gm gm and welcome everyone to the sixth episode of the hub forecaster developer focused podcast really excited to be here today with my guest cohost adrian g m adrian

0:45Speaker 1

g m dilstac how are you

0:47Speaker 0

i'm doing great how are you

0:49Speaker 1

doing good i apologize to all your listeners that they're stuck with me as a a two timer guest host for this developer focused podcast when i just larp as a developer

1:03Speaker 0

oh no i think we've had a lot of great back and forth actually and get to kinda like go go deeper on on certain topics and you're obviously very up to date with everything that's going on in farcaster so sure it'll be not another fun conversation and as we were kinda alluding to pre stream there's just so much going on right now to go over so excited to jump in do i still

1:26Speaker 1

do my best to stay up to date

1:28Speaker 0

oh you do i think yeah oh this is probably the longest list of show notes that i have so far and we could even do live demos so this will be a fun one and gm to everyone who is joining but we'll kinda get a slow intro here so the first one is something i was excited to see last night frames v two support in our non warp cast client for what looks like the first time so if you haven't used a recaster you definitely should by the way it's a great farcaster client i know it's on ios maybe it's on android as well been very quick to adopt new features to add fun features like this clinker mini app for example and then just as recently as last night added support for v two frames using walletconnect to easily connect to a wallet so if you are a v two frame developer looking for even more exposure obviously you're probably just thinking about warpcast at first but the fact that there is another client to have that distribution to test to use things when work cast is maybe down or not reliable is great and you know hale howell has been we're gonna get the name right one day but hale has been you know building recaster at a very quick pace building one of these new features has definitely caught my eye and always great when a plethora of clients can have these features to just not rely on one single client it's always very exciting

2:59Speaker 1

yeah have you been using recaster i know you've talked about it

3:03Speaker 0

i do use it a bit sometimes while i use it like for these new features sometimes i'll go in to check up on things and then also whenever something's down on the work cast or sometimes i'll hit like the big spinner and the app just kinda won't load or be the most performance i'll go to recaster and it doesn't have that kinda lag opening gap any sort of spinner is just waiting for the data feed which i kinda

3:26Speaker 1

mhmm

3:26Speaker 0

prefer to just be there

3:28Speaker 1

is recaster free or is it a paid app

3:32Speaker 0

it is free i can i can show you i have the the screen share app let me i can change the screen let me see is that even possible did i lock myself in this app actually so i may have spoke too soon i think i'm kinda like locked in this app that i chose on my phone but we can i i can show you the the web version actually so i think it's just read only for now but you can go in and you can see any user's feeds so like adrian this is like the chronological feed that you'd be seeing on on the app based on my followers yeah

4:09Speaker 1

okay

4:10Speaker 0

you can you know click on any cast so even this in particular is just i think helpful and and looks nice and i guess yeah there is some functionality if you log in you can make these lists and bookmarks so should definitely check out recaster

4:28Speaker 1

i have to practice what i what i preach more which is use everything we talk about recaster but i haven't been using it myself so it's kind of a just a little reminder i need to get in there

4:40Speaker 0

nice nice i don't know it takes time to to try all these apps there's so much out there awesome alright so the next the next couple i believe actually are all about brains b two so i'm going to pull those up at the same time because there's a couple of the cast that probably make more sense in context together instead of us going all the way around it so i'll just open those tabs up and then we can get through

5:09Speaker 0

but yes if you do not know from the timeline then last week frames v two support launched the the dev preview on warpcast you can send them and they'll show up on warpcast mobile good support for them there's also which we'll go into a second there is this developer mode developer tab where you can test your frame inside of warpcast and you know as we'll go into part of this new frame spec requires this domain verification think of it this way when you create a website you're getting some sort of record whether it's like a c name or some sort of like dns record that you're setting for a verification imagine that sort of verification except it's coming from your farcaster account and being sent on that website so anytime the request comes in warpcast can know this app was made by this verified fid who signed this message at at this time and that's kinda like a good way to at least bought out some content and there's a tool for that as well so like in webcast mobile you can just put in the name of your website and it will give you a little snippet to paste on your site and then you can like verify or

