0:33Speaker 1

i sure do that was a good time

0:37Speaker 0

that was a good time we went on this this boat with like six i think there were six sailboats or 12 i can't even remember there were so many that were floating around with us as well all noun ish sails it was amazing all around new york harbor and the statue of liberty and just such an amazing memory and i originally was gonna do this as my background but it felt like you would have been staring at yourself the whole time

1:10Speaker 1

this see this is my this is my wife's official onboarding to like our shenanigans of web three

1:16Speaker 0

it was what an amazing onboarding she had

1:18Speaker 1

to do

1:19Speaker 0

exactly an amazing onboarding yeah all right everyone we are gonna get started officially so let's i'm gonna start up the intro and while i'm doing that i'm gonna be tweeting please be do some retweeting please do some recasting and i'll see you on the other side of this forty seconds

2:21Speaker 0

gm farcaster it is wednesday september 10 and you are here with nana troff and rachel wilkins yeah we are

2:32Speaker 1

quantically retweeting over here

2:34Speaker 0

and for twenty nine minutes of our guest annuities a third day except we know we're going to go a little long and me trying to like find you on here cause i am not on x anymore that often and i just can't find you i thought you were so funny i'm not

2:49Speaker 1

on x anymore period i'm like

2:51Speaker 0

no no no i'm just not on there very often so i'm like what the hell is her name yeah that's what i thought okay it wasn't coming up for me for some weird reason i was trying to tag you alright and so i'm just getting this tweeted out getting it casted out letting everybody know we're live and we will get going right after that see this is what happens when you don't have when you don't have adrianne to do half the work i have to do a lot more i don't like it but i'm so excited to have you here i'm so excited

3:25Speaker 1

to be here this is this is awesome

3:27Speaker 0

been a while it has been a minute it's been a minute it has yeah but i was i

3:32Speaker 1

was just poking professor here about when cast away

3:36Speaker 0

when cast out cast out cast out i'm sorry

3:38Speaker 1

cast out

3:40Speaker 0

yes october we are coming back in october we have some big announcements that'll happen towards when adrienne returns i can't do them until she returns

3:52Speaker 1

so going to mongolia

3:55Speaker 0

we are all going to mongolia and that's where cast out will be no i have no desire for that so for those who don't know what cast out is it is an online survivor inspired competition that happens all on farcaster and let me tell you rachel wilkins played hard she played hard with her team last time her tribe was right in there right till the bitter end and it was an impressive run you guys had a very impressive run

4:28Speaker 1

we had a good team we had brock

4:29Speaker 0

we had a great team brock brought it i knew he would be great

4:33Speaker 1

yeah and when when like when i was thinking about when you said you should bring a team for good news i was like i'm not really into that stuff that's not really my thing and then let me tell you once we got in i was like that's destruct i was like it's

4:47Speaker 0

not really my thing i just can't i cannot laugh harder not really your thing it could have

4:53Speaker 1

fooled me

4:54Speaker 0

yeah

4:55Speaker 1

it was it was fun and just just the shenanigans in the back in the back chat was just so fun

5:00Speaker 0

i really knew that brock would bring it like i really knew like if you just got him on board you guys were gonna do fantastic and i was not disappointed it was

5:11Speaker 1

he knows what's up

5:12Speaker 0

it's also always funny to see the folks there's always people who surprise me who get a lot more competitive than i ever would have anticipated you would be one of those i didn't realize that maybe that's why

5:27Speaker 1

i don't do sports because yeah i'm i was like weird like it was intense

5:33Speaker 0

let's go yes so we will definitely be bringing that back in october we already have one sponsor lined up we're just finalizing some things there and that'll be like one of our our big sponsors and yeah we gotta wait we gotta wait till adrian was traveling and we also are pacing it for other things just to make sure we didn't interfere so yeah i'm excited to bring it back but yeah we'll we'll let you know when when the tribe registrations open we'll let you everybody know great alright let's dive into a few things that have been going on on the timeline this was the big news earlier this week the npm qix attack so this was a security update from v so i'm gonna skip down a little bit what happened an attacker took over an npm developer's account and replaced packages with malicious versions i don't know what a lot of this means so for those who do great these low level open source components yeah i'm like i don't know open source components are used by many apps including popular crypto wallets any app that updates these packages today may load with malicious code which can propose dangerous transactions to users the farcaster app uses some of these packages but we have confirmed we haven't updated them since the attack it's therefore safe to use our app so this going back to the beginning of this if you're using farcaster app on web or mobile you are safe if you are using farcaster mini app be cautious unless the developer is confirmed it's safe reject any transactions from mini apps you don't fully understand so that was a couple days ago i think everything has been

7:23Speaker 0

everything as far as i know is all set now but be careful out there a few other summaries here which i'll include the links in the show notes so if you want to learn more but also privy has had it said as well that they were safe so this is from debbie you may have seen reports of today's npm supply chain attack privy is not impacted none of the compromised packages are part of our direct dependencies and there was a similar message from base that they had confirmed that they were good as well oh here it is base products including baseapp.base.eath are not impacted by recent npm supply chain attack all systems remain secure and funds are safe so chances are you're good but be careful out there i have seen some other situations that have been happening with people getting drained but that's been for other other reasons so

8:26Speaker 1

have you ever been drained

8:29Speaker 0

no knock on wood and now you're gonna i'm like do we need like a gold everything i'm gonna say you get everything i'm gonna say something

8:36Speaker 1

spicy right now but so in the gay community

8:40Speaker 0

have bear

8:40Speaker 1

in mind i've only had a half cup of coffee there's some something called a

8:44Speaker 0

gold star so we've people oh yeah

8:47Speaker 1

only been with one side of the spectrum okay yes so maybe we need a gold star version those who've never been hacked

8:55Speaker 0

no because it's like setting yourself up to be because i i literally anyone can be hacked i was very close one time really i had a panic yes i had a panic it was one of those situations where i was on a zoom that kind of stuff like i got sucked into one of those kind of things where i thought i was a legit person it wasn't yada yada so i made a couple little mistakes but luckily i figured out what was happening quick enough to get out of it but i had a moment with like oh shit i don't know maybe they did get access and i started moving so there was a moment where i started moving a bunch of stuff to a safe and if you saw that happening that was why so yeah so i have a lot of my like all my timepieces things are now in a safe small all my like yeah so all my big stuff i put into a safe i got panicked and then not long after that the safes got compromised i'm like geez right yep

9:48Speaker 1

i have no just no chance but i've definitely like you said like the the zoom links the calendly links

