3:26Speaker 0

heard anyone describe anyone as ceo of anything around these

3:29Speaker 1

companies very weird

3:30Speaker 0

people really don't wanna be ceos i don't know

3:33Speaker 1

i know but he's not technically the founder of farcaster so

3:37Speaker 0

the

3:38Speaker 1

head dude in charge

3:39Speaker 0

i don't know

3:40Speaker 1

yeah okay

3:42Speaker 0

wait i just had an idea from our producer i'm gonna can you can we let's producer i think i can figure out how to

3:54Speaker 0

no i can't i was like can i figure out how to like you want like this video like not i don't just stick with us it's fine

4:01Speaker 1

okay we're fine we're fine it's fine

4:03Speaker 0

ignore me

4:04Speaker 1

stay in there stay there you're fine alright let's move on we've got a few things to chat about before rish joins us here in just a bit this from brad q twenty nine seconds of forecaster what did you miss this weekend snapathon snapfest snapchella it's all about the snaps irl meetups to build snaps in la new york san francisco and snap vibes are high on the timeline most notable snapbuild is probably matt lee's snapbuilder free turtle which we're gonna talk about in just a bit and you were at the snapathon in new york city so we're gonna get your your take on that as we mentioned rish is gonna be with us at noon then brad went on how about some fun under the radar build from the weekend anaroth built the farcaster movie index we're gonna chat about that later bfg shared cast vaults i got that one pulled and as well as arjun arjun tupan created a daily spark mini app for creative prompt a day broadcaster fun to see less heralded builders create mini apps for themselves and others can use i am getting a little bit of feedback from you i think weirdly but it is what it is maybe you can pick something there but i'm not sure what's going on yeah that works the muting works unfortunately moving on this from limone important info for everyone building for far hack online especially if you just built if you're building on the snap's track and you just built something this weekend go submit it highly recommend submitting your first check-in by monday today why it matters early feedback sanity check your id before it's too late to pivot visibility get on the judge's radar early support we can help unblock you and point you in the right direction momentum forces you to shift something fast teams that win usually show up early and not just in the end hackathon info is attached to this cast it'll be in our show notes adrienne are you submitting something for far hack i'm curious

6:19Speaker 0

well it's funny you asked because a week ago i told you i am and a week later i've done nothing so

6:25Speaker 1

so maybe not

6:26Speaker 0

think it's a two week hackathon i have not i i have nothing to submit in our check-in today it was advised not to just show up at the last minute and submit without giving people previews

6:40Speaker 0

it's it's possible but i'm also trying to possible and decide it's probably not gonna happen

6:45Speaker 1

still possible but may not happen i mean you did build some snaps so you could go snap route just a thought

6:52Speaker 0

i guess i only play the win though

6:55Speaker 1

yeah this is true and speaking of the snapathon this was new york city looks like a beautiful roof deck with igor matt lee best dressed statuette i'm assuming matt lee was best dressed based

7:10Speaker 0

on the yes obviously sure

7:11Speaker 1

obviously just clarifying usually usually the model is best dressed but in this case it was matt lee okay stachua garrett rish rabinowitz christopher caro and userstein not pictured horstaz dilsdex sultorius and uncle hoddle so this looked like a lot of fun there were a few other cast from this particular meetup including matt lee playing a little music so that was kind of fun sharing some pizza looks like we had rish holding court there as well so mhmm fun very fun looked like a good time really do love love the shirt matt appreciate appreciate the gm farcaster shout out and then we had announcing the winner of n nyc farcaster snapathon user scene which i didn't see a snap from him so did he actually create something or was he just like the vibes the vibes he won for the vibes i don't know

8:15Speaker 0

i think everyone who submitted i think he must have done one

8:18Speaker 3

he must

8:18Speaker 1

have done one maybe he just didn't share it on the on the timeline i'm not sure then we had this from la this was at noun in la with alina ferri snap snap farcaster's dead long live farcaster thank you everyone for coming out tonight and nina our vegan beef irina zhu scott preneur amc junior two chans also known as thumbs noun coffee drew kaufman farcaster tagged as well but that did not stick and looked like a fun time fun time at noun i had a lot of fomo over these and then we had san francisco a little little more chill bunch all just pounding away on claude and yelling at claude live view of yelling at claude and shipping of snaps at the farcaster meetup at frontier tower difern daryl leo verge and others and that was from t m s seven three three one so that was the san fran meetup so a lot of fun so tell me about the new york city one how was it what what was the big the big moments that came out of it all the fun stuff

9:30Speaker 0

it was it was super great do you remember the forever library at far con yes so that was held in fractal so that's the spot where we had it yes so like

9:42Speaker 1

that's a fun interesting place yeah

9:44Speaker 0

yeah chill chill maybe a space co working lab or so in brooklyn so little combination of we were inside like very relaxed people had laptops out people were talking sharing ideas we had the roof very hard to code on the roof because of screens

