so here we go gm farcaster it is thursday we're all messed up this week february 15th and we are bringing you a special edition of gm farcaster 21 news to start your day with andrew from dune and adrianne i am super excited for this i you know saw this dashboard yesterday and i was like okay this is really cool and then of course you had a whole a whole comment about that which was

0:38Speaker 0

oh hey dave

0:39Speaker 1

oh i did

0:42Speaker 0

and it was

0:42Speaker 1

what are you doing to us

0:44Speaker 0

okay you it doesn't even tell

0:47Speaker 1

you have this incredible dashboard with lots of useful stats and then somewhere in the middle of the page you drop new status symbols

0:57Speaker 2

yeah yeah

0:58Speaker 0

and so we were joking because you you know usually you know we we're like no it's not vip he just doesn't know it's the pharisee he just didn't know he didn't know so he you know he changed all these names on us and we're like who what okay we have new things to we have new things to shoot for now i was a little disappointed by the way that i was not an influencer i thought i was and i'm like what's going on no it was really funny but but adrianne's like immediate comment was get up babe new status symbols just dropped

1:33Speaker 1

i was like as soon as you see it because we just pretend you know we're all everyone have fun here i i've been saying from the beginning farcaster is just like an incredible incredible place

1:45Speaker 0

yeah

1:45Speaker 1

because it's new and everybody can come in and no one really cares where you're from and yep we say it's like proof of work which means if you engage earnestly and often you can make an impact and build a following and make friends and and there's so much opportunity here so i'm always trying to just really welcome people and and get people to avoid the whole like don't worry about your active badges don't worry about don't chase

2:11Speaker 0

don't chase a plot you're a vip

2:12Speaker 1

your influencer don't so we're

2:14Speaker 0

just we're just joking with you we're joking with you yeah yeah yeah no i get it

2:18Speaker 2

i get it i mean it was fun trying to come up with the names of these things because i'm like alright

2:22Speaker 0

if you had consulted us we would have given you a whole different names and it would have been i'll

2:26Speaker 2

consult you after this for suggestions just kidding

2:29Speaker 0

probably shouldn't do that they're inside jokes and probably should remain that way

2:35Speaker 0

but let's what i wanna start with andrew is can you talk a little bit about you know what you what you do at dune how you got there and just what is dune for if you know obviously those who are you know crypto native and that's mostly who are you know who are audiences they're farcaster native but we may have folks who wander onto this and go what i don't know what you're talking about so if you can just give us a like a quick tldr on you and dune and then we'll jump into the specific broadcaster dashboard you created

3:05Speaker 2

sounds sounds good to me yeah so my name is andrew i work at dune my official title is headmaster which is just a way of saying that i help lead developer relations here at dune so my job is to teach everyone how to use dune how to query on dune how to build applications off of dune so what what is dune dune is kind of this it started as an analytics platform it's moved to be kind of much more than that it's everything from like a data warehouse to like a strong like api like system you can kind of think of it as like it's the place where everyone untangles all of the mess of on chain and off chain data so like people just chuck whether it's snapshot data or governance data or like i don't know like farcaster data onto here

3:53Speaker 0

gm gm farcaster data we have a new dashboard it just dropped it just dropped a couple of days ago so we have

4:00Speaker 2

a new dashboard i mean that's a good example of like dune is the place where people across the ecosystem like us kind of go and see oh what what's trending what's happening and if there's no dashboard for it someone one of our like thousands of wizards will we call our analyst wizards one of our thousands of wizards will come and untangle that data for you and then someone else will then come to that dashboard later

4:25Speaker 0

and

4:25Speaker 2

they can go and check the query everything's open source they can go build upon it and be like oh like they showed x y z about like viewership on gm forecaster i wanna see more information about collectors and like their personas and someone will go do that so it's kind of really like this it's this endless rabbit hole but at the very least you can find fun dashboards to kind of learn about the ecosystem learn about what's happening across like ethereum bitcoin solana literally almost every big ecosystem

4:55Speaker 0

so i find dune to be just amazing if you think about this from so i i'm an actual university professor and i teach a class on blockchain so i have an assignment where they have to i have a couple of assignments that relate to dune and i did incorporate it into my nfts in the metaverse class this semester where they had to they were researching a particular project they had certain ones assigned and they had to find 2 dashboards that related to them and dig into that data so that they had that real data it wasn't just self reported data right it's on chain it's provable it just to me is like very different from what we're used to in web 2 where the data is behind mostly mostly behind walls or behind 2 walls if you can get it you have to pay for it so in open source like i can pull anything kind of thing is just it's it's different it's unique it's very web 3 ethos public goods and i you know i can't say enough about dune and by the way shout out doctor dune sqx who helped us do our our is that who helped you do your dashboard that's who helped us do our dashboard i was like hey can you just do that thing because i i have no idea where to start so i just let you know he said sure and i just you know threw him some warps afterwards and and a little bit of ethan and he was like