6:21Speaker 1

check i didn't know that so the frames can be verify you can see verifiably who the creator of the frame was

6:30Speaker 0

yeah so first

6:31Speaker 1

shares that is that that manifest file or is that something different

6:37Speaker 0

so the way it works and maybe it's a good time to just show some of the the code my personal website like dylansec.com which is a blog i made this a mini of like a v two frame so you just like click launch and it and it opens it up and you can you can read all of this so i'd say mine is probably like one of the simplest use cases because i'm not doing anything with the wallet i'm not like using the sdk to bring you anywhere in warpcast but there's like two main parts for a frame so one is at the root of your app you have to have this dot well known slash farcaster dot json file and in the farcaster dot json file this is the part here you're getting from warpcast this it's called domain account association so in warpcast i put in like in the developers tab there's this little domains tab and i just type in you know www.dylansteck.com and it gives me this highlighted part which i add into the config and then i can go back and i can type in the domain and it can be like that

7:44Speaker 1

snippet's now verified very cool so no one even if someone hacks into your website from a like your website hosting and changes this file they can't mimic or or pretend it's you creating a frame because you'd have to do something on your farcaster account as well to kind of create that handshake

8:03Speaker 0

i believe it i believe it's bidirectional i would that would make it even more secure in my mind to be honest i don't know the a % answer but if so then then like also you know part of the reason i feel better about this is like the official forecaster example has this info public so that would lead me to thinking that having that info public is like the recommended route

8:30Speaker 1

mhmm

8:32Speaker 0

before

8:33Speaker 1

and hey dylan before we go into kind of more deep can you give like the sixty second or however long what like overview of what frames v two is all about and why like what the difference is between initial frames and v two

8:49Speaker 0

yeah for sure so this is like a good way to start off i guess this is an example of or before i show the video frames v two basically means that all of these different entry points in warp cast that could be a frame that could be a cast action a composer action whatever can load up this 90% web view mini app etcetera we've we've been getting there right there these these things like composer actions that can open the mini app now they're just calling everything frames and it is entry points that open up an actual mini app like an actual website inside of a web view and that website inside of a web view you know not only does it have cosmetic things to make it look nicer so like when the frame is loading there's a placeholder background in a little icon like if you're opening an app to make it look nicer little things like that but the developer of the frame also has an sdk where they can go and trigger things in the client so let's say you made a gm farcaster v two frame it can have a list of all of the podcast episodes but then when you click mint it can trigger the wallet in warpcast and the user's preferred wallet can can mint that nft

10:07Speaker 1

and you can also going from so like frames v one were really if you just think about frames it was like a static image with some some buttons so therefore slow and couldn't do that much even though it had context of who you were and what your wallet was and then mini apps were a little more richer so like frames v two combines the two which is launching from your feed you stay in feed but you have like full functionality of like a website anything you can do on a website you can do now in a frame v two or like that app that launches plus the additional context of knowing who you're like who's interacting with it and a wallet

10:43Speaker 0

yeah i think it's great because you have you have that user context the user can access this within context like part of what makes a a frame good when there are enough frames is the fact that you you're just seeing the frame in context like it's you know in your feed and and you're clicking on it but it has this robustness now where you have an entire app that you can edit and these like permissions or actions you can go and take back in warpcast to make it much more dynamic so some of the things we've already seen so far we've seen games like a ball frame as if you ever played a little game where you have like a little basketball and gonna like swipe it into the into the hoop and you can play that there are swapping frames like for a clinker you click swap and it just loads the wallet you have connected token creating frames ai chat bots you know like the clinker tools yoink where every time you yoink it has some little transaction you have to pay in your wallet so many different types of experiences and i feel like we're we're just scratching the surface as well

