gm farcaster it is wednesday february 19 and you are here with downesh professor and my guest co host rachel wilkins for twenty nine minutes ish of farcaster news but we're gonna cut the news part a little short we're gonna have a guest coming in from volt on chain and i'm super excited to learn more because i'm still like understanding that area they do lending and they focus on base coins and i really do not know enough about that so i'm really excited to get a little education today on that so welcome rachel yes oh my god we haven't we haven't seen each other in a while i've missed you so yeah it's been it's been a hot minute

2:01Speaker 1

i i put this necklace on today and i was like you know it's kind of funny because that you gave this to me at i think it was the time pieces miami which must have been like end of twenty twenty two yeah my first gm and now here we are what here we are gm has been going over a year

2:21Speaker 0

over a year year and a half ish yeah you're officially

2:24Speaker 1

the queen of gm

2:26Speaker 0

i know i know it's so fun i love it i i was wondering if you're wearing it today yeah yeah i've got yours on yeah yep i got mine on we're matching twinsies

2:36Speaker 1

yeah i loved your little intro as well the music was a whole vibe so it was grooving over here so

2:41Speaker 0

super tight woody from the nouns ecosystem who's also you know grammy nominated recording artist so yeah he created that cc zero music a while ago and he made it for noun three eighty nine which is a flamingo during a whole thing when we were doing like he there was a whole week where he did poaps with music that connected with the noun for that week and now i actually own noun three eighty nine

3:10Speaker 1

of course

3:11Speaker 0

it's a

3:12Speaker 1

flamingo it's a flamingo it's full circle

3:14Speaker 0

it's full circle okay well we gotta we gotta dive in

3:21Speaker 0

and i warned you all you've been warned but you know this is a good time to like you know tell your friends we're live bring them in especially if you're on twitter because they need to know how much fun we're having over on farcaster while crypto twitter is having a full meltdown farcaster is focused on warblets and what is a warplet you might ask well warp cast wallets rolled out last week and it went out to first the first five hundred top users on the leaderboard just as a way to sort of roll it out and check for bugs and all that kind of thing then a thousand and now it's rolling out to an additional thousand users who've earned rewards in the last few months so a total of 2,500 should have access to the wallet now we're targeting full wallet availability sometime later this week so that was from v but the big thing was then the timeline went crazy over warplet

4:20Speaker 1

did that just come from nowhere or did was this like somebody

4:24Speaker 0

said it and then it took off and so if you are fairly new to farcaster if you missed wow wow if you missed mole this is your moment you now have one more moment i missed all of that

4:37Speaker 1

give us the tldr for those who are watching

4:39Speaker 0

yeah so with the with these little farcaster metas like the native ones happen they're really funny because everyone will pick up on it and then kind of run with it and do their own thing and it is it never ceases to amaze me like how funny this can get so you've got dan jumping in and saying drop the let add back the cast warp cast you've got woah saying stop calling it warplet w t f you've got horse facts like first of all if you're not following horse facts like go do yourself a favor and please do because he's hilarious this is from horse facts first they said fark and i did not speak out fats i did not speak out then they said warfleck i did not speak out

5:26Speaker 1

oh my god

5:28Speaker 0

oh like yeah barcaster ads and then we have this from cassie with the with a quote cast of sloke with the warplet chain happening quote cast chain and then there i missed the worst oh there it is hold on and then chris this is from christopher warplet worplet is not a thing please don't make it a thing you know how hard it is to reach consumers oh let me reach for my worplet straining noises all right so dwr said okay fine a worse as in w u r s e purse worse then

6:00Speaker 1

we had

6:01Speaker 0

this from continues oh my god no do you see all those links up there pretty much all of them have to do with warplit

6:08Speaker 1

wow

6:09Speaker 0

where it's gonna be i told you the first ten minutes of the show today well i wanna wanna hear the word warplet when i when i messaged

6:18Speaker 1

said do i have any homework and you were like basically warplet i was like okay i should probably have something to contribute to this conversation

6:26Speaker 0

you don't even

6:26Speaker 1

so i wanna propose now this might not have the stickiness of warplet but i was thinking about wallets and i was thinking what about the warp stanza

