https://youtu.be/wDIQjTZh8L0Morning is over here in the 808 state, and after watching all of the /basecamp vids, casts, and announcements; all of the @moxie.eth adoption and auctions; the /wufs vibechecks, the /gmfarcaster updates; taken together with last night's /latenightcrew hilarious conclusion, you can see clearly what the answer is to why people are going to come to Farcaster. It's the collective basket, the cultural movement of services, features, stories, and relationships that are going to draw them away from the closed networks of trad social. The benefits of FC/WC become clearer through the range of "oh, you can do this" and "you can do that" being created each day, leading to the inevitable "maybe I should try it". As their friends and their friends start to find their way here, the friction reduces until there is no excuse and the world opens to the potential that being part of a decentralized, open source social graph unlocks. Bullish for the future on FC. LFGO. ✌️ 😁
We’ll be back tomorrow morning with a recap of /basecamp001 but for now I’ll drop some pix in this thread throughout the day! @moshicam IRL with @adrienne
i created $KECCAR, so jump in loser we're buying @keccers.eth a car as an alternative to party dao, and you can then trade this memecoin mint 👉 memecoins.science/#/8453/0x9e8486eD58bB349381910028432372CD65483020 *all proceeds, including fees, will go directly to @keccers.eth* **i transferred 1,000,000 $KECCAR to @keccers.eth, everything else i buy with my own eth** 30 eth for 69,420,000 $KECCAR
It's funny how sometimes we're like, "Great cast, here's $0.02!" and other times we're like, "Let's buy this person a car!"
Once more, with feeling
Zora rewards go to the party https://zora.co/collect/base:0xc9994fb87ff04d40c6dd1eb6b4913afaa4641ac8/1
ok lets do this this is the official party for crowdfunding the purchase of a shitty car for @keccers.eth so she does not need to battle homeless people with machetes in austin as part of her commute https://base.party.app/party/0xD054394df406314369D78fB367058c6bDFC028D6
A lot of chatter recently about Farcaster, marketing and expanding beyond crypto I have yet to see a crisp definition of: 1. What problem does Farcaster solve for people outside of crypto today? 2. What evidence exists that existing at-scale free social networks and paid creator tools / platforms are insufficient in serving these people? 3. Assuming this population exists, what channel (i.e. tactics) do you market Farcaster to said people? I'm not asking for free work, fwiw. It's our job to figure to this out (we don't have an answer for this question ourselves). But hiring a "marketing team" when you don't have an answer to this question is not going to solve the problem. Marketing works great when you have a clear value prop and target market and channel.
sharing the % breakdown of the cost to build on top of Farcaster: 1. fast database (30%) 2. an indexer for hub (20%) 3. AI (15%) 4. recommendations (5%) 5. data inference, API, etc. (~10%) majority of early cost will be running a performant database ecosystem.
Happy 9th birthday Ethereum!! Our @ethereumfilm documentary team released a short film “Community.eth” to celebrate 100% of mint proceeds go to @protocolguild to support Ethereum R&D maintainers https://zora.co/collect/base:0x8bbce470617ba666c8f1fae0094c837268716398/2?referrer=0x5e349eca2dc61aBCd9dD99Ce94d04136151a09Ee
Experiment: Hiding power badges Power badges will be hidden on Warpcast for a week. We’re running this experiment because: 1. New user find it hard to get follows due to “power badge bias” 2. Power badge isn’t being used much in Warpcast anymore.
All based on survey. 🤣🤣🤣