11:53Speaker 1

so cool

11:54Speaker 0

yeah no it's a exciting time so if you do wanna learn more about v two frames there's a couple places that you could go one is you can go to framesv2.com it's a simple site but it seemed like it's put together by merkle and it has these reference frames so the top this is what i referenced when i was making my frame it is this frames v two demo directly from farcaster i believe it's horse facts who made it it's really well built it basically shows you like all of the different things that you can do with a v two frame so for example the v two frame gives you context on the logged in user it shows you that it shows you how to trigger the transaction how to trigger assigned message you know you can send a user to any page in workcast you can send them to any url so like you can send them to a youtube video for example all all these different things and it's just like a really great showcase and it's in next js which a lot of developers on farcaster i think are pretty familiar with it's very ai indexable so this is like a great great place to start and also attached to it there is this awesome tutorial that horsefax made it's like a twenty twenty something minute tutorial video course facts was also like on a live stream all this sort of stuff so there's a there's a bunch of content now if you wanna go and make v two frames and so yeah i would say if you want to either go to framesv2.com that's easy to memorize or just go to the frames v two channel and everything is there like the top frames the help the group chat everything pretty centralized

13:39Speaker 0

awesome yeah so definitely recommends checking it out like we're we're still so early there isn't desktop support yet there's still many more frames to be made there's people who have even said like jason from airstack moxie said that they're kinda like booked out through the end of the year and other people are gonna have a head start on them and frames and i guess from that perspective like if you're a young hungry builder use this as the opportunity to you know wow people and and and build cool stuff on the timeline yeah one other thing i wanted to call attention to these are just more examples great video from horse facts but one other thing i wanted to call attention to is this from tony saying adding like a nice fallback for your clients that don't support v two frames as an aside i think that's a great thing that since the frames are are built on these web standards of meta tags there are things you can do to a like gracefully fall back when a client doesn't support a frame but also extend your website so that the same website can be a web you know a general website like the same way you have it online it can also be a v two frame it can be all of these different things that's also i think how lightweight and extensible the like framework is there

15:00Speaker 1

that sounds good i'll take your word for it and okay i guess right like like with anything new i guess best practices for frame v two development haven't necessarily been written but there's i guess patterns and best practices from just general web development that you'll use and and i guess it's a cool way to contribute to creating frames v two best practices just start playing around and

15:27Speaker 0

no totally i think that is the best way cool one other thing re oh sorry

15:33Speaker 1

i'm saying they will be written someday so might as well get your fingerprint on them

15:38Speaker 0

yeah yeah no totally this is the like this is the prime time to to do so one last frames v two developer related thing i wanted to call attention to was this ever last week so you know during thanksgiving i was taking some time off the computer but every time i kept coming back to the timeline there was so much going on with frames coming out people building on them dan announced this mini like frames bounty which i think closes tomorrow for building a frame up to like a thousand dollars or something like that and so i i can i didn't do everything yet in terms of using the wallet capabilities the sdk but i just wanted to convert a couple of simple sites to v two frames it's like fun to use fun to share and i found like a what i think are the the main steps at least for converting a v one frame to a v two frame or just adding it to a next js app so i wrote this little long cast here and wanted to quickly share it hopefully it resonates for developers i said it took me just about forty five minutes to convert a v one frame to a v two frame in the next js app so i wanted to walk through the steps the first is installing the farcaster frame sdk package it's a npm package you also have to install a handstack query which is used for the fetching as well as a vm and wagmi for wallet operations if you're building an app in crypto though i think those packages are pretty familiar and there's a good chance that they're already even in your package dot json i was using frames js for a v one frame you know still think it's great and like v one frames are gonna have support for a while so if you wanna keep it up you can keep it up i just i just gutted it from my app it was pretty easy because all my v one frame stuff was just in the same folder because that's how frames js works so i just deleted the folder and removed the package in my layout.tsx i created the json for the frame i can show that very quickly here this is all the json is it's very similar to the the old frame json and it just has this one little button with an action saying to launch the frame there the rest of the metadata about like where the frame is and everything that comes from this well known farcaster.json route that we had set so i set that in the layout in the component the main component of the website we need to make sure that the app is ready that is how this this this farcaster sdk works is there is this you know loading screen because it needs to load the app but also make sure there's not bad content on it so then when the app is loaded and it's ready you have to say hey the app is ready it's just like really just kinda like copy paste the snippet and it will make sure that when the page is loaded it will actually show your app on warpcast and from there you're good you know i did that domain verification i put the json in the well known forecaster and it was you know really just these four steps installing the packages and and removing the old stuff putting the frame json in the root layout making sure that the entire app was guarded by that ready function so that you know it's ready and it shows the app and then at the end just doing that farcaster json where i copy paste the info from farcaster and that was it and then i i pushed to vercel and you go to the little like mobile testing thing on warpcast or you know share it out on mobile and click in the frame and it was all good