6:37Speaker 0

right warp stanza

6:40Speaker 1

it's like the george stanza wallet

6:42Speaker 0

oh my god you're just yeah i know exactly what you're talking about

6:48Speaker 1

so i am proposing a warp stanza warp stanza

6:55Speaker 0

okay i love it warp stanza it's a thing

6:57Speaker 1

might not touch on but we're gonna put it out there

7:00Speaker 0

by by the way in the chat they're talking about something i haven't even gotten to yet i'm coming to it i'm coming to it brett and peachy i promise you we're getting there but there's there's a lot there's a lot to go alex grover in my head warplet is a derogatory term for a short firecaster user a spin off of manlet also another one from burberry stop trying to make warplet happen with like you know the mean girls meme perfect this one had me rolling on the floor this is from pugson you're gonna have to go look at it because i can't even like you gotta get the visual so if you're only listening i want you to at this point we're at 07:47 in the thing go go look at it when you get a chance or look at the cast from pugson we spent six months and 3,000,000 on this and they're calling it warplet this is very distressed dude cameron when you use warplet after midnight with a gremlin so the meme started then warplet this one oh my god like the romp purple romper got a dude like this is the warplet now

8:11Speaker 1

what do we call i'm not even gonna throw the the term but there's a little bit of a moose knuckle happening

8:18Speaker 0

yeah there's that then you have the severance meme your audi likes the sound of warplit your audi likes the sound of warplit no i don't think they do this is gonna be like moist very soon oh god that's weird tldr we've got we've got a breaking bad say my name or or or flit you're goddamn

8:43Speaker 1

right you are not lying this this this is

8:46Speaker 0

this is we're almost we're almost there we're almost there then the artists jumped in we have a little ar arc from block eye every time i see a warp see warplet in my timeline this is what i imagine with this cute fuzzy fuzzy thing and then yes to crypto with a little poem this little warblet went into mint this little warblet swapped a bit this little warblet bought some art this little warblet played its part in this little warblet went rocket rocket rocket

9:16Speaker 1

you have to admire the creativity it is amazing

9:19Speaker 0

how can you not how can you not it's incredible oh this is also from pugs and guys i spoke with the team they said anyone who says warble it again will be banned from attention any attending any future farcon

9:30Speaker 1

can you like lose airdrop points for you know

9:33Speaker 0

maybe we're gonna lose reward points for saying warplit that would be actually funny and then this from brett draws stuff he made this warple warple and then dan said where can i mint this so he said okay so now you can

9:47Speaker 1

because of course

9:49Speaker 0

because of course and look how cute they are freaking adorable little little take on cryptodes little cryptodes ask but inspired but i love it

9:58Speaker 1

let's go back to can you imagine explaining all of this to grandma

10:04Speaker 0

no no

10:05Speaker 1

so there's this magical place

10:07Speaker 0

it's one there's a woodland internet there's a wallet

10:13Speaker 1

and now we're making serious people we're not serious

10:17Speaker 0

people but at least in this little world this little world of forecaster it's so much happier like i mean how can you not laugh like i have laughed over and over again out loud to myself just reading the timeline and just reading these casts they're hilarious and then we had this from peachy it's a cute little warplet make it happen warplet i choose you so cute

10:41Speaker 1

so cute

10:42Speaker 0

alright and then that's it that's it for the warplets but i have to i mean brett this this is just freaking cute

10:51Speaker 1

not his goal

10:52Speaker 0

so cute

10:52Speaker 1

we like i have to say like having i mean kind of that mid phase of like i think i'm a month in now of the social experiment of spending more time on vowcaster versus more the time i was spending on x it is refreshing yeah to say the least

11:09Speaker 0

yeah

11:10Speaker 1

and i feel like maybe it's just because i've been spending more time here but it feels a lot more sticky it feels like there's just i don't know it's just it's just a more pleasant place to spend your time than x

11:22Speaker 0

it really is it really is i i still go to x or twitter as i prefer to call it for the entertainment can't beat it just i love what i did especially this week

11:34Speaker 1

naomi said in the comments like i go to x to fuel my spite yes

11:42Speaker 0

naomi accurate accurate and tudorizer we don't talk about the dumpster fire outside we really don't yeah we don't

11:51Speaker 1

i i like the bubble

11:52Speaker 0

i do like the bubble it's a nice little bubble like we're it's literally that spongebob meme of like like this is us like this is farcaster out the window and like we're just this is ignoring the insanity just ignore the insanity but it's hilarious this week and so i love it when this stuff happens like this to me is so fun like i loved the wow wow i loved mole like i loved all these moments and this right now is another one of those moments that where it's gonna be now in the like lore forever

12:27Speaker 1

forever it's a podcast

12:30Speaker 0

yes yes absolutely there's no question so enjoy the moment this warplet shall pass this warplet shall too pass but you know it's gonna be it's gonna be fun in the meantime and like where would you rather be like laughing at warplets or like fighting about k o l's on twitter like no

12:55Speaker 1

hot damn

12:55Speaker 0

i know

12:55Speaker 1

it's been a week of fighting about it's

12:58Speaker 0

been a week

12:59Speaker 1

or and and also let's compare would you rather be on you know talking about warplets and getting surprised little $5 in your warplets yeah or paying