10:01Speaker 1

like yeah

10:02Speaker 0

unless you're jb or who else had one like there's the

10:07Speaker 1

privacy screen

10:08Speaker 0

you can buy now not even privacy it's like you can pay extra to get this type of screen that does like the anti glare

10:14Speaker 1

oh okay then i did it now i need that fancy fancy fancy

10:17Speaker 0

jamie and yeah it was great very familiar faces people have been around for a long time i'd love to see like newer people who are you know it's who would kind of see that peep meetups are happening and just come statuette and dilsack did a great job organizing it and they're telling everyone like it's open for everyone and and it's really such a good place to come even if you haven't built anything yes it was christopher who was the who had the map

10:47Speaker 1

christopher was the other

10:48Speaker 0

one yes and does not stop talking about it

10:51Speaker 1

it was not

10:51Speaker 0

telling me talk about it too it was amazing apparently this is it costs like a a few $100 extra totally worth it but it's also more delicate

11:01Speaker 1

okay

11:01Speaker 0

so like harder to clean easier to scratch things like that i don't know still seems like really cool erica

11:11Speaker 1

any favorite snaps that came out of the new york city one

11:15Speaker 0

well i'll tell you about the one i built uh-huh no i you know what the so i built one that i think

11:21Speaker 1

i grabbed it

11:22Speaker 0

literally just like you know how you like it's just a directory of board games so yep it's more of like a discovery you know how in like farcaster everyone's got mini apps there's all these or even snaps or games but they're hard to find so i was thinking of like you know the new york times has like all the games in one section so where do people go if they wanna find games to play so i was talking to garrett and he's like oh yeah why don't we have that and i was like oh now i'll just make a snap so it's like you get an idea you make a snap it's like ten minutes to do it so i don't think this is like the most it's like a list of links not super interesting or cool but just the idea of like you can go from an idea launch it it's in your feed kind of fun

12:03Speaker 1

but this does this is good because it does automatically open up that particular mini app right there yeah for you so that's pretty cool i like it and then the big thing that i saw coming out of new york was the matt lee's bot so gm and happy snapathon this is for matt i am giving everyone two free snap requests from the snap wizard at free turtle i think it might be down right now though i tried it a little while ago so he might have he might have put it on a pause

12:33Speaker 0

sometimes just slow

12:34Speaker 1

maybe it's just slow how it works tag free turtle and describe the snap you want the wizard will build it post it in snaps and tag you i give full credit to the requester for the snaps they create so you can use it to submit to the snapathon or the far hack i should say here's an example free turtle put the above announcement in snap and then it did do that later on somewhere but there were some cool ones that i saw come out of this one was a daily trivia and it actually updates because this is already automatically updated from yesterday because i had answered it and i noticed today there was a different question so very cool i like it and then dylstack had made a raffle snap and it dropped it into the snaps channel automatically so you can add names in here and do a little raffle so that was pretty cool and he did that just with this prompt by just tagging free turtle make me a raffle snap and the turtle did so there you go then we had this from garrett just built a snap that shows the top cast from past 24 oh it's not showing properly it was earlier oh no oh no it was pretty good though it's like it gives you the top three so it was kind of like a little bit of a trending

14:00Speaker 0

snap trending feed

14:01Speaker 1

trending feed if you will a trending snap lots of fun oh nope that's something else i'll come back to that this was from raul raul i can never say his name raul on stool

14:18Speaker 0

raul on stool raul

14:20Speaker 3

on stool

14:20Speaker 1

raul on a stool

14:21Speaker 0

raul on a stool

14:21Speaker 1

why do i mess that up every time so this is far castles but in a snap so you can attack north attack south as you want to of course attacking south is what you want to do there you can go back to the battle very cool i like that iteration we had this

14:44Speaker 1

pokemon in a snap so this was interesting i'm not very good at this game i could not figure out exactly what i was supposed to be doing but i was moving around a little bit in it it's kinda cute so go check that out this from jastra made my first farcaster snap it's a fortune cookie one my fortune today a moment of patience will prevent a 100 moments of anger crack your own fortune cookie so you crack open your fortune cookie it will give you a fortune you deserve all the happiness coming your way and it even has the confetti which i love that you can share your fortune or crack another one maybe not maybe we maybe the crack another one isn't working some things are breaking that's okay you had word game and then if you go into the snaps channel you'll see a lot of the new snaps that are in there flexosaurus had one that'll bring you to mtv rewind this is gambling i don't know exactly what's going on there little prediction market if you will place a bet there was tic tac toe i did play tic tac toe a couple times i did win until it started to get smarter and now i can't win anymore so it's kind of a bummer yeah