6:10Speaker 2

that's awesome i need an he was great i need to shout him out later

6:13Speaker 0

shout out to doctor dune doctordune.eth yeah it's his it's his name as but he's sqx on on farcaster and and all all other places yeah he's great so he's been doing some work with little little nouns as well and doing some oh wow

6:28Speaker 2

i had little nouns that's a long time ago

6:30Speaker 0

cool i have a

6:31Speaker 2

firm of follow-up i'll reach out

6:32Speaker 0

to him yeah so so it was you know it was funny so we've just done that this week and then i see this dashboard pop up and we got tagged in your first of all one of our chatters thanks oxbit dropped it in our in our like chat and said hey have you seen this yet and i went oh i haven't seen that and it was but they sent me the twitter link i'm like is there a warp cast oh man on warp cast i'm like why did you drop this on twitter first but it was i was looking through the thread and watch the video and i was like wow this is fantastic so what inspired you to sort of jump in and create this dashboard and then let's sort of talk about you know what it's all about and i'm gonna just show on the screen sort of this was the twitter and you're not going to see it but the the audience is seeing twitter thread so go check that out

7:21Speaker 2

there's a war cast thread

7:22Speaker 0

there is a war cast thread as well oops there it is is a war cast thread as well and then a link to youtube so there's a youtube video highly recommend checking that out that is going to be really useful for those who want to walk through the dashboard but we're gonna do a little bit of that right now as well so what inspired you to put this together and then talk about like what is the data that it actually is is looking at

7:49Speaker 2

definitely i think one of the inspirations is definitely the fact that this is just not doable in web 2 like this is the like basically what this dashboard is doing is it's combining your identity data your social data and your transaction data

8:03Speaker 0

right

8:04Speaker 2

so to do that in web 2 you would need like stripe and played connections you would need twitter api you'd probably need like 2 or 3 other services as well that's at least

8:13Speaker 0

none of those work together none of them work together

8:16Speaker 2

right work together like just wrangling the identities is this whole service like by the time you've finished building that analysis you've built another company you know

8:24Speaker 0

oh man

8:24Speaker 2

and it's like 5 10 20 k a month at least so i was like i was looking at the data here on dune and i was like we have all the pieces i can put this together and like people can see that you can do like pretty complex social like plus transactional data analysis basically for free like anyone can go like this isn't just a cool dashboard for show anyone can go and click into a query learn how it's made and run it on like dune's free tier you know so that's pretty powerful as an example i also think analytics in this space kind of moves as like step functions so like someone has to make a big push and then a lot of people will make a bunch of incremental improvements and like deep dives until someone has another big idea and then it's like a step function again so i was like i've already worked with social and on chain data a lot over the past 5 5 or 10 years so i was like okay there's an easy way we can build like trending words trending users trending channels as a set of queries that like one if you're nontechnical you can still go in here and like learn from it use the filters but if you're technical you can start querying off of this data like these datasets instead of starting from scratch like starting from scratch it's still fine you can still learn to work with like data which is basically is the provider of farcaster data for us like you can go and build

9:48Speaker 0

it yourself so yeah

9:49Speaker 2

shout out man shout out shout out vincent they've got amazing amazing team so that's really the inspiration here is just like show people what's possible make it easier for both nontechnical and technical people to like go one step deeper and like see what we can learn see what we can build and also starting to put out some labels and tiers into it is also part of the fun because i think it's like it's an honest question of like if you're on reddit like how do you think reddit categorizes their subreddits like what do they like how do they label their users like that's something they've built up over 10 15 years but none of that's public so it's like okay now let's let's try to replicate that analysis publicly see what we can build so

10:35Speaker 1

amazing andrew you just said fun i just wanna you know when you're kind of doing everything but you're like and how do you make it fun which is just so the forecaster ethos of everything we're doing is like yeah be playful too it's amazing

10:46Speaker 2

exactly yeah yeah

10:47Speaker 0

i always talk about that nouns we just you know wrap everything in a box of fun i used to own the nouns box is it box noun box set noun so we always talk about that like that's what you know you can do the serious things and the data analysis and everything but if you make it fun then the what is it the most the best outcome is usually the most entertaining sort of sort of thing so you know definitely you know i think i think that's but there's another piece to this that i find really interesting is that we've we've talked a lot about this and nouns in particular of like trying to quantify an on chain reputation in some way and there's always been these missing pieces and a lot of that missing piece was the social layer that you couldn't really capture like from twitter and things like that and and instagram so if you just you know don't worry about that and just focus on warpcast and farcaster you can do that like you can connect that social layer and that to me is what's really interesting and exciting and different so i i love so you'd mentioned you you said something that i wanna just double click on really quick is you said that you've been looking at social data for a while so what can you speak to that just a little bit more where how what was what is that and then how do you see this like what's the unlocks here that change things