13:08Speaker 0

in your warblet yeah yeah paying for $8 1 extra maybe you've seen maybe you've seen yeah if you don't have any warblets if you are are you even alive like can you imagine somebody just i

13:24Speaker 1

think you warp less

13:25Speaker 0

if you have no how funny is it right now if somebody is on twitter right now and just stumbles across this and goes what in the world are these people talking about we've got a couple more things before we jump in with our guests but we need to just some other news we're making a few changes to warp cast rewards this week this is from v if you earn greater than $600 when i'm in the us you'll have to fill out a ten ninety nine to collect further rewards so we're we're getting legal here yeah it might be crime season somewhere else but not a broadcaster it's not crime season

14:02Speaker 1

wait taxes are still a thing

14:04Speaker 0

taxes are still a thing for now today they're firing all the irs agents but that's true as far as i know we probably still have to pay that two if we don't know which country you're in we won't be able to send you any rewards and that has to do with vpn yeah yeah who is affected by this a small handful of users are close to 600 threshold i don't think it's me will reach out might be me actually might be getting close we'll reach out to you with instructions users who signed up outside of warpcast who travel frequently will still will be affected by this we'll provide a way to verify your location if you want to keep receiving rewards why are we doing this we've been increasing the size of rewards pool which means there are additional requirements we need to comply with as a u s.-based company what if i don't want to provide this data you can still keep using warf cast you just won't qualify for any rewards we just won't send you money so there you go by the way love this from steve has added top point 1% creator on farcaster to his linkedin

15:11Speaker 1

that's fantastic

15:12Speaker 0

and it's freaking hilarious also steve there was a little desk thing happening which was really funny so this was phil's desk lovely this is phil from bright moments and the book's channel and then you had steve's desk and i want you to notice something right here i said so steve what's up with the voodoo doll on your debts

15:40Speaker 0

and he said it's only for people at number one and i said okay i'm mark safe from the voodoo doll and then he made it official and then i also wanna shout this out from putting together a starter pack of 50 plus incredible women to follow on farcaster by the way rachel we need to tag you in there this isn't meant to be exhaustive there are so many amazing women here just a starting point to highlight and amplify many on this list are actively boost and engage with other amazing women so hope this helps create a flywheel we'll keep adding to it over time so fantastic thank you for that eneri and you can click on the link and grab the starter pack so i've got like a couple more quick things so i see our guests down there they're all here we're gonna ship to them in just one second but i do have a couple more quick things literally have to switch links because yeah because there were so many so really quick let me go to this because ethdenver is coming up so i wanted to make sure i shout this out i know you have some you have an event there so i want to just go through these really quick ethdenver based house is a reality join up and we'll learn and build together with incredible people during denver so there's going to be a based house where some hackers will be hacking and then this from samuel huber you're at ethdenver you want to know your your users you want to build with users tuesday the twenty fifth '2 pm room '2 we'll do exactly that we're building on farcaster the crypto social where you're able to connect directly with your users looking forward to see you at the workshop so if you're going to be there on tuesday building with farcaster with samuel huber go check that out if you're gonna be there saturday come sing some karaoke are you are you signed up i don't even have to go i am signed up and i and i

17:30Speaker 1

get in and my wife is really unhappy because she is a karaoke queen and she's she's not coming

17:35Speaker 0

she's not coming no

17:36Speaker 1

i dragged her to paris but i couldn't get her to denver too she's you know

17:40Speaker 0

that's about an adult adult job where she has to go to stupid jobs and stuff like that's crazy

17:47Speaker 1

but she did get completely red pills on web three events in paris so you never know oh

17:52Speaker 0

i she would have had a blast

17:53Speaker 1

you need more lawyers here right

17:55Speaker 0

i know we definitely do there's plenty of work tell her there's plenty of work won't take long to catch up really really won't

18:02Speaker 1

so professor what is your karaoke song

18:04Speaker 0

i do not have a karaoke song so i do at this so we do a karaoke brunch because there's people in our chat who wanted a karaoke brunch last year i personally don't have never sung karaoke maybe i will this year we'll see but i will but i did love my favorite thing last year was a four player pac man and it was a blast and i had so much fun but also it was just a really fun fun space great food so make sure you jump in for that if you have a lil noun or one of our hyper sub you should be auto approved if not i'm going through the list and if i see people i know i'm throwing them in there so there you go awesome this is from you good news studio is excited to kick off our denver adventure next week as an official media partner for the nolte show opening party we'll be on-site capturing the energy interviewing key voices and bringing you the best moments from the event stay tuned and this looks amazing and our friend creatress is gonna be there doing some performance she does this really cool virtual reality art so that looks amazing

