ai component and my brain so like and i tried bouni castor a few months ago and my brain initially because it's you know it's new experience how do i do it i'm really trying to figure out like well how do i for how do i write this in a way right so that the algorithm is going to how do i feed the algorithm what it wants yeah and it doesn't even and i love this idea of like yes the more you're able to i mean i need to change my behavior right like i'm like no it's it's not algorithm it's human first and i just say what i want exactly yeah i love that human first

20:22Speaker 0

not algo first that's a good way to put it

20:24Speaker 1

yeah we're like trying to meet

20:25Speaker 2

to the algos let the algos conform to

20:28Speaker 1

us exactly like we're trying to meet users where they already are they're already in like firecaster land and they're just already casting like hey i want this to be built so it's like okay if we can just like have this bot process everything and generate titles and like you know pull the number of claims and the amounts yeah that would be like easier on the user

20:48Speaker 0

absolutely and it was cool to see like then you could go to bounty caster and see all the bounties for frames for example yeah like you could go to the actual website like and just see them all there together and like that's such an easy lift for somebody who's like okay i'm i'm a dev i wanna build something with frames okay let me see what's here oh wow okay great i can then reply to all these different things so it's such a great like curation as well which is

21:16Speaker 1

yeah yeah i mean it's been really cool like so when we launched this we we kind of were like oh like people are gonna be doing like dev bounties or like design bounties like one for 1 but like it turned out people like the most popular use case for like multi claim bounties where it was like oh like 3 people will win this or 10 people will get like if they give us user feedback i'll give you 10 usdc so like we started like really focusing more on like how can we pick up claims and how can we like surface all of that information so it's been fine because we just like see what people do and then we like adjust the product as as it goes

21:52Speaker 0

that was one of the questions we got like about pivots and i thought that was an interesting question on that on that thread was about what have you what have been the major pivots and how did that impact what you're doing have there been like shifts in in the way you're approaching this from where you started

22:09Speaker 2

yeah i mean i i i

22:10Speaker 1

don't think we've done any like pivot yet but it's definitely like oh we didn't expect this behavior and so now we're like adding these features and there's been so many times where like like i would get really excited by something and then i talk to users and they'd be like meh like i'm not as into that idea yeah and so like there was there was some things where i was like hey let's have like our bot be like super interactive like you can talk to it and like yeah like you can ask it questions and like you can ask it bounties and like people are like yeah like it's kind of noisy in my feet like i'm not sure i'm into it and so just like we're just focusing on the areas people like get really excited by and no matter like what a cool idea i think this is like listening to actually what people want so i think that's been where things have been progressing but like one thing that we did add that we didn't initially start out with was we added services recently so now people can post services through the bot so we've we figured like hey let's offer the flip side of the market because like we found out like basically spot can help facilitate peer to peer marketplaces because it's frictionless and now more people are posting as a result of it so we're thinking to maybe have this a little bit more of an expansion of like oh what if this was like craigslist on on farcaster

23:24Speaker 0

so we're kind of on farcaster yeah

23:26Speaker 2

yeah

23:26Speaker 1

we're kind of like moving towards adding like more things

23:29Speaker 0

that's that's amazing i saw the service one i went oh that's brilliant and especially because you posted 1 to listen to pitches which i thought was wow like what an opportunity like what an incredible opportunity which is what i said to adrianne but we weren't ready we'll get there but i love that you then were donating back to farcon and i thought that was you know incredible what a great great approach yeah so that was the first one i saw that was a service and i was like oh wow that's that's a really great idea that's a great way to connect you don't even know like i have this service or i have this thing i can do you don't even know if there's who out there might benefit from that so that's a great way to say hey i can do this thing if you're interested let me know and then it's not like you're you're not also not speaking to avoid it's a very niche audience so that's yeah

24:18Speaker 1

yeah it channels just makes it so much easier too because you can already like talk to a specific group that's interested in this area so i've been taking spanish lessons through services yeah so i think his username is crypto wen moon but ray he he's he's been my spanish teacher through that and it's been fun to

24:37Speaker 0

oh that's so cool yeah how did your your particular bounty go with the pitches like how was that experience

24:44Speaker 1

oh it went really well i mean there was there was yeah just a lot of founders that signed up who were about to go into the fundraising process and just like hadn't ever chatted with a vc before so it was just like giving them feedback i'm like here's you know maybe where vc is gonna push back or maybe this is where like your this pitch doesn't really stand out to somebody who's just like getting a ton of pitches in their feed and so ended up yeah getting $800 for the bounty pool from that service which is all going to far con so yeah i'm really excited by that