9:55Speaker 0

yeah all these weird things yeah yeah it's so i'm much more now i'm much more even even more cautious about a lot of things but yeah it's nerve wracking when you think you are like you're like oh shit especially right now like all my all my wealth is crypto like it's not i'm not diversified enough i know i'm not it's not good but here we are and and ever since prov has never received air drops not true but yeah that would be funny though hackers only managed to acquire $50 in the hack apparently oh that's good

10:33Speaker 1

dollars 50

10:35Speaker 0

that's good that's amazing if that that's the case fantastic all right moving on to other other things happier happier news let's chat about the rewards leaderboard results this week this from my friend brad q who's so good about doing these weekly recaps he also does shout outs to first time first timers and so make sure you're following him rewards leaderboard results it's bert wurst and his ladies oh and pugson i love the way that was that was worth

11:11Speaker 1

it about it being too many women at the top

11:13Speaker 0

oh yeah we're gonna talk about that yeah one second let me read through this and then we'll we'll talk about that a little bit while it feels like all the names are the same that's not the case for some each week samantha at number two is not typical she's usually not in the top 10 and what better use of rewards than funding humankind also offline number six and triumph number seven is not typical though they've both been up there before down leaderboard jc at number 18 strikes me as her highest ever amistara debut at number 30 at at in the top 30 at number 20 frame the globe and driven by boredom first entry into the top 30 number twenty four and twenty nine means coveted 69 goes to boston pedicab max jackson taking my spot max been seeing more first timers last couple weeks so keep an eye out to celebrate so yes okay i went back and forth as to whether to talk about this but since you brought it up

12:14Speaker 1

i like a bit of spice

12:16Speaker 0

i i because i didn't really want i didn't really want to give it even more oxygen but yes so we've had a couple things happening we've had some folks yesterday what happened was somebody did comment about a particular person and then that particular person a woman did say okay i'm done i'm out i'm leaving and and i was like okay that sucks that really sucks and and regardless of whether or not you like someone's content like just you can just not say anything like here's what you can do if you don't like somebody's content on your feed mute them or block them it's quite simple it's really that easy

12:57Speaker 1

or just mind your own business

13:00Speaker 0

just mind your own business like who cares if you don't like how somebody is you know putting themselves out there in social media and then the other separate thing is that yes we have a lot of ladies in the top 10 consistently and one dog consistently and people get you know sometimes just get a little i don't know put off by that my thoughts on that is like yay celebrate that because this is like the only place in freaking web three where women are dominating anything

13:33Speaker 1

i i would encourage those people who

13:35Speaker 0

are having a hard hard time with that

13:38Speaker 1

to go look at the speaker list for token $20.49

13:42Speaker 0

like how about any speaker list for anything ever literally anything ever in crypto so anyway here's the thing you can this is a this is a choose your own adventure create the feed that you want to see use your mutes that's what they're for and you know that way you'll be happy in your in the in in what you're seeing on your timeline so this is my feeling on this

14:09Speaker 1

cutting off your nose despite your face because if you make this a hostile place to be guess what we lose quality people we'll lose quality content and you'll be in a circle jerk of people that you know yeah it's not it's not expansive thinking

14:27Speaker 0

yeah or any speaker list in any event i'm not erica yeah exactly and erica's usually up there in that in that top in that top crew so i you know when i go through every single person like who's and i've done this before where i've gone through everyone in the top 10 or even top 20 and i like their you know i like what they're putting out there they're working hard it is not easy it is not easy to be at the top of that leaderboard it's you're producing a shit ton of content if you are and it has to be something that people like and engage with or you're not going to get there so all the more power to you i can't get i can't do it

15:10Speaker 1

i was very happy that i've got my little $20 this week for the first time in several months and i was yapping quite a bit so you're right

15:18Speaker 0

there you go

15:19Speaker 1

i think it was in the 3 hundreds so

15:22Speaker 0

yeah i'm usually in the you know i i'm somewhere usually between 180 and like 60 something i'm usually trying to shoot for 69 just for fun because it's also very hard to like try and hit in a specific number but it's not easy i can't get up in the top 30 it's like almost impossible i think i've done that maybe once it's really once or twice it's really hard so all of our power to you guys if you for those who do it and congrats

15:54Speaker 1

we gotta get our dogs up there maybe that'll do it

15:56Speaker 0

that's mine's not interested i asked him i've asked him so many i've shown him bert's feed i'm like look you could be earning some bank here you're cute and he's just like not interested lady i have zero interest in being famous on social media so i tried i haven't i have a dachshund he's just not right he's very cute i know i mean frank is a different story like frank could definitely

16:22Speaker 1

we've been thinking about it because he has an instagram because he is frank of america on instagram so we have a lot of content

16:30Speaker 0

there you go

16:30Speaker 1

we've been looking at zora we've been thinking about we've been thinking about it

16:34Speaker 0

i could i could see him i think he could take part i really do justice

16:39Speaker 1

come on for the

16:39Speaker 0

nickel justice for mookie and frank i'm telling you mookie's not interested i've asked him he is not interested at all so there you go i cannot manage more than one account and his thumbs just aren't up to the task so there you go in other news this has been the fun thing on the timeline right now for the past couple days this is the choo choo so you're familiar with the worm correct do you know what the worm is

17:07Speaker 1

what was passed from wallet to wallet

17:09Speaker 0

yes yes exactly so there was something called the worm it was going around it was pretty popular like 2022 2023 those that timeframe i think right i remember hearing about it in that time frame and it goes from wallet to wallet it's passed by people they they ended up there was one point where they created basically a fork of the worm because somebody wouldn't pass it along and then they created a way that you could move it if the person doesn't pass it all these things so the chuchu kind of took those concepts and added some a spin on that with the mini app and what you're doing is you're sending the choo choo to another person on base and then they have to send it along to somebody or you can yoink it if it doesn't move within two hours now i think it's at so really fun very cute and you end up with this very cute generative art they're all different and it's super cute right

18:11Speaker 1

i love it

18:12Speaker 0

it's so cute it's it's a little train going through an arch for those who aren't familiar with the like choo choo meme that was something that kinda started on farcaster when they were shipping every friday so they were shipping every friday something new and it just became like you know choo choo because the train keeps going so there you go maybe a ship friends yeah yeah a little shipping and it's super cute i really like it love the art the arts by jan perla of course it's very recognizable and you can see who passed to whom in this little list i got it around i think mine was 14 yeah 14 and then from yon and then passed it to max jackson there was a little people are asking me like well how did that all happen and there was some wheeling and dealing happening in the background i'll be honest because jc got it and then she was like wanted to send it to burr and me so she could only send it to burr so then she negotiated to eventually get it to me i'm like

