In case you missed it To reiterate: We’re focused on building a a great wallet that will get more people to use it. Every new, retained wallet user is a new user for the protocol. We tried social-first for 4.5 years. It didn’t work for us. Wallet has been growing so we’re doubling down on that direction. That means new features and product positioning will be wallet-focused. I'm hoping this context helps make it clearer that @zinger's role is trader outreach and growth (not shilling tokens) because that's the *same* role I was temporarily rotated on. Even though I love to pitch in wherever I can, I communicated to Dan and Varun early on that this is an important role given Farcaster's direction and someone else who is actually a trader will be needed to fit the role long term as I'm just not a trader Zinger communicated this following part already publicly so I feel fine sharing it, he was on a work trial to see the fit for the trader outreach role. He clearly crushed it so he joined the team full-time and then announced publicly right after. I totally understand how people had the perception and wanted communication around it but I hope you can have some understanding that it's a weird position to announce you work at a company to all its users when you're in an interview process/work trial and the outcome of it isn't clear yet (I actually had a similar situation when I was doing a work trial at Merkle and had to reach out to users but was uncomfortable saying I was on a work trial since I didn't know the outcome and didn't want to reveal I/Daniel was considering getting acquhired while running Bountycaster) Now that Zinger is in this role, I've been able to move back to supporting the builder side where I have actual expertise on. So I'm incredibly grateful that Zinger is in the trader outreach role full time and is doing a FAR better job in it than I could possibly do. If he's posting about tokens in the feed, it's his passion and hobby not his role, in the same way I post a lot about my experiences and learnings from building in crypto

Strategies for influencing the direction of Farcaster 1. Refer a lot of people who start using / keep using Farcaster 2. Switch to another client like @recaster-fc, @degenapp, @fireflyapp, @cura, @zapper, @herocast, @baseapp.base.eth, etc. 3. Build (or support someone who is building) another client. 4. If these strategies all seem bad, consider another social network.

To clarify: 1. Zinger is working on new trader outreach and growth, i.e. people not already on / active on Farcaster 2. He’s trading and posting in a personal capacity. He’s not paid to post or “shill” 3. He has no input / influence on the trending algo for tokens. 4. We want people on our team to use the wallet and the features we are building 5. You can always choose not to follow / mute 6. While Zinger can handle himself, if you want to be mad at someone, feel free to direct your anger at me. I’m likely fully responsible here for anything that is making you mad.