25:16Speaker 0

that's fantastic adrienne are

25:19Speaker 2

you going to far con

25:20Speaker 1

yeah yeah i'm i i'm definitely not missing far con so yeah what about you guys

25:25Speaker 0

on the boat far farcast her boat we're gonna go on

25:27Speaker 1

i wish but i'm flying out before then i would have otherwise for sure it'd be fun prop and

25:33Speaker 2

i will be there yay

25:34Speaker 1

we'll see each other

25:35Speaker 2

we're gonna be live streaming

25:36Speaker 0

yep

25:36Speaker 1

yeah i saw that i saw that actually

25:38Speaker 2

we have to be at all the forecaster events

25:41Speaker 0

of course all of them all one of them all the conferences all all that one but we'll also be at east denver and there's actually a purple event that is

25:49Speaker 1

oh

25:50Speaker 0

well assuming that the prop passes on the saturday of east denver so if you anyone who's gonna be at east denver like next week i'm probably gonna put a little more information out about what our plans are for what gm farcaster is doing because we're gonna have our own little meetup we're gonna be streaming live in the podcast the podcast area of ethdenver we're also gonna be trying to capture anybody who's speaking anyone from farcaster who is speaking on a panel or something like that we wanna be there filming that and report sort of reporting live and and giving you a little more ample amplification

26:29Speaker 2

get on that panel

26:31Speaker 0

yeah so that's gonna be fun are you gonna be in a denver by any chance

26:35Speaker 1

i'm not no okay yeah tab like that sounds fun and i didn't know there's a podcast area that sounds even more fun

26:41Speaker 0

yeah it's really cool like you could book a couple you could book some time in there so i'm excited to to be doing some streaming live and we'll get some people live and hanging out with us that'll be fun adrianne i know you've got a

26:53Speaker 2

zipline questions yeah and we'll be showing video live on in our

26:58Speaker 0

on work i know we can just stream it direct well i don't know if we can stream it but we'll be posting it directly in the gm farcaster channel so there you go i don't know if we can stream it i don't know we'll know at 10 pm pacific 10 am pacific time adrienne you've got a jillion questions so i'm turning it over to you like

27:18Speaker 2

yeah so i'm gonna wrap so i have questions that people wanted to ask you linda we have questions

27:25Speaker 2

i'm gonna pull an audible and ask the questions i wanna ask because i have 2 that i'm curious about so kind of downeycastler i look at it as like a 2 sided marketplace for skills and and kind of

27:38Speaker 2

have you had have you had any kind of problems yet mediating any sort of disputes have there been any disputes or do you expect there to be and has it been yeah

27:50Speaker 1

that one's a interesting one because so so far actually haven't had much on the dispute side we're kind of approaching a little bit more like peer to peer craigslist because like we don't we don't have escrow so there's no like oh we're facilitating the movement of these funds it's kind of like we limit the number of people that can post so so you actually can only post if you were part of firecaster before it went permissionless or if you have an active batch so there's this like cost to not you know giving out funds to people and then yeah we we're kind of just making sure that like we're highlighting like who are good bounty posters but so far it hasn't been like an issue and then the like couple i think there was like 2 times there they like resolved it on their own like i didn't have to get involved yeah

28:37Speaker 2

so kind of like great and then it's the there's still the element of trust

28:41Speaker 0

and

28:42Speaker 1

yeah yeah and like we we're totally happy yeah leaning into that like leveraging firecaster reputation like that was like very intentional on our end it's like craigslist but like with more social backing and like more reputation

28:53Speaker 2

right because you know who's you got to

28:56Speaker 0

get on

28:57Speaker 2

top of that reputation

28:58Speaker 1

yeah like i will i will be in the mentions and i will be like yo you like you didn't pay up so you know yeah

29:05Speaker 0

don't don't don't mess with linda she's coming she's coming at you in the replies

29:09Speaker 2

and the mobs will come and cancel

29:11Speaker 0

yeah exactly

29:11Speaker 2

okay

29:14Speaker 2

my other question is about kind of valuing like how to value the right price of a of a bounty mhmm especially in the kind of the global world right so and and different you know it's like you we've got a global global community cost of living are different people and just any thoughts on kind of or advice for people on how to think about pricing or valuing bounties

29:41Speaker 1

yeah i think just some potential ways to do it so you could look at like completed bounties and what's been done in the past and people that's been like really common way people look for like examples of like okay if i'm putting a dev bounty like generally what do i price it at then we're also adding working on this right now is the ability for so within a frame other people can say i'm interested in this bounty if the price is higher and so we're gonna try to like help with like some more price discovery and feedback on if bounties are underpriced so we're gonna play around with that also i have some interesting ideas around like being able to like vote if this bounty is gonna be complete or not because it's kind of this like prediction market of like is it well priced these are more wild ideas that we have going on

