1:04Speaker 1

1:43Speaker 0

gm farcaster it is monday july 28 and twenty eighth yes you are here with nannishprop and adrienne for twenty nine minutes of farcaster news followed by a chat with creator dao and i'm really excited because they're doing something really different with trying to help youtube creators get on chain and you know of course we're gonna we're gonna like that i mean because you know we are the we are that kind of a thing so very excited so today's show hey adrianne i'm not hearing you

2:20Speaker 2

there you go i know i know i know i said we're the on we're on chain creators youtube we were on chain first then youtube but now we gotta get the youtubers on chain

2:32Speaker 0

exactly exactly so we're working on it and i'm excited i'm excited to chat with them i love every experiment with helping creators earn from what they're what they're building and what they're doing so we'll have them coming up to the stage just shortly i see we've got kong coming in a little early as well i'm like did i put the wrong time

3:00Speaker 2

no they're just excited

3:02Speaker 0

we're just excited to be here so we're bringing them up in just a little bit but first let's dive into a few things happening around the farcaster ecosystem and we have a lot happening this week so this week starting tomorrow we're doing some poker with aptos so it's gonna be a lot of fun we still have a couple spots left for the second and third games tomorrow's game is full but if you are interested in playing go apply we can't get everybody in but we're trying to get those in so if you are fine to be on screen to stream while we're playing poker you wanna learn about aptos in the process possibly win a little money if you're good at poker this is gonna be for you so go take a look and follow aptos and aptos club on farcaster for more info

3:55Speaker 2

hey possibly make a new friend

3:57Speaker 0

make a new friend it's gonna be fun gonna be fun

4:01Speaker 2

if not donna can i just shout out like the it's not do we count this as it's not really irl because you're still on a stream yeah but as soon as you do like get off of the feed and go into a whether it's a google meet or like you meet someone even virtually i think we should count it as irl because it creates another dimension

4:21Speaker 0

yes it's another dimension i count it

4:24Speaker 2

and i used to do this a lot in kind of earlier days like i jump on to google meets just to meet people and now i have like a army of people who are willing to help me out when i get stuck on things because i made friends with people so if you haven't done it like jump play it's like play poker have fun make some friends

4:44Speaker 0

exactly and it's a lot of fun i love playing poker the way we do it the way we're gonna do it with aptos and the way we've done it with lil poker with lil nouns is that we are streaming so you're on screen you're talking with folks while you're playing you can razz them a little bit all those things but we're also like talking about things that are happening in this case we'll be talking about aptos so you can learn a little something meet some folks and it's a lot of fun fun making new friends sounds scary it's not scary justin not scary

5:15Speaker 2

it's like i think i just did the opposite i like it's

5:16Speaker 0

like i'm out i'm not yeah

5:18Speaker 2

i was like now i'm out

5:19Speaker 0

no you don't have to

5:19Speaker 2

make any friends you can just sit quietly and play and you can just listen

5:23Speaker 0

you can just listen you can just listen you can ask questions you can say nothing

5:26Speaker 2

bring this up by the way is i'm never mind i let's get the business

5:30Speaker 0

are you in are you in friend making mode is that what's going on yeah

5:34Speaker 2

i'm in friend making mode no i'm go i was i was having i'm struggling doing some like i i got stuck doing some dev work this week and i keep reminding myself how many people from the feed are willing to help it's true i'm in so many people's dms who are willing to help and whatnot so and like i only that only happens when you because i've made friends over over the years so that was my

6:00Speaker 0

so that's your pitch

6:01Speaker 2

yes yeah

6:02Speaker 0

this is your pitch your pitch to making new friends

6:05Speaker 2

oh but you should she

6:05Speaker 0

doesn't play poker but you should come you should also come hang out it'll be fun all right moving on we've got a few a few things to to jump into before we bring up our guests this from brad q twenty nine seconds of farcaster what did you miss this weekend zora is on a crazy run tied to tba coining a post which has led to lots of discussions some valuable some less so and you guessed it mixed reviews tldr highlighted a breakthrough weekend for bracke with the first in chat trading and a new all time high market cap of 5,000,000 also first f one market also with that when you're talking about first trading in the chat that is i believe on tba and there's a lot of fun cool things happening in the chat so if you're on tba which is the base app if you have access to beta go create a little group chat and play around with the agents because they're it's pretty fun so very cool and we'll talk a little bit more about zuora in a second jake noted that the first crowdfunded qr auction was organized and won by zeni.eth and rocketed their mini app up the leaderboard and doubled the market cap of stream pretty good cronus neon neonified the timeline to support betterment's crowd fund for neon on chain summer what started as a few hours turned into a few days of redoing pfps in this distinctive style and filling the feed with bangers loving the neon pfps jay mjc seven sixteen teased procoin mini app feeds under soft launch and j.bin was hyping the curation model and noted the mini app was number five pre launch by the way i don't have this set to talk about more about this but i did take a look at it and it's very interesting and i may try to play around with curating some feeds so kind of a cool thing this week in mini apps limon joined linda here also limon limon dropped an article the new economic stack for creators and we're on today at 11:30 thank you for twenty nine seconds of forecaster news from brad q with a few commentaries this from v fc mini apps now support batched transactions upgrade immediately to improve conversions and all payment flows users only need to approve a single transaction to send usdc instead of an approve and send flow use send the use send calls hook makes this easy so when dust collector i need a dust buster for all my dusty you know bits and pieces of of tiny little coins to just sweep it up and turn it into usdc so