19:13Speaker 1

and elgin is having a thrower party so we're excited

19:17Speaker 0

very excited

19:17Speaker 1

but we'll be there

19:19Speaker 0

and there's also a farcaster meetup that is happening on on saturday night i didn't pull that cast but you can find it matthew is the host for that one so a lot of fun things happening nice i want to get our guests up here i'm not sure if they're ready so if you hear me guess i just want to make sure we see you like and that you look ready if not i don't want to bring you up so i want to make sure you're ready so just checking in the chat and i do have one other quick thing that i want to okay looks like they are ready so one second but before that let me really quick while i'm just making sure they're all set i do want to shout out you did a couple other things this week rachel you have a few things happening you were in paris for nft paris and that looked amazing so each year the stages get bigger but the mission stays the same helping creators builders and visionaries tell their stories and shape the future grateful for every opportunity to do what i love huge good crowd and everything too that's amazing

20:29Speaker 1

fun fact about that though and just a note to anybody who's a speaker never follow luca nats

20:36Speaker 0

oh you were there after luca

20:40Speaker 1

we were the panel like right after luca place packed like into the rest

20:45Speaker 0

of the season oh you wanna be the panel right before luca

20:49Speaker 1

yes so literally you wanna be the

20:51Speaker 0

opening act you do not wanna be the cleanup crew

20:53Speaker 1

it was

20:53Speaker 0

a little rough but i and i felt that he'd

20:56Speaker 1

be my guest but it was it was wonderful he blew the roof off the house as always of course but yeah going after luca was not fun

21:04Speaker 0

so luca was supposed to be with us a couple times and had to reschedule and i think the second time he rescheduled is because he was had to fly out to paris like i think it was yeah he's

21:14Speaker 1

i interviewed him like a year ago and i have to say just seeing the the development of him like as an entrepreneur and hearing how just he's just so incredible like so impressive

21:26Speaker 0

he spoke to my students last year via zoom last spring and it was next level like

21:33Speaker 1

yes

21:34Speaker 0

super inspiring like it was perfect it was absolutely perfect

21:38Speaker 1

just to kinda leave you with a nugget so one of the things that farouk was interviewing interviewing him and he said you know what's what's next for you and he just said i want you to keep me accountable which i thought was really

21:50Speaker 0

a

21:51Speaker 1

really cool thing to say i want i want you collectively as a community to keep me accountable

21:56Speaker 0

i feel bad because i feel like pangu is getting wrapped up in the solana drama like just getting wrecked and it's it sucks so but also it's just a moment yeah yeah it'll it'll be fine a couple other things you did last week was you launched good which is amazing

22:17Speaker 1

i didn't launch it it was clanker

22:19Speaker 0

sorry clanker launched good and it has this incredible logo by brian morris who we love and adore so that's amazing and i apologize created clinker created good dollar sign good so go check that out and nfa not financial advice not legal advice you get if you haven't if you haven't been paying attention in the past week you can lose a lot of money when you play around with meme coins so be careful out there then you also you also launched a discord which is great so i'm sorry go ahead what were

22:55Speaker 1

you gonna say i instantly had regret as soon as i launched the discord because what the hell that we already have spammers and scammers in there but yes we we wanted a place for people to gather but one one cool thing about good is jesse pollock bought some so you know he talks the talk about backing community and and he was right in there so we appreciated that

23:17Speaker 0

by the way this is hilarious just helped my mom swap her eth to base in her coinbase wallet then swapped her base for good now i'm diving into the world clangers clangers and memes oh my wish me luck

23:29Speaker 1

and this this is my mom hilarious why is it going down

23:34Speaker 0

that is my mother why is my that's my mother so she just had bought like a hundred dollars of bitcoin and she did it like we just did it through venmo like make it easy for her she already knew how to use venmo and like i get messages from her like oh mine's going up why is yours going down because now she started looking at ethereum and i'm like this is hilarious i should start doing market reports with her because it would be yeah a riot absolute riot she's like you're just doing okay i'm like oh this is mine now you're a bitcoin nancy what's going on sailor

24:09Speaker 1

my response to my mom was believe in something believe in something beryl

24:15Speaker 0

something believe in something carol alright two more quick things and then we'll bring up our guests really fast we have a prop up to nouns so gm farcaster is a media partner for farcon we have an opportunity to have a sponsor for that space so a prop is up to nouns for that prop seven fifty it is open for voting if you have any questions and you're holding a noun and i'm pretty much just talking to yes to crypto i think at this point let me know but we'd love for your support for this prop and also if you got a hundred dollars or $300 the other day you know why don't you go check out little nouns they're really cute and there is another way that you can purchase little noun on littlenouns.auction that gives you a lot more options to look through so there you go and eventually we'll get you in there rachel so alright with that let's bring up our friends from volt on chain it's volt on chain on warp based and twitter i think so if you're looking for them and then volt.ag so we're gonna bring them up hopefully they hear me okay i don't see i have one more person in the green room matea mateza but i can't bring you up matasa you're i think because your audio is not connected so but i brought up cardman and congo and mataza if we can get you up that would be great see if maybe you can connect your audio so