30:27Speaker 0

that's fun

30:28Speaker 2

oh that's so cool

30:29Speaker 1

yeah yeah that's fun so we'll we'll we'll and

30:31Speaker 0

with frames that can be a little easier to do

30:34Speaker 1

frames like honestly unlock so much behavior like it it it's like so underrated in terms of like like what it's it's allowed for us to do rather than like push people to our website it's it's really cool

30:46Speaker 2

i just think that's so cool i just remember like in decades in decades past just kinda having conversations about just compensation like kind of developer compensation and it looked like and and what is fair and so much of it was always so based on cost of living it's like you know and scarcity of skills and the unlock of you can kind of tap into a global market and and kind of people with skills win out and kind of separating like the value of what you can bring to the world from where you live makes me very optimistic

31:19Speaker 1

yeah very excited about the world

31:21Speaker 0

yeah and none of this would happen without the l two and without crypto like you you just can't do it the transaction like costs are just insane if you're trying to convert from one currency to another it just wouldn't be possible to work at a global level

31:36Speaker 1

yeah and it's nice because like so many users have their address connected on firecaster so like we already just service that or their ens and so it's like you don't even have to be like oh how do i pay you like most of the time it's like oh the address is already there which is it's just really cool

31:52Speaker 0

totally cool and you know i did mine in warps so the bounty i did more so i just went to yes to crypto was the bounty winner and i just went to the profile boom slide slide some warps that way and i was and i was done so that was very cool very cool so i'm sure that part will see more ease of use like that very soon for other currencies yeah definitely and speaking of i do wanna ask that question so we did have we did do that little bounty we had a lot of great questions and this was the one from yes to crypto and then i'm gonna swing it back to you adrienne after this question i applaud bounty caster and what it can do from just a cast i'm amazed at the parsing you're able to do in order to get just deadline bounty and more plus now frames epic but there's still a barrier barrier question what specific ideas does a team have for reducing initial friction for someone making a bounty so that was the question so where are you kind of what are the things you're working on that'll make this a little bit easier for people to jump in

32:54Speaker 1

yeah i i think honestly like frames is just a big unlock in terms of just like one button clicking so we can now now there's like editable fields like now we can prompt people to actually like if they wanna create a bounty they can just like enter things and and it's just like a nicer experience than having to write it all out so i think frames is like kind of the way we're approaching it but have to think on that more because it's such a new it's i mean it's such a new feature that's come out and there's still like little parts to it that like i think the teams the firecaster gonna improve over time like right now the buttons are like pretty limited in terms of like where you can position them and like what to do with them so yeah i i think maybe a few weeks from there we can see what we can do

33:40Speaker 0

just a few weeks it's still good like it's only been a week it's still in beta but we're like yeah yeah the team is gotta get a gotta get their act together it's only been 7 days

33:50Speaker 1

yeah can

33:50Speaker 2

we talk how half the most of the world talks in you know months quarters and yeah broadcaster talks in days weeks

33:58Speaker 1

yeah i

33:59Speaker 0

love it like it's which i is and it's infectious it's not like because the warp cast you know merkel's doing it at that speed everyone else has to do it at that speed you know what i mean so it's like it's this sort of compounding like unbelievable ship fest

34:17Speaker 1

yeah i love it so much the energy is just like makes me so excited like every day did you

34:22Speaker 0

say ship fest ship i said ship with a p ship fest yeah i know i i regretted it as soon as it came out of my mouth i regretted the choice

34:31Speaker 2

of course there's such a ship ship show

34:33Speaker 0

ship show alright what else you got adrienne

34:37Speaker 2

i've got a few yeah we'll try to kinda

34:39Speaker 1

we're still gonna try

34:40Speaker 0

and keep it to 40 okay 40 minutes our normal show is 21 minutes when we have a guest we're moving it to 42 minutes as long as they have

34:47Speaker 1

oh gosh i don't know if i can do that because i thought it was 25 and i do have okay

34:50Speaker 0

are you done okay we can wrap it up

34:52Speaker 1

i just messaged my friend and i was like hey like you know somebody were running late okay no that's fine okay

34:57Speaker 0

hit her with our hit her with our lightning round and any major questions you got left