8:55Speaker 2

did you pull mike's app

8:57Speaker 0

someone built that oh did he build it

9:01Speaker 2

did you pull mike's app i think it's somewhere

9:04Speaker 0

is it this one

9:05Speaker 2

yes it's so 5792 yep that i that lets you clean up your wallet in a tinder like interface so he shows you all your tokens in your wallet and you could swipe left or right so whether you wanna keep it or not and then all the tokens you decided not to keep you can then kind of batch convert to usdc

9:27Speaker 0

amazing yep this is what we're looking for this is what we're looking for no offense to people doing their own coins i do the same thing but i understand if you wanna turn laos into usdc i am perfectly fine with that because i rest

9:41Speaker 2

in peace all these meme coins are are you gonna get tech gonna get done

9:45Speaker 0

you're gonna get something dumped on it's time it's time but very cool so glad to see already on that that's amazing this from garrett this was very interesting looks like jack didn't intend to launch the visualized value creator coin good lord though so jack butcher went on to zuora to the app to log in and it automatically launched the visualize value creator coin so what's happening here is that now in addition to content coins that you can create on zuora by putting a post up or putting one up on tba it can turn into a coin you also have creator coins for the account itself so if you log in to i guess the ios app it will automatically launch that for you so just be aware if you were not intending to do that that you know tread lightly that feels like a really weird design choice but now you know so i haven't decided whether or not to launch mine i i might and we definitely haven't decided to do anything with gm farcaster so if you see anything out there it's not us we'll let you know if it is so interesting so another thing to be looking at and also the zuora token so all of these are tied the content coins are tied to the creator the creator is tied to the zuora token the zuora token started blowing up so just to kinda let you know what was happening there with that market adrienne any intentions on starting your launching your creator coin she asks fully knowing the answer

11:31Speaker 2

no you do not because i've had my creator coin activated for quite some time

11:35Speaker 0

really i didn't know that yes oh you look

11:38Speaker 2

and i'm searching you on zuora right now and one

11:42Speaker 0

there shouldn't be a coin i haven't launched it

11:44Speaker 2

have you been posting on zuora i don't see even post money like so i i thought this was a imposter

11:51Speaker 0

no i haven't posted except oh i shouldn't say that because i posted on tba so it's possible there has been one fairly recent be linked or

12:01Speaker 2

i don't know yes i have a i activated my creator coin a while ago whenever a while ago it came out

12:09Speaker 0

when i when it like a month yeah like a few days ago like couple weeks ago yeah okay not because

12:14Speaker 2

i was capital l launching capital c coin it was just like i don't know why not

12:21Speaker 0

why not okay i haven't done mine yet

12:24Speaker 2

everyone else everyone else has to be able to

12:26Speaker 0

unless i did it by accident and don't even realize it which is awesome

12:29Speaker 2

that it happens automatically now like maybe it was opt in i had to opt in like it had to it was asking me it was pretty clear but maybe that was just i don't know

12:38Speaker 0

maybe now it's all good could be by the way i like this from christopher how it should be to launch this is how it should feel to coin something watch the rest of them

12:51Speaker 0

it's really funny for those who are just listening go look at the video cause it's really it's just it's just people being launched into a ball pit it to me is very funny

13:02Speaker 2

are these just like inside of trampoline part like trampoline adult like adults

13:08Speaker 0

being flung into bouncy house

13:10Speaker 2

bouncy house yes tall pets

13:13Speaker 0

exactly so that's how christopher thinks it should feel to coin something like you're very excited and you're launching it okay moving on couple more things on chain summer is officially starting it feels like we're at the end but apparently we're just at the beginning quick facts about on chain summer 50 teams will win prizes from a pool of $200,000 there are two tracks apps and mini apps you can enter with either an app you already launched or an app you're planning to launch this summer this is a retroactive awards campaign based on on chain and off chain engagement and winning is more is about more than prize money the top teams will be invited to base camp in september and be featured on stage so adrienne get moving

14:05Speaker 0

make make sure our app is one of 50 50 so tldr 50 teams win prizes all apps eligible rewards are retroactive for on chain off chain engagement and the top teams are featured at basecamp so you can apply right here so there was some weirdness to previous rounds like this with the devfolio so just i would say sooner rather than later get it figured out for anyone who is applying so there you go so for our team creator kerbal there you go get moving this from you nhu speaking of mini apps this is very cool this is the lore of gm farcaster you can travel through farcaster history and when you go into the app hopefully this will just log me in let's see hopefully you can search by date or search by user so if i wanna see everywhere that

15:10Speaker 0

who's in our audience right now is oddjob in there i'm gonna do oddjob if i want to see everything where we mentioned oddjob there there it is so this is all the all the times that we have mentioned oddjob or you can look by date it's very cool go check it out great job i really like it and i thought this was cool to see from the dude woah i had no idea i was featured in an episode this is so cool thanks guys because he apparently missed the shout out so there you go so go check that out see if you're mentioned and yeah that's kind of cool

15:50Speaker 2

and there's a leaderboard

15:51Speaker 0

and there's a leaderboard oh i forgot about the leaderboard hold on there's a leaderboard let's check out the leaderboard we love a leaderboard and number one is not unsurprising