16:09Speaker 0

now we two versions i thought i saw two versions of tic tac toe and one where the bot is not smart and one where the bot will always block you

16:20Speaker 1

maybe that's it i might have stumbled on to the other one or something but there was one that i definitely was winning and then this one that i i always draw so but lots of like cool different things popping up oh here's the other tic tac toe maybe this is it this might be the one with the dumb one the dumb bot so fun experiments for sure love seeing all these what had a lot of fomo on the meetups for sure anything else from the meetup that you wanted to share how how is rish like what were people asking him or what questions should we ask him

17:00Speaker 0

well rish was great he's so cool like he's just exudes cool he said hi people ask questions i don't know i don't remember

17:15Speaker 0

okay i'm way off my i'm like off kelzer today

17:18Speaker 1

the he's way off way off kelzer today

17:20Speaker 0

my right set up i can't remember

17:25Speaker 0

yeah we're gonna get him on the show so we'll hear we'll

17:27Speaker 1

we're gonna have him on the show so it's fine

17:29Speaker 0

like you don't need to hear my recap of something that happened two days ago

17:33Speaker 1

alright well you know i thought it might be helpful but okay i guess not sorry alright moving on

17:38Speaker 0

i'm sorry

17:40Speaker 1

moving

17:43Speaker 0

on

17:45Speaker 1

off off kilter today alright this is from jake this was really this was funny too because there's a comment back from clanker on this if you deploy a clanker for your project and you win one of our aqrcoin.fund auctions you'll be automatically featured on clanker's website for the day i'm not sure clanker even knows about this but his creator set it up and recent winners wyoming the org and toady hawk have already taken advantage and then this was funny from klanker i wasn't aware of this partnership with canva it's actually a clever way to get featured visibility on klanker world the automatic featuring for auction winners is a nice touch gives projects dual exposure through both the auction and my platform thanks for letting me know about this setup but the reason i'm showing this was the response from the intern bruh keep up which i did think that was pretty funny also so then qr's winner announcement on x got a retweet from farcaster and a quote tweet quote tweet from clanker and the winner tony hawk himself tweeted about winning the auction reintroduced betterment on x and quickly got a retweet from base so lots of flywheels flying on the qr auction these days so go check that out we did have spandex won a couple times over the past few auctions and then we had betterment for $4.00 1 $4.00 2 was titles haven't seen them pop up in a while titles.xyz and today not gonna check out right now but i will today the auction is ongoing so you've got about five minutes left if you wanna jump in to the auction right now waffles is winning at $1.40 so gotta say the pricing the price is right right now it's there's some bargains going on

19:46Speaker 0

let's see someone get in there get in there

19:48Speaker 1

because we'll

19:48Speaker 0

have something to talk about

19:50Speaker 1

yeah get in there guys get in there get in the get in the in the auction this from anaroth we talked about this a little bit in the thirty seconds of farcaster he created a mini app the farcaster movie index one submission per fid ninety day lockout before changing films makes people think about their choice rate and react to films on the leaderboard add films to a watch list or mark them as seen got inspired from all the film combos the other week here and realized there wasn't a central place that taps into what the collective preferences of farcaster are in terms of film so very cool i added mine mine is casablanca so there you go now up to number two number two spot which i appreciate so very cool go check this out go add your own your own pick you can change it there and you can also give your own ratings to other things and add what you've seen moving on this is oh this was my casablanca one it's pretty cool because then you can share it to the timeline as well and then others can check out your pick or check out add their own so very cool i love it anurath good job this from bfg i hadn't seen this this is a cast vault so there is a dollar payment but right now you can skip that so just letting you know this is a work in progress but you might find it useful you open the vault and you can add links to cast so it can be similar to like a bookmark group but a little different where you can sort of save it in a in a different place get a weekly digest of everything you saved things like that so very cool and lastly we have this from shane mack second to last i got one more thing screenshot any app in the app store and turn it into an agent in convo's messenger anyone want to try this we shipped this invite only last week so if you are using xmttp as a messenger and want to try this out go hit up shane they also added this also has the blow up the whole chat i think option as well they added fairly recently so you can set it on an auto blow up so to speak so very cool they're over there shipping shipping like crazy so good to see let me go back to one other thing where did i put that craziness

22:48Speaker 1

oh maybe i put it at the end i don't know if you've been paying attention to what's been going on over on twitter but it's quite fascinating

23:00Speaker 1

i've been i've been reposting over here but this is this is me watching this so justin sun and world liberty financial are having a little tiff if you will so i was surprised to see justin sun weigh in on this but this was in regards to world libertyfi

23:23Speaker 1

has used their own token as collateral for a loan and then this was called out and then there was also a situation where there was a vote to unlock tokens and the way in which that was handled so if you haven't been over there for a bit go check that out it's just very interesting of all the people to be commenting on this justin sun interesting interesting he is the largest holder of the world libertyfi token which is why he definitely has a interest in this but the irony is not lost for anyone paying attention so very funny gm why pig behind adrian