12:01Speaker 2

definitely yeah yeah i guess diving i mean diving a little bit into my background my background was more actually from the finance and like credit side i used to work at barclays so a lot of my analysis back then was really understanding like the relationships between entities at a financial level to understand like how credit healthy i guess they are more at an institutional level be like institutional smallmedium business so you started to learn a little things about like there's kind of three avenues that you track there's like ability to pay willingness to pay and like reliability of payments you know and like i think a lot of that like tracks into like the social element as well because like one of the first things i did when i entered the crypto space was i actually went to work at mir mir dot x y z it's like a decentralized publishing platform and i helped them do like a social based airdrop where the idea was like okay we have people like crowd funding each other buying each other's nfts voting for each other in what we call token race at the time a right race it's like can you start to create a graph based off of their transactions and voting of each other such that you can identify the key persons in that network so this gets a little technical but it's like there's a like there's ident like there's ident like there's a theory of called like betweenness centrality which is like if i have a graph like let's say i have 3 groups there's always gonna be a few people connecting those groups right so between the centrality is like the algorithm that tracks like if you go from person a to person b for every single person in the network which person c in the middle is crossed the most right so you can basically just think of like okay person like a to d cross through c person b to d cross through c you know so c is gonna have the highest between insatrality and we actually use that to do an airdrop to add in like choose which new members to bring into the platform first so it's like i've always been playing with like okay on more on the financial side or more on the social side trying to tie things together trying to understand people's intents but it's really hard to do without some sort of like bootstrapping of that reputation which is the social data as you mentioned so like having that now it's like i could now go back revisit the analysis that i did 2 years ago apply this on top and see like what new insights come out of it so it's it's super exciting

14:31Speaker 0

yeah that's really interesting so i want to i'm gonna show the dashboard on my screen so that our viewers can see it so you've got it sort of starts with trends at the top here and you pulled so for trends for you was pulling sort of the keywords that you're seeing trending is what i is what i'm getting from this and of course dgen is at the very top but what i was curious about is did you understand

15:01Speaker 2

why yeah i mean so the trending algorithm here is it's it's i guess i tried to keep it fairly simple i didn't wanna get too like quantitative with it but i mean the main driver here is just that it's being driven by active casters so active is like i copy that from the active badge criteria because i think like something if you're trending words like if you look at like google trends for words you have no idea the quality or the context of the user doing the search you know but in this case i can filter under the like under the hood here i'm like only looking at the frequency of like the number of casters or the number of times casted by active tier or higher so you can imagine i could go and edit this query or add a parameter to say okay let me filter for only trending words that influencers are saying and that might give you a completely different view of things but you're still able to keep the methodology simple of like there's number of casters and times casted you know like that's still easy to understand but you get to filter by channel filter by by user type we could get fancier with the user personas like you could lot like you could layer in like i want them to be an influencer and also have 400 transactions in the last month you know and that might give you a completely different signal like maybe those people don't talk about dj maybe it's mostly the people who are like under 200 transactions they're somewhat new to crypto this is maybe or you're not like maybe this is one of their first like apologies for my language like shit coins that they're playing with

16:38Speaker 0

that's an interesting you know that would be a really interesting analysis to see how much are we seeing in the vip and the influencer versus active versus what you call npc

16:48Speaker 1

right

16:49Speaker 0

so that's really interesting too i hadn't thought about that but i also was looking at this when i saw that i'm like i wonder if he even knows why degen's trending because if somebody's looking from outside you wouldn't know about tipping

17:01Speaker 2

you may not you may

17:02Speaker 0

not know like why is that you know particular one trending right now and i think like that's where for adrian and i this gets really fun is we can interpret the data based on what our knowledge of spending so much time in in the space like and be able to say oh this is why this is trending this week it's because of this thing that happened which i think is kind of fun you know for it so this is why it interested me so much i was like oh this is kinda cool

17:26Speaker 2

i i i can i can leak some alpha i'm working i'm working on a words dashboard basically where you should be able to click into a word because i have gotten this request because you can imagine clicking on the degen word it takes you to another dashboard and it shows you like on like a timeline who were the first people to use this word