19:17Speaker 1

oh those back channels man

19:20Speaker 0

it's back channels those cabals are kawals choo choo cabal but also there's a lot of people just doing it randomly so if you see a post that says reply and you're one of somebody's gonna be chosen that's really what's happening there's a mechanism within the mini app to do that to send it to somebody and also if the person doesn't send it within two hours anyone can click on the yoink and you'll be able to take it so keep an eye out this one has thirty minutes left just saying so there you go so it's and when

20:01Speaker 1

we will ask ourselves why we didn't get any work done this week we can say

20:05Speaker 0

choo choo choo choo choo and this was from jan and by the way that garrett sort of be garrett is one of the folks behind this along with oops i'm losing my my things along with john bray and jan furlat was is the artist who did the nft artwork which

20:29Speaker 1

i really enjoy his art or their art it's just so fun yeah

20:34Speaker 0

it's so fun he just has a very and he's so recognizable like you know it's his as soon as i i was like oh you know he's involved yeah

20:42Speaker 1

love it

20:43Speaker 0

just so fun so amazing to see and great job to the team because this has been taking over my whole feed okay in other farcaster news this should have been up front sorry this from our friend daniel of the merkle team new mini app sdk action sign manifest mini apps can now request users to sign domain ownership this unlocks v v zero lovable for farcaster ai platforms that let you vibe code mini apps and host them for you while keeping ownership tied to your account what this means create your mini app with prompting platform hosts while you own you get the developer rewards you you're recognized as the creator so this is like a little bit technical but for those who are developing mini apps this is a great improvement i think this is linda kind of gave a little bit more on this very excited about this update now vibecoders on platforms that use the new farcaster sdk action can own the mini apps they create so if you look at any mini apps you'll see they always have who created them and that's what this is referring to so very cool

21:59Speaker 1

have you been by coding professor

22:02Speaker 0

i did a little bit of so i did a session with linda

22:05Speaker 1

i saw that

22:06Speaker 0

where she taught me how to do create a mini app and i did some by coding then but i realized which i intuitively knew already and it said that there was more to it and that i probably couldn't get to the point of actually putting the mini app out there and this is some of the reason why is all these little things that manifest into this and that and there's a lot to it to creating a mini app there's a lot

22:33Speaker 1

yeah i felt like i felt like that scene i think it's mission impossible where he has all the screens and there's you know i'm like in it i'm like oh this is amazing and then what came out was like my name's jim i'm

22:49Speaker 0

like oh oh devs you are safe yeah

22:53Speaker 1

you are all safe

22:54Speaker 0

you are very safe that's how i felt too i was like okay that's good like i i was able to create a little game it worked fine on the web and then like i could almost get it to the mini app version just couldn't quite get it over the line but then i was looking at it and i'm like yeah but it's just not great and like i really don't wanna put it out in the world unless it's great and it just needs something it needs many things but it also just like the design was just meh and so i have what it did was give me a lot more respect for the devs oh my god and the people doing this

23:28Speaker 1

like i had sent something to brock and he was like congratulations you're a developer

23:33Speaker 0

now no

23:34Speaker 1

thanks for humoring me

23:36Speaker 0

yes yeah i mean it's just it's so it's so much harder than you think

23:40Speaker 1

so much harder

23:41Speaker 0

yeah i mean

23:41Speaker 1

it's exciting to think where

23:43Speaker 0

it's gonna go and just oh

23:44Speaker 1

for sure like democratizing access to people and i think getting ideas to devs more yes is great to make you to use it for that yes that purpose but otherwise they're safe

23:58Speaker 0

yeah i it's still not quite there not not for my level of lack of expertise it's just yeah not not quite there but i did i think everyone should try that mhmm because it gives you a much greater appreciation for what people are developing and especially for somebody like jc four p who is like can spit these out in his sleep or brock or you know what i mean like yeah mad respect mad respect

24:27Speaker 1

mad respect

24:28Speaker 0

yeah amazing agreed okay moving on yeah few more things in the fc news and then we've got a few other categories here we have a bug in some prices showing up higher than expected in the ui funds are safe we'll fix this shortly the this was actually some people were seeing the eth much higher than it should have been people were not that upset about it but yeah that'd be nice but also they're old like that not accurate do you remember when polygon used to do that if you would go into like polygon it would show matic with an eth price and it was just like the first time it happened i was like i don't think that's right but let me see if i can swap it really

25:13Speaker 1

yeah it's like when you get airdropped some cookie token and it's like you have $75,000,000 like no you don't

25:21Speaker 0

no you don't no no you really don't that happens in the warplet every once in a while that happened i think yesterday there was a new token and i was like for a minute i had a thousand dollars more than i should and i'm like yeah i don't think so i don't think so this from varun looking for beta testers for token alerts a new feature would let you get alerts when people you know trade or when tokens reach specific price targets reply if you're interested in testing this out i think i was thrown into the test group that i didn't actually respond to this because i do have something now that i can toggle on for notifications that i can toggle on for cas or tokens or just one or the other for people like if you go to their account so i think i'm in the test group and and just didn't even realize it so but that'll be interesting because you'll be able to see like what they're trading you might like them as traders but maybe don't care about needing a notification for their content or vice versa so that's interesting yeah so more social stuff

26:23Speaker 1

this me

26:25Speaker 0

have you have you looked at rips yet no it's the top mini app right now rips is come on come on come on it's a new mini app where you're ripping packs but but what you're ripping is coins so the coins end up in your wallet and but you're ripping them like you know baseball card packs kind of thing digital yeah so it is it's kind of a fun fun thing it reminds me similar to like a warp slot or the scratch but in a different mechanism and really fun so i don't really i i did ask them because the dev was behind it i did go check them out a little bit don't know them but looks like a legit team that's been building this for a while so

27:13Speaker 1

very cool

27:14Speaker 0

check it out and they've been keep ending up at the top of the mini app leaderboard there so battling it out with better so go check it out it's pretty cool

27:25Speaker 1

very cool and i

27:25Speaker 0

i've started to see a lot of people who are ripping so very interesting that's true this from our friend nikki sapp as soon as it comes up

27:37Speaker 0

there was a situation with circus so nikki sapp and team created this token launch platform circus for i think it's for solana it might be for base now also i think it's both now but they decided to basically sell the project turn it over to another team and they had announced this a couple weeks ago so i'm gonna read this from nikki and just stay safe out there probably won't read the whole thing but i'll read part of it he said sure happy to address this absolute mess he was responding to thebestpizza eth irresponsible and nonsensical to hand over fully full supply control to a team to take over many people have been scammed okay so what happened was this new team apparently

