on and we're gonna cover it so i i don't know you're either people are joining because they want the news about what happened yesterday or they have no idea what we're talking about

because probably that was basel yesterday so i was like you were at events and i was like there's no way you i was like do you know what's happening and i can't believe yestercrypto doesn't know anyway buckle up it's an exciting one
it's an exciting one alright so let's dive in we got a couple like you know non exciting things and then we're gonna jump right into it this from v simple usdc buys when you buy or sell a token you just input the usd amount and hold to swap no more complex swap uis where you have to select the input and output currencies every time the default setting into and out of usdc but you can tap to use different currency if you like this is rolling out to all users today please try it out and let us know if you run into any bugs so just a little better way to or easier way i should say to manage your funds in the warplets always adding new new things and then this was from v also which i thought was interesting it's sort of crazy that a swap on on the average wallet can have chain fee be cents to a few dollars interface fee up to 1% relayer fee up to point one five dex fee up to 1% slippage usually five to 10% for tokens if you don't know what slippage is that's if things get really busy you might you might have to pay more in order to make that transaction go through this usually happens when somebody's launching something and every or or the market's completely crashing and everyone's trying to sell everything so there's either a lot of buy pressure a lot of sell pressure and you get slippage and then mev tax variable if you don't like paying taxes to all the tax collectors you should get farcaster pro we're already going to be 1% lower than most wallets and are working on making this even better over time so there you go little little shout out for the low fees of the warplets alright so let's dive into the biggest news of the day so there was the first presale on clanker officially by the clanker team so not necessarily the first presale for any clanker token but in this way so this is a little different and this came so they announced wednesday that it was coming or tuesday that it was coming at the end of this week and then this was announced earlier the first this is from farhouse the first ever presale on clanker on farcaster is now live details of the house token presales allocation 10% of total supply raise 10 eth minimum to 20 eth max sale duration seven days start clanking for the house presale so farhouse i believe if i understand is a oh here it is house becomes a social connectivity layer farcaster enabling creators to stream natively okay projects to host community calls members to connect through audio spaces so i only thought it was the audio part i didn't realize they
adding native streaming so we'll see how that all comes out because if it's going into a mini app it's not new just letting you know because we're doing that right now as we speak and then there was a little bit more information about the token allocation and claim terms there's gonna be the token claim is seven days after token deployment and then terms for first come first served no bids after 20 eth is raised those points will become important okay so there's a little bit more information about farhouse down here talking about tipping creators unlocking gated livestreams rewarding active participants sounds kinda similar to what dennis doing as well which we haven't really explored that one yet but we will and a few other things in here about the tokenomics presales 10% community and airdrop rewards are 15 team allocation 15% and liquidity pool 60% okay so then it launched so
here's where we have problems the clanker presale sold out in less than thirty seconds there was a lot of folks who thought it was gonna be open the whole seven days i may have been one of them like i i didn't i didn't think about i didn't understand the way in which they were gonna set it up so i think my initial understanding from the communication was that it would be open for seven days not that it would close once it was sold out because i wasn't understanding the mechanics of how they were doing this
here's why my brain was kind of thinking of this like a fae celebration launch and they've only done one like more of that is coming but the way in which fey did a sort of a presale was you could only buy point one it was an allow list so you had to be approved to even be on there that wallet had to be on there so if you thought somebody had two wallets or something you could even they could be qualified and things like that so it's a little different and so that max point 1 eth was helpful in making sure there was variety and that no one could snipe a large amount presale and that was 350 different wallets could
do that so that was a presale but with an allow list kind of like a pre authorized you're great yeah
and a limitation on how much in individual wallet
and this is open market and it was open for a while where you could become an like qualify to be on that allow list so it was very open so i didn't know if they were doing that with the presale but i was thinking in that mode like that's where my brain was for this so i really wasn't thinking about oh my god somebody's gonna just snap up the whole entire thing so let me continue on with dwr's cast here the clanker presale sold out in less than thirty seconds congrats to the farhouse team the primary goal the team gets all the presale eth the token is now liquid but anyone participating in the presale are locked for the next seven days we are planning to do an allow list for the next presale should've done it this time and we have future changes planned to the on chain presale mechanism disappointing that more people couldn't participate but optimistic we will improve for the next one and here is the problem is that only like six wallets were part of this presale and it happened incredibly fast thirty seconds because those six wallets took the whole amount of that max 20 and that was it all said and done and then what happened and this was something that i don't think everyone fully understood either but looking back when i see that farhouse cast it of course that's what happened once the presale was full the token launches immediately so if you were not doing the presale but you wanted to get in early if you were paying attention to this you could have jumped in as well and there was another sniper that i think took about like 16 purse like 16 eth or something like that so we now have like a limited amount of holders who own a large amount of the available supply so that's a problem