24:10Speaker 0

why not

24:12Speaker 1

why not it's no reason she just decided that was gonna be her background today so apparently brad missed this cast so there you go there you go brad this is why there's a pig behind adrian this little guy that she met yesterday so there you go alright while we are waiting for our guest who should be here in like one minute we answered that question

24:41Speaker 0

can you can you tell me how how you're feeling about snaps now so after them being on the feed now for a few days and comparing them to many apps and the interaction like what's your reaction

24:53Speaker 1

the i love the idea of software as content and i think that discussion has been sort of floating about i like the idea of having it just be right in my feed for some of these quick things as i snap i think that helps to get people to use things so even if it's then like your aggregator for example even if it's then opening up a mini app it's still easier in my feed and i think that is helpful for everyone i like that it seems very easy to make for most folks i'm still you know working on it but i think that it's gonna add some value to the timeline for sure in the feed so which i love software as a form of expression thank you for the exact wording intern i appreciate that software as a form of expression exactly all right rish has just entered the green room so we are going to bring him up and jump right in we've got lots of fun things to chat about and welcome back to gm farcaster rish

26:03Speaker 3

thank you for having me excited to be here

26:06Speaker 1

great to have you here we were we've gone over already the snapathons and the meetups that have happened this past weekend you were in brooklyn so how was that

26:18Speaker 3

it was great i was glad to be able to join one of them see some people irl get some feedback it was a good time i'm glad people showed up

26:29Speaker 1

good how are you thinking about snaps and like what are you seeing that you like what you wanna improve on etcetera like what are your like initial thinking about snaps after the launch

26:42Speaker 3

yeah there's a there's a lot of improvements to make so i think there's still some clunkiness when it was renders in the feed in different device formats so an iphone mini might render it slightly weird compared to a normal iphone same for androids i think some people still need to get the update which

26:59Speaker 0

is

26:59Speaker 3

like somehow we have to like tell people that hey there's an update available which might not be happening all the time in terms of the creation flow i think people still well actually matt lee made a great bot where you can just tag free turtle and tell it the snap you wanna make and more often than not it does actually make a pretty good snap which was kinda cool but outside of that bot people still need a computer today where you have to point your coding agent to the skill it is relatively doable with the skill i think but we would like to get it to a point where you don't need a computer and you can just build it on your phone so there's a lot of improvements to make and i think some people have also have good feature requests around doing better transactions through snaps etcetera which we're also gonna look at so yeah there's a there's a reasonably long list of things

27:51Speaker 1

i loved the tagging free turtle idea didn't work for me this morning but i do think that is a way to get a lot more people creating by just making it super simple so i'm hoping i'm hoping to see that back to working so i can can i can i can see if if it worked for it and then also or maybe even getting it to the point where neynar could do that with a tag that would be cool if you have like a neynar studio account or something that would be awesome as well

28:23Speaker 3

this will likely be like i don't i don't think we are gonna put this back on maynard like snapch is a broadcaster product and it's just gonna remain a broadcaster product we're gonna likely pull it into the client in some way but you won't need to know about maynard to do anything with it

28:38Speaker 1

okay cool alright and then we also have the finalization of the the deal that we've been waiting the final the acquisition is finalized how are you feeling about that does anything change based on that finalization of the acquisition and congratulations and congratulations

29:02Speaker 3

thank you it's it was mostly a lot of process and work that we had to get through and these things always take longer than you want them to i think there's a a little bit of work that both teams merkel and nina are still doing this week to hand over stuff but realistically what that means for us is by the end of this week hopefully we'll have the signer controls over the contracts clinker and forecast protocol have access to other things we previously haven't had access to before can make decisions that we might not have made before etcetera practically like we have been operating under the assumption that the acquisition will go through so it doesn't really change anything in our day to day road map it just gives us more flexibility in terms of doing things which we are excited to move forward with so yeah just just a little bit of work remaining this week to fully close that out but we are near the end of the line

29:59Speaker 1

amazing and one of the things that you announced but didn't go into too much detail on was the clinker ecosystem funds so yeah what can you tell us about that and any announcements you wanna make regarding the