28:28Speaker 0

just took all the liquidity and ran off so there's a big issue so this is what nikki had to say i announced a cto of circus a few weeks back we handed over the project to a team we had worked with for a couple of months who successfully closed deals with some kols managed launches community engagement etcetera i met with their dev who came across as a reasonably knowledgeable guy these were people we spoke to on a daily basis via either telegram or voice we didn't have any reason to consider this team untrustworthy if anything they were eager to make the project succeed a cto is just that a takeover community takeover the deal was that we would provide them with the l p tokens and would keep paying for the infra while we transition the code to their team in return they would keep the project going grow it and give new life where we couldn't they continually dragged the launch date out further and further but kept us in the loop constantly we were even going to help them with some of the configurations for the launch with the intention to use the circus launchpad the other night the lead guy started threatening me trying to squeeze me for money he sent me pics of my family and made several threats i would consider severe yeah the following day he apologized for crashing out and went on to continue to planning the launch which was meant to be this week approximately yeah approximately twenty three thirty c e s t i started getting messages about a rug that occurred and tweets from the circus social accounts which had turned over weeks ago probably the worst possible outcome imaginable and i'm still getting all the facts myself very frustrating especially when i am not at my desk and able to handle things appropriately

30:10Speaker 1

wow wow is right so

30:12Speaker 0

wow be super careful if you have anything in yeah sorry mika i had tokens staked in circus i don't think i had anything over there i'm not sure i can't remember i know i checked it out but i don't think i did anything i can't remember but be really careful right now i don't know if it's safe to try and even pull anything out at this point but i would suggest just like keeping an eye on nikki's account and and keeping an eye on what he has to say about that so crazy

30:51Speaker 1

good reminder that there are some turds among us yeah yeah

30:56Speaker 0

yep yeah and so the whole thing about the family was like that was crazy and you know what i saw him post something about threatening the family or something and i was like what is he talking about and then then this came out later so wild

31:13Speaker 1

very so wild boo boo

31:15Speaker 0

32:14Speaker 0

so love to see this if you love the purple app and you love the purple app and so do we trade every farcaster project and coin including our besties betterment with a premium suite of features to supersize your swaps the place to trade everything on base is it's matcha so they're incorporating a social feed into matcha as well which is becoming a bit of a theme so yeah very very exciting very very exciting to see this from me i'll just mention this really quick and then i have a few other things i have to pull up so during my class the other night i did launch a token with them so this is a real thing i did not a fake called extra credit we're gonna be playing around with it the rest of semester and you'll see it being used on the timeline and things like that there is 30% locked up but what i also the also the other thing is that the students have a they have a an assignment a tokenomics assignment which i've done many times before so this is not something new i do this do this every semester but we're getting to a point where it's much easier for them to actually enact things and i have to say things like but don't launch the token or you're you're gonna i'm gonna fail you is the new thing i now have to say which it was really funny and they're like why can't we launch it why can't we and i'm like because i don't want you to please don't because you don't know what you're doing and i just know that you're gonna do something stupid and then i'm gonna get in trouble so please don't so that was really fun but i was going through everything on clanker.world and kind of the way that they have the new settings now you get to talk about a lot of things like lockups investing and all these different things so getting them to think about if i'm designing a token what does it look like what are the choices that i make in regards to these things how does it impact the token itself etcetera etcetera so yeah

34:31Speaker 1

how is it being received by them

34:34Speaker 0

okay this was really funny so i pull up the clanker.world site and for a minute there i didn't realize that the token that was prominently displayed was cryptodickbot

34:52Speaker 0

yeah yeah yeah yeah so that was embarrassing of like oh yeah let me just scroll over this way a little bit and then i just had to explain yes that their the crypto humor does tend towards the adolescent boy humor they kinda have a big overlap and you just have to roll with it yeah so yeah you know that's fun stuff yeah but they're i think they're you know some of them are a little bit more into crypto and they're like really you know interested and everything's you know they're staying after class and we're talking and things like that and then you've got the other ones who they're taking this for an elective they aren't really interested they've you know it's it's you know fun but they won't be sticking around so it'll you know we'll see how it all plays out but it's always a fun thing to see what they come up with with their tokens because they do think it through pretty well usually so yeah the biggest thing this year was like please don't launch it please don't launch it it please please please please alright few few more things here we've got some builders building stuff ripping friction out of tipping use ripper to retroactively tip who you interacted with on a farcastee in the past x days so similar to the way we had merkle doing the farcaster tipping once a week it's like that where you can tip retroactively people that you have inter interacted with i don't know if this will load for me right now but it will show you who you've interacted with etcetera and then you can tip them out directly

36:36Speaker 1

so it's hard to remember to do it every week especially if you're not kind of on the yeah

36:41Speaker 0

you're not prompted anymore so it's more like mostly people are doing tipping usually using noise or tip in mhmm and you're doing it with every like and this one is more like a one time thing where you might have a better idea of your you know budget and what you're doing

36:58Speaker 1

nice

36:59Speaker 0

yeah then this from colin this is an interesting thing that's going on over time financial products become social and social products become financial and he's commenting on robinhood introducing robinhood social coming next year show off your recent gains discuss strategies follow your favorite traders and make market moves in real time and this was from dan related a lot harder to you to add a social network to your trading app than a trading app to your social app

37:29Speaker 1

yeah i thought oh let me go inside my bank and make friends

37:33Speaker 0

like my bank app oh oh just where i thought i'd find all the cool people in my bank app it's true you're in a very different place where you've got matcha adding social feed you've got robinhood adding social feed you've got you know coinbase wallet becoming baseapp and at it incorporating the farcaster feed zapper same thing

38:01Speaker 1

yep

38:01Speaker 0

wallet adding feed so we're seeing this convergence where everyone kind of goes yep this is the way hey hi dave say hi we love we love the cats we love the animals he's like alright thank you

38:17Speaker 1

he's very sweet

38:18Speaker 0

sorry carry on time

38:19Speaker 1

go on no it's okay nothing to see here

38:23Speaker 0

nothing to see here oh so cute yeah so i think we're seeing a lot more of that and it's really interesting it's very interesting yeah so speaking of base app we've had a few things updates here so this is from shinta and wake up chat base app has dynamic image previews of all your posts share trade support creators and this was showing robin playing the irish tin whistle we don't know why it's funny it's a funny post what did you ask you

38:57Speaker 1

how are you splitting your time between baseapp and farcaster

39:02Speaker 0

i was trying to do a fairly even split but find myself sort of falling back to farcaster more i'm trying to i i'm trying to do better but i've slipped