17:44Speaker 0

was it that'd be cool

17:44Speaker 2

it's probably gonna be like vip and influencers first and then you see the long tail of like active users on it you know like you can see which channels is most active in which words are most frequently used in a cast that dgen has used it i just haven't like it's just one of those things where it's like i put this out there and like people are starting giving me these ideas like you are here like oh i want to be the why and so well

18:09Speaker 0

i can you know i can know the why already but it's really fun because when you say that you know it's gonna be really interesting if you do that with wow wow it will start it will start with an npc it will start with somebody very new and that's the first iteration of it but it then gets taken up by the influencer and vips and that's when it takes off and i think that's an interesting trend line there's a life cycle that exists but you know

18:34Speaker 2

see if it plays in the data yeah yeah yeah exactly

18:37Speaker 0

yeah so that's really fun and then you so you have this first trending words which i think was great and then we move down to user stats and that's where we get you know adrian's new social statuses so we've got npc which is less than 400 followers active which follows the same type of cat you know categorization that war cast does so 400 plus followers etcetera star is 1 k followers 5 plus casts and 5 k plus engagement score and i wanna talk about engagement score in just a second influencers 10 k followers 10 k 10 plus cast and 25 k engagement score and then vip is 50 k followers 10 plus cast and 50 k plus engagement score and so for vips we only have 27 62 influencers and then it goes up from there 585 star active is 2 2599 right now and then we have you know over 85,000 who we who you categorize as mpc so talk about engagement score and what is that and how did you come up with that like sort of concept

19:44Speaker 2

yeah i mean i think the concept is just like trying to come up with like a one weighted metric for like in measuring engagement i think every platform has weights obviously platforms like instagram and twitter the weighting becomes a lot more complex because it like they'll weight like stuff like do you have a word in your cast do you have a link in your cast so i was just like again my my key thing here is like i think a lot of data people go way too complex way too quickly so i'm like okay i think it's people important people get the mentality of like a reply is worth more than a recast a recast is worth more than a like in a way that like still makes sense to someone who's not like deep in like algorithms and models so like this kind of waiting just made sense to me and a lot of this is me like i'm putting this out there and just seeing the feedback people give me it's like oh maybe they don't agree with this maybe they

20:39Speaker 0

just do it how are you how are you waiting so what's the engagement score made up of

20:43Speaker 2

yes what is that yeah so the the engagement score is number of likes plus number of recasts times 3 plus number of replies times 10 so for the active user when it's a 100 plus engagement score basically that's saying as long as i got one reply or if i got a 100 likes or like 33 recasts or something as long as i got one of those or some combination then i'm active what warp cast says is you gotta you have a cast that has at least one like or one reply you know and one reply i think is like a requirement so it's meant to be super simple and the tiering

21:25Speaker 0

that's a

21:25Speaker 2

good thing yeah the tiering of it is fairly arbitrary i just kind of played with it in terms of like like okay this kind of like because like engagement like i think followers is still easy in terms of like no matter what platform you're on like there's a threshold of like what followers means in terms of your level is pretty simple but engagement on twitter is very different from engagement on instagram it's very different from engagement on warpcast versus supercast you know so i think there's complexity there that's going to be like very hard to capture over time especially because you have to think about like reactions on warpcast are kind of just a warpcast concept like if you look at the data on a hub like is just reaction type equal 1 and recast is just reaction type equal 2 someone could add a whole new way of reacting called type equal 3 and that messes up kind of like the whole algorithm and like our mental state of like oh what does this what does this really mean you know so i think it's gonna be wild to learn

22:29Speaker 0

you know what would be really interesting what i'd love to see and i have no idea if this can be done is yep does a cast with a different type of reaction button get more engagement so for example if you put goggles if you put nouns glasses in your post yeah that button turns into nouns glasses instead of a heart the low point if you put wow wow it turns into wow wow if you

22:55Speaker 2

put if

22:56Speaker 0

you put the hat degen if you put degen sorry it turns into the hat so i'm just curious if like it does that impact engagement and i have no idea my guess is probably but i i assume but also which one does it is it all or is it just certain ones

23:11Speaker 2

i don't know interesting

23:12Speaker 0

so that would be interesting as well and that's something that's unique to warfcast right because yeah yeah you know that doesn't happen elsewhere yeah so that's interesting too but also i have another question i don't know if you realize that but you know you you start to lose likes when your storage fills up so so does that then impact anything and i don't know because yeah i don't i don't really think it because my storage is like that's that i know is already maxed out i like liberally and i i don't care and i know that so at some point like i know they're disappearing on the old ones on the back end and i just don't know if that then impacts anything so so that's something just to consider i guess yeah i guess we'll find out yeah yeah which is kinda interesting

