this network of automated accounts is malicious and trying every tactic possible to get you to click so i've seen a few things like this there's also some mini apps be really careful right now around this hypersnap like airdrop there's been quite a few things that have dropped that are fake and malicious so be careful out there and report and block as much as you can to make sure that you do not get scammed

i actually so i've not built any sort of mobile apps but i assume expo is like the framework they're building it on or something it's like the some some library or something that holds like a it's some dependency or library
and i was once again just just hoping that that adrienne would know this
i actually don't know yeah i don't know i actually have never heard the term expo before he wrote this but i have tons of familiarity with upgrades and dependency upgrades and they effing suck okay and yeah
okay and continuing on the upgrade had many breaking changes one of those changes has introduced a memory leak that happens as you keep using the app longer this results in various performance issues where the app scrolling might lag replies might have screen flashing up and down etcetera our ios update was blocked on apple reviews for more than a week so we couldn't land a lot of the native build changes that would solve the root cause it should finally start going out shortly it's unlikely it will fix everything but should get to a spot where we can then solve over the next week appreciate all the reports and bearing through the temporary bugginess major version upgrades are never fun and it's no surprise why companies wait as long

can before making such changes yes very painful to upgrade yes no no's

yeah you know what i'll i'll jump in so the the basic idea of any app is that we're in this kind of new era where we're all super familiar with kinda jesse saying like builders builders builders today is the day of the builders and even even advertising over the last kind of fifteen years we've seen apple be like this is the age of apps everyone should be making apps if you make apps you're gonna get rich and your your life is gonna be better and if you create like basically creating apps and building
things wait we're supposed to be rich now
that's right that's right well
fulfilled let's say fulfilled we'll say fulfilled
we are rich with friendships
that's right that's right that's right and so the narrative has been super strong it's kind of been like a a religious kind of cult for a while but the the the problem is is that most people i myself included were i was never really a coder i was never a builder myself and so the narrative i heard it the narrative made me anxious because i was like you know what i agree that we should kind of be building things but when i sit down in front of an ide or a terminal or some sort of like command line prompt it's kind of like am i neo from the matrix or like
like what do i put
on my resume now like how does this play out and so historically honestly for the last kind of fifteen years as this narrative has has been strong some people have kind of crossed the the void a little bit and said okay i'm gonna start kind of diving in and i'm gonna kind of get get my feet wet and that's really what i did like i just spent like ages of of just coding sitting in stack overflow irc all these platforms and it was painful to be honest right it's like i i have there's some someone else on the internet where i where i was kinda stupid chris a while ago would go in and be like hey guys like how do i get this webpage to land not asking the right question not using the right terminology not doing anything correct and they reminded me of it they were kind of like yeah that's just the dumbest question ever you should really never show up again
and there's no dumb questions except the one you don't ask that's right that's right that's right that's the teacher in me
that's right you learn that you learn that but it's you still get the commentary the commentary is still very real and so i mean after kind of having kind of gone through this peer pain period for a long period of time and with this new kind of wave of ai obviously we're all kind of familiar with kind of the love bowls the bolts the replicates we are just now at a point in time where we can kind of arm the the 99.5% of people that are not builders and basically just lift that weight off their back and say look the the tools that you have access to which is just english or frankly any language because it's ai so you can be from greece or turkey or iran or or india or or brazil anywhere in the world you can type in your native language so spanish portuguese blah blah blah and with a simple sentence you can turn your whole kind of world inside out and kinda upside down and get a fully shareable app in less than kind of ten minutes and less than the cost of a latte and oftentimes free and so really that's kind of you can think of vini app as kind of the lovable or bolt or replit but built specifically for the web three stack right and so a lot of us are like oh i could use cloud code or i could use lovable or these platforms but what doesn't exist in those is that they don't have the kind of the cache or they don't have the yeah next kind of or or you're pulling it up here but we don't have the cache or the kind of the context available for all these web three rails like there's all these web three apis there's all these these wallet configurations all these token configurations and really that kind of just does not exist on lovable and replit so you'd have to kind of go acquire all those things and then kind of try to spring it all together and so we've been working on this kind of since november to kind of build out this fully functional app so really it's kind of text to tokenize mini app in seconds
and how does this differ from like nanar's mini app builder and like how what what exactly does it like bring to the table that makes it so simple to use
yeah totally i'll just jump in here one more time so the neynar is a is a fantastic platform like we we love forecast we love rish we love all those guys a few things that we do is that when you create a vini app it actually creates a wallet for your application

