it felt like he's threatening us with a good time that's what i think i i feel like i took that as a threat it did feel a little intimidating i don't know if it was intended that way but i was like oh should i be scared but i believe what we're talking about here is cast actions which will be i believe going live today and with that i don't know because this feels like to me

yeah i'm excited to find out too because i think i for me i always need to see it in action to fully understand what's going on because i'm not i'm not i'm just i'm just a little techie i'm not a big techie so a little difficult for me to understand and then we also had some we had some spam updates here spam filtering is coming to warpcast over the last 3 months we've labeled thousands of this is from me by the way we've labeled thousands of spammy accounts by hand and action has carefully trained an ml model to do this automatically we're rolling out this model starting today it will significantly improve the user experience more about this spam is posting irrelevant content in public spaces to farm reactions and followers some example posting irrelevant replies to someone's cast posting relevant content in a channel mentioning or recasting users unnecessarily here's one from a few minutes ago hi that's a reply if you had just said wow wow i mean if you just knew you would have been just fine but nope you went with i with 2 i's warpcast won't show casts from spammers in public spaces they won't show up in the channels replies and notifications of people who don't follow them so if you're following the person you may still see it warp cast does promise that content will always be visible to followers sufficient decentralization even if a user is labeled spamming our spam model is going to start labeling new accounts today and over time we'll roll out to 100% of accounts the labels aren't visible at this time though we plan to make them publicly available to other applications just like power badge and i did appreciate this hasta la vista baby the model spam and i believe this was in reference to art lou's comment i wanna build my own terminator with an owner's manual not actions carefully trained one and of course dan's response was if you want this build your own client because that is often dan's standard reply build your own client that's what you want so it's like your dad it's like your dad scolding you on a regular basis

it's the because i said so of war cast so what do you think about have you noticed any differences yet with spaminess i have in general over the past couple weeks but i didn't notice too much spam better

i saw more spam but then i saw them making those those adjustments and i did see a decrease of me missing it so how are you feeling right now about it all

we don't have to fix it somebody else does but i do think it's yeah i i've seen some i've definitely seen some improvement in my feeds i still need to tweak them a little bit i feel like i'm still not there's certain people i'm still not seeing and i don't know why so i do need to make some adjustments there sometimes i have to go looking for certain certain things or they show up in my notifications for people i have on but that's it so i need to do some tweaking but i think we're getting better i think we're getting a little better

a human yeah you would think you have to automate some of this because it gets crazy i just had to do some stuff it it you definitely feel like in general the the the grifters are back where they were gone for a while because the bull market's back or pre bull or whatever you wanna call it but i've seen that in the disc in the discord that i manage and it's starting to feel like we're starting to get those spammy things that i haven't seen for years so it was like oh oh boy okay so i had some auto mod things in there to make sure that yeah because otherwise i'm gonna be constantly it's whack a mole whack a mole block report block report yep so definitely all the things have to happen now because we're we're there it's getting getting crazy but i did appreciate and i did appreciate artlou's response here too that that's exactly what he's doing he's playing with his own spam his baby spam squasher bots and well as supporting others who are building useful components so i thought that was pretty cool moving on we also have some there's also a new way to connect your address book to discover people you know on farcaster this is opt in i live like bit florist ghost oh no i'm not falling for this one

no why would i none of the people in my address book which are from my cell phone world even want to be on farcaster like no they're definitely not there nor do they wanna be and that's fine like no well i i'm you know it's the the opposite for me i'm meeting new friends instead

yeah i don't think i ever i think facebook was the only one i did that and i'm talking about in 2009 yeah when you know i mean that made sense at that point because i would otherwise wouldn't have been able to find anybody but now no no no don't but to dan's point he said it's opt in if you don't wanna do it don't do it one of the biggest complaints from new users is people can't find their friends so that's a fair fair assessment

okay and this you know ted's response was 1 for the home feed okay 2 notifications feed dante's inferno and 3 do for channel favorite channel feed don't look anymore because it was bad previously so i thought that was that was interesting the notifications feed i think it depends on your activity level and how many like different types of notifications you're getting like i'm getting a lot of replies from people you don't know and that can be good and bad i'll just say that when i was doing the pearl game that one day replies from people i didn't know was probably something i shouldn't have bothered looking at but normally i will go look just to see if there's anybody new i should be following you know what i mean things like that so what do what were you gonna say

this is just a frame this is isn't a castception how about castception this frame uses pinata farcaster auth api and farcaster api to authenticate a user through the frame and send a cast through the frame so i was able to just type in i put in just the little noggles up here and then it sent this whole thing with the frame as my cast and then you can go and do the same thing and we have this little ongoing chain of casts so kinda cool