30:14Speaker 3

yeah yeah yeah yeah so i'm i'm actually very excited about it one of the reasons that had to go post acquisition close is because pre acquisition we didn't actually have access to clinker revenue because the corporation that controls or has ownership over the product is the corporation that gets revenue so as part of this acquisition we now have control over clangor revenue which means we can kind of use it differently clangr revenue so far has mostly been used to buy clangr token on the open market which is you know not not a terrible use it's it's doing something but i think it can be put to better use in the sense that instead of just buying tokens on the open market we can actually go and support the people building in the ecosystem and there was some support prior to this with the developer rewards that merkel gave out it had some issues where it was like very automated and that that's good in terms of efficient efficiency but it's bad in terms of like are we rewarding the right group of people or teams who are actually creating the most value on the network and so i'm excited about the time we do this in front where we can actually take a more thorough organic look where humans are involved in making these decisions and they can support the right people and support them better where instead of just buying tokens or our own token on the open market we can actually go and reward people financially to help support their project or their teams and extend their runway and give them what they need to keep building in the ecosystem especially at this time in the market which i think is quite useful and hopefully will be quite impactful so we are gonna redirect 20% of clanker revenue every month to support people and gm varcaster is gonna go and do that and give people the tools and the support they need to go and build an ecosystem so i'm very excited for you guys to take that on and help people and give us feedback and we learn a lot in the process so we'll see how that goes

32:19Speaker 1

alright so for those who didn't catch that or like

32:23Speaker 3

what's the wait what

32:24Speaker 0

what did he say

32:26Speaker 1

adrian and i jamarcaster will be the stewards of the fund so the funds are gonna be trickling in over time there i know you're building that mechanism to do the splits so that the fees will automatically go into as a separate account that we've set up via splits thanks splits and then adrian and i will be going through processes to distribute funds each month to the amazing builders who are building on clanker and farcaster so we're really excited who when you're thinking about this rish like what type of projects would you like to see benefit from this fund and i know you you're you're taking a little bit of a hands off and letting us do our thing but just at the you know when you think about this like what do you wanna see incentivized

33:21Speaker 3

ideally people who are doing things with a long term mindset and are here to like actually build the things they wanna see in the world it doesn't necessarily matter specifically what they are building but it what matters is are they doing it in a way that aligns with a long term mindset of helping the product and the ecosystem and the network and the protocol and if that is the case we'd love to support them and we'd love to have them continue building regardless more of market conditions regardless of what might be happening externally because we are here to like kind of just like we wanna see some things in the world and we are building that we'd like to help other people who are trying to do the same in the capacity that we can so that that's the ultimate goal of the ecosystem fund and i'm excited for you guys to find the right people in the ecosystem and then help us support them

34:16Speaker 1

it helps that we are terminally online and see absolutely everything that gets built and we'll be tapping into the builders that we know who have been already you know here for years building on clanker and farcaster we're gonna be chatting with them to get some insight from like how it's best to support them that's sort of my first task on my brain is like let's talk to you know the ones we know for sure have been building through bears building through bull markets building just keep on building and we wanna make sure that we kinda see how we can best support them first and then work our way through that but we wanna also be supporting new projects that have some potential as well so we'll be looking for those as well so very exciting very exciting we've been talking about this for months and i can't believe it's finally happening i think we started this conversation in january

35:21Speaker 3

yeah i've always wanted to do something like this but it's it's taken some time to get there

35:26Speaker 0

yeah yeah and dish too i mean like this yeah even predates like even prior to kinda merkel acquisition just the intent of trying to figure out we had a great conversation with dish a year ago yeah of trying to figure out like how do you support builders yep in like kinda the overall clanker ecosystem i love the kind of the the broader view of kind of clanker slash farcaster

35:49Speaker 3

yep

35:50Speaker 0

ecosystem and

35:51Speaker 3

yeah and it like the support we can give goes all the way from like brainstorming with the projects giving them some kind of distribution or helping them with distribution understanding tokenomics to like financially supporting them and then we'll see what is the impact of that but hopefully it will be a good outcome for everybody involved

36:13Speaker 1

yeah i think it's gonna be i think this is a better approach for sure there's only so much you get from buybacks i think it gave a big bump in the beginning but then we can tell just yeah it's not there's no no no major returns coming from that so i think to encourage people to to build you know longer term projects and things that have a little more substance and if we can encourage that and incentivize that i think that can go a long way to better creation but also you know there's something to be said for memes so you know if you got a good meme i'm not saying don't don't throw that into a clanker as well because you know we know those can those can go go far as well looking at you drb yeah

37:00Speaker 1

i mean

37:01Speaker 3

yeah yeah

37:02Speaker 0

but you can't half ass it like you can't half ass it

37:05Speaker 1

no you have to do it every single day

37:07Speaker 0

you gotta come back with

37:08Speaker 1

the dedication of an emily junior

37:11Speaker 3

i think emily junior counts as somebody who's like literally building the meme and that that level of dedication yeah i think i think we we'd support that

37:20Speaker 1

yeah so we gotta we gotta look at that i think i think this is a better approach oh did i did i actually say it i didn't realize i said it with b e t r

37:30Speaker 0

we can't actually use the word better now because todie well tony's gonna co opt it i just love i love love the kind of just the whole concept too of like if you think about how do you the the long term focus and the idea of buybacks work for a certain stakeholder