35:01Speaker 2

okay lightning lightning round linda do you have 5 more minutes

35:04Speaker 1

of course yeah

35:05Speaker 0

yeah

35:05Speaker 1

oh okay

35:05Speaker 0

okay that's all we need okay

35:10Speaker 2

this is the question we ask everyone because we hang out on a social network when was the first time you made well who is who is your first internet friend

35:19Speaker 1

oh i mean that has to be from like neopets days so i was like really big on neopets like i was actually like like kind of like a little mini a non celebrity on there and i just had a lot of internet friends so that was my world for a few years

35:35Speaker 0

oh that's wild that's wild i love that

35:37Speaker 2

i don't know yeah i don't know neopets but i've met so many people who that was their first experience into the kind of internet

35:45Speaker 1

i learned everything from like i learned how to code i learned how to invest in stocks i learned how to run run a guild like it's the best place

35:52Speaker 0

oh that's so cool

35:54Speaker 2

is it still alive

35:56Speaker 1

i have no idea i mean i think so but i i i stopped using it like heading into high school

36:02Speaker 2

that's right what's your favorite channel

36:05Speaker 1

oh i mean like besides bounties obviously but i love the founder's channel like i i spent a lot of time in there and and listening to like people giving advice and yeah sharing different thoughts

36:17Speaker 0

i asked a question yesterday about advisory boards and i'm like you they just mvp ed why this channel is now a good advisory board like we don't need one we can just use the channel the founder's channel i like it really felt like that i was like okay never mind we don't need one yeah so good

36:34Speaker 2

does the coinbase mafia exist

36:38Speaker 1

i i'm not a huge fan of the term mafia but i yeah i mean there's and i don't like cabal either no but yeah there's

36:47Speaker 2

been i'm open yeah so so you can provide an alternative if you have one but until then you're the mafia

36:53Speaker 1

yeah i you know what i mean it's it's a really special group of people like it it was like people that like really believed in crypto you know before it was just popular and everyone just is so supportive of each other yeah it's it's i love the early coinbase crew

37:10Speaker 0

that's awesome by the way they all don't wanna be called the mafia and i love that because the paypal mafia i never hear any pushback on that

37:16Speaker 1

so that

37:17Speaker 0

tells you everything you need to know about the you know level of the values quality and values there yeah totally yeah totally love that okay

37:26Speaker 2

when we say cabal we it's obviously a meme and said with love as

37:31Speaker 1

oh yeah no same thing with mafia memes i just don't say it myself

37:36Speaker 2

no of course not that's what we do so there were a few questions kind of about bounty and obviously you chose to build bounty caster on farcaster we're choosing to build our show on farcaster so obviously we just inherently believe in the future of farcaster but just curious to if you can if you wanna just riff a little bit and articulate like what about farcaster why you chose farcaster

38:03Speaker 1

yeah so i think the farcaster community is just one of the like highest signal like friendly kinds groups that i've come across so like i i feel like i just spend most of my i was spending most of my time on farcaster instead of twitter because i was just like wow like the answers that i get are actually like genuine and people are like kind to each other and it's not like just trying to do engagement for me all the time so like i just naturally was spending so much time there and i i really started getting the feeling of like early ethereum days and so for me it was like man like there's really something here and i was just trying to convince my cofounder about it because he he hadn't used firecaster and so so he spent some time on it he was like oh like i totally see it so once once i got him bought in then we just were full on focused on on firecaster ecosystem

38:56Speaker 0

love that

38:57Speaker 2

does it ever get old does it ever get old talking about how great farcaster is

39:00Speaker 1

no not at all

39:01Speaker 2

not yet

39:02Speaker 0

not yet good thing

39:03Speaker 2

it's so good

39:04Speaker 1

my twitter twitter like post is all just how great farcaster is like i don't think i've posted that

39:11Speaker 0

i noticed that you post a lot about farcaster over on twitter which we love i love that i posted my my screen time and it's insane like my warp cast versus twitter i can't believe the difference now so amazing adrianne we've got a wrap so anything else linda like what should any call to actions anything that you want to sort of direct people to besides bounty caster go hit the channel slash bounty caster anything else like that you wanna direct people to about bounty caster

39:45Speaker 1

yeah i mean just i love getting user feedback so that's how we improve the product so like send like i actually have people send me like walls of text of feedback and it's like my favorite thing ever so if you run into issues let me know we always wanna see how we can improve the product make it a better user experience

40:02Speaker 0

and i highly recommend like go try it out like come up with some very small bounty like you need a restaurant recommendation something like that just to test it out and see how it works and give it a try so that is awesome anything else adrienne before we wrap because this is it we've gotta wrap this up

40:21Speaker 2

we good weekend wrap

40:22Speaker 0

it okay

40:22Speaker 2