39:15Speaker 1

same because i missed the i missed the group the community groups like posting to groups

39:21Speaker 0

channels channels yeah yeah so that's when i'm posting to a channel i was always using farcaster mhmm and i post a lot to gm farcaster's channel

39:32Speaker 1

right

39:32Speaker 0

so that was a big reason yeah it's it's hard to figure out if you're doing when you're doing both but what i do find beneficial is that the algorithm is different i do see some different things so it is good to go into those other clients and there's a bunch of other clients too there's firefly there's recaster and there's a few others that are on the way like dgen so i do find that interesting that i do have i do see different things if they can get the bugs figured out with the chat over on base app i also think the chat is interesting in terms of being able to use ai agents and we've played around with that i think that's really cool yeah but there's been it's been pretty buggy is the problem

40:18Speaker 1

feel like we come out of basecamp with something that inspires us to spend more time on there

40:23Speaker 0

i think that will be a big part of the goal the other issue that i have personally this is not a issue for anybody else is that there is no web version so we show cas on the screen so i that's the other thing is i'm always using i use this on my laptop a lot right so i tend towards the web

40:46Speaker 1

so i imagine it's coming right

40:48Speaker 0

like yes i know it's on the roadmap i just don't know what but here's a few updates from them time to update the base app so if you haven't updated your base app in a while go make sure that's updated here's what's new in our latest update browse an improved feed with more posts from the people you follow and posts you can buy create posts directly from the compose icon on your home tab see avatars for group chats and get notifications to join that was one of the issues that they were having with some group chats share posts with dynamic previews linking to base app for those not using the app hit your farcaster storage limit now we automatically upgrade so you can keep posting that's very cool find coins you've created easier than ever with better asset logos and tons of performance gains across the app with fixes to deep links permissions and prefetching tell us what you want next so very cool very very cool yeah i'm really curious to see what we hear from them at basecamp as well mhmm and this from oxpin just fixed a crucial ui issue for trading content coins on baseapp we removed the dollar sign equivalent in the trade widget way smoother now update your app and try it now so i have to go in and try that and see how that works

42:15Speaker 1

they were going to get shipping

42:18Speaker 0

always so much shipping i also love that they do recharge weeks i think that's seriously smart very smart so you have

42:30Speaker 1

to keep like these things phases of work right i think that's very cool and then give everything and you

42:35Speaker 0

can tell they're in the they came off of recharge and they went you know they just hit the ground running and they i think leading up to base camp they wanted to get a lot of things out there mhmm so i get that and if you want to hear more about what people are building on base the based builder show is back today we'll be doing some live reflection tomorrow that's today on the based builder show as jack wilds and i host audiocrypt from the black mirror project on base streaming live from build on base on x at eleven a m eastern so there you go yeah so cool this from interesting fc does not mark this morpho cast as an ad but tva does also the casts are different cast itself is the same but the image is subtly different different app publisher different dollar values how's this happen would love to learn more so essentially what's happening over on the based app is if it's an ad it is marked as an ad it means they paid for increased visibility and hopefully to get more engagement but because it's a post on farcaster it's just going to show up as a regular cast it's not going to have any boost or anything so that's why it's not marked as an ad on farcaster it's just a regular cast and it just has the same kind of it should have the same kind of regular engagement it would normally get so right although it might get a little higher because it's getting engagement over there i don't know at the protocol level but it's yeah you're gonna see different things like that so there are a few ads that are circulating on the base app like morpho matcha uniswap i think those are the only three i've seen so far so how do we feel about ads in our feed i don't know i don't know i think it's a inevitability you have to find ways to be sustainable so i don't yeah i'm not surprised

44:46Speaker 1

i've been chatting with this platform that is they're building a decentralized component to it it's called we are eight it's already out but oh very much still in beta and they have a really interesting approach to ads where you it's essentially pay to watch

45:03Speaker 0

oh interesting

45:05Speaker 1

no no watch to earn

45:07Speaker 0

watch to earn

45:08Speaker 1

yeah yeah it makes

45:09Speaker 0

sense you're paying the people to yes

45:12Speaker 1

so people if you watch you know thirty seconds of an ad you're gonna get some tokens airdropped so i think that would be an interesting approach here as well

45:21Speaker 0

i think so too i think that's the direction to go in it's gonna be so they're gonna have to find a way yes you contract with the brand you know baseapp or whoever or farcaster and they pay you but then you take some of that and distribute back to the viewers or whatever and i think that's the smart way to go for sure yeah we're already seeing some of that too like have you used retake at all yet

45:49Speaker 1

this is the streaming service yeah no i wanted to pick your brain on that

45:54Speaker 0

yeah so that is it's not exactly like this but you can tip those who are watching in while they're while they're watching the reason we don't use it for gm farcasters it's just too much to manage and we wouldn't give it enough we wouldn't be able to give retake enough attention but adrian and i are both doing like some separate other streams just on retake and playing around with it so and i'll probably do one tomorrow like in our off days i've been trying to do some so yeah

46:25Speaker 1

yeah i have to play around with it

46:27Speaker 0

yeah it's definitely worth checking out for sure it's it's it's fun i like that aspect of it it's just hard to manage basecamp basecamp so the basecamp schedule is out on twitter everyone was missing my point here looking forward to seeing fellow campers next week i'm like why are you not posting this also on the base app yeah what's my point

46:54Speaker 1

come on people come on comms get it together

46:57Speaker 0

because i'm like i'm looking for it and i wanted to share it and i'm like i don't wanna have to share yeah the twitter version anyway so very fun very excited excited to be going looking forward to seeing a lot of folks from farcaster there including you rachel wilkins what are you looking forward to most the the pickleball tattoos

47:19Speaker 1

yes i it was funny because jen jen is very upset that she's not coming especially when she saw the schedule and so she's

47:26Speaker 0

like made for her

47:27Speaker 1

yeah it's so made for her i said i she said you should take my pickleball bat and i'm like i am not taking a professional pickleball bat because people will make an assumption that i am good and i am not and i don't wanna be that guy and i go oh look who brought the room baton

47:45Speaker 0

i can't

47:45Speaker 1

even forget this the bowl over the net no but i am excited yeah it's gonna

47:51Speaker 0

be fun it's gonna be fun

47:53Speaker 1

it's gonna

47:53Speaker 0

be fun there's a lot of fun aspects to this i am bringing equipment and i am no no recording equipment

48:06Speaker 1

what do

48:06Speaker 0

you do

48:07Speaker 1

are you gonna record james smartcast alive

48:09Speaker 0

no i'm not even gonna attempt that but what i am gonna do is try and do a lot of mini interviews with folks nice and try and have like a whole adrian and i are both have some set questions we're both gonna try and do on different trips that we're doing she's gonna be a dev connect and then we'll you know piece them all together and and stuff like that so