16:05Speaker 0

if you watch this show you would know that it was gonna be dwr i'm surprised i'm number two actually i thought it would be big so

16:13Speaker 2

the reason that is is a lot of our casts

16:16Speaker 0

yeah

16:17Speaker 2

that we pull are like recasts of things so exactly if you happen to turn your job into being a curator and you're the one who decides what gets curated you can bump yourself up to the leaderboard yeah

16:31Speaker 0

it's funny when i was looking through this there's some folks who we don't like they don't come up a lot right now but they used to come up a lot and it's i was noticing that i was like oh it's really interesting to to look back a little bit so very

16:47Speaker 2

cool i don't know what happens yeah

16:48Speaker 0

and i don't know

16:48Speaker 2

what happens if you change your username oh my guess is you're not like i you i probably am not counting you as the same person so like if you've changed your username you'll like i don't know you could probably we could probably search heavy weight oh that's a good heavy weight comes up because she's erica now

17:07Speaker 0

yeah that's a good point yeah

17:09Speaker 2

because it's i wonder yeah it's a it's a

17:15Speaker 0

but it is pretty cool so if you want to see lore that we picked up along the way or different you know when you were mentioned go check this out yeah and i think probably we have to do her both times and then she'd come up because we've sometimes called her erica and sometimes called her heavyweight so so

17:35Speaker 2

she's now not on the leaderboard sorry oh i mean maybe she is on the leaderboard but it just

17:41Speaker 0

i don't

17:41Speaker 2

think it'll it'll count it at

17:43Speaker 0

this app it won't combine it

17:45Speaker 2

heavyweight as two users yeah

17:46Speaker 0

yeah it won't combine it alright but cool very cool cool new little app go check it out go see if you're mentioned this is something i i like we talked about so long ago mhmm about how to capture this information and that it's really valuable as an archive and we didn't quite have a way to do that so this is very cool that we know

18:07Speaker 2

yeah and so two so two extra points on this one the repo is open source and and public so if anyone wants to add to it feel free to to check that out or remix it and which means also the whole dataset's public as well so you can check that out and

18:27Speaker 0

yeah very cool

18:29Speaker 2

oh oh and then it's still not going to refresh automatically yet so i gotta figure out i gotta still add and then work on

18:37Speaker 0

it so that it can

18:38Speaker 2

continue continues to yeah get updated

18:41Speaker 0

very cool love it i love it very exciting this is from rish ask nayanar ai about any mini app which mini apps are trending and more specifically which ones are relevant for you it's continuing to learn more about the farcaster ecosystem every day send us feedback so this is very cool especially it you know with my lack of trending feed now this is another way to get get some info so very cool so ask meinar ai all kinds of cool things you can either go from the mini app or you i think you can just tag it right i believe it will also give you the same information this was really fun fun pinball mini app game by alta jeers and i think there's one other person who's building it with them and i forgot their name with a farcaster level featuring some familiar faces and it was real it's just really funny the image is really funny because you've got warpy down there with bert and horacefax and i'm sorry but this is very self park coded with dan hanging off of whatever that is so really fun fun little mini app go try it out i did reach out to say i'm gonna need a cast out version thank you so they're gonna get on that this is also really fun hold the cube there's a prompt for you to put this in to create the cube but then steven sill steven sill steven sill created a mini app to help you do this so it's very fun takes your pfp adds the cube very cool jesse also did did he did his but i don't think oh there it is holding the cube so very cool little mini app go check it out did you do yours yet are you holding the cube i have

20:42Speaker 2

i haven't

20:44Speaker 0

oh it's cute it was really fun this from the ethereum foundation the ten year anniversary live stream will happen on july 30 so coming up in just a couple days to memorialize the occasion the ecosystem will be able to mint a free commemorative ethereum torch nft for twenty four hours after the event join the global celebration there's also a whole bunch of things happening there's different events happening like around the world so go check out the ethereum foundation's various socials and you'll find that info so that's gonna be a lot of fun and this from octant they are having their weekly dragon's den but this one is a little different ethereum turns 10 next week this week a whole decade of building the future special dragon's den to celebrate the with the ethereum cat herders trivia prizes decade stories and much fun live on twitter tuesday july 29 tomorrow 1pm eastern so that'll be a lot of fun as well so lots of like ethereum celebrations happening this week couple more things this from kyle patrick it's the shit posters guide to farcaster if it comes up there you go shit casters sorry shit casters guide to farcaster context is hard to find especially if you're new so we made a guide for all the farcaster lore projects memes and so much more this is a great list i suggest you bookmark this article so if you want to take a look all in one place this is a great place to go or you can search through the lore or you can ask warpy you can tag warpy eth and he will be able to answer some of these things for you if we've covered it on barcaster so lots of fun and then this was really funny i don't know if you saw this but brackey had a little meltdown and replied

22:43Speaker 0

to somebody saying however you need to be more specific and then bert said do you need me to have a talk with them and bert bert and brackey had a little had a little chat and brackie's brackie's okay now

23:01Speaker 2

so yeah

23:02Speaker 0

go take a look at that that was pretty funny

23:05Speaker 2

listen everyone's crashing out brackie

23:08Speaker 0

including the bots including the bots everybody's crashing

23:13Speaker 2

brackies and you know what everyone's entitled to a crash out

23:16Speaker 0

it's true everybody gets you know everyone has their limits everyone has one this apparently was brackies' limit