23:54Speaker 2

yeah storage dynamics are gonna be interesting especially for bots

23:57Speaker 0

it's something different for yeah it's something different for warcast that doesn't exist or for forecaster that doesn't exist elsewhere so it's kinda yeah i'm excited

24:04Speaker 1

to i'm almost ready to start buying more storage

24:07Speaker 0

i know just for the likes i've i've got plenty for everything else

24:11Speaker 1

i think i haven't cared about losing things in the past it just like be in the moment the past is the past yeah and and then i saw shoney with like 250 he was like following 250,000 people or something

24:23Speaker 0

oh yeah and i

24:24Speaker 1

was like how do you do that there's a limit and he's like i i need the most storage and i'm like i buy more i wanna yeah

24:30Speaker 0

buy more yeah isn't that funny i know i and i you know if you would ask me a couple years ago would you pay for storage on

24:39Speaker 2

oh my

24:39Speaker 0

god social platform i'd be like what are you out of your mind

24:41Speaker 2

are you talking about i wouldn't

24:43Speaker 0

why would i do that and now i'm like why wouldn't i do that you know i especially if i get rid of ads you know if i get rid of ads in the in the that's a good trade off to me what were you gonna say adrienne

24:53Speaker 1

now i'd say interesting use case because now the question is oh if my likes are being like now i have this trail

24:59Speaker 0

yeah

25:00Speaker 1

and now it's being used to calculate a social status or social score and currency and if i lose that do i lose you know kind of

25:08Speaker 2

good try raymond

25:10Speaker 1

and then all of a sudden are people more likely to want to buy storage if it matter if it affects you know kind of what they keep talking about it's affecting other people

25:20Speaker 0

right because it's not light on other people's cash it's not but then again i do like myself often which i which was shown in my the grin created something where it showed your i think it's i think it was using something similar for your data of like who who you like the most and i guess who you mentioned the most and

25:39Speaker 2

and yourself

25:40Speaker 0

in in my i was on the list i wasn't top okay i was happy that i wasn't the first one but i was on my on my own list no dwr was my was my one true love sorry adrian you were second it's kinda funny but i you know i cast every time i cast gm farcaster i tag people so i think that's what it was pulling from as well so it was it was kinda funny makes sense but it was it was kind of similar data pulling i think at that at that point because it was relating to who you mentioned who you tag and who you like the likes that you you know do so that's kind of interesting it's a little it's really for your friends then buy more storage so you don't ruin your friend's status symbol

26:22Speaker 2

that's a good that's a good marketing

26:24Speaker 0

that that should be what they put in

26:25Speaker 2

the war cast app when they say hey you're running out of storage like do you wanna lose your friend oops

26:29Speaker 0

do you wanna lose your friend well

26:31Speaker 1

this goes back last week we talked about the what jack is doing with icebreaker and using the ethereum accreditation service to you know it doesn't mean you need to save every like and every hub for right forever but i can start capturing other social scores and kind of putting that in the profile there's you know obviously you've got the og nft that drop you know so there's probably other indicators that we could use in the future oh yeah the og

26:59Speaker 0

yes it's gonna be the og and held the og and held didn't sell is is important because you could buy the og right that's true

27:07Speaker 2

that's true

27:08Speaker 0

we don't sell we don't sell that's our new flat we know people who've we ignore a 4.9 floor price well you know people who've bought the og that we like so we do we do it's true it's true we don't blame the people who bought it i'm just saying

27:24Speaker 1

i don't blame the people who sold it either

27:26Speaker 0

i don't blame the people who sold it either i have a feeling we're gonna look back and go we were crazy

27:32Speaker 1

how are we doing

27:33Speaker 0

it's not it's but that's on brand so it's fine how

27:37Speaker 1

we doing 91 minutes bruv

27:39Speaker 0

i know we're i know we've blown past it so i wanna just i wanna go i wanna jump into a couple more things because you have this trending i'm showing the the dashboard again you have trending forecaster users i thought this was really interesting so this part you can do some filtering which is really i i played around with this a little bit by the way this got me to set up a new account cause i hadn't i just been using the free part but i was like oh okay i'm gonna sign up

28:05Speaker 2

oh awesome

28:06Speaker 0

so there you go to be able to sort you know based on new users who've come in and then take a look at like how many followers they've gotten see who's who's you know up and coming and i thought that was really interesting and you also have a way to filter this by token so i could essentially grab and you use nouns as an example which is another reason i i really liked your your video so you could pop the like a contract in for any nft project or token and then filter by that and see who's trending which i thought that was really really useful could be very useful especially for channels and things like that if you're trying to identify new followers that like hey have you checked out our channel because it relates to