19:14Speaker 1

do you recommend people migrate their frames

19:18Speaker 0

i think

19:19Speaker 1

if it's this easy

19:21Speaker 0

i think especially if you're not if you have very like complex view on frames built out and you think that they're still gonna have some traction or some there's some backwards compatibility you'd want then it it is helpful to to have it up but especially for me my v one frame was very simple it was like a carousel like click through and it keeps showing you the options and especially for that use case it's a lot better if you just go see all the options on the website than click through a frame it takes longer it's it's not as great of an experience and so i i just opted for that personally maybe there's another world where i could've kept the v one up as well but i yeah opted for this made it easier and that frame wasn't getting a crazy amount of traction for me so for most cases i would recommend it it it would like opens up even more possibilities

20:14Speaker 1

and i saw i guess an announcement that if if they decide to stop supporting frames v one they'll give like they'll announce it and give a three month grace period at least so

20:24Speaker 0

yeah same to you

20:25Speaker 1

sounds like for now no plans to retire it but

20:28Speaker 0

yeah totally

20:29Speaker 1

i mean that could change

20:31Speaker 0

yeah we'll see cool alright let's see what's next so follow this from stream it seems like stream's like a faster native

20:45Speaker 0

stream streaming yeah live live streaming platform there we go and they have this new pump.fun sorry i have to say it is pump.fun reminiscent feature where you where you launch a meme token and and go live streamers earn built with clankr and yeah i mean let's see where it goes i don't i don't

21:05Speaker 1

know what to say there we saw how this story plays out but

21:10Speaker 0

yeah well i think then i think the immediate reaction is like what is their stance on moderation what is the sort of content they're okay with having on that platform is there a world where this sort of concept makes sense but it's much more guarded because some really crazy and bad stuff happened on those you know and it's certainly not something that we want for farcaster for crypto at all so and and i think that's like a tricky that's a really tricky thing with things that are permissionless but i think especially with this type of idea that we where we literally just saw this happen the other week how do you test this but give it the right guardrail so that that exact thing does not happen

21:59Speaker 1

yeah you could do something with like your social capital store score reputation where and i guess there's always

22:09Speaker 1

yeah i i i actually don't know how this would then integrate with the feed but there seems to be with programmable social ways to program outcomes you want

22:19Speaker 0

yeah yeah i don't know or is there like some is there some exclusivity that you give it at first that is like also your that's your safety guardrail but it can also play into the marketing or you know trajectory of the platform yeah but we'll see i think if anything like oh look obviously the making sure that sort of stuff doesn't happen should be like one of the top priorities and is certainly not something that we wanna see i think on the other side if it can be properly managed it it is exciting that people are tinkering and trying to find ways for all of these farcaster legos to to come together and there's like certainly a a moment going on regardless of just like what live streaming could be

23:04Speaker 1

yeah and we do think live streaming is the future of all media just yes

23:08Speaker 0

yeah that's

23:09Speaker 1

obvious as we're live streaming yeah so no shade on live stream that's super cool i just