23:24Speaker 2

everyone gets one free crash out allowed

23:28Speaker 0

that was so funny and for tldr what did you do to my child so funny this from superzition we're excited to announce the nine lives trading competition went up to 5,000 arb by creating a prediction market with the highest organic volume and liquidity runs through september 1 and starts today so go take a look if you are into trading competitions this might be for you you degens this from furquan after four years of building tools for 100 ks plus web three developers we rebuilt third web from the ground up new version cuts dev time by 80% and is built specifically for ai agents to use web three easily want early access reply below for a dm so thirdweb who's been around for a long time building tools and doing education very cool to see that to mark one more quick thing this from six we should start calling merkle the manufactory goes kinda hard okay and there you go

24:38Speaker 2

i agree

24:40Speaker 0

and there you go so no more merkle drop the merkle it's cleaner is that what you're saying

24:43Speaker 2

yeah it's just

24:43Speaker 0

the manufactory yeah it's just the manufactory alright we're dropping the merkle dropping the merkel alright so i wanna bring up the crew from creatordao let me just get one thing ready

25:02Speaker 0

i'm excited to talk to them to to really learn more about what it is creatordao is building you can find them on barcaster at join creatordao and so make sure you follow them there for further updates after we chat and also creatordao.com so just wanted to kinda highlight those so i didn't forget but we're going to bring everybody up right now let me start

25:33Speaker 2

with ryan

25:33Speaker 0

if you're there i'm bringing up kong

25:37Speaker 3

jim

25:38Speaker 0

michael

25:40Speaker 3

hey

25:41Speaker 0

i think that's everybody right now did i miss anyone oh wait one more nathan it is a crew we've got a crew today and i think there was like three other people on the list and i'm like i don't know why we're gonna fit everybody but we're gonna try so this is fun so welcome welcome to gm forecaster for those who haven't been here before it's nice to meet you

26:04Speaker 4

thank you it's nice

26:05Speaker 5

to meet you too and

26:08Speaker 0

ryan's been here like multiple times so you know he's old

26:12Speaker 6

hat to be back

26:14Speaker 0

yeah ryan's old hat he's been here a few times

26:18Speaker 0

so let's talk about what is let's start from the basics what is creatordao and what inspired the founding of this new project whoever wants to take that who wants to go first

26:32Speaker 4

yeah i can probably take that so maybe i'll start with the second question which is that what inspired this project so i've been a content creator pretty much on all web two platforms video creator for since 2011 over the course of a few years i was able to build multiple viral youtube channels with 4,000,000 subscribers over a billion organic views and yeah after that i i create started a company that went through y combinator and also that taught people how to go viral on youtube so i've just been in the youtube social media space for a very very long time the way that i was teaching people was that i was selling a course and they would buy that course and then they would learn how to go viral a lot of success stories including iraq who has 15,000,000 on youtube the icing artist who bakes cakes decorates cakes and has 4,000,000 5,000,000 on youtube sometimes i lose count and then sandy colby who have 14,000,000 on youtube so i've kind of really been in that space and and what i realized is that selling a course for a one time fee doesn't really capture the true upside of everything and it was actually really hard to figure out how to capture that upside because well actually sorry just to rewind that course about i wanna say 20,000 people went through it maybe 25,000 and looking back last week i think we created about 30 millionaires so that's where the upside is right

28:20Speaker 0

wow that's incredible

28:23Speaker 4

yeah and and i i was thinking about for the past few years like how do you actually capture that upside and the world of web three is just kind of like the perfect way to do that and so that's kind of where creator dao came from which is being able to create a system where you can get the upside long term of these creators and have reward systems where they can help new creators as well so going to your first question of what creator dao is i would think of it like a shark tank for creators so you know we invest in up and coming content creators we're starting with the world of youtube because monetization is the easiest predict but we're very quickly going to go to all the web two platforms and web three as well and so we invest in these creators we take a percentage of their income and in that time that in the you know in in the time that we we we have a percentage of their income we help them with everything from content strategy to collaborations with bigger creators to operational help hiring editing thumbnails like all that stuff and the goal here is that you know everything that we make from their from the percentage that we take of their revenue we put it back into the treasury and and yeah we we we grow the treasury that way so the the the cool part about this is that unlike shark tank where you have you know five billionaires millionaires picking who they want to invest in our dao members actually pick pick who we invest in and the reason that we do that is because it's actually really hard to predict content the example i've been using recently is that nathan and michael actually really love watching marble racing it's literally a guy who builds an obstacle course and races like a yellow marble and a green marble versus each other i don't

30:17Speaker 0

i haven't heard about this like how isn't there betting and stuff too like is there just thing

30:22Speaker 3

it's it's a great ecosystem marble olympics are incredible

30:28Speaker 0

yeah like i literally heard about people like talking about this that this is like a whole thing that's so cool

30:36Speaker 4

i watched that and i was like i don't really get it i would never get money on this like i mean like invest in this there's no way this is gonna make money and it it just goes to show that like for something that's boring for one person can be can be fascinating and super addicting for millions of people that channel has like 5,000,000 subscribers i think