so the the foundational element is that you get a wallet with your application and that's again something that repl dot it doesn't do lovable doesn't do bolt doesn't do and manar studio doesn't do from what i understand we also give the option to launch a clanker token so you launch a clanker token alongside your app development
we love that
the nice thing about that we we yeah we love it too we think that like those clanker rails are really fundamental to the whole web three stack if if you don't have these kind of web three primitives worked into the application you might as well just be kind of in web two land and so we wanna make sure that we have kinda have this full stack of available and so yeah it starts out with kind of the the wallet and the clinker we also use the latest ai for image generation so you get a full kind of iconography set and brand kit and then also with these applications we we just launched partnerships we'll kinda talk about it more but you can extend your vini app in addition to farcaster mini apps and the web we also have partnerships and kind of integrations with the world application now as well as still still of mini celo minibay which are kind of like in the tens of millions of people for daus and so those would be there's lots that we kind of do but those would kind of be the the few things nick i don't

you can create something in vini app and it would be you could deploy it to world to the world mini apps as well that's amazing
so so how they do it right now is that they have a bit of like an app store graduation process but we will help the kind of full graduation process nick actually was working on he'll he'll show it at some point too but there's this wonderful app called farcnoid and farcnoid is now totally available on world so we'd love to kinda get back to that too

we applied we applied for approval on world and on cello so like the the application is is is done so as soon as it's approved it will be available and it's a beautiful thing about it it has like a a high score list and basically you compete against all these people it just shows like the the the the user is using the app on on minipay or on world but it the the high score is all united for everybody and of course like all the apps they work on the web two interface also so at the moment you you have to log in with the with the wallet but we are also working on adopting it so you could use the coinbase wallet provider and log in with the with the email address so then it will be totally open not only for web three people but also for web two yep and i i did also like i think two or three more apps that i'm applying for the world and for minipay also and once i figure out the the whole manual process then we will create like a easy to understand instructions for for builders how to add it and automate the process as much as we can

yeah basically we try to come up with some challenging ideas and feed it into vini app and on the way we develop the the skills and develop the vini app itself if if it stops somewhere so that helps us to to make the whole overall system better

you know i i just think i it's it's amazing to me just to be able to watch some of these apps and kind of we're obviously on the kind of the platform side and kind of are there to support the builders but it's amazing to see over kind of 800 apps being made over 10,000 view like everyone jokes about 37 users on farcaster but we've had over 10,000 unique users

that's right it's it's crazy right and and yeah we we've seen like there's over 10,000 unique users hundreds of thousands of views now on these applications and what's really cool about the vini is that when people launch tokens the purpose of a token in the application is to kind of do what davinci does or ahn nikolai met up with ahn in khan and they created this t rex jumper application and so

yeah one one of the cool things about that is that the the platform itself has this utility to say like if you die in the application then you come back alive using this this dino token right and so the thing is
that's how you're gonna say you die in real life