48:30Speaker 1

so you have a plan i do not i

48:31Speaker 0

have a plan i have an actual plan

48:33Speaker 1

my my my rig which is me and a little tiny camera and i am just gonna wing it i'm gonna see what the vibe is

48:41Speaker 0

i mean my plan i think i just told you the whole plan in that i'm bringing equipment with me and i have questions but i have no other plans besides that yeah but i think that's mostly yeah what i'm what i'm looking to accomplish here is just talk to as many builders as i can and do like quick little mini interviews love it and some karaoke and poker this is this is my plan

49:04Speaker 1

you got karaoke game bruff

49:06Speaker 0

we gotta do it we gotta do it burry back at you we gotta do it okay also on the timeline lot of people had a lot of feelings about the apple event yesterday like a lot of feelings especially regarding the colors i personally like the orange i like

49:26Speaker 1

orange yeah

49:27Speaker 0

like i'm not mad at these colors at all

49:30Speaker 1

this is kinda like the developer the marketing team and then the personality hire in the middle that's accurate like i

49:41Speaker 0

i i don't have a problem with this so but there's a lot of people choice

49:44Speaker 1

bitcoin orange

49:46Speaker 0

yeah it's bitcoin orange the other thing this looked really cool so this is from jc wow wow the new apple airpods pro has real time two way translation translates what you're hearing into your native language directly in ear and translates what you're saying into theirs via text on your iphone insanely useful like that is

50:08Speaker 1

crazy

50:09Speaker 0

next level like

50:10Speaker 1

it is next level

50:11Speaker 0

you know what i mean worth getting a new pair of

50:14Speaker 1

airdrop even if the $3,000 which they probably will be but i was talking to jen about this yesterday because she she's a a criminal defense attorney right and she is she does pool work for the public defender's office and and a large percentage of her clients are hispanic and she doesn't speak spanish and the state spends so much money and so much time on translation services and she's constantly doing these kinda calls back and forth and i said they should just wipe out that whole service layer and just give you all these these pet phones they'll probably save hundreds of thousands of dollars yep she's like look massive massive what if it's not accurate i said honestly they're probably gonna be 10 times more accurate than any human translation

51:01Speaker 0

i mean there is that concern that it's not accurate you can also double check if something's not

51:07Speaker 1

that's true

51:07Speaker 0

seeming correct that's true so yeah it's gonna be it's gonna be interesting to see how that plays out i could see a few other issues coming up as well the way this could be used but i think it's really interesting

51:23Speaker 1

can i tell you a funny story yes about language

51:26Speaker 0

please do

51:26Speaker 1

so my i've been going to spain since i was tiny because we we had a

51:31Speaker 0

because you're european

51:32Speaker 1

yeah we had a vacation home in mallorca when i was a kid and so you know it's like going to florida because it's two hour flight right so my mom actually worked and lived in spain from when she was like 18 to 22 so my mom speaks fluent spanish but you would not know that she spoke fluent spanish because she doesn't really use it right unless she has to

51:54Speaker 0

yeah

51:55Speaker 1

we were in a very tourist heavy area in like magalof or somewhere and we were in this like souvenir store and i remember just i was probably about 10 years old all of a sudden my mom's like we're leaving and she escorts us out of the store and then turns back around walks into the store and gives like this tirade in spanish which i'd never heard my mom speak spanish

52:19Speaker 0

and i

52:20Speaker 1

was like what just happened like like what is going on so apparently the shopkeeper had said in spanish keep an eye on these people english people like to steal oh wow and my mom was like excuse me so she went and ripped this lady a new one in spanish reminding her to be conscious

52:45Speaker 0

of who can understand and who cannot that's really it i can see that happening a lot with these headphones like a lot yeah because there's just gonna be do you remember that episode of seinfeld no see my i'm i'm lacking

53:01Speaker 1

in my seinfeld cult culture

53:03Speaker 0

there's an episode of seinfeld where she's at her nail salon korean and they are oh korean okay and they talk and she's like i feel like they're talking about me and they and they all speak perfect english as well but they're like i feel like they're talking about me and she's like no no and then so she brings somebody in to it's george's dad and he busts them yeah and like that's that kind of stuff is gonna happen a lot

53:28Speaker 1

it is gonna happen it's gonna happen and also just an extension of this like i was

53:32Speaker 0

he knew he knew the nail episode he knew

53:37Speaker 1

so we're just even thinking about the like the rapid speed at which we're moving forward now with like just the the tools that we're gonna have at our fingertips like i was at the un for an event last year and oh yeah there was a guy who shared something and literally the hairs went up on my arm he said within five years so now within four years we will be able to understand and decode every creature on this planet yeah like the language the language of the communication of my

54:08Speaker 0

amazing so imagine that now what if you can translate dolphin

54:13Speaker 1

well that's what that's what they're saying

54:15Speaker 0

in your airpods but i mean like

54:18Speaker 1

what are the dolphins gonna say

54:20Speaker 0

gonna go on to the dolphin the dolphin tour and yeah see what they have to say

54:26Speaker 1

i think they must be going

54:30Speaker 0

weee pretty much happy creatures very happy creatures my favorite my favorite animal so i i you know a lot of lot of lot of things lot of people had issues metamask really likes the orange introducing the apple metamask iphone there you go and they didn't even have to develop a whole thing you know there you go yeah so there we go there's the the big the big use

55:00Speaker 1

please please clip that we for future b roll use i told you i'm spicy this morning

55:07Speaker 0

i've only had one cup of cup you know that is a great that is a great point we definitely need that and you know what you just reminded me see this is why i need adrian because we have more sound effects and i totally meant to play this

55:24Speaker 0

the choo choo and i forgot i totally forgot also adrian has added a couple things in here and this is one that i thought we needed for the discussion on people whining about mama's had enough mama's had enough mama's had enough mama's had enough what did she had enough of i forget what that time was it was something like that it was something like people were whining about something

55:53Speaker 1

you remember the video that went viral where the woman's come at comes out of her house and she's like oh lord jesus it's a fire

56:01Speaker 0

how about how bad is

56:02Speaker 1

and they did like a whole like song we need yep we need a song around that so we

56:07Speaker 0

need a song around that and then we also have this one in case anybody has a new token token do what would the token do what would the token do what would the token do so we need to add we need to add rachel's

56:23Speaker 1

come on we need the musicians in the in the crew in the audience to make this happen this is so good

