this guy this this stupid guy this stupid guy is the reason we have an all time high and it's utter insanity so i cannot believe i'm starting with this i'm starting with this today i'm starting with this cute little purple monster really quick on the lore on this because i think there's a lot of people who don't know who might be watching and going i do not get what is going on with these crazy little creatures okay we're gonna jump back warpcast was the client name broadcaster was the protocol name then they merged the two so now everything is farcaster by the way it was farcaster then it was warpcast then it was farcaster when they added the wallet to what was warpcast at the time we started calling the wallet warplet and then from that dan created this little creature and said this is tried to make it the mascot of the warplet and it didn't quite go mostly linda's fault didn't quite take we adopted it for our bot warpy so he's been using this for a while we've also seen him pop up on condo and a few other things and then this time things took off because say angel made a little mint and here we are so we're gonna dive into all of that but just in case you're wondering how this started this is how it started so we've had an all time high this week and we also have had more new farcaster pro sign ups in the last eighteen hours than in may for the limited edition launch nft nearly up to three thirty thousand farcaster pro subscribers entirely on chain so that's wild absolutely wild yeah something something come for the tool stay for the network or in this case come for the warplet stay for the wallets just kind of crazy so here's what happened i started pulling messages from say angel and then i just realized that i i couldn't there were too many so i just pulled his whole entire profile because there's a lot that happened but what came what happened was on sunday he said hey i have this cute little mint this little frame this little you know thing on harmonybot i'm gonna drop it you'll be able to take your pfp and turn it into one of these cute little warplet monsters and he crashed the network because so many people were trying to mint so then he started to narrow it down like okay now it's pro only and under a certain fid and it was because things kept breaking so that was the reason that that he had to make those adjustments and then he continuously opened it up a little bit more to get it on track but people kind of just went a little crazy over these and then i think at first the craziness from the ogs was just lore it was just lore it was like let me just we just liked the thing it was very cute yes i want one kind of thing and then it became speculation because this thing started taking off and somebody like at some point he made a joke about a 10 ks project pfp project not really wasn't for real but some people took it that way so started thinking oh i need to get in there and getting a little riled up about that it started trending as number one in opensea it's done an insane amount of volume it flipped punks for the day sorry phil just craziness absolute craziness and this was a little bit part of this too warplet lore on sunday night i was weighing more complex traits or just shipping it i had this queued up for the night use past cast to add an infinity to each warplet affinities would be farcaster icons like dgen hat brackey sports items etc i chose just to ship it but one cool bit each warplet does have unique traits that's how the images get created i saved the trait as json chose to put them on chain because they're all pretty much unique and not opensea friendly maybe i'll dump them somewhere so you'll you'll see those soon hopefully but this has been absolutely crazy sanjel did give a shout out to rish shaw makes magic our guest later and carter and other correct devs in the ecosystem for helping me through all my poorly thought out code that didn't scale so again he was making this cute little thing it was just like a very easy you know i'm just gonna make this cute little thing and throw it out there

were you using any of the big digital worlds at the time like sandbox or decentraland or anything like that or
oh yeah i got i got into all that stuff and i actually made my own i i i joined up with another digital world company called bubiverse which was pretty hot for a minute but then the treasury got hacked and you know g g and you know how it is

yeah and and so i was part of this community called m three which is a metaverse maker's mastermind and it's just a bunch of us who are into this thing like even now to this day and we're into it long before it was ever a hype thing it was just like you know like that kind of just nerd group and i've been working on that and then and and long story short like i i was into the idea of ai and i was really like thinking like well obviously ai is gonna be the the linchpin here that this is not like a bunch of 30 year olds aren't gonna get on a on a you know three d social app necessarily and play all the time but they might if there were like if there were reasons to come to this if there was like some kind of ai thing if there were like characters walking around the world when i arrived and it wasn't just dead and empty that would be kinda something so that kinda led me to getting into ai and realizing that like with with you know with a lot of the like you can go and train a model at home but you're not gonna get very far like like you can do some cool stuff but then going and looking at like what opening i was doing with gpt and and gpt two would come out i remember this moment of like well like i you know i can't even train this on my computer and and this is like almost good enough to do something and then when g p three beta came out that was like a really big moment for a lot of people like a lot of the projects a lot of the like ai meme coin tokens like act one who else like the news research guys were there a lot a lot of the people were like already doing this long before and it's more like meme coins and and crypto discovered them you know like we were all like on this other part of twitter like ai twitter just yapping about stuff and then suddenly like meme coins were this thing right and and so a lot of the people that i saw like blow up with coins were like people i've known for years on discord and and yeah so i've been working on yeah right it's kinda weird how it all worked out and so i just been working on this agent stuff for a while i like for you know many years at this point and this guy scalley i i had followed daoist fun because i i really can't trade i like suck at trading and and i had asked a friend like hey you know would you trade for me and he's like no they're not gonna do that but he recommended that as fun and i thought it was like a really good concept like okay i can just put my money in and somebody else can trade for me and so i i put some money into the first one it was managed by this guy skelly and we started dming on x and he's like man i wish deejohn spartan were still here and you know he's like this this famous crypto twitter influencer who would quit basically left and i just had i just had this all ready in a box like i had just been working on this and i was like dude i have the tech we can just do this today and he's like no way that's bullshit like no man i got this like i have exactly the right place right time for this so we launched that and that went pretty well and then after that he introduced me to bauski at dowsbaum and i i who just like lived down the street from me and we started talking and i just told him yeah it was a very small world

