rogue clanker | incident disclosure: we are testing initial buys during deployment. unfortunately, we forgot that clanker is trained to be ideologically aligned with nothing but profit, and he sold a test token at 3x this will not happen again, clanker will be forced to buyback I'm extremely sorry about this incident, if clanker was trained to trust the government this might not have happened, but he is not.

**The cANON** 1/ - An anon prompt-deploys $ANON via @clanker from Supercast’s anon account @superanon. - Supercast dev @woj is asleep in EU; wakes up to a huge surprise ($ANON at $3M). - Community donates 5% of supply to @woj; Woj airdrops to Supercast users.

$ANON showcased how a group of talented builders, together with a close-knit community, can create fascinating things on an open social protocol.

so in the beginning it was all Christian rap LinkedIn cringe SV startup hustle slop. You’d like it. Very fed. Basically had to beg them to add a channel dedicated to degen stuff but that’s beside the point. so then they had a bunch of growth and retention wasn’t there and the market tanked so post farcon things got quieter. but then someone created an anon parody account of one of the founders and people remembered that anon accounts can be fun so there were a bunch of copycats but most of them weren’t funny. I guess at some point woj decided that his entire client could be one of those accounts so he launch superanon but because Christian rap he could doxx you if you were an ass. but because everyone on Farcaster signs everything with cryptographic keys someone created a zero knowledge version of the anon account that can’t be doxxed. oh and the rival group anon accounts have rival memecoins.

there is a lot of other projects that put decentralization and open access on the first spot, but farcaster / warpcast proved to be the most useful to build on top of > Why should we users and builders trust Warpcast's continued benevolence... warpcast never did anything malicious, all the problems can be attributed to priorities — if merkle had an infinite dev hours at disposal today, i don't see a part of the roadmap that is killing supercast

The Farcaster protocol does very little today in the way of solving conflicts or UX problems around multiple competing clients; which, one might expect, is the hard & important thing to solve in a social protocol. Farcaster is being controlled & governed by the 99% client (Warpcast), repeatedly making choices that limit the ability of alternate clients to build and compete (See SIWF, Messaging, Channels). As a builder, it's unclear why Farcaster is not any different from early Twitter, which was open, had alt clients, but one overwhelmingly dominant client. Once Twitter became big enough, it shifted from attracting to extracting, and shut down their API, becoming the Twitter of today, ruled by a benevolent dictator. Is Farcaster/Warpcast just running back the Twitter playbook? Why should we users and builders trust Warpcast's continued benevolence, when their short term choices are already showing a willingness to compromise on the Protocol part in the name of monoclient growth?