25:56Speaker 0

rachel so you had put me in touch with volt and you've been working with them and i don't know if you wanna do a quick little intro and then we'll turn it over to them to kinda talk more about what volt is

26:12Speaker 1

sure so i've just i met the vault guys through crypto twitter just get got to know kongo really admired him as a builder he recently made the decision to bring over the apes society from a previous blockchain that shall remain no i'm just kidding they'll tell you which one over to base and i've just had the pleasure of working with the team behind the scenes on some business development and just love this and one of the things that i said to the guys when when we were having discussions about working together i said i'm not your person like i am not a defi person and they were like no no actually that's really good because you understand the right questions to ask as you're you're the kind of the ideal client avatar somebody who is like brand new to defi so oh cool that was kind of our starting point because obviously we wanna make sure that we get this this tool and these you know the ability to be able to use use this protocol to everybody not just to the degens who are already active so

27:12Speaker 0

yeah glad to have them yeah it's great to have them here and mataza i'm still not able to bring you up and i think it's you do need to connect your microphone i think that's the problem so it's not even letting me bring you on stage but maybe we can shoot it to either congo or cardman to kind of talk more about what bolt is and how it can be beneficial to folks who are in defi or wanting to learn about defi so i don't know who wants to take that and sort of give us a little breakdown of

27:48Speaker 0

of bolt ag i don't know who's there you guys

27:54Speaker 1

need to unmute

27:55Speaker 0

you're gonna need to unmute for me so that we can hear you we're having some technical difficulty oh there we go

28:03Speaker 2

how are you

28:04Speaker 0

hey congo how are you gm

28:07Speaker 2

sorry the mute button would not unmute on me that was not that was

28:11Speaker 0

not weird oh that's weird and then mataza's having i think some issues connecting the audio so i don't know if something's going on with the audio today

28:22Speaker 2

yeah he's in the stone age i guess i'm not sure what's coming oh he says it should be fine now

28:29Speaker 0

yeah but it's not because i can't bring him up so like if i yeah something's something's going on there because it says device is not connected so congo can you give us a little rundown about give us like the tldr about bolt.ag and like what folks should know learn about it what are you guys up to give us a little

28:52Speaker 2

yeah of course i'll try to keep it short just because defi can be kind of intimidating to people so when we bridge the base we saw a huge gap in the market a huge opportunity in our eyes in terms of lending and borrowing and that was a lending depth that was more geared towards their newer people and or folks that hold tokens that like native tokens on base that are not just eth not just the big caps right like your miggles and things like that toshi all that good stuff and we saw an opportunity there because there was no one really catering to that market so we saw a chance to help the next generation get on to defi because to a lot of new people which base has like a lot of new folks to crypto they've never actually touched defi and this is something we experienced on our on our old chain before we bridged to base a lot of folks have never never touched a real dapp and we just worked with the with customer feedback quote unquote and made it as simple as possible and now you have kind of a more advanced generation of that with volt here so basically what you can do to just keep it simple because you can get as advanced as you want but for the basic user you can take your assets say miggles you can now borrow eth with it and you can do whatever you want with that eth you can make another place so you see another project that you really like that you wanna get into for now you could pay some bills or whatever it may be because payday is coming in a couple of days whatever it may be it frees you up to not have to actually sell your high conviction bags quote unquote so if you don't wanna get out of toshi at this price point maybe you wanna just borrow eth against that right and actually put your assets to work

30:45Speaker 0

what kind of per like what are the percentages that you can borrow against like i'm assuming there's some kind of like formula of like if you hold this much then you can borrow x percentage or something like that yeah

31:00Speaker 2

good very good question so it's actually a p to p protocol so person to person so the lender would actually dictate that so if i wanna set i don't know if i wanna go super low risk as a lender i could set a 50% ltv so they're getting 50% or you can go all the way up to 99% or a % whatever it is you want so it totally depends on the pool like and the lenders that are there right now

31:27Speaker 0

okay really interesting and this is all based on different meme coins right because somebody had said something about nfts but is there also nft lending as well

31:37Speaker 2

it's not just meme coins so we're we're we love meme coins but we're also diehards for utility tokens and all sorts of things like we have virtual on there arrow etcetera