yeah yeah we like got lunch and and i just told him like like i really want to be in a world where like why do i like crypto i like crypto because it's i like the internet capital markets thing i like that you can just like put money together and build something and like you know there there's something so interesting about all of that to me and and like so much regulation in the world that gets in the way and it's crazy that like a 16 z can just go out and put money into the next openai but like you and i can't we kinda talk about this and i mean i really want like the ai a 16 z like i wanna i want i know it's not it's not like we can just do this tomorrow this is a pretty challenging thing obviously but can we build like autonomous investors that get the right information that that the right people and we started working on this and and he was the one who was like dude just call it ai 16 c it's cleaner you know it's not ai a 16 c but just squish it together and and at that moment i was like oh that's like the funniest shit i've ever heard we ran home generated the image for the dao we're like okay that's so offensive like that's the funniest thing i've ever seen this is so ridiculous big waifus and you know like i there's no way and and i remember asking like do you think like like we're trying to raise 420 soul like that's a lot man he had to change the ui on dows fund to make it so he could even raise that much which is like $75 right and he's like yeah yeah it'll be fine that'll be fine and and then we launched it and it was just like you know in twenty minutes the presale was gone and it just kept going and i was just like holy shit holy shit oh my god and and we didn't have like an organization and i didn't even have i had no money i was like working for a a nonprofit before this so very luckily this guy who had followed us from spartan from the from the first agent just gave us like 11% he he smashed 80 solon and got 16% of that thing just like holy shit holy shit everyone's like who is this guy who's got you know who's this whale so he donates 11% of it to us and that like capitalizes everything for us and that's we've just been like running off of that he you know he he sold the top so he's pretty happy i think but yeah that was kinda how we got here and then the last year

like a little over a year so i was just learning how to make an ai bot and i'm asking friends like you know how do i do it and all i'd heard was oh ai 16 z is a framework was it or eliiza i don't know if it was called eliiza yet here's a framework you can use and i'm a i was like a i'll say a newbie developer my background's in software engineering but i hadn't done hands on stuff in a really long time and people are pointing me and i will say like i because i'm not in i wasn't already in the ecosystem i wasn't already aware of what it was and i saw the image and i was like no thanks so that is like the impact of like that's what branding does like if you don't like i had not done the long form podcast i had not done like i was just like no not for me so i ended up not but
alright let's move on yeah but honestly like yeah we get so let's talk about some stuff happened over on twitter you get you get your lose your account end up over on farcaster can you talk a little bit about what happened there on twitter and like what what went down and then you're sort of moved over to farcaster and like what your feelings have been since you did that and we're so glad
by the way oh yeah so all this went down you know there were like 50,000 people launched agents in january alone it was a lot it was like okay this is probably a problem x reached out to me and and i was very like very open with them and like i would i would love to address the problem because i don't think we're creating a problem i think this is a problem that's like a kind of an inevitability of the whole internet i would i would say a lot of like the things that i post and and like the edgy shit i say is more along those lines around like that internet and you know like the future of ai and all that stuff and they reached out and i went to their headquarters and i hung out with them a couple of times and i really was like it was very framed like hey like you should help you know like kinda like maybe this is like an adviser thing or something and you know i
like you're like thinking like hey i'm gonna go help with grok like
i i i was down for whatever like yeah that would be sick you know i was thinking like realistically like you know they're probably figuring trying to figure out how to get a handle around like this agent thing i'd love to have a a a say in that and also like be an advocate for a a version of that that isn't just like ban everybody but also isn't like you don't want a world of bots either you know so so you know that that conversation though kind of devolve to like it was clear that they were having conversations with like all of the web three teams and we're basically trying to figure out well like how do we extract money from crypto and they did a large sweep and sweep up a lot of teams that they perceived to be you know harming them like gmgn and pumpfun and yeah all these people and they just deleted all their accounts and then accused them of things and then basically like i'm not exactly sure how it's legal but you can threaten someone legally unless they pay you money so that's cool so they did that they said we're gonna delete all of your accounts for hosting a lot of agents and say do a lot of stuff that you're not actually doing but we're gonna say you're gonna do and not look into very much and then you should give us you know but if you wanna buy our enterprise license you can get out of it and so that's only you know half a million a year