28:51Speaker 2

you're like a holder or yeah exactly yeah yeah i think yeah you can get pretty creative here and like because you can combine you can combine any of these so like you could say like like i could track users that nounish professor has reacted to in the last week hold announce token you know and i could set the user days old to be like 180 so that in that case it's just show me basically all users you've reacted to who hold announced token

29:19Speaker 0

it's probably all of them yeah by the way if you check my followers if they're new chances are they have noggles of them following up if they're 7 days old because that's probably have that in their pfp somehow that makes sense that's the that's my indicator of yes i will follow you if i don't know you if i don't know you so moving down to all active users that was pretty cool so that's all the activity and yep that is oh i know what i wanted to ask you about so yeah everyone i got a little concerned i was like how come and this was yesterday i'm i'm like how come my account's a 161 days old and then i saw that so was dwrs and i'm like oh never mind so that is the oldest point that you're going back to and it i'm assuming that's when it it went on optimism as i'm get as

30:08Speaker 2

i'm guessing 99% sure yeah that's when the things went on chain and they kind of moved out of beta that's when stuff like nana kicked up so that's i i haven't gotten through the thought of it but i'm like 99% like there's no other reasonable explanation

30:22Speaker 0

so because my first thought was like i've been here longer than a 161 days i got all like i'm gonna send him and then i was like oh wait a minute i was like oh wait dwr has got the same thing i'm fine i'm fine it's not it's not me i was like you're wrong like oh no it's all wrong it's fine i got very upset

30:43Speaker 0

i know again you know we're a little crazy and then scrolling down just a little bit more to the channel stats because i thought this was this was really really cool you've categorized these in different tiers where you have stadium subculture niche friends and quiet and different trending as well so you can sort by you know how old the the channel is similar to the users filter by the name channel held token address so what does that mean exactly that like what can i do with that

31:18Speaker 2

so you could put nouns in there as well and you could basically see what are the top trending channels that nouns holders are casting in so it's kind of like you because you might wanna see now trending nouns users and then you might also wanna say like okay there's like a 100 trending noun users where are they going you know and so that you can put it in the email

31:38Speaker 0

where they're hanging out and what are they interested in that's interesting okay that's very cool that could be some really interesting data and by the way just you know we're using nouns as an example but yes you can use any token that doesn't matter

31:50Speaker 2

any any erc 20 token or any nft great

31:53Speaker 0

i was like so we can do this for pudgies luca it's okay which actually that kind of thing would be super interesting for him so i need to let him know that because i think he'd he'd find that incredibly helpful so that's there's a lot for brands there that you know and and for us we can go and look at who holds a gm farcaster token one of our episodes and where are they where are they spending time and how can we better connect with our holders so you know hopefully they're spending time in gm forecaster but if they're not we need to you know yeah make sure they i mean yeah make sure they know we're here

32:28Speaker 2

yeah i think that's that's like another whole dashboard someone could build just off of this to go deeper on like like this would show you the trend like the top channels that people are in but you might want to know like the top channels that like ranked by how active these holders are

32:42Speaker 0

you know

32:42Speaker 2

like there's extra layers you might wanna add on top that i i didn't do here but i'm sure people are already doing so

32:49Speaker 0

and then so looking at like what your your tiers that you've created here so niche is like 25 plus casts and and 5,000 plus engagement score again how are you for channels what is your engagement score made up of

33:04Speaker 2

yeah so the engagement score here is just the like it still likes recasts and replies but it's across all casts in that channel so if there are a 100 casts in that channel last week what was the total engagement score of those casts

33:20Speaker 0

okay interesting okay that's very cool yeah so fan gm forecast fans if you could start casting a little more that'd be great in the channel just saying you know just throw throw something on there

33:31Speaker 2

pump up pump up that score

33:32Speaker 0

yeah we need to we need to move ourselves from friends to niche eventually yeah yeah we'd like to get there now i have a again new status new status symbols just dropped babe we we gotta get now we have goals and then you had like all active forecaster channels so you can go through and see those stats yes there's so much here like this is like serious heavy heavy data like there's i can't wait to see what comes from this like what people build off of this because i think there's so much here and i think that might even be something for maybe purple to incentivize as a dao to incentivize some vendors to to sort of dive in and and pull some other you know sub dashboards if you will so i might even throw a prop up for that because that could be really definitely

34:22Speaker 2

yeah i'm continuing to work with one of my coworkers jackie she's also devrel we're working on a bunch of like api endpoints based off of these queries so that like teams like well not teams but users like fun for example like for like userfarcasterstats.com or farcaster user stats.com