30:57Speaker 0

wow well i was just thinking when you're talking about the cake decorating thing that is like not my thing at all but every time i come across a video like that i can't look away because it is so interesting especially when they're using like a spinning thing and they're doing all and it's like wow this is really fascinating but it's really not something you would think would be something that would pop off right you think of it as like a very niche type of audience but it's not and i think the marble racing is in the same vein

31:29Speaker 4

yeah there's there's there's a guy that has that that he he does a lot of stuff now but he started out going viral just kind of raising ant farms and i was like oh okay so people actually watch this so yeah anyway my my my my point is it's it's just really hard to predict winners in content if it's just like an individual expert but our belief is you know it's called wisdom of the crowd where a large group of individuals will be just more accurate in their predictions in this particular case

32:00Speaker 0

that's a really fascinating use of a dao i really do because i i think you're right i think you're right the more voices that you have sort of picking the winner i think the better chances you'll pick them correctly so that's i think that's a really interesting approach for sure

32:19Speaker 4

yeah yeah and i i think there's also something to be said too about you know if there's a small group of people let's just say there's you know a 100,000 people there's probably some way where we could use variation of quadratic voting where if 10,000 people said i really really really like this person then that will you know that that should have some some weight over the fact that there's only 10% of people who are are interested in this so yeah a lot of really cool mechanics we can use utilizing web three

32:54Speaker 0

so okay so you are launching the creator token tomorrow correct and that's what's going to allow for folks to join this dao and have a say is that my correct understanding okay so where should folks look for that when it launches tomorrow is that gonna be available on the website are you launching to you know is it gonna be available everywhere on the decks etcetera like how is that all working tomorrow or is it just the just the allow list

33:25Speaker 5

i can jump in here i'm actually the founder district or the launchpad that's backing this and we're using our white list system to do and it's basically based on a lot of the contributions that people have made like we we track contributions across chain and so on day one is the white list i don't know if nathan can share the link after this but yeah we're using a white list system

33:47Speaker 0

and that was right on the site i think i saw it on the on the creator daos website

33:51Speaker 3

just pop it off to the the website and you can use code d m if you're here today and you're trying to get

33:56Speaker 6

a white

33:57Speaker 0

alright well there you go i didn't even oh i didn't even know that part that's great

34:02Speaker 2

approximately like how many addresses are on the list for the initial launch would you say

34:08Speaker 3

i don't know if we're we're sharing that

34:12Speaker 2

order of magnitude like is it i'm so curious

34:17Speaker 0

oh wow i love it you've been always trying to get the guy out loud like can you just tell us all the things and just say number

34:25Speaker 2

there you go you can join

34:26Speaker 0

the wait list there you go oh they're like they don't wanna say it

34:33Speaker 0

so that's really

34:34Speaker 2

it's just us it's just us guys

34:37Speaker 0

no one's gonna be with us besides all the people that we're gonna release it to later today so what in terms of like mechanics and where your like voting is happening and things like that is that occurring in discord is it incurring in snapshot are you using something custom like where is sort of the activity happening for once everything launches

34:59Speaker 5

it's using our custom software so we're actually a next generation launchpad i think we might be the only increase in back launchpad and category been stealth for a couple years now we're finally launching with actually created down so one of the cool things is most things that use governance they are actually using some variation of snapshot we use on chain governance we sometimes use snapshot to sort of do a temperature gauge but it is i think one of the few that's on chain i think nouns is one of the few dows have built that also on chain and actually executes a smart contract

35:30Speaker 0

good so i didn't have to say it good alright

35:33Speaker 5

i noticed that and that stuff i have i'm literally tonight talking to one of the early dows and nouns dao actually later tonight

35:40Speaker 0

oh which one

35:41Speaker 5

i don't know i just know he's gonna be on the call because the other guy's like oh his cofounder

35:45Speaker 0

probably elon or something i

35:47Speaker 5

don't know but i'm excited it's it's one of the things that elon elon like when we look at we're like that's a true dao there's a lot of not real daos on the market today if you actually look at the software that powers it

35:59Speaker 0

yeah and i think that's something that a lot of folks may not understand which i i really appreciate that you do is that a lot of things that are called daos are really just it could be a group chat and it's it's usually like five voters and even within the nouns ecosystem like it you have moments of capture where you know you get a large voting block that kinda takes over but it is an actual dao that there is you know a lot of debate that happens a lot of discussions that happen a high percentage of voting a lot of daos you have like 5% something like that generally in naos you have 30 plus so i definitely would say you know strive for that kind of activity and i think it'll just make it such a better experience for everybody if there's incentives for people to vote to dive in to actually support these creators it'll be a much more fun experience and they'll feel invested too like they're they have a a say so i think this is very cool it's a really cool experiment how do folks if they're creators how do they get involved

37:11Speaker 4

yeah with the creator side so as i said the for the first season we're taking youtube creators first second maybe third season we'll open it up to you know a lot more platforms but how they get involved is they apply through the website there's an application or apply for an investment and the only criteria here is that they have created at least two videos per month on youtube for the last twelve months and the reason we do that is because the number one indicator of success is persistence and consistency you know if mister beast took six years of creating content until he made a full time living and so i think if you've proven to be consistent even if you suck at making content at right now you will you like my belief is anybody can get good at doing it

38:00Speaker 0

so one of our favorite things was to do the shitty version so gary tan who's the at y combinator is the head of y combinator i don't know what they call me director whatever