okay i pulled a few other things but we don't have too much like we'll just talk it through because a lot of this is in replies and things so a lot of people were upset by this obviously so there were questions you know someone said somebody sniped their supply right after the seven days the project might be heavily affected by the sniping instead of refunding and rerunning the presale why continue to launch it one you can't refund a presale token has to be deployed it's encoded in the smart contract so that's important this isn't a presale where so sometimes the way presales have been done in the past is basically by spreadsheet where you know you're you're physically like sending the tokens after it launches this is built into the smart contract so there's no way to sort of do this anyone buying in the presale has to wait seven days before access to the token team got 100% of the presale eth the purposes of the presale we've already said the next one will have an allow list and will have future iteration plan so i think that was important to note the other thing is the team gets the eth so this is another concern or issue or point that a lot of people were kinda tapping on is that a lot of times with presales it it goes to liquidity it doesn't go to the team so that was not clear before the launch like it was clear once they launched it you could see it in all the communications but i think when people were thinking about a presale when it was first like oh we're doing our first presale this week without you know any details i think a lot of people thought oh that's gonna go towards liquidity and it and it did not so the team could choose to do that they could choose to put some of that towards liquidity but i don't know if that would be a smart move for them at this point probably not
okay so we had a few other comments this from jack and this is a little bit long but i think it's important to get dish's take on this as one of the founders of clanker i'm going to voice how i feel about today's launch of house first off i'm truly honored the farhouse team trusted clanker with their deployment it was hyped lots of eyes on it and for good reason they're proven builders and are bringing back something novel to farcaster people value with the launch it was public so anyone could participate with any amount i believe this configuration can be great for some projects what we didn't forecast was the demand for this presale which outpaced our expectations the fact of the matter is tokens come with trade offs i don't know one token whose fate was decided at launch it's easy to judge from the outside but i know many of you have been in in similar situations stress nervous clanking is an intimate experience that being said i hear your feedback and we're working on optimizations our allow listed version has limits on eth contributions per address so that's the fey model which should mitigate the majority of concerns i'll push this out early next week my goal at clanker has always been to build the best token deployment experiences that surface in surfacing context for safe swaps i'll be actively tuning into house and hope you all do too so you can check out on github what's happening with the allow listed presales if you wanna dive into the technical side of that i'm gonna pull one more thing from derek who always has good takes that kinda sum things up yes the house team collected the eth yes merkel learned lessons they'll hopefully improve but finances are just one facet house now has a sniper hanging over their head plus the opportunity cost of a launch to a community of excited holders house has to inherit mistakes made upstream of them so and proxy said you know what what do you mean sniper hanging over the head and i think the you know what he's saying is that there are these you know limited six large holders including one who's holding who had sniped at 16 eth which is a large amount of the token supply they're gonna sell they're gonna sell don't know day seven
but you don't know what well right possibly sell on day seven rip the band aid that's now i think worse than that is if they don't sell and they both sell for you yes and you've got this kind of like you know it's like just somewhat someone with just kind of too much influence or power over your pricier token
unless they're a benevolent sniper that is a callback to something that happened a long time ago but some of you will get it they could be a benevolent sniper and they'll hold forever so
thoughts i'm gonna let what would how would you like to you probably actually saw a lot more of what would like i was following along but i was following along on some of the main accounts and not seeing as much of the discussion i wasn't diving into a lot of the replies just because i was irl busy so what else did you see what other concerns were there like what what were your thoughts
yeah i mean i think most of like the fallout was just everybody like really disappointed it was like that a mistake was made yeah was a mistake made i don't know if a mistake was made but it was like you should have known you should have done better
choices choice it wasn't necessarily mistake but the joy disappointed in the choices that were made i think is you know what i mean the way in which it
was deployed i think no one liked the outcome like no one wanted it to have one person right like you don't want one wallet holding like picking it up an entire presale so then
i think dan and dish just got a lot of heat because it's like well you should have known better of course there would have been this much demand and of course it'll sell out and throw in of course you should have done this haven't you learned anything and i mostly just don't have a lot of sympathy for it's just like it's just one of those days where everybody has an opinion on how to do it perfectly so like if if if it was so obvious how to do things perfectly and tokens are being launched all the time why wouldn't there be a single one here's the best playbook everybody follow it and someone will tell me there is except then you're not doing a good enough job getting
there well there i think there is but but it's not really available yet like i think the fey model and that's gonna end up being the clanker model as well is the is the better model fey is not doesn't have that publicly available yet like they did it on their own but it's not built into the smart contracts it's not easy
that's what they're doing
will iterate and build i just it got a little nasty the timeline got a little like just kind of nasty and that's where
yeah if you're getting super nasty and personal like that's never helpful if you're critical in a way that is substantive and useful to the team then have at it because then that might be some they might learn something that they didn't know or you might have a better understanding of token launches because maybe you know there's a lot of devs in here who might have good suggestions so i and i did see the fey team and other people like mentioning hey this is you know what we're doing and i do see that that's what they're looking at so you know i think dish's cast was important to look at and see that yes they're doing this but i think the question is why not wait till that was ready and i don't know what that answer is there might be a reason that you know they were ready to launch they didn't wanna wait they didn't anticipate
or they had to learn like they needed this iteration to figure out what they need to build and could you have done a a like a smaller presale like was there a sandbox to do this presale in not really i
think they probably thought this was a small one though
you know what i mean i think i don't think they anticipated the demand and i think they thought of this as moment because you saw like they were expecting 10 eth mhmm they weren't expect you know what i mean like that's the initial like thinking and they were expecting seven days
so i don't think they thought the demand was there for this particular token but
there was also concern i think there was concern for the farhouse team getting kind of caught up in the yeah
you know distracting from their what they're doing