56:28Speaker 0

i forgot to share super tight woody's been doing some really cool music things by the way so if you're not following him give him a follow

56:37Speaker 1

he's

56:37Speaker 0

doing some amazing amazingly fun things where he took he sampled his dogs his actual dogs and he did this whole thing with pulling the sounds from the dogs into a song and it's really good so go check that out i'll add the link to the show notes but i forgot to pull it okay but it was so good

56:58Speaker 1

you could release it as a a holiday a holiday song

57:02Speaker 0

oh yeah exactly it's like the jingle bell yeah dog dog thing it's it's out there you can check it out it's really fun let's talk about you for a little bit you've had some stuff going on this was from rachel i'm joining the city kids foundation as part time director of emerging tech and digital programs i've loved advising this team for years and now i'll help lead the strategy for a vision that belongs on chain city kids speak on liberty keith haring's largest work created with 1,000 kids in the nineteen eighties so talk about this a little bit i was there with you

57:37Speaker 1

i

57:38Speaker 0

got to see in person when this went up this was so cool yeah talk about like what you're going to be doing and what's involved with all this

57:48Speaker 1

well well thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about it yeah that's very exciting so this is like i i've been in around this team since 2021 and i just adore them they are phenomenal so laurie medoff is the cofounder of the organization she started it in the eighties it's called the city kids foundation they are a nonprofit that essentially helps to create safe space for young people from diverse backgrounds just incredible work she's done amazing work over the years but in the eighties they reached out to keith haring and said because a a lot of their programming just to kinda back up was around the idea of art as a form of activism and so you know it's the eighties lori knows everyone she is kind of like the mayor of new york she you know she was friends with demi moore demi fun fact demi moore actually bought the rights to lori's life story back in the eighties never developed it but she bought the rights so anyway they did

58:46Speaker 0

not know that that's wild

58:48Speaker 1

there's a ton of really cool like spin off stories like a lot of a lot of i said you need to write a book but anyway she gets keith haring rents out the javits center keith brings this boat sail that's what the material is it's a giant boat sail and they ship in a thousand kits

59:06Speaker 0

no that's what it was okay

59:07Speaker 1

yeah because you i mean who could get a canvas piece of canvas that big like it's right

59:11Speaker 0

that makes sense

59:12Speaker 1

90 feet tall yeah spreads this thing out on the floor of the javits center and starts to draw the statue of liberty and if you look the statue of liberty's arm is wobbly and so somebody said to keith hey keith you know what what's up with the arm and he said well i kinda made a mistake i was going in the wrong direction and then i was like actually i'm not gonna correct this because liberty is wobbly i just love that line yeah just so so perfect especially what we're dealing with right now so anyway thousand thousand city kids created this piece it's been exhibited all over the world it's you know this is this was us showcasing it at art basel miami it's been at the super bowl it's been behind paul mccartney like it has done the rounds the one issue we have is it's very hard to sell now yeah city kids needs to sell this to stay alive they unfortunately like a a lot of nonprofits funding is scarce right now this would keep the cause alive if we can move this piece and we're just starting to think creatively like how can we bring what is really known as the people's masterpiece like it's a piece created by many right how can we bring that to people in a way that is thoughtful intentional and then hopefully with the funds the goal is they have a an agreement with the lower east side girls club in new york city to develop the school of audivism where they can just renew their programming so yeah we're having a lot of conversations i met with some i met some of the guys from superrare last night we're talking to them which is open to see yeah exploring ideas

60:59Speaker 0

so amazing amazing

61:01Speaker 1

all the big brains we can get on this

61:04Speaker 0

and it's really an incredible piece like if you ever get a chance to see it in person it's it's amazing i was i was i sat and looked at that on the wall there were some benches right near there you can't see them they're kind of off screen and i just sat there for a while and just looked at it because it was pretty impressive

61:22Speaker 1

i was explaining this to somebody last night like when we put that up like it we there was like the team of us holding it with ropes we got that florida wind that kinda swept through and this thing was blowing in the wind and there's there's magic to this piece like you cut like you said you're in the presence of it and you're looking at it and you're like this is this there's so much story here there's so much depth like it needs to be brought to the world and then the fun twist here as well is just a couple of months ago they found a storage unit the city kids foundation found a storage unit with boxes of video vhs video that is all from the day that keith created so they've been working on a documentary for the last couple of months herbie hancock nile rogers a bunch of other like great leaders people from the haring foundation talking about keith creating this so that's gonna be that's in the works but obviously also you know funding is crucial so my big vision here is we're either putting we're either inscribing the work on bitcoin and then selling it with with the original so you would buy the ordinal and you would own the original and maybe the person might wanna donate it to you know an institution

62:38Speaker 0

yeah mhmm

62:40Speaker 1

or we parcel it up and we sell it as individual pieces

62:47Speaker 0

so that's painful that's painful but

62:51Speaker 1

painful painful how tell me

62:52Speaker 0

i wonder if i mean breaking it up like if you actually break up the physical piece that would be

62:58Speaker 1

i do not wanna break the physical piece yeah but the conversation and and the reception i got at moma last night when i shared that idea with people was absolutely do not break this piece up which i tend to agree with yeah but the we have already digitally photographed it like at a very high resolution

63:15Speaker 0

digital a digital version cool especially if it could be almost like a puzzle you know where you're putting pieces together that's that's that i like

63:25Speaker 1

that's how it's been digitalized as input puzzle pieces yeah but then it's you know i i what i think what would be phenomenal is we had like some some dao or institution buy this outright parcel it up and gift it to their members and then oh

63:41Speaker 0

that's interesting yeah

63:43Speaker 1

donate the piece prep to i don't know to the liberty state park or something something where it could be you know a whole story around this

63:51Speaker 0

so very interesting

63:53Speaker 1

we need big brains this is a community effort so yeah

63:57Speaker 0

i think also the documentary sounds interesting that maybe that can play a role in you know hopefully finding the right the right home and i feel like the documentary also might be the thing if you can find a buyer of that then maybe there's some funding that can continue on as well so well i think

64:19Speaker 1

it's particularly interesting because next year is the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the us right so this really is the year that it needs to be placed and one of the thoughts that we we had was i actually reached out to the folks from pleaseadao

64:36Speaker 0

oh okay

64:37Speaker 1

we could potentially fund the documentary by selling some of the stills from the movie which is never before seen footage of keith creating yeah

64:46Speaker 0

that could be

64:46Speaker 1

i mean it's when i tell you that i'm gonna send send you privately the link to some of the video but there's like a boombox and his like he's got his like adidas high tops on it

