How are people feeling about announcements? 1. When they first launched, a bunch of complaints about them being too spammy. 2. Another population of people claim they never check the channels tab. If we were to move announcements into the All / Priority tab (vs. keeping them in Channels), how would you feel?

Yesterday a political canvasser rang my doorbell and I did a thing I’ve never done before. I answered the doorbell and talked to the guy. I asked him a few questions about the congressman he was volunteering for. And then I spent even more time telling him about crypto and why it matters to me as a voter, and asked him to bring the message back to the candidate. Saw a few casts grumbling about the next iteration of frames Clearing up misconceptions: 1. We circulated earlier versions of the public draft with a dozen or teams who are actively building frames. 2. Existing frames will continue to work as is. If people continue to build them and they have meaningful usage, we will support them. 3. Our goal with the changes is to give developers *more* surface area to build better experiences and *more* reliability for one shot actions like transactions (still clunky today). 4. Frames are just links. So other clients can choose to adopt or not and they will start work. 5. Frames are Farcaster primitives not just Warpcast because they contain social context, e.g. a user’s FID

just discovered this in my wallet, i’ve been carrying it for months

Day 19 of my zero following experiment. 1. It’s really hard to keep up with what’s going on inside of Farcaster. I forgot how much I depend on my network to keep me in the loop. But the main reason I did this was that I wasn’t seeing enough of the people I wanted to see. I had to rely on setting notifications for them and even that didn’t always work. Now I stalk about 15 peoples profiles daily and use group chats heavily. 2. My home feed is weird. For a while it struggled but now it mostly shows me very engaged posts in channels I follow. This is AWESOME. I don’t want to trending feed button. I want a “trending in the channels you follow” button. This is way more likely to lead to content discovery. I see so much from these channels that I wouldn’t organically see because I don’t follow most of the folks who were posting there. My feed is full of /yellow and /superrare and /nature photos and art and I love it. Show me the best of each channel so I can find cool people.

Of course that’s your contention. You’re new to Farcaster, right? You probably just read some thread on ‘How to Optimize Your Timeline by Hiding Bots.’ So now you think it’s the golden solution. But next week, you’ll be on about ‘boosting authentic engagement,’ and then in a month, it’ll be ‘custom algorithms for power users’ like it’s the answer to everything. And you’ll probably toss in ‘community-driven moderation’ like it’s some brand-new revelation.

Memecoins are less of a serious thing if you look at them like prediction markets. Sell = bet No Buy = bet Yes Every memecoin will end (collapse) Unfortunately, I don't think most retail users see it this way, and they will get burned. Probably an opportunity for a safer more transparent experience.

Case-in-point… it’s simply not accidental that @martin’s AI experiment is working in a special way *on Farcaster*. Worth reflecting on why this is.

pure memecoins are a pyramid scheme that will collapse as soon as A) the same people keep winning (as this means the average person is losing $ consistently) and B) new buyers entering the system are exhausted (there's a limited amount). A is already happening (KOLs are driving token prices top down) & not sure how much of B is left. History rhymes - exact same thing happened with NFTs.