34:39Speaker 0

farcaster user stats yeah

34:41Speaker 2

yeah can include this kind of data in like the user search you know cool so we're we're actively gonna be working more with the farcaster ecosystem both for dashboards on dune and like applications or frames you can build a frame off of a dune api so you could use this query filter it specifically for a frame so if you want to have something that's like a frame that you can only claim if you're a vip you could build that you know so possibilities are endless i'm gonna be i've been active on warp cast i'm gonna get even more active

35:16Speaker 0

oh yeah i think you just got you just got sucked in i saw you were made a channel host in data in the data channel and yeah they're like oh come on in yeah they're gonna eat you up they're this

35:26Speaker 2

is fantastic

35:28Speaker 0

this is i will share sorry i know we're coming

35:29Speaker 2

up on time i will share i i have my own little on chain community called the bite explorers i'll i'll pop up the dashboard link

35:39Speaker 0

and we'll share that we'll share that in the show notes that's awesome

35:43Speaker 2

yeah we're we're gonna launch some fun experiments on farcaster where it's like if you hold a certain token and like if you earn a question token basically for asking good questions then your cast will get spotlighted by a bot and hopefully then people from my community will come and answer your questions so basically it's it's kind of this trying to do a curation system based on tokens on top of our caster so

36:08Speaker 0

do you have a channel as well for this community

36:10Speaker 2

yes there's there's quite explored in the channel still still building stuff up getting things in the works but fun experience

36:18Speaker 0

or is it or is it friends or is it niche what is it what is it

36:21Speaker 2

i think it's friends

36:22Speaker 0

it's friends

36:23Speaker 2

i don't think we're quiet i actually we might be quiet i didn't cast much

36:26Speaker 0

of it this week but alright

36:27Speaker 2

we've got we've got a 130 people in the on chain community that are all like top analysts engineers across the ecosystem so we're i'm trying to engage all the data people to like move from twitter onto onto webcast

36:40Speaker 0

so move on over we love we love we we will appreciate you more than twitter will we're gonna tell you right now we're we're gonna love your we're gonna love your data so much yeah so the other thing i wanna point out one more thing all of these are links so when you see when you're looking at channel name it will bring you to the channel so if you see some interesting channel or some interesting user and you wanna learn more and go to either go to the channel or go to their profile you just click on the links that are in in here and that to me was very cool because that just makes it so much easier to then engage with like oh i found this cool person they're in this they're spending a lot of time over here i want them to come spend over time or i wanna just know more or whatever it is or maybe we wanna interview them whatever it is i can now just click on that and and go check out their profile or check out their channel which i think yeah is huge unlock that's huge

37:32Speaker 2

yes yeah i think yeah the growth like the usefulness of this for just marketing and crm is insane like you can probably find your next like 20 guests just by seeing like okay like what channels are we interested in and like who's actually trending as like a builder in there who's new and maybe is like like either an older builder or a newer builder you know you can toggle however you want so excited all of

37:54Speaker 0

the media companies your this part of the show is gonna be blocked to you you will not be able to have that bit of alpha that is just for us kidding abundance mindset i'm sorry adrianne i'm getting my my abundance mindset but i mean that's a that's a really you know if i need to know okay i see that this word is trending this channel's popping off who do i talk to about it i can then get that data and immediately go to their profile and go oh this is the person we should be talking to they seem to be you know the one who's who's you know most engaged and and know what's going on so that's pretty that's amazing amy i've been i've been talking nonstop what what questions do you have that maybe i didn't i know we have to wrap but that we didn't get to

38:39Speaker 1

i mean no more questions i think you said it all it's just it's incredible to see the promise of web 3

38:47Speaker 2

actually yeah

38:47Speaker 1

like all the pieces coming together of the social layer like and again it's not because and it's because i mean dune's not a young company and you guys have been building and building this thing

38:59Speaker 2

yeah yeah

39:00Speaker 1

so to see the different decentralized kind of little like composable pieces all click together and then the power of it it's just it's

39:10Speaker 2

so inspiring

39:11Speaker 0

it's amazing

39:11Speaker 2

it's amazing

39:12Speaker 1

it's it's just it's incredible

39:14Speaker 0

yeah and and i just can't wait to see what comes from this

39:18Speaker 1

like

39:18Speaker 2

oh yeah this is just like i i keep telling people i'm like this is the 1% like this is like the 99% in terms of web 2 if like if you solve this in for web 2 you'd be like that's it that's the limit everything else is private but i'm trying to tell people like this is like the first step in the step function there's so much more we can build with this like keep keep keep going keep learning keep building so

39:41Speaker 0

i have one other question for you

39:43Speaker 1

keep building exactly

39:45Speaker 0

love it what what feedback have you gotten has it changed anything that you might tweak and like what's the overall sentiment been i'm assuming incredibly positive but has there been any comments or anything that you were like oh i didn't think about that or something that you wanna change

