basically i have a friend who every time a new coin launches and he sees it he asks me if it's on coinbase and every time i have to say no of course it's not because it's only been out for 2 days so they only buy it but he only buys on coinbase so which is you know a safe way to approach things but also it also means you're late too so that that is an issue for you know at that point you are just usually exit liquidity so have to be careful so and this was yeah the number of tokens will increase by orders of magnitude this cycle listing doesn't scale you have to index and he's they're right so we we need to rethink our listing process and then this was more on that from dwr if i had to bet 1 coin best coinbase.com website app custodial service starts to allow buys for assets on chain no need to deal with traditional wallet app ux which is massively confusing for normies so that's what we're talking about dexs dexs are not intuitive right you need first you need a a custodial wallet then you have to know where the dexs are and things like that and how to use you know uniswap and all that kind of thing and swapping and i had some of those conversations over the weekend and it was not easy trying to explain some of those things when they were asking me about it coinbase may and continuing on with dwr coinbase major advantages 100,000,000 kyc customers with fee fiat payment method ability to front 25 k buys from a bank account with high reliability try doing that with moonpay ux of showing a single price with no confusing slippage and other consumer hostile ux to trade robinhood will likely follow i would say robinhood would be the other place where you'll see more that ramp up cash app leaving massive money on the table because jack is a btc maxi so if you don't know cash app you can buy bitcoin it does make it very easy but that's it there's no other crypto and he will not and this is all a jack dorsey thing he will not do any he won't deal with any other crypto number 2 big assets will still get listed for the off chain clov exchange because the institutions use that and it's 100% counterparty kyc but that will eventually that will eventually move all move on chain as tech performance on blockchains improves so it was a lot but dan's experience at coinbase i think is important here to get this perspective and i do think we'll see this happening

so good so this is from 6 first and then i'll i'll share proxy's reply or response career wise i think i'm a bit cooked on delayed gratification psychologically especially of the variety of like working iterating on a startup for multiple years in stealth and or without traction not sure if i'm capable of doing that but to an extent the ability to do that is what is required for outsized success with posit this is somewhat consistent in the brain of our generation especially with startup build in public twitter founder cracked culture becoming so widespread it is very contrarian perhaps psychologically difficult to quietly grind and stay focused for years on something you believe in think many founders currently in twenties probably compensate for this by getting validation via attention while they wait for validation via market the real thing that's a really good point shane copeland a good exception in my opinion i did like that part about validation via attention i think that is a really good point and then this was a co cast of that from proxy studio a month or so after clanker launched i was looking at a term sheet in my inbox it was more money than i'd ever made and every part of me wanted it i wanted it so bad but i also knew deep down that all the stuff that had come easy would go easy too and that the bigger challenge was going to be much more meaningful and would play out over longer time frames only a long series of pretty quiet choices could ever assemble themselves into what i wanted the last thing we needed in that moment was funding we need to clarify our vision to know what we were building beyond an experiment if you're building a career in the hot potato industry probably good to buy a slow cooker i do think it's a lot easier to do this once you've secured some measure of financial security without it the siren song is loud ballad anyway we said no and now all the most impactful decisions we're making are mostly things we don't talk at all about publicly yet the feed lies to you resist it and i love that really really good good stuff there

investors and got their perspective as to whether that was something we should try to do my gut was saying no but i needed wanted confirmation and it became also because of the type of business that we're building is also really hard to even find investors or to have it make sense so we went in a different route and i think that was absolutely the right direction but you do i can understand that that temptation to just take the you know the capital when it's sitting in front of you has to be huge but if you can you know resist it especially if you have funding coming in like through revenue that's gonna be a much better path and give you a lot more freedom to build what you wanna build so was it the right call we'll we'll know we'll know in a bit