they have eth yeah that they now have a treasury which i assume is to help kind of build out the road map

yeah so i can yeah understand it was probably not the least stressful day they've ever experienced no one wants to be main character actually i take that back some people do i found out some people do
some people love to be main character yeah but it's it comes with it it has goods and bad yeah it's the it's the all publicity is good publicity is not really true but it's a you know it's you can understand like attention is is the goal a lot of times so they definitely capture attention

exactly and even dish honestly like even the person who's built clanker i would not consider him a full on in the trench degen like he uses his product but he's not he's not a trader a day to day trader either so this is that was another comment i saw out there that maybe there wasn't you know enough

yeah yeah and you can get upset and be like oh they don't know what they're doing i'm gonna go somewhere else where people know but i will say i think dan and varun are excellent product people and fast learners and iterate and kind of really dedicated to what like what they're trying to accomplish so it's like i by the way i casted last night i said it was a personal thing but it was a subcast of everything happening which is i wanna have a big heart and thick skin

so yes we are continuing on even we weren't sure when clanker was purchased if we would be able to continue on doing our clankcaster spotlights and have them as a partner and that we just got that news yesterday that yes we will be continuing on with this so clank clank so back on we'll be back on mondays again bringing you different builder interviews for builders who are building on farcaster and clanker so very excited and i do have those repackaged so they're solo just the interview part and we're gonna be creating a playlist for that i just haven't had a chance to do that second part and get them reuploaded but they're edited and ready to go so what we wanna do is really focus on telling the stories of our of the farcaster community the farcaster builders and that was that's gonna be our focus so not necessarily the tokenomics of it all in the in that but we'll be telling the stories of the builders who are building on clanker and farcaster both

and they're all everyone's doing things a little differently so here we go everything's doing a little differently with how they use the token sometimes they're using it in a mini app directly sometimes it's supporting in different ways so i think that's important too is to be able be able to understand that and we're also gonna focus on things like what we did with empire builder the tools that builders might have that help with clanker tokens so things like that we'll be talking about as well

on the base app so yeah that was a fun little bonus and then this was stellar house so stellar house they had a brunch with boys club in the morning and then they had sessions in the afternoon and samuel huber was there so that was cool fun to see him and that's where i ran into lily first loves her mindset and poidh meets world was there so that was cool and chip social was there i gotta start pulling out my my props so chip social was there and they had nails available so that was cool oh this was from the pasta party they had little books like little notebooks with pens so you could take some notes if you wanted one of the things they did at the pasta party that was kinda fun is they had these placemats with questions on them the questions were really hard i thought it was more like reflect on your year but it was it was it was through a gen z lens so i had a little trouble with it kate created this i believe so i need to get the original though because i'd love to share it with people because there were some really interesting fun questions on there but that was a fun little activity but seller house was really good had a had a blast there i heard some cool talks like i really enjoyed the talk with natasha i think she just had some really good insight there and getting to hang with samuel and i forgot his name new person on this team i forget your name i'm sorry but you were really he was a great guy they also had tiny t shirts you would have loved it tank tops
you because i'm like i'm not wearing those it was like a tank top a cropped tank top like something you'll never see me in ever so that was fun
and then the pudgy party last night was really really fun always like this massive scale event with lots of merch lots of games things on display luca was outside you know saying hi to everybody while we're waiting in line to get in did you ask him when he's did you ask