38:13Speaker 4

yeah

38:13Speaker 0

resident i'm not exactly sure what his title is now he did an ama yeah yeah he did an ama on on farcaster a while back and one of the things he said was exactly that consistency but also just do it just do it take the action and even if it's shitty you just keep improving and then incrementally gets better over time so i love that we take that advice to heart and we do the shit we continue to do the shitty version 270 episodes later so there we go

38:45Speaker 4

yeah absolutely you know gary tan in initialize capital is actually an investor in creatordao and i think he was talking to michael about how the the similarities between creators and founders of startups is like there there there's just a lot of similarities and and it's like you said one of them is you know in startup lands they always say it takes ten years to to find product market fit in the content side i'd say it probably takes around like three to six but yeah you're absolutely right like you just have to kind of grind it out you keep learning you keep iterating you keep getting better and the at at some point at least for the content side you will figure it out i think startup side is a little bit tougher but yeah on the content side you know if you have the skills to do it like you're gonna succeed

39:33Speaker 0

need to find that crazy niche marble what's your marble this will be the new thing what's your marble racing find your find your marble racing what adrianne what else did i miss what what did you wanna ask for the crew here

39:52Speaker 2

what so i guess just the what are your thoughts on farcaster these days i always like to just bring bring all of our groups back to farcaster how are you guys finding farcaster i know from a creator now perspective you're gonna be looking to youtube for for creators but just curious like how are you guys finding farcaster are you guys on the base app what are you what are you doing in in the on chain and kinda decentralized social social world these days

40:22Speaker 5

i'm on base in zuora and i think one of the things one of the inspired things is i think creators are gonna show up everywhere i think youtube is kong's strong point but someday creatordao should be the largest investor content across the world and that means zoor creators farcaster creators twitter creators like everything will move on chain and the cool thing is content should be owned by daos it just makes total sense content should not belong to old media it should belong to us on this tech it should belong to a community and it's an asset that actually benefits from dao ownership you're gonna watch you consume content a lot more on it but i've been a big fan of zorra like i'm i don't can you can slowly see it going now but i was just talking to folks that do some of the economics behind it so it's been pretty cool dan actually went to college with my sister so last time i saw the music

41:08Speaker 0

oh okay yeah this is a folks comic no that's random

41:12Speaker 2

should netflix be a dao

41:14Speaker 5

oh i don't i don't see why not honestly like imagine everybody voting on shows like you see this all the time shows get canceled and the users they cancel subscription imagine if users like we wanna continue to fund these shows

41:25Speaker 2

yes like that'd

41:26Speaker 5

be fun

41:27Speaker 2

and i just have you guys seen huge in france

41:32Speaker 2

no no fantastic show so good and it got canceled after season

41:37Speaker 0

oh man

41:37Speaker 2

and we

41:37Speaker 5

can see if there was a vote on that

41:39Speaker 0

yeah yeah let's and we got no vote okay

41:43Speaker 2

i no no we had no say

41:44Speaker 0

but yeah i think

41:49Speaker 0

that's on that farcaster as well yeah go ahead nathan i think when

41:49Speaker 3

he when he first launched i like signed up and i was like i don't know not my thing kinda tried it left but what drew me back was definitely like frames i think that is something that's incredibly unique because at first it was like alright you know another social media that's similar twitter vibes but just not as big you know the 37 users or whatever the joke is with that number

42:14Speaker 0

but

42:14Speaker 3

yeah once frames launched i think this is the potential of what it is and what it's already becoming is just like very clearly seen and that like next layer of interactiveness that's directly tied to your wallet and like your login now with base like you have like a unified identity that is like grounded in your social media and then expanded out to like really anything like the the frames that are being launched are truly just like anything and everything and so i think that is that's something that's really really exciting and that we're we're very interested to dive into with creator down i think there's a lot of opportunity i'm not gonna drop any alpha on that yet but we're definitely looking into that direction i think there's a lot of a lot lot of really cool stuff that'll be happening so we love farcaster super excited to to be on there and really impressed with the results that we've seen already so thanks to the farcaster community

43:06Speaker 0

love that

43:06Speaker 4

i think i think one of the things that you know we we we haven't talked about this much but like one of the things that we really wanna do is to bring all these web two creators into the web three platforms like it's like it's like nathan said there's just so many cool things that you're just not able to do on the on the web two side and and for for the youtube creators specifically it's actually really really easy to repurpose content to put on something like farcaster and and it's you know it's it's a way to get them in without a ton of upfront work because if it's like okay now we want you to live stream this is a that's a completely different thing right we're gonna have to put in hours to to make that happen but i think to repurpose content that's a probably a really good gateway to get them in and once they get in hopefully they start making more and more original content for the platform as well

44:00Speaker 0

i think that's a oh oh sorry i was just gonna say i think that's that's a huge opportunity you're right and because they're already creating the content it's if you're able to take those clips take those shorts and pop them on the base app and then somebody's collecting them as a coin on zuora or collecting it as an nft on farcaster you're earning right away so even if you're waiting a little bit like even if you're not seeing as as quicker results on youtube and that might take a little bit more time you can at least be like seeing some activity from your you know and some some kind of appreciate reward for what you're doing and we've even seen that with there was somebody who is in like the crypto twitter world who had this sort of viral post that went you know years ago and she was able to repurpose that on the base app and actually made you know some money from it where she made zero before so there's a lot of little interesting opportunities for for some funding there nathan sorry i didn't mean to cut you off there what were you gonna say