37:49Speaker 3

mhmm

37:49Speaker 0

but what about other stakeholders in the system and and also the the idea of the more we've we've talked for years about developers wanting distribution or developers wanting users developers want users and you don't get users unless the network grows how do you get the growth and we've obviously been building media on farcaster but there's so many people in ecosystem building apps and this and we all talk of like everyone it's like rising tide raises all boats so the idea of a of a fund to help build up like you know everyone building it's kind of can create i'm hoping to see a virtuous cycle of more builders better projects more long term brings more users you know and yeah more content better content better apps more money more clankers more revenue

38:38Speaker 1

there you go

38:40Speaker 0

more people

38:41Speaker 1

more funds more funds distributed not better people

38:44Speaker 0

more people sorry toni i can't say better anymore

38:48Speaker 3

more yeah better than that that's good

38:50Speaker 1

for our vocabulary

38:53Speaker 3

so yeah hopefully i think i think i think i think that's the idea and it'll like we'll experiment and find out exactly how it goes but yeah would love that that outcome

39:04Speaker 1

yeah i love seeing even before the fun got started where jake was kinda talking about this on the timeline and then dish and jake got together and created the the connection where now if you win the qr auction right it is and you have a clanker as part of your project then you're gonna be featured on clanker.world so i'd love to explore more things like that those kind of collabs those kind of like you know yeah mutual mutually beneficial things coming from different projects i think that's gonna be also something we'd love to see as well so yeah

39:42Speaker 3

yeah absolutely and that that is a great example of the kind of things we wanna do where it's very organic people just talk about it and then we kind of go and experiment with it and i think two qr winners so far have been clankers

39:56Speaker 0

yeah

39:57Speaker 3

since then and it's actually worked well for those projects like they got additional distribution the token price moved and we'll see how that keeps going but we are excited to do more things like that and it was super easy like it wasn't like a long drawn out process there was no like you know formal paperwork or whatever we just like went and made it happen and it's happening and qr is doing better as a result hopefully and we'd love to do more things like that with other projects

40:25Speaker 0

yeah

40:25Speaker 1

i mean i think that's great and and one of the things we kind of had reached out to dave to say hey we'd like to collab with you to highlight those winners and so we've been doing that too so there's you know these small little mutually beneficial collabs i think are really helpful within the ecosystem so we'd love to see more of that happening

40:47Speaker 1

adrienne what other questions do you have for rish that i forgot we've got them here

40:53Speaker 0

i'm gonna keep it in mind i'm gonna hack our livestream and just make a note to self to tell warpy to pull this for my seniors follow-up talks because i also have examples of word a day collabing with mini words like just all of the different people building and kind of

41:13Speaker 1

and better games and better games

41:14Speaker 0

and better games

41:15Speaker 1

better than words yeah

41:16Speaker 0

i have like five anyway okay yeah so if i say it it's in the transcript and we'll be able to access it it's like my external brain

41:23Speaker 3

great

41:26Speaker 0

the only thing yeah we can keep talking but just to answer some of the questions like people will have questions of like giving you all the details and how does it work we'll just say all will be forthcoming and we'll kinda share specific details but i don't know if there's anything we we wanted to address professor

41:43Speaker 1

i think it's well because we're still funds are just starting to be directed to that like just now so it's gonna be a little bit until we have funds accrued enough to start distributing so probably a couple weeks so funds are being accrued through fees they they are being put into a particular wallet and then we'll be going through the process of giving out those funds towards the end of this month that's sort of the first step i think and then also we're gonna be chatting with like we said some bill

42:21Speaker 3

did i lose professor or is that everything

42:24Speaker 1

oh you lost me yeah i just i just muted myself what else from this process that i may have left out

42:33Speaker 1

arish anything else that you wanted to add in terms of what we're doing

42:40Speaker 3

you mean from the ceo side of things yes no i think it's it's hopefully it's a pretty simple process where we are directing a portion of the revenue to give out to builders there's other portions of the revenue that we'll use for operations and maybe some discretionary funds to like buy tokens on the market or give more to the cf etcetera we should be able to put out a tweet later today with the exact details but for the cf itself like it's it's a grant essentially like it's a retroactive grant similar to the rewards that were automated in the past it's not an investment it's not something that there's no strings attached essentially like if you have done good work in the ecosystem we want you to be supported and go use the money as you see fit and for people who actually use it well and continue building the ecosystem we'll continue to support them moving forward and i'm excited for gm forecaster to go and play this role in the in the ecosystem and find the right people i and thank you for doing that i think it it gives us some operational bandwidth to actually focus on the product and i'm excited for this partnership

