alright couple more quick things i started writing again for a couple reasons i've been thinking about it for a while i've been slacking on it for a while there i was doing something weekly for a while i was trying to do writing every day and that didn't last very long but i did that to get myself going so i did some writing today and one of the other inspirations for that writing was this conversation whoops was this conversation that balaji and vitalik had as part of and this is now a standalone video and i'd highly recommend if you watch anything in that work state watch this one they first talk about the ai threat to crypto and quantum then they talk about the ethereum road map then they talk about ai in writing in there which i thought was really interesting and vitalik talked about the way he prompts and works with his ai to learn and i thought that was really interesting and just also talking about writing in general and how that hasn't really made a lot of strides where coding has and other things have and math and things like that so i thought that was it was just a really interesting conversation and then they talk about network states after that but that was partial of the inspiration and what i talked about was my class started up again last week i added a new assignment to week one which covers basic blockchain stuff and bitcoin it's only an eight week class so it's kind of super condensed normally a sixteen week and they i added something called who's satoshi who is satoshi and they had to look at a couple sources that i gave them as well as anything else and i know most of them just popped it into their favorite llm and give me give me an idea of who they thought satoshi was in this write up you'll see the actual assignment if you wanna go and read it and explore and add your comment as to who you think satoshi is and whether it matters because that was part of their assignment is they had to say does it even matter and then what i did because again most of them pop these things into llms and then just drop that into the assignment and aren't really using their critical thinking skills we actually had a discussion in class last night and about half class thought it was adam back so i put them in one group and the other half of the class there was like basically consensus that it was either hal finney len sasserman nick zabo or some combination of those three so i had them do a little debate like support your reasoning mhmm and that was a lot of fun so i had to coach them a lot i had to prompt them a lot like well did you look at this and did you look at that and it was funny because i'm like yeah but okay but wait who did satoshi quote on that what was in the references on the ninth page of the bitcoin white paper and they're like panic panicked faces i'm like scroll down the white paper's literally nine pages go to the end there's a list of references what's number six and it was really funny so getting them to kinda think through their reasoning even if they didn't fully do the assignment themselves and but it went it was really well it was a really good discussion and the bigger reason to have them do that was really just to have them think about bitcoin and think about who created it why did they created it what was the reasoning behind it what are the values of the you know the cypherpunks what's you know what's the value of cryptography and all these kinds of things and it was a good way for them to kinda think through some of those things so it was fun very cool yeah and then this week we started ethereum so that i actually used i showed a little bit of that conversation with vitalik and biology in class because it was because he talked about the ethereum roadmap and where they're going and lean ethereum and all that kind of stuff so it was really good stop it yeah so anyway it was a good class so far

lot of fun i forgot i do like i do like teaching this class i got very towards the end of my full time teaching i got very burned out because it was it's a lot you're performing if you've never taught so i've enjoyed being away from it but i still do love teaching this particular class and i have the other professor who sat in last semester sitting in again because he's getting ready to teach it next semester we're gonna have two sections and he's real he's i'm like it's i'm like you understand that this class is different every single semester i'm like i have taught this since january 2022 every single semester has been different you could have taken it every semester and learned something new so and he's figuring that out real fast he's getting a little nervous