but yeah people are playing it and they he he really had some nice game mechanics where it's kind of like as you play if you again if you die you can spend the dino token which is a clanker to kind of come back alive and so he was running this kind of initiative where every single day people would wake up and they say if you're at the top of leaderboard or top 10 on the leaderboard we would like airdrop people deno tokens so people were really kinda grinding it out to kind of play it more and more and kinda climb the leaderboard and what's interesting is that alongside that deno token and all that utility happening in the application the clancor tokens start to trade a lot and more and more people are like oh this is interesting and so he was able to generate fees that funded the whole development of the application and so one of the things that we experienced and even when you're using cloud code and cursor which vini is actually built on top of so a lot of people are like oh like i'll i'll start live coding myself i'm gonna use cloud code i'm gonna use codecs it's like all the power to you go ahead but just know that vini is actually built on these kind of platforms as well like we we take that same primitive and then we kinda layer up and so the nice thing is that those platforms are expensive they can be $200 a month plus and especially if you start using api calls outside of the kind of the max plans which are usually like kinda $200 plus cost can go into like thousands really quickly and so with vinnie he was able to kind of not have to pay the $200 a month and still get all of the clinker trading fees which then was able to kinda fully fund his whole application and he was also able with vinnie you can kinda withdraw some of the funds too so if you wanna take out those funds it's it's your wallet you can kinda do whatever you want

i would totally kind of avoid this but it's just that if we wanna make it a little spicy and kinda have the multiplayer the real time stuff

to add this thing one thing that we do on our side actually is that normally we kind of abstract out all of these things into little skills so we actually are built on a bunch of skills that we've kind of developed over the over the the period that we've been building this to continuously kind of say like okay if this is being added to these applications maybe we can kinda skillify this and then for the next applications it'll just kinda know how to do that and so it also uses kind of ai and natural language to be like oh if somebody's looking for real time then they want this kinda listen and notify so in our chess game this is something that i kinda had to go through where originally i was like okay making make a real time game and the first pass that vinyap did was a polling so basically what it would do is every five seconds it would just kinda go to the server and say like hey did somebody make a move or not but if you can think of like a chess game sometimes it's like a three minute game or a five minute game and people start to want to move really quickly and so if you're doing this polling every ten seconds people are like oh wait i made a move i'm not seeing the move on the screen so this is kinda why we learned about this so just for kinda time's sake i'll kinda hit the create app button and we're just gonna gonna basically kinda watch it go so you're gonna see the lfg it's very hyped up and you basically kinda get into the dashboard of this kind of vini app build where we it's gonna start to kind of it's now creating the application it's creating the repository it's creating the hosting and it's gonna come back for with some kind of questions really quickly so it says perfect i can see maybe i'll zoom in here actually maybe it's easier to read yeah perfect i can see the gm forecaster blog clearly that vibrant purple blue palette with warren jacksons and playful character energy is a great starting point i agree before we build i i've got some clarifying questions to make sure we nail this what kind of pac man experience classic arcade game quick mobile style thirty to two minutes or something that blends both so what do you guys think for that

okay so i think we're good to go and it's gonna start and so really it's just gonna start to kinda move like crazy right now it's gonna start to spin up the github repo it's gonna create a database it's gonna create the the brand kit in a moment it will ask us about the the token creation so just wanna make sure that we have the kinda the token name correctly the token description it's also gonna use that kind of brand kit in the image generation to kind of create the clinker configuration everything like that cool and while this is kind of running you can actually kind of go through the you'll you'll see kinda says it's like reviewing and it kinda takes a second but you'll see here we can kinda go through everything that's gonna happen so or the dashboard that's available in the vini app and so vini has these kind of very nice tabs to kind of you're you're kind of the manager of the application now so you're kind of like this benevolent dictator to say like hey i'm gonna control how things are set up and how things work