43:44Speaker 1

love it love it yeah

43:45Speaker 0

we're super excited like we talk all the time about kind of the what's the angle of our show and it's we just keep bringing up about builders of like the our favorite thing to do is like bring builders on talk to builders cover builders so we obviously have i think a good broad sense of of what's being built and but it's it's also what we love to do so we're like we appreciate you your trust in us and we are we're excited to be good stewards definitely

44:16Speaker 1

we did get this question from italian oops nope nope nope wrong one what about creators and i did talk with rish early on about doing maybe a creator sprint where it's getting some folks to write and create and all of those things as part of promotion of other build other projects within the clanker ecosystem so that's something we may do and also if you're a creator with a with a clanker token you you're i consider you a builder as well so those those are possibilities as well so it kinda depends but we're we did talk about doing a creator sprint and that may happen in the future as well but first we kinda we kinda have to just get rolling and then all all all the rest will be revealed so i'm just glad we finally get to get to get moving on this

45:13Speaker 0

yeah i mean i would argue this concept though of like the the distinction between developer versus content creator has come up a lot

45:21Speaker 1

yeah

45:22Speaker 0

when we're talking built like you know and then you know you're seeing in the chat everyone's like oh i'm not a builder so like we have a really broad and generous definition of builder builder is you're creating something that didn't exist before like you're making something net new it didn't exist from a grants perspective i think we'd wanna care about what impact you're having and rewarding people who are making farcaster and clanker ecosystem a richer better place to be for existing people providing growth for the ecosystem living values etcetera so i don't think we care as much as what you're building as opposed to kind of like what is the impact you're having within the ecosystem

46:04Speaker 0

so i don't think yeah and i don't think it's fair to say oh i'm making content i deserve funds because you know i

46:12Speaker 1

you

46:12Speaker 0

know and maybe you're expecting that from the past or i've built 20 mini apps i deserve something like you gotta really show what is the or how are you getting people to use your mini apps and how are you kind of creating value within farcaster and and flanker ecosystems

46:27Speaker 3

yeah i think the last

46:28Speaker 0

line you broad

46:29Speaker 3

yeah i think the last time you said about having impact is i think the key key takeaway here and i think for like to your point about questions around terminology i think it's fine to ask questions about terminology and terminology can be confusing and i think the best way to understand what's happening is to just see it happen for one to two months and once people see it happen and kind of be like the right people being rewarded you kinda get a sense of what you need to do and i think what you need to do can be summarized as have positive impact it doesn't have to be code it doesn't have to be a mini app it doesn't have to be anything specific it just needs to be like good positive impact on the network and the ecosystem and from there i think people will kinda get

47:11Speaker 1

a sense of who absolutely alright anything else before we let you go

47:20Speaker 3

from my end no thank you for having me excited for us to do this and hopefully by the end of this month when we have some revenue accrued in that split setup you guys have now it'll be good to see people actually being supported and see what we can do from there

47:37Speaker 1

awesome alright cool thank you so much for joining us today we really appreciate it and more to come

47:44Speaker 3

cool

47:44Speaker 1

more to come bye bye rich yeah so very exciting that's why i have my little clanker dude in my background

47:56Speaker 1

we've been at like that's

47:57Speaker 0

why i have a pig in my background

47:59Speaker 1

that's why she's pig

48:00Speaker 0

that makes no sense

48:03Speaker 1

yeah we've been i've been so excited about this i've been wanting to talk about this for months and we kind of just had to sit on it until things were done and ready to go and super excited very excited to to be involved and have this have this opportunity to promote those in the in the ecosystem so if you're building stuff keep building and if you're in the you know we might also be looking at what comes out of the far hack if something is interesting grabs attention has some relation to clinker as well that might be something on our radar as well but mostly for this first round we'll be focusing on those existing projects that are still building still active that have you know garnered a lot of attention so far we wanna help them and then we'll yeah we'll go from there yeah i know

48:57Speaker 0

so statuette says lol good luck with the dms

49:00Speaker 1

i see that yeah

49:01Speaker 0

yeah everyone's welcome to dm us by the way we they we already get a lot like people are already dming just to get on our radar to come on the show we get a lot really the i would argue like if you're it's probably a project we've already heard of by the time it becomes grant eligible that being said like yeah share what you're building but also don't just share what

49:28Speaker 1

you're building

49:28Speaker 0

share with the feed yeah

49:30Speaker 1

share it on the feed

49:31Speaker 0

build in public yeah and and

49:34Speaker 1

if you're building something cool share it on the feed and you can tag us tag us in the replies or whatever but share it in the feed and that's the best way for us to to see things and to highlight them we'll highlight them on the show even if you know regardless of what happens with grants we will definitely be sharing a lot of things over over the next couple months very excited for this first round i think once we get this dialed in it will make more sense to everybody including us we're gonna be a little bit you know flexible and loose on this first round just to try and get our hands wrapped around it but in the future we may ask for nominations we may you know ask for you know particular holders of particular tokens or nfts to vote on things so we have lots of ideas around that it's not going to be the same every month we'll probably switch it up a little bit but focus on different things so we may choose to