45:08Speaker 3

you're good yeah i was just saying even from the the web two side of users like we definitely wanna onboard like fans right people who just love watching youtube let's say they're one of their favorite youtubers is now joining creatordao like we want them to be able to lift their fan base on chain right and i think before it's like yeah we'll probably have to figure out something a bit more custom but as of right now you can just get the base app and it's right there you know you're onboarded you're on chain you have everything you need to now participate in the dao i think that onboarding process is like something we were talking about like a month or two ago of like yeah we'll need to figure that out and it's kinda done right like now it's easier than it's ever been and and we can just like lift the users like tomorrow if they're out of beta you know so that's really exciting i think that's what blows this up to the true vision of what we have for creatordao is yeah we want web three degens and natives on there but we want this for the whole world right we want anybody and everyone to participate in creator dao we want anyone who scrolls on social media enjoys watching youtube channels to be a part of creator now and influencing the content that they love so it's now easier than ever and that's a huge shout out and thanks to the incredible work being done

46:21Speaker 0

amazing yep love it and by the way it's mini apps now not frames i i mean you owe you owe linda $10 i'm just saying like no linda from uber she's got a jar

46:33Speaker 3

she's got a frame and now it's mini apps i'll i'll change

46:39Speaker 2

it's a hard habit to break

46:41Speaker 0

it's a hard habit to break yeah we knew what you meant but you know yeah she joked that she was making people in the office pay $10 every time they set frames yeah are you

46:50Speaker 2

guys gonna make a mini are you guys gonna make a mini

46:52Speaker 0

app you should

46:53Speaker 3

definitely want to definitely have some exciting ideas and that would be i think a no brainer direction but as of right now it's not in development but we were we're in the the brainstorming stage for sure so excited for us to come

47:07Speaker 0

well reach out adrienne built ours so she might have some advice for you or assistance for you so and it does stream you can watch our show live right now in the mini app on the base app or on farcaster or you see the most recent episode if it's not live if we're not live so it's pretty cool

47:29Speaker 2

i assume someone i assume people are out there watching right from the base app right now

47:33Speaker 0

yep i'm sure they are say hi i have but they can't say hi from over there then they have to come over to youtube and say hi

47:39Speaker 2

yeah youtube doesn't give you api for comments so when people are saying hi from our youtube channel like they gotta go into youtube to say hi yeah

47:48Speaker 0

but yeah whatever

47:49Speaker 2

it's okay another question about the vision for creatordao when you guys talk about and it was pretty clear like what the old model is in terms of youtube and monetization and kung when you're describing like made perfect sense of like you you can help people launch and they can you know you can charge for the education content but then once they're launched there's no way to capture any of that upside and kind of you're investing early on i thought that was really cool but when you say kind of web using web three tooling and web three better for creators i'm just curious if you could talk a little i'm just what does that mean specifically in your point of view like how do you see and and i think there's many ways to monetize prav and i from for our show monetize different ways as well but like do you have a specific vision for your create for youtube creators for how to monetize in web three or is it gonna be dependent based on like what the different channels are or or creators

48:47Speaker 4

yeah i i i can give you one example and maybe nathan if you wanna jump in for some of the other ideas we have but i think one way to to do this that again i i think one of the biggest things web three allows is to align incentives right so one thing we could potentially do here or one thing we will definitely do here is when the creators get an investment they will get creator dao tokens which makes the members of the dao because they're members of the dao they have a vested interest in continuing to help us grow right and our goal here is to let's just say we we have a batch of of creators that we invest in they become successful some number of them become millionaires now instead of just kind of going off on their own and doing their own thing they're actually incentivized to to come back and help the new batch of of creators coming in so imagine if let's just say the icing artist who does cake decorations comes back and helps someone who's doing like a baking or a cooking channel and then gets her 5,000,000 subscriber audience to then go to to to subscribe to this new creator who only has a 100 subscribers and then she now also gets the upside of the person that she collaborated with too so the mechanics of that we're still working out all of the kinks because it you know i i there's there's there's some legal ramifications that we have to work through

50:16Speaker 0

but i'm just thinking that yeah yeah but

50:20Speaker 4

but that that is the end goal here is that you you know you align incentives so that these big creators that go through the program come back to help the smaller creators and then vice versa and then it just or i guess not vice versa but it keeps going and it keeps looping until you know hopefully say

50:35Speaker 2

the word

50:35Speaker 4

a 100 people but what was that flywheel

50:38Speaker 2

say the word flywheel flywheel flywheel

50:40Speaker 4

yes yeah

50:41Speaker 0

flywheel

50:42Speaker 4

exactly

50:43Speaker 2

we play a drinking game onboard i mean it's every time someone says the word flywheel we drink flywheel

50:50Speaker 0

yeah i'll give you a shot

50:50Speaker 2

yeah there we go

50:53Speaker 0

but yeah that's that's exactly it though that is a that is a perfect example of a flywheel so i would say choose your legal entity carefully because some of what you're saying might be hard to there's always the if the token goes up in value there's always upside there that's easy to capture it's just if it if you wanna do other things it gets a little tricky but anyway if you we can talk about that offline but if you if you need some assistance there but it sounds like you have a lot of really great advisers in terms of a 16 z and and folks like that so i'm sure they've they've got you covered but that's always the tricky part there's but i feel like in this moment in terms of regulations and where the us is going it's the best time to launch something like this so it's great timing on this alright what did we miss what did what did anything we missed that you wanted to shout out that we need to put some emphasis on did we cover everything we've got the launch tomorrow if you're a creator there's a place to to apply and anything else orion anything else that i may have missed gonna ask the dog to wrap us up here you know the dog the dog always has it

