people in your dms going hey can you cast no i cannot so this is from varun at v w c status both our hubs went down for unrelated reasons at the same time for the 40 minutes that it took to recover warp cast suffered stability issues messages from warp cast were not sent to other clients messages from other clients didn't make it to warp cast everything should be back to normal now and it was except we had duplicate casts go out for many users during the degraded performance and downtime earlier so check your profile and delete any duplicates

you can you get on are you and i'm like no i cannot get on right now it's not just you also from varun popular channels get a lot of spam and manual moderation is hard to scale and decentralized so proposal hosts can turn on a fee in settings users must pay 100 warps before they can post if banned user must pay the fee again before posting which is interesting fees go to host if you were a channel lead would you use this so there's been a lot of discussion in we have a little host chat and there's been a lot of discussion about different ways to sort of token gate or or figure out a way to sort of manage some of these channels especially larger ones i personally want some token gating for some of the dao channels at least i think that could be really helpful but i also want a way to manually override that as well this was a different approach i hadn't thought about so what do you think about a pay for play channel and would that be something you would use and i'm really curious because you host a couple of channels right now so
well i'm thinking of of nouns where i'm one of many cohosts in the channel and we do have issues from time to time with spam in fact it was so bad a few weeks ago
that that's why we ended up with with us
my me a coop i it was a frame i had a frame for yellow collector that got a little too successful and people were scrambling trying to figure out how to get the get the nft after it sold out and and they just started like swarming into into nouns for some reason anyway dwr at that point turned it on so you had to be an active badge holder to post which i think swung the pendulum too far in the other direction now there's some really great community members who maybe don't have 400 followers yet and they're getting there but right now their you know posts are being hidden about nams esports and stuff so that's not ideal i think the best the best solution i had heard honestly was from chris carella who said maybe we could figure it out where there's like a friends of friends where like if you if if 5 active badge holders follow you you're probably not a bot or something like that i think that's probably better but having said that like yeah if if it's easier if it's easier across the platform to implement something like the 100 warps pay per play it's not ideal because i i really like it to be like a a safe place where anyone can come and post but if if that sort of gets everybody who wants to be there to be able to be there and post it maybe it's worth it
i think it's good for certain channels i think you know nouns would not be one that i would put a pay for play on nor builder or any of the ones that i currently host but i can see that use case for especially for subscription based channels that connect with some kind of pay anyway but again i think the nft way is probably easier because even with nouns what you could do is have multiple nfts it could be anyone from you know nouns little nouns nars and you'd cover a huge amount of people that even if they didn't have an active badge would be covered to post that we know are trusted folks and that we'd want to be able to have that access so i think there's different ways to approach it but i think it really depends on the channel so i'm curious
or you could just do like a true nouns fan open edition yeah you know

yesterday and he dropped that we're like oh my god i haven't even heard about the airdrop was was coming i casted about this yesterday too about how like this is exactly how airdrop should happen in my opinion they shouldn't be expected i mean they kind of expect everyone knows that there's a certain number of airdrops that are coming from op and if you're in their governance you'll know when they're coming but if you're not then it's gonna come as a full surprise and it should be like this where people are like wow this is like money from the sky for using something earnestly you know not not just for like questioning or not just for you know digging around and doing things on a on a chain but actually using it the way they're intended to be used and yeah that was really really great to see incredible when i first when i first saw the airdrop i read through quickly and i was like okay this is mostly for people who created nfts on l twos but as i kinda find out talking to people later in the day it wasn't just people who created nfts on the l twos it was also people who had done a lot of creation in like early nfts like in 2021 2022 so like i'll give bony as an example i was talking to him he's like dude i like i almost maxed out this air drop this is crazy i was like oh what have you meant it on l 2 like did i miss based bony he's like what's going on here and he was like no he's like this is just from bony's and so it's cool to see someone who created something amazing you know it obviously had like a flurry of activity during the the frost of 2021 it's just been solid state since then and like this is like he just told me like i my car just broke down sorry to put you on blast there bode but he's like my car just broke down this is like a car drop you know what i mean like it's not yeah

you know on the on chain media piece too i wanted to sort of comment on how farcaster is really helping be that last link link in the chain for for on chain but you too because as as you mentioned we've been minting 0 pods for well basically since we started doing them last august i think so for quite some time yes that's right july so now now that we could do a pod or we can do another video like the one we did just did recently on farcaster 101 we can put it on farf and it's great because you can actually put the video in line now because we we have video and then you can put you can you can boost the the the mint and have like your zuora boosted mint right underneath it so it's kinda like getting close to the holy grail for for on channel creators where here's the content and if you liked it you can mint it and collect it and here's the mint all in the same cache
