If you’re building a career in the hot potato industry, probably good to buy a slow cooker. I do think it’s a lot easier to do this once you’ve secured some measure of financial security. If I had to bet: 1. Coinbase dot com website / app custodial service starts to allow buys for assets onchain. No need to deal with traditional wallet app UX (which is massively confusing for normies). Coinbase major advantages: - 100M KYC customers with fiat payment method - ability to front $25K buys from a bank account with high reliability (try doing that with Moonpay) - UX of showing a single price with no confusing slippage and other consumer hostile UX to trade Robinhood will likely follow. Cash App leaving massive $$$ on the table because Jack is a BTC maxi. 2. Big assets will still get “listed” for the offchain CLOB exchange (because the institutions use that and its 100% counterparty KYC). But that will eventually all move onchain as tech / perf of blockchains improves.

it's kind of wild how quickly narratives shift in this space. just a month ago, everyone was bull posting Base and the Virtuals eco and Clankers were unstoppable. now Solana is all the rage again: - TRUMP sucked all liquidity back to the chain and coins like VINE & MOBY have top mindshare - Virtuals is expanding there - Jup bought Moonshot - SOL ETF apps even Base builders are migrating / going cross-chain and the hottest SocialFi apps are born there: DEGEN, Yapster, Vector ... the list goes on. by next week, Abstract will be sucking all the air out of the room. my folder of AL for projects has moved to the top of my discords and i can't keep up with the pings. metas shift at light speed in this space. i still love Base, but am positioning my bags and my focus accordingly. way too easy to get left behind in a bull market if you aren't skating to where the puck is going.

career wise i think i'm a bit cooked on delayed gratification psychologically, esp. of the variety of like working/iterating on a startup for multiple years in stealth and/or without traction. not sure if i'm capable of doing that, but to an extent the ability to do that is what is required for outsized success would posit this is somewhat consistent in the "brain" of our generation, esp with startup / build-in-public / twitter founder "cracked" culture becoming so widespread, it is v contrarian and perhaps psychologically difficult to quitely grind and stay focused for years on something you believe in. think many founders currently in 20s prob compensate for this by getting validation via attention, while they wait for validation via market (the real thing). shayne coplan good exception imo.