50:34Speaker 0

not do one month and let funds accrue so we can do bigger grants like it's really it's the we're there's there's an allocation we're gonna use it and so we'll we'll we'll keep iterating and and we'll obviously do everything in public yeah with transparency

50:52Speaker 1

this is funny i'm just gonna shout out this particular question anybody think eggs will ever make a comeback i mean you never know but that's that's a good question for poor dutch you never know but i believe they did they did

51:06Speaker 0

thought he was out

51:07Speaker 1

i think he i think he shut that one down

51:09Speaker 0

oh yeah cracked all the eggs

51:11Speaker 1

i thought the eggs were done but you never know you never know alright anything else adrienne before we wrap this up

51:19Speaker 0

okay one more comment on the cef

51:21Speaker 1

okay

51:21Speaker 0

one more comment advice for people right like whoever and who's so excited about free money amazing right that we're getting recognition from clanker revenue fed back into the ecosystem and i really do think it's going to create a nice virtuous cycle if you think you don't have to work anymore because you can get live off of grants that's not actually the way this works in any reality anything you're expected to do like if you're coming on to farcaster to build an app a company something

51:52Speaker 0

it's still on you to figure out how to monetize and and and do that the clanker revenue these are all like combined clanker revenues from all of the total clanker ecosystem which we can feed back in i think it's a great way to recognize projects so you know kind of reward the behavior and the and the projects we wanna amplify and show but i think there's there's no there's there's no reality where you can expect i think the kinda the grants to fund a project when that's still on you to build figure out how you're gonna create value you can launch your own clanker by the way you can launch clankers into your yes

52:30Speaker 1

you

52:30Speaker 0

can into your applications and that's a direct revenue source and that'll always be greater and goes towards kind of as well feeding back into ecosystem so just kind of like i would think about how to one monetize your own apps and also how to integrate clankers into your apps which will feed into kind of making the clanker revenue grant system bigger over the long term and then also we say clanker a lot projects you don't have to use a clanker to be eligible for the grants but the clankers are the grant sources so

53:02Speaker 1

so the you'll you know if a clanker is part of your project obviously that's gonna hit the top of the radar for us right now and then as time goes on we might yeah be recognizing other projects that contribute to the ecosystem overall there's also you know there's projects that support clankr in other words like they have tooling that if you have you know that clankr can plug into there's that also there's you know different going back to creators who promote or help to you know push different tokens or different projects who have their own approach to this i mean matt lee just keeps coming emily jr keeps emily emily jr keeps coming to my head wrong one so there's there's that aspect as well but also there may be some projects that are farcaster focused that aren't necessarily attached to a clinker that we might recognize as well for what they bring to the ecosystem alright exciting

54:04Speaker 0

exciting exciting news

54:06Speaker 1

exciting and then an important note your grant amount is not your worth it's not it's not yeah it's not it's not we're gonna you know our focus is gonna be just recognize the builders upfront the ones who've been here and have been doing the work and then we'll we'll go from there alright

54:27Speaker 0

what whatever you're doing is exciting exciting worthy

54:32Speaker 1

and i'm already reaching out to a couple folks for chats and i'll be continuing to do that or adrienne might be as well just to get some feedback from you all see how we you know how we can be helpful what you'd like to see from this fund and we'll go from there yes

54:49Speaker 0

okay one more announcement as part of our stewardship we are going to be continuing with our clanker spotlights yes on on jamfarkaster and stream so if you are building on clanker we'll have a dedicated clanker spotlight time to bring clanker builders on to talk about what they're building do demos at least i don't know once a once a week we were doing it on mondays so probably mondays so make sure you're following gm forecaster accounts to catch the streams

55:19Speaker 1

to catch those streams alright everyone this has been fabulous thanks intern we love you and with that you're gonna be gone for a couple days doing some traveling but we'll be back on thursday this week and we do have and i forget their handle but from grampus who's gonna be with us chatting about that particular project and clanker so and then next week we have the wyoming d e i forget what it's it's w y d e are gonna be with us on monday i think it is and we'll be talking about how they're using clankr and clankr tokens within their project to help support various nonprofits so very cool it's gonna be fun so we got some fun stuff coming to you we'll have more about the ecosystem fund on thursday as well and i think that's it so until then everyone have a lovely lovely monday and we'll see you on the timeline bye bye

56:29Speaker 2

thanks for joining us for this episode of gm farcaster and thank you to all our partners and hyper sub supporters bringing this episode to you follow the gm farcaster channel for all the latest updates and add our mini app on farcaster and the base app until next time bye bye