52:23Speaker 6

i would just say that if if folks want to be you know ready for the launch you know get on the white list get that referral code out there there's a lot of you know opportunities to just share there's a lot of people looking for referral codes you just check the comments of the creator dao post you'll see tons of them so if you wanna find people to to get your code just check our comments

52:47Speaker 0

so you can go right to the site go to the menu join the white list and the we just gave away a code for that was g m correct and correct apply for investment if you are a creator and you can read the light paper as well to learn more so it looks like everything is there at creatordao.com fantastic it's been great chatting and i always love it when the when the doji dog shows up he's always fun so

53:18Speaker 4

actually i i i got one more thing we'll we'll we'll drop some free alpha here on i

53:23Speaker 0

love that

53:24Speaker 4

yeah on discord i am doing hopefully weekly feedback sessions where i give people feedback oh cool on their youtube content and so yeah we just had one yesterday had a pretty good turnout and a ton of people i just pull up their channel give them feedback on how they're titling their videos and their thumbnails and stuff like that and yeah even if you you know don't want to become a founding member at the very least you can join our discord and just get some free free feedback on your content and i'm also in the creator in the feedback channel as well a lot so amazing happy to just give as much i'm

54:01Speaker 0

kind of afraid i'm afraid to ask because i know we need help

54:05Speaker 4

i i can give you one really easy thing to do with gm forecaster by the way

54:09Speaker 0

oh god what is it

54:11Speaker 4

put the put the title at the end of the put the put gm forecaster episode whatever at the end of the title on youtube

54:19Speaker 0

okay

54:20Speaker 4

yeah

54:21Speaker 2

or not in the beginning

54:23Speaker 0

not in the beginning we need to re we need to readjust our our our titling i know we do yeah our titling needs help we're we're not exciting enough we need to we need to make the title a

54:35Speaker 4

little bit transcript into chat g p t and say give me 10 titles

54:38Speaker 0

new titles yeah that's true and

54:39Speaker 4

then just you should

54:40Speaker 0

probably ask it so i'm doing it anyway i'm that's who's doing our summaries so our summaries are

54:44Speaker 4

already done so then just say give me 10 titles you take give me a title one yeah

54:49Speaker 0

keep it easy alright that's an idea alright we're gonna switch it up time to switch it up we're starting with this one

54:55Speaker 2

and early on we realized we do a live stream so people come in we're live right now obviously and then early on we realized we put everything as a record like we reupload our live stream as a video because which duplicates the content we're not really editing our livestream but we found like it was necessary to duplicate so you have like a stream of videos which are just like the livestream and then and the videos do you have an opinion on one is that the right best practice for live streamers

55:31Speaker 4

i think there so there's people who do it both ways so generally speaking i don't know anyone who keeps the live up and and then also re uploads the same thing i would either choose to private the live or or make it unlisted and then re upload or keep the live and then use the videos as your

55:56Speaker 0

like rename it yeah yeah

55:58Speaker 4

yeah yeah so but yeah having both might be a little confusing for the user and the algorithm too

56:07Speaker 2

i think the users like we yeah like on our page we really show the videos like and we we use playlist for our pod like as a podcast so i think people get it i don't even know i think we even took off the live from the homepage

56:20Speaker 0

yeah

56:20Speaker 2

of our main but but i was thinking more from an algorithm perspective like it seems silly to be having duplicate content

56:28Speaker 4

yeah because then you're splitting up your views right

56:31Speaker 2

oh that's yes but then i manually add them back together

56:37Speaker 0

we make our lives much harder than it needs to be and we know it's we are

56:42Speaker 4

aware yeah yeah let let me do some research on this on best practices because i haven't done live personally you know or i haven't worked with anyone that does done live personally in a while so i can do some research on this ask around and i can get back to you on on best practices here

56:57Speaker 0

very cool alright well i mean obviously creator dao interests me i i'm a creator i like daos it's kind of a thing so this was this was this is an easy sell for me

57:11Speaker 0

so we'll look tomorrow for the launch go check out the white list apply if you're a creator any other oh make sure you're following join creatordao both the there's a channel and a i believe there's a channel also correct yes channel and the account and on farcaster which is also tva anything else that we may have missed this has been a great chat i'm really excited for what you guys are doing i think this is gonna be really interesting i think it's a great experiment one thing it reminded me of was we've funded in nouns a couple of pretty large creative ventures so we did you know an animated film as well as a documentary and i think there's something to that of you know getting people behind it who are excited about it i think it then sets you up for better success when these things launch so i'm excited to see how this goes this is really fun alright

58:12Speaker 4

thanks for having us yeah

58:14Speaker 0

thanks for being here thanks so much and with that everybody we're gonna call it for monday and we will be back tomorrow with aptos poker and wednesday with gm farcaster and then wednesday also with farcaster trivia we got a lot going on this week and look for the creator dao launch tomorrow and until then we'll see y'all later bye bye