40:02Speaker 2

yeah i mean i mean it's sense i mean people have been pretty excited about it the only negative sentiment i've got is they don't like being called an mpc some people

40:11Speaker 2

which i think is fair i was debating i was like okay do i make it a friendly name or do i make it a funny name and i was like you know what people the most

40:19Speaker 0

the best outcome is on sports marketing

40:21Speaker 1

yeah i'm like people okay i don't like i don't like npc either but i also didn't like mole and i didn't like because it like things that start out little mean spirited but forecasting has a way of taking things that are mean in spirit but like throwing it on the feed with so much love and humor so i think we can do the same for npc people will hate it people will proudly wear it

40:42Speaker 0

there's gonna be i i guarantee you probably by the end of the day there'll be some nft that only the npcs can claim or something like that or some like i'm only giving my d gen if you're a primitives

40:52Speaker 2

the reverse the reverse active

40:54Speaker 0

yeah it'll be the reverse active

40:56Speaker 2

that's hilarious

40:57Speaker 1

what quick question from the chat for people new to dune if people know splunk well will they be able to pick up dune easily

41:07Speaker 2

i don't know what splunk is

41:09Speaker 1

i don't know

41:09Speaker 0

what splunk is

41:09Speaker 1

oh splunk's enterprise like it it's a but it it like whatever we don't have the answer you don't have to answer it andrew we'll

41:17Speaker 2

i never i never worked in web 2 i weren't straight into web 3 so i don't know a lot of

41:21Speaker 1

i'll just say i actually think anyone like there's tutorials on dune if you understand data you'll have to kind of learn a little dune sql y type language but you can figure it out

41:32Speaker 0

so i was

41:33Speaker 2

gonna say i i have a newsletter cryptodatabites.com i've got over 60 articles with videos and tutorials on there just like talking everything about web 3 data about the tools about how to learn sql about how to use these dashboards so

41:51Speaker 1

and the beauty of of dune is if you learn dune you can learn dune to query farcaster data but you can query

41:58Speaker 2

yes you get the whole thing

41:59Speaker 1

like it's all crypto data so it's like i'm like this point where you have to install into your own yeah kind of and

42:04Speaker 0

and it

42:04Speaker 2

applies to any company you go to like you don't have to relearn the company's data stack it's like oh you know dune you are now immediately employable at any crypto company

42:14Speaker 0

oh look at that

42:15Speaker 2

and the hiring speed is insane i i've gotten 8 or 9 like job op like job openings sent to me just in the last week so we're hiring

42:25Speaker 0

you're probably gonna get 600 more by the end of this you know interview for real yeah because it's you know and i've said that to students too especially my computer science computer and software engineering students i'm like you guys should be doing that if you can dive in and learn this it's gonna be a huge skill and they don't listen they go no i wanna work for microsoft i'm like oh okay you know what you know i'm like okay

42:48Speaker 2

don't do it

42:49Speaker 0

i know i'm like i tried i tried oh no i know but they but they they i don't i think because they're not used to it also they looked at it and they go wait it's all open i'm like yes go go learn it i'm like i can't help you with this part you gotta go figure it out

43:04Speaker 2

out yeah yeah yeah yeah

43:05Speaker 0

yeah but if you dive in you'll you're gonna be able to figure it out which is pretty cool yes i think it's amazing any other last notes adrian or andrew like any other things as we wrap

43:18Speaker 1

i'll let andrew go first

43:20Speaker 2

i think i think i'm good i think i've i've talked enough

43:23Speaker 0

it's amazing and also he does have a walk through video it's on twitter or on youtube it's too long it's too long for war cast

43:32Speaker 2

yeah i tried uploading it it hit the limit and i was like damn okay

43:36Speaker 0

too long

43:37Speaker 1

well video is still not even launched to everyone so it's still only to it's not

43:41Speaker 2

well okay yeah

43:41Speaker 0

it's not i'm sorry if you're an npc andrew or i'm not i'm not you may not

43:47Speaker 2

i don't know i'm a star i made star like did

43:50Speaker 0

i okay can i

43:51Speaker 2

can i tweak star tier to make sure i hit it can't stop

43:55Speaker 0

oh conspiracy theory great we get to end with a conspiracy theory i love it

44:01Speaker 1

but i will i'll give a shout out i am doing an ama on jam friends today i was just gonna say in at 11 est nanaesh prabh did hers on tuesday so check that out it's in the ama channel and can we talk

44:14Speaker 0

44:22Speaker 1

photo that is

44:25Speaker 0

i love it fantastic

44:27Speaker 1