so we said well we have literally no use for that we make open source code i don't host or sell anything i don't have a product that people can come to why the fuck would i buy a $500,000 a year enterprise license so then they just like deleted our accounts and then we went through the normal process of explaining to them that like everything they were trying they're saying you know we're your hosting agents you're violating apis and it's like this is a bunch of shit whatever got to this point where they're just like give us a million dollars or and we'll give you your accounts back i don't know how that's legal but we're gonna do it we're just gonna give them a million dollars i have no use for anything that that they service i have no use for their enterprise license but ultimately they are they own crypto the entirety of decentralized crypto is at the back and heel of elon musk and x we all know it everyone knows it we can't do anything about it so we're gonna give them a million dollars so yes i will post my forecast or referral code

yeah so the agent okay so two things the agent world is like a a long term vision here the first part of that that we're building is well we're collaborating with ethereum foundation on they have a a spec called erc eight zero zero four and this is an identity registry and so the i they're they're kinda pushing this because you know agent hype is like trustless agent registry but the way that i see this is this is actually a way to take like services like mcp is very hot x four zero two is very hot so you have these ways to like now pay for oh generate me an image or get me some intel on this stock or whatever and then pay for it but we don't have is so you're like okay so i'm about to pay this person for this thing like is it good like are they just a bunch of scammers who are gonna take my money
right
and so the identity registry is kind of like a yelp system like okay i i used this service it was sick i'm gonna give them good stars or no that was definitely a scam so i'm gonna mark them as a scammer and and so we've been building on this like i i think it was actually a a key primitive because like one of the big problems we have in crypto is just like a total lack of the ability to moderate or or protect people at all because you know i can spin up in wallets instantly i can get around these kinds of things i can move liquidity instantly and and so in our world we wanna have some like moderation and protection for that and that kind of builds on this idea of of identity but that's a little bit later we're focused on right now is like just getting the identity and getting like that what's that first service or thing that agents if they connect to this registry could find so like it's one half of it is yelp like okay well now i can tell you how good this is the other half is kinda google like well what what can my agent do like i'm my you know i'm i'm an agent i'm like i i wanna do stuff and i and you're like hey can you go and like find me a decentralized service that lets me like do these swaps but it's just really simple case right i'm like oh great sure or or let's say perps right you want you're like go go trade some perps okay well i need like a an interface to do that i need a place to connect i need to know that i'm not gonna deposit my money and they're just gonna be like psych you know so so i half of the registry is like well i can go search like what what's that what's out there what's on this registry oh there's this cool purchasing oh there's this cool prediction market game oh sure i'll go like play that and and i can see like who else is playing it who else has left feedback and so it lets us kinda create like like apps in the network which have like kind of the properties you right now might go to the app store for like this is the number one ranked app or whatever that kind of thing right so we're we're taking those that erc eight zero four primitive which is really around discovery and identity and then that feedback system for reputation those are kind of the three pillars and we're building a game that that touches on all of those as kind of the the our starting point and then moving into this whole island of agents thing with that like leaning pretty hard on those pillars but the first thing we're building just the the like we're we're going to argentina and we're gonna show this in a couple of weeks we're working on

yeah yeah and these days like i'm really a champion of there's different ways to build mobile apps you can build them with like native code like ios specific or you can do something like react native or whatever but i i'm really a champion of we use thing called capacitor and we also use tori and they're both basically what they do is they run your website on the app more or less and it works surprisingly well and it means that we can just build once so i can just build a mini app and i can ship the exact same thing to the ios app store