31:49Speaker 0

i should have said coins yeah i should have said tokens no yeah sorry because even anon is a anon is a utility token

31:57Speaker 2

so anon is a very slept on project yeah that is a crazy good project nfts if you look in the top right there next to connect wallet yeah nfts are coming very soon we're all we're almost done so people who have base nfts are gonna be able to do exactly what i just described with tokens but with nfts

32:17Speaker 0

okay very cool and that was that's similar to with the nft part of it was like what bend was doing for a while i know that that was one of the like and that became a bit of an issue with the changing market so just anyone who's sort of playing around with this and defi and lending just be very careful and and know kind of what you're doing in terms of not getting in over your head don't want to see anybody get wrecked but very cool to be able to use those assets that you may not want to sell yet so really cool approach matassa or cardman i wanna open it up to you to add anything to this that we may may have missed or anything else you wanna add to sort of what people should know about volt

33:09Speaker 3

yeah so thanks for having us first of all and you know you mentioned vend and one thing i wanted to to clarify and add on is both on the token and eventually the nft side there we don't have liquidations in the typical sense so i mean there's still risk of course but you each each loan is time based so if if like you know there's some fud or something and like the token price drops 75% or or then if the rep price drops 75% in an hour and then bounces back up you actually don't get liquidated

33:46Speaker 0

oh okay

33:48Speaker 3

so you you either choose to pay the loan back or you don't within the fourteen days so if if the amount that you borrowed is less than or greater than the amount that you owe or that that the current value of your token is you could just not pay it back and then or or or vice versa so you don't have that same kind of liquidation cascades that you have on something like ben you still wanna make sure that you don't do things that that are too risky but we find that this is like a little bit safer for lenders and borrowers

34:27Speaker 0

when you're saying you don't pay it back do you mean that but the i assume the collateral then goes to the lender

34:34Speaker 3

yes yes yes but you still have your eth and then the lender can go and sell the token so they're only the lender would lose the difference between what they lent and what it's worth now

34:44Speaker 0

oh interesting and

34:46Speaker 3

then you still have your youth

34:48Speaker 0

so in terms of being on the lender lending side you're setting the terms yourself or is there a certain like structure that's built in

35:01Speaker 3

so the way it works is that each pool which we set on our end has the amount of time that the the loans last and the interest rate the thing that you're setting is the ltv which is the percentage of the current cost of the token that you're offering so when a borrower comes to lend they'll borrow first from the person that put the highest ltv and then it goes down from there

35:29Speaker 0

okay alright cool rachel what else am i should i be asking about like i know you know this project a lot better than i do i'm just learning about it so what were some other things that we should know or that we should be asking and you're muted rachel stop muting people

35:51Speaker 1

like twenty twenty two behavior i think

35:55Speaker 0

well i think you're spaces it's fine

35:57Speaker 1

i know i think one of the most important things and and kind of timely things to talk about is ybase because you know as mentioned the team were building on another chain and had had a pretty successful lending protocol over there so like just i think if the team can maybe just talk why base why why steel base after what we've seen with the the magical internet casino and why you're kind of feeling extra bullish especially given what happened last week

36:31Speaker 0

whoever wants to take that

36:35Speaker 0

i'm not sure which one from the team wants to wants to dive into the base question and if you're talking i can't hear you okay there we go

36:45Speaker 2

good so we've been following base since before they even launched and we've been bullish on what they've been doing ever since originally we were looking at maybe doing like a component on base maybe just do a dapp or something and then in in the end we just moved the entire project over there base works more like a start up first off in terms of they're just like they're they just get things done you know what i mean like they they sprint and they actually deliver they do what they say add in they support builders which is i don't know if it's hard to come by but to us it's hard to come by and on base it's just jesse is so helpful and so is everybody else the dev tools are second to none the community is awesome everyone's just focused it's it's just everyone wants to build cool shit and have fun you know what i mean while doing it and it's just the perfect fit for our community and us as a team we just we just work better under these conditions

37:51Speaker 0

we agree so everything we're we've launched has been on base so for gm farcaster like all our nfts are on on base we love the base team we've been sponsored by base we've received a couple grants so could not agree more and also farcaster and base just go hand in hand they really do and soon for real i don't know if you're aware of that but coinbase wallet is going to be incorporating a farcaster feed so essentially coinbase wallet will be a client for farcaster so similar to warpcast so yeah so i like great to see i haven't seen i'm sure someone else is doing lending on base but i have not seen it like i haven't seen it front and center so i think there's definite opportunity there for sure yeah go ahead