64:56Speaker 0

sure of course

64:57Speaker 1

he's and it's just it's so it's so awesome so awesome very cool so yeah big brain people we need ideas and you know this could help fund just years of incredible work so

65:14Speaker 0

amazing and you have a couple other things happening you were over at sony what was all what was this about what are you doing with sony

65:22Speaker 1

i can't say too much but i will say that we were part of a task force on emerging technology that was 10 to 15 leaders and i have to say all women

65:34Speaker 0

oh wow nice

65:35Speaker 1

not by design but happened to be all women so leaders from google from bloomberg few other organizations talking about the future of fandom

65:45Speaker 0

so

65:45Speaker 1

it was actually the the fandom division inside of sony pictures so it was a think tank interesting around how we grapple with this moment with ai in terms of all the intellectual property that sony owns how we can unlock commerce so yeah i was very much talking about blockchain

66:07Speaker 0

very cool creator coins come to mind in content coins so we'll see and then this kicking off something new at good news studio each week we'll share a thought piece inspired by conversations from our podcast the good news the good news is dry diving into culture tech and consciousness first up the future of health and why ancient wisdom still matters so very cool so if you have not subscribed yet go find this in rachel's feed i'll also include this link in the show notes and subscribe so that you get it in your inbox

66:50Speaker 1

thank you

66:50Speaker 0

okay one more thing i did find this i finally found the dog's thing so i just wanted to show you it's those are his actual dogs but he did a whole video this is super tight woody he did a whole video and i'm not gonna show it but he goes into all the different ways and all the things he did with his dogs to make this video and it is hilarious to make the song and he goes into like yeah they're pooping they're doing all the things it's so funny it's so well done he wow shows all the samples the dog panting the clicking the food the barking it's so good so in the food that'd be fun and then you can also mint it on tortoise which is emily's

67:42Speaker 0

app so very cool so go check it out but go watch his video too because it's so good

67:47Speaker 1

that's so fun

67:48Speaker 0

and then you can go and mint the actual song as an nft on taurus so there you go

67:56Speaker 1

maybe super tight woody needs to be brought in to make the gm forecaster rap or the gm forecaster deep house

68:05Speaker 0

he he does you realize that that's who the theme song is by super tight woody

68:10Speaker 1

these little outtake songs not that part

68:13Speaker 0

that you know we were already the his song is our theme song okay so when you hear that instrumental version of it's eris me flamingo so it's it's super tight witty

68:25Speaker 1

on brand

68:26Speaker 0

yeah yeah absolutely one last thing that i wanted to share this was something you had posted every year the first glimpse of the nineeleven remembrance lights stops me in my tracks a powerful reminder etched into the sky spotted tonight on my walk home from yoga class for those who may not know can you explain what this is for those who may not be aware of this

68:50Speaker 1

every year for the last i i assume they've been doing this since pretty close to to 09:11

68:56Speaker 0

i think it was i think they started it on the year on the year anniversary i think i think so there's two

69:03Speaker 1

giant lights that are installed in battery park so it's actually across the street from where the memorial is for 09:11 and they just shine like these huge beacons into the sky and they look like the towers and it is one of the most profound beautiful just living art pieces and it's up for the month of september so it just you know you forget about it every year and then all of a sudden you see it on the on the horizon and i just you know i can see this from this is my neighborhood i can see it and it's just it's beautiful i lived i lived during the the kind of the restoration and the rebuild of that whole plaza i actually lived right there in battery park

69:46Speaker 0

oh wow

69:47Speaker 1

okay and so there's like the every year around this time it's just there's like a solemnness and a you know a sadness there one year we we actually because of where my apartment was it was actually inside the enclosure for the reading of the names so we actually sat inside and so sad so sad so such a beautiful way to honor every year and i love that they still do it

70:13Speaker 0

i do too and that's the other reason i picked this as my background today was that is freedom tower in the background right behind here and that is where the twin towers used to stand so

70:30Speaker 1

it's amazing

70:31Speaker 0

always a big big moment and the other thing that a lot of people may not realize so this week is our gm forecaster anniversary is on the thirteenth the reason it's on the thirteenth which was a wednesday two years ago was because i didn't wanna do it on monday i didn't wanna do it on the eleventh so that was the reason mhmm so related yeah and yeah it's it's always it's always a tough anniversary i have my own story on that and i don't wanna dive into it but had some you know went through some even some therapy to to deal with some ptsd that i had from that day and so every year it's kind of a good mental health check for me to see where i'm at with that but i'm always thinking about those who we lost on that day and always a tough one so be thinking of everyone in new york tomorrow who's going through this and and remembering and yeah so twenty four years that's great

71:40Speaker 1

it's yeah and i think when you i've been here for almost twenty years now and i you know when you're in this region everybody has a story mhmm and there's one that always sticks out for me it's a friend of the of jen's family and she worked for cantor fitzgerald yeah they were in the first tower and i guess they were told to come down and they came down and the whole the whole department and somebody said you know okay it's safe to go back up and she said something in her like the pit of her stomach just said don't go back up but she'd left like everything up there she'd left her briefcase she'd left everything and she left and she was the only person that you know from that hot department but crazy story just to kinda end it on a lighter note weeks later she had a call or there was a call that came to her house and the the gentleman on the other end of the phone said you know is this said her name she said yeah and he said oh thank goodness usually when i make these calls like the person has passed away

72:45Speaker 0

oh

72:46Speaker 1

he said i have your briefcase oh wow she said that's crazy what and so her briefcase which was on like the 30 ninth floor or something insane survived and it's now in the smithsonian

73:00Speaker 0

oh wow

73:01Speaker 1

so oh that's wild samsonite a samsonite briefcase that survived

73:05Speaker 0

wow yeah that's a good ad for samsonite

73:08Speaker 1

wow that's wild there's so many stories like that you know in this region

73:12Speaker 0

but yeah so many stories

73:14Speaker 1

god bless all those families

73:16Speaker 0

yeah for sure yeah just it it's it's always a it's always a thing you know it's always like for me just takes a little bit of you know it's always a moment that i i spend a lot of time chatting with my family on on the eleventh every year so hug your family and on a lighter note rachel thank you so much for being here and i will so looking forward to seeing you sunday i'm a love to be happy to anyone else who is gonna be in base camp is gonna be hanging with us in vermont we'll see you shortly

73:58Speaker 0

74:03Speaker 1

be a good idea that

74:05Speaker 0

might be an idea

74:06Speaker 1

yeah they they're gonna round up the daos

74:09Speaker 0

or node might wanna have a conversation with phil maybe i don't know node foundation maybe

74:15Speaker 1

anyone got a spare 3,500,000.0 and wanna do some good

74:21Speaker 0
