yeah but i i did love that and i did love your comment i thought that was hilarious we do have this going on this week this is a big week this is a big week and stan with crypto has been not yesterday crypto but stan with crypto has been working really really hard for years to get to this point this is the week when there will be a vote up or down the the first thing that happens is a cloture vote cloture vote means they have the votes to actually put the vote forward this is just like to close the question it's a procedural kind of thing but that's what's gonna happen first before they even take a vote on the bill itself usually if you have the cloture votes you have the votes to pass the bill so rarely does it not work out like that so this is from stan with crypto today 21 stan with crypto chapter presidents founders and advocates from michigan georgia north dakota south dakota oklahoma texas nevada arizona virginia and california are in washington meeting with senate offices ahead of the clarity act cloture vote it is time to move forward with the clarity act and then we had this from them as well this week in crypto the senate is back monday the clarity act cloture vote is september 15 that is tomorrow the national sheriffs association just shifted from opposed to neutral we'll take it stan with crypto was on the road in the bronx in elizabeth city and on the hill meeting with senate staff to make the case directly tell your senators to vote yes on advancing clarity on tuesday so lots of stuff happening i also saw something from senator lummis who's been forefront on this and she did say that they did come to some agreements on the ethics part of it that the democrats were pushing for so we'll see that would help with that and that the white house was agreeing to it so we'll see what happens this week so look for that this week so we'll have some more information on that when we are on on thursday in other really big news

if you're shocked that they changed the name back to coinbase wallet raise your hand no no one no one so the base app is now coinbase wallet build for speed trade anything anywhere without asking permission so this was like the least shocking thing that happened knew this was gonna happen by the way the funniest thing i saw were people like people were saying oh you should change the name like like oh we did it in twenty four hours no we didn't no we didn't have you ever worked with the apple store no this has been in the works for a while they've been doing this for a while like this has been in the plans for a couple months they've been working on this as soon as they added another chain that should have been a big red flag that like it's not gonna be called baseapp anymore like as soon as they got a robinhood but also they never should have changed it in the first place they never should have changed the name like it was hard to understand so when i was having like students download it it was hard to explain what it was when it was base app like i used to have them download it as coinbase wallet and then like switching to base app it was like harder to explain that this is a wallet so
but it's also i i mean incubating a a chain that is trying to be neutral within a publicly traded corporation in the united states it's also that's confusing yeah because the incentives don't line up

so that's another one that i'd recommend if you haven't seen it good one to go back and watch these are like bonus episodes that really part of our full thing and then this happened in december we did a watch party for the coinbase system update totally forgot we did this we actually did it like almost twitch style because like you had the comments we had the comments like right on the screen while we were doing the watch party and like that's where so that was the moment that was supposed to be so you're back at base camp in september beta's open to more people you know it's they're exploring a token and the goal was by december like by the system update it would be open to everybody baseapp would be open to everybody so this was supposed to be the moment that like we're supposed to have this like you know million people that we're we're gonna see on farcaster and all this and i think everyone at that point was just like you know weren't sure if it was gonna be good or bad and then it was just like nothing really happened and then shit hit the fan shit hit the fan and brian armstrong was like got feedback that wasn't great and that changed the whole trajectory of where we are now back to coinbase wallet as of this week but that is less than a year like eight months

by december post then that was post clanker acquisition acquisition pre quiet pre like we're gonna sell so it was like early it was late november early december and then the quiet period came right after that
then you had quiet period and you were like okay what's like you know like
something's going on
something's going on and then earl like i think the neymar acquisition made sense to a lot of people and we talked about as well like so much respect for those guys rish i mean like also our our intro to rish at farcon one was so strong like you remember his we were just like oh he gave a talk and i was like okay now you like he just had such credentials not credentials like just literal like i not credentials credibility i i need to say not external credentials like just such credibility when he's showing what he's building and how he thinks and talks he's done he did forecaster infrastructure for so many years like he he felt like a builder like you know true builder so we were pretty optimistic it made sense for people who believe yep you know so even that i think when rish came to us and said like kind of announced the cef i think that was such a strong point of like yeah it was a good point of view of like hey look we're gonna try to give back to the community and builders he did it in a way where he was like fully trusting us as stewards to say like we're embedded in the community trusting us to kinda make independent decisions and so i even up to there it was like you know it was a we're all a little wait and see wait and see

and then the summer he got quiet you know like it's like he did get quiet and he came back later and said you know he's doing some reflection he also had a kid like he had his he like they had their first kid like i know what that time is like
so i'd say similar to you but it was a little post like there's just a lot
of hesitation up and down this year it's been very up and down like the fall felt positive and then we get into like that november december time frame and it starts to get wonky and then the rest of this year has been a lot of up and down of like moments of like okay maybe i'm like well maybe not well maybe like just like this very much up and down throughout this year of like what is what is farcaster going to be and that impacts us like it just does because that's what we report on yeah market right market was very volatile

expanded it to twitter so i'm a little i'm yeah no one knows the future of farcaster at this point and it's also like many apps on farcaster it's built on nayanar as well so like i'm using nayanar apis because you could say oh farcaster protocol will live on maybe but it's it's also built with nayanar apis and sign in with farcaster and you don't know what will continue to be supported as far as i know it's still working today but it's like i keep waiting for some day like for it maybe not to work yeah yeah just we will see but it will live on so
i think this year i would say this year i feel like was your most prolific building year really maybe into a little bit into year two but really like this past year like you just have built a lot of things and a lot of this has been behind the scenes that you guys don't even see that i see that have been a huge help for me in getting like show notes out and things like that that have saved me a ton of time but just in even just the games and all the different experiments that you've done the shout outs all those things just experimenting has been really fun to watch you watch you cook it's been fun

i i probably let a little bit of my doomer self out to you know i'm such an optimist right like yeah in in life yeah and and a lot of what you see when i the things i cast about and things i talk about tend to be like the the positive side of things but the year on forecaster i kinda said like it hasn't been all good in the past year and there's been ups and downs but like when i just reflecting back on covering the space like for three years it's been so like it really has brought joy like it's been such a satisfying journey and to think from like three years ago when you were like hey let's just talk about what's happening on farcaster would never have believed one that we that it would turn into something that we were doing for so long and i built like i think the archive is really interesting that we kind of like have

have kind of captured what's happening through like
we also have like about a you know over a thousand people have been watching this morning