38:46Speaker 4

we've we've

38:48Speaker 2

got pooled lending on here some big protocols like moonwell but we are drastically different in it we are catering to a different part of the market for that they actually complement each other so it just it fits perfectly in that ecosystem

39:03Speaker 0

great i was also gonna add in you know brock and i were talking in

39:08Speaker 1

the back channels and i i haven't even really pitched this to the team but how cool would it be if we could get proxy and banker and you could say to banker hey banker you know loan out my eth for this percentage using vault like there's there's a lot of potential where this could kind of segue to

39:26Speaker 0

using an ai bot to yeah help you out that would be interesting or even creating pools and things like that i'm sure there's opportunity there very cool very cool

39:38Speaker 1

so vault is very new to forecast but i think you'll agree professor this is this is where they need to be

39:43Speaker 0

oh 100% like 100% for if you're doing anything on base you need a presence on farcaster like period because it's it's where a lot of the builders are too so people like you know proxy is a great example like if you wanted to build something in or build on top of it or if volt wanted a frame developed like you're gonna find the folks to help you with that on farcaster so definitely great great you definitely wanna be here for sure and another question though are you all gonna be at ethdenver are you you know where can folks connect with you where's a good spot to reach out for additional questions and things like that and whoever wants to grab that oh there you go

40:33Speaker 4

can can you hear me

40:34Speaker 0

yes we can hear you oh my god jeez

40:37Speaker 4

i'm so sorry i i don't know what's wrong i couldn't even unmute before yeah g m g m sorry about that yeah so we're actually not doxxed so like you know going in person events in person it's it's kinda tough for us but yeah you can you can contact us or connect with us like any any socials really or in our discord telegram whatever we we hit twenty four seven even though we don't show our faces we're very like connected and and present so yeah feel free to to do that but we usually send like representation to to these events you know because we also want people to know about us and and what we what are we building but yeah it's just a personal like choice for the three of us to know which which many people do but but yeah

41:27Speaker 0

yeah it's we're familiar if you're in this space there's always a

41:32Speaker 4

yes especially since like this week like you've seen like doxed yeah people very much in danger

41:38Speaker 0

people like yeah now we understand why you don't dox yes yeah we understand that

41:43Speaker 3

exactly

41:44Speaker 4

you've been here for a long time

41:47Speaker 0

yeah yeah sometimes it's dangerous to be doxed so you know i get that but also great to hear your voice and i see why you should have been the per you know no offense to the other two but i like the accent so you know they you know i get why he was gonna be the spokesperson and couldn't and couldn't get the mute get the audio going there was unfortunate yeah we like i like accents rachel don't laugh well yours too you know

42:14Speaker 1

i i i didn't even like make the acknowledgement that or even realize that matasa had an accent because i've been working with him so long but yes of course

42:21Speaker 0

i love it

42:22Speaker 1

yeah we dig it we dig it

42:23Speaker 4

you can try you can try to guess you'll never you'll never know where i'm from that's the fun part about my accent

42:29Speaker 0

i've yeah you sound like you have a blended accent and i want it like at first i thought it was australia but then i'm like no it's not

42:38Speaker 0

i don't know i really don't know so i'm i'm think it's something european is the only is the best guest i have or south african i wasn't sure i was back and

42:48Speaker 4

forth that was actually amazing yeah i'm not gonna say more because yeah i'm still on the docks but but that that was a great

42:56Speaker 0

guess okay wow i i hear different things so i'm i'm guessing maybe you lived in a bunch in a few different places i'll have to i'll have to slide into the dms and see if i can learn more but i love it this has been super super fun super interesting this is an area i really haven't done much in and i think it's mostly been from fear like just nervous about it i know some friends of mine who've done some even on the lending side and they've had interesting experiences some good some bad but i think there's opportunity there as well for folks who are in the forecast ecosystem who might want to you know kind of lean into that part of it because there'll there'll be need on that side as well so i think there's some interesting things here so thank you guys for popping in and for anybody who wants to learn more you can go to volt.ag or let me do that one vault dot a g and you can learn more about all the different token lending nft lending coming soon they are volt on chain on warpcast as well as twitter so reach out if you have more questions so anything else rachel that i may have forgotten for our friends with volt

44:23Speaker 4

can can i just say something real quick sure for you if you're not unsure what to ask just wanted to say like it's it's like lending and borrowing shouldn't be scary i know like for a lot of people especially like new users that never landed a borrower before it's they're quite scary concepts and and and words and stuff you do and there's you know defaults foreclosing interest rates borrowing it's it's very very can be very scary for the first time but it shouldn't be like you know lending and borrowing especially like the way we do it's the oldest form of lending it's like a bank right like you have to pay at the end of the at the end of the loan you have to pay back and yeah so yeah we we will be releasing like more more guides i think we're lacking a little bit there guides and videos tutorials out there so people know exactly what's going on but yeah volte is the simplest you were talking about other protocols there are 40 over 40 protocols on base that people most people don't even hear about but ours is the simplest and and and where like and you just have to try it out and see see it by yourself really like that that's where where we get get good at it just actually trying it out just use a burner whatever don't even need to to put eth in just try it out and you'll get good at it but but yeah more more tutorials and videos will come out but yeah just wanted to say like try different things because this is isn't supposed to be scary it's supposed to help you and and everyone and then create this liquidity right for the