totally right totally totally and so what's cool about vini
is that as it's building you can kinda look into things like analytics so we actually bring your own analytics and you'll kinda see that on the the activity tab as that shows up so it's going to show your your opens the unique users forecaster and base as well as other platforms split out by seven days fourteen days thirty days and ninety days so if you're talking to investors for some reason or if you're talking to or if you're kind of that benevolent dictator and you're like okay i really wanna push the analytics of my platform better you at least have some data to kinda come back on it's gonna say kinda how is this working and so we bring our own analytics and that's usually what we use the most but if you're keen you can use google analytics analytics as well which kind of can give some geographic stuff and you kinda get that whole g google analytics analytics suite with it down here this is where we get into the the the beauty of kind of the different platforms so by default farcaster and base are set up we now have this kind of world configuration we actually haven't added it yet but we fully support minipay and celo which has 15,000,000 active wallets on it so that's coming up here soon and then we have telegram support as well down here you have the whole mini app
telegram has been like that's a so i hate telegram but i've heard because i have ptsd but i've heard that many apps on telegram are massive like there's incredible amount of usage so that's really cool to have that built in as well

yeah it's all so so generally in terms of like how this business model works is exactly as you're saying adrienne it's you have the kind of the hosting and the database fees as well as the storage fees you have like images the data in the database that's processed for the application and then hosting for someone like vercel right now just like you guys clicked on clancor fees we clicked on some of the clancor fees as well and and then we also have been working directly with our our partners at the database providers and things like that we get some some grants for the early builds

then and then over time basically we continue to kinda hope to grow the ecosystem and what we'll probably do is some sort of like may maybe some sort of like small monthly fee after it's going for a while but so far what we're really keen on is kind of just making sure that people are getting their apps going and building and the the the benefit of the kind of the token trading fee so far has been able to kind of supplement some of the development fees

warby knows if this is still been in can you talk a little bit about kind of why you chose clanker and how that's been and kind of i i know you talked about kind of like that i know there's a million things if you're launching a clanker on clanker world you can customize but you kinda do the default options for people i think they make that pretty easy
yeah one you know what one thing that i think the narrative of clanker it's it's a lot to a lot of things adrienne and i were talking about it just the
other day is that one
of the things with blockchain is that blockchain is such a flexible primitive that it can be used for anything and so we've kind of gone through a couple waves in the web three space one of the most notable ones was nfts and what nfts are is it's kinda like putting a box on the the smart contracts to say like okay if you're getting an nft you're getting a an audited smart contract that you know that is useful specifically for collecting unique images or getting a collection of a certain number of images and it has all these kind of like traits and things like that and by doing that the human mind basically can abstract all the complexity of all of the things that a smart contract can do and say okay i now know that an nft does this it's the same thing that mcdonald's does with a burger where you can go to a grocery store and get all of the things from the grocery store but mcdonald's has kind of crafted this burger to be a very kind of well known and labeled thing so you know when you go to mcdonald's you always get this type of food and so from our perspective and i think most people's perspective is that clanker did the exact same thing for launching tokens they took the the complexity of the the kind of token launches and the kind of the security holes and everything like that and they said okay we're gonna put a really nice api wrapper on it and we're gonna put it directly into the forecaster feed so that anyone can launch a token and that's a really special thing because it what it does it kind of reduces the risk of launching a token and it says okay these are the this is kind of the new sandbox that you can play on you have this huge sandbox but we're gonna carve out our little corner over here and we're gonna say this is the clanker sandbox and it's kind of you know what you're gonna get every time you come to a clanker and so with vini it gave us a lot of confidence to say hey look if we're gonna use doing anything in the token world which frankly nobody is familiar with the token world and any type of innovation everyone has to kind of get accustomed and educated in somehow so if you're gonna do that you need some sort of kind of guardrails to say look there's a lot of things that we're not doing that we could do but for the time being we need some sort of primitive that everyone can kinda be comfortable with so that we can use that as kind of foundational element building block and so we chose clanker for that exact reason where it had a really nice api it was very social and it's very much embedded in the kind of forecast ecosystem and in the feed and it was something that if we launched with a clancor nobody's looking at it being like oh like i don't know what a clancor is or they don't have all these kinda these concerns they just go oh it's clancor got you let's go with that and so that's been extremely useful for us as a core primitive of the the vini app building