45:49Speaker 0

i think my my fear comes from traditional banks it has absolutely no connection to well

45:56Speaker 4

i mean it was it was just an example totally i didn't mean to to have any connection because at the end of the day this is decentralized like we don't control anything it's all smart contracts right so we know that right there is the big edge against banks where where they control everything at the end of the day we don't it's a smart contract so but yeah it it was more in the sense like that you have to pay back at the end of the duration of the loan

46:20Speaker 0

yeah and then one other question for you what do you have any other tokens that you're gonna be adding to token lending like for example dgen or moxie or one of the other sort of farcaster tokens that people are are holding a lot of

46:42Speaker 0

and i don't know what that process is in terms of getting another token lined up yeah go ahead

46:49Speaker 4

sorry i didn't mean to take yes we this is built in a way where you can add like as many tokens as we want obviously like this there needs to be like some sort of like quota because yeah we also have to think about the borrowers like so they're not like at risk if we launch like just a meme coin of 10,000 market cap and just rugs next minute and you borrow like against it like you know a lender will get like at a loss here so but but yeah we we can we we we can't add like the process is very simple we add it but it's very quick to add the way we built it so yeah we we just set up the the the the loan duration and the interest rates to like to according to the risk profile we give to the token you know like cbbtc is different than i don't know miggles right like the interest rate should be different because different levels of risk but yeah we just do that that map that is a formula and we just add it really but right now

47:44Speaker 0

is the percentage like the based on the volatility of the token

47:47Speaker 4

there's there's a few there's a few yeah there's a few points volatility is one of them there's volume market cap liquidity because liquidity is actually the most important

47:55Speaker 0

right

47:55Speaker 4

because you know i mean i guess it's it's tie tied to the the volatility but yeah we we measure all that and then apply the interest rates but yeah we just right now we just don't add like many more tokens because we need the the the the pools to be filled up a little bit more so the the liquidity is more concentrated because for example if you go there now and the maximum pool there is i think it's like migos or something like that with 1.5 eth right if someone comes and wants 1.5 eth that pool will go to zero right and and and then no one else can borrow so we're trying to concentrate a little bit liquidity having less pools first and then from there we can add yeah add like as many pools as as many tokens as we want yeah

48:41Speaker 0

okay cool

48:41Speaker 4

so more more strategic than than yeah

48:44Speaker 0

yeah i just know that so at least in the farcaster ecosystem like some of those tokens like dgen are very plentiful so you might find find a market there for folks who want to lend and borrow based on that so something to look at i'll give you i've given given a little push little push for deejohn alright rachel anything else that i about anything that we've talked about at all before we before we wrap up today this has been fantastic and it's been great to have you here i don't i don't

49:20Speaker 1

think so just nice to be here and and hang out with you professor and thank you for bringing the vault guys through you know as i mentioned they're stellar team solid solid dudes doing awesome things and obviously always d y o r know your risk

49:35Speaker 0

for sure

49:35Speaker 1

risk obviously but for sure really really excited about what they're doing

49:39Speaker 0

and yeah

49:40Speaker 1

it's been it's been awesome hanging out with you

49:43Speaker 0

yeah it's been so great and i'm yeah i'm excited to dig in more it's definitely an area that i haven't explored and i feel like you know maybe at this point like the lending side might even be where i need to land so it might be something i could be doing yeah in addition to just holding and not earning anything on it so yeah i gotta put the money to work there we go put the eth to work alright everybody this has been awesome rachel i will see you at ethdenver next week and again folks if you're gonna be there make sure you rsvp for our brunch it's gonna be a lot of fun and we will be back friday friday is going to be a little different 10:30 a m we're just going to play poker and talk about things on farcaster so i'm just doing one i'm just doing the poker game on friday no additional show and we're gonna be talking about what's happening on farcaster while we're playing poker rachel if you if you are available i would love for you to play you can come play do you think i have

50:46Speaker 1

a poker face no

50:47Speaker 0

no not at all but it doesn't matter it's a fun it's a fun friendly game it's fine and with that everybody this has been fantastic we will see you on friday and see you on the timeline and with that everyone bye bye