just go back to that application go to that funding and you'll see here there's that $5 here and then actually if we go to the build tab you'll see $5 up here at the top and you can kind of like update it at any point in time other the the last thing i kinda wanna talk about before maybe the application kinda keeps building is that we have also have notifications built in and so the notifications are super useful because historically i've launched apps on the ios app store before and it's problematic because the you have to kinda go through this most of the time people create native applications primarily because of notifications like it's it's really the kind of the key differentiator of a web application versus notifications or versus the the kinda ios apps was that you were getting these kind of push notification and all this ability but because farcaster is on the ios store you can then get notifications directly from farcaster for all of your vin app applications and so you really get so much along this kind of flow of just using vini app to build an application

so the vini app itself will try to figure out what are the best moments to send notification and will build it in automatically but you also have an option to schedule your own notifications if you want to send like a daily gm or you want to send a one off notification to all the subscribers and only announcing some event you you you can do it through this interface what chris is showing here

native building kind of tools by forecaster but when you click here you get this kind of full application here this is this events tracking application and the the real kinda secret sauce that i love about this events tracking application is the same thing that clanker did is that all of the kind of commentary on the feed that is date related can automatically be added into the events mini app just by kind of going like i won't do it here but you kinda go hashtag events and then you just say add and it's gonna look at the original post here it's gonna extract the date information as well as the cover photo and it's gonna create an event that can then be rsvp to directly in the feed via the i

who do you see as like kind of like who's the target person who should be using vini app and if there's people who want to try vini app but feel like if they're not as technical you guys are around to support like
yeah yeah definitely around to support all the time you know we also we're also keen on kind of like helping people become community supporters themselves so maybe there's some sort of initiative that we can kinda carry it to say like the like the vini app kind of community members or something like that where you can kind of like levels to your skill set right so because there's a i remember kinda getting into the job market a long time people are always like oh find a mentor find a mentor and there's kinda two types of mentors there's there's the mentor that's kinda made it in life they're kinda sitting on their yacht or they're in kind of palm springs being like feet up kinda sipping mimosas all day being like i made it like i know i have all the knowledge like i'm i'm the best i can be but the the real best mentors are kind of the the person that's kinda like one or two steps ahead of you in life where you're like okay i want to level up i wanna make that application i've never made an application and there's somebody that kinda just went through and they made their like they're on their third app that they've made and they're like oh shoot like i i know exactly what you're going through right now like i can empathize with you i can i can teach you these are the couple of things that i learned to kinda go from level one to level three and so that type of style is kind of we we can imagine kind of vinnie building out a community we'll say like hey like all of these people it's literally like the 99% of people that don't code doing a huge transition kind of education process just to help people get their first build out and to your point earlier naanish it's it's really learning by doing is the only way to learn really it's like you you can never really feel something or kind of get better at something unless you try and kind of keep it simple and

one one last thing to mention too is that so farcaster batches is coming up and i think what we might be doing is running like a vini competition for maybe four days where you can build a a a vini app and one nice thing about it is that we can kind of have a cool style of of a leaderboard where in addition to kinda just having judging on the applications what we can use is the analytics we can use the the the unique users the number of views on the application and then also the token price of the application to help judge and kinda filter the applications so anyone can kinda build a vini app we're thinking about something like above point six nanr score kinda gets maybe a free build or a couple free builds so you can kinda get in there get something out and then we'll have a live leaderboard where people will be able to kinda track and kinda compare their success of the application during forecast or batches and then maybe on the fifth we can kinda do a bit of judgment

we also you know what we really also because what's really cool about farcaster and what's really cool about the wallet experience in clinker token is that it's shareable it's divisible and so if you want to build something you can kind of group up with a few people and kind of build things together and so you can kind of fund your vini like the vini app wallet or your kind of project wallet together and so the fees becomes like less than the cost of a latte it could be like a couple dollars each where like oh we got the whole application that's shareable with a brand kit all all good to go so that's a cool way to do it too