23:15Speaker 0

yes what you should join

23:16Speaker 1

it's just the combination it's just the combination of live streaming with with meme coins

23:23Speaker 0

yeah it gets gets hectic well this was another one i thought was cool it is a v two frame as well so you should check this out on mobile barcaster starter packs so if you have seen which i'm sure maybe you'll be going over on your chat with dan later that warpcast has this great new starter pack feature which was inspired by blue sky where you can put a list of up to a hundred people together tiago who is a great builder he's built feeds built a a bunch of other stuff on farcaster he made this little like three d tool where you can literally just like swipe through and explore all the different so let's see if we can get all the way down to the one that you made for farcaster native media i think it should

24:05Speaker 1

and what you're showing here like because you're on desktop when you click through to the to the frame this just opens up as a website like if you're on mobile this opens up in app

24:18Speaker 0

yeah

24:18Speaker 1

but this is this is like the frame that is that's designed to like it's just it works like any old regular website but because it has various headers in it it opens up in app on mobile

24:30Speaker 0

yeah totally i don't know if i'm able to find the video of it but but exactly on on mobile it will app open up just like that i think they're adding desktop support this week but yeah you you would you would just see the same thing here and you'd be able to swipe through these but i think this is cool and then using using that sdk if you were on mobile when you click one of these links it would just take you back into work cast to view the starter pack which is very neat

24:55Speaker 1

yeah and this is such a nice ui and i don't think right you could never have done this with frames v one

25:04Speaker 0

yeah totally i mean this is i think yeah there's like a really cool one thing that comes to mind sorry i was like trying to figure out the best way to articulate it is for the longest time even before frames one thing i wanted to see was could you just have an embedded livestream widget directly in the post the same way you do on twitter x lens all that i wonder if now that we've standardized around this platform does something like that become possible in the future where that v two frame is just somehow shown in the feed or maybe it's only shown for like a designated type of v two frame like a live stream and it has some extra permissions or security or whatnot but that sort of world of everything being embedded seems a lot closer than it once was and as you just said this sort of starter pack thing would not have been possible at all people would have been trying to do it in v one frames like with gifs and it would have been slow and yeah

26:06Speaker 1

yes slow is bad we don't we're we don't we can't we we can't tolerate slow

26:13Speaker 0

i know slow is bad first first it was block speeds then it was using frames you know we we do it to ourselves sometimes

26:23Speaker 0

yeah cool alright so again on the on the meme coin angle i saw this new tool from nt another great forecaster builder clank fund pump dot fund for clanker never missed the latest launches track launch cast engagements

26:42Speaker 0

yeah i i'm pretty sure you're not launching a token on here like pump.fun it seems like it's more of just like a a second ui for clanker and a a different way to search it which i think is also very cool

26:57Speaker 1

and i assume who did you say built this

27:01Speaker 0

nt who built amp amp cast

27:06Speaker 1

ah nick t i assume also i mean he he may have talked to proxy but i assume this is just you know unaffiliated necessarily with clanker and proxy studio and just hey it's permissionless and you have all these building blocks and anyone can build on top and kind of do spin offs so it's just a fun front end for seeing what's happening in the clanker world

27:28Speaker 0

yeah and i i will also and this made me realize that clanker has a undocumented but open api and i've i'll i could take like twenty seconds to show it i've been building something and i made a very very small integration for it yesterday so i've been working on kinda like forcast related ai chat as well as potentially some stuff around building v two frames but the chat has been my focus so now using this clanker api when i ask which clanker tokens are trending i can get this little interactive component that uses live data to show me the token and some little widget around it

28:13Speaker 1

wow

28:13Speaker 0

so here like these are the live tokens i can go through i can go and and view it on deck screener and imagine if it was like much more interactive i can actually show the chart or you can buy it in some sort of swap right there i think that's like the the the sort of future it can all trend towards but even just doing this i think was kinda fun to put together

28:37Speaker 0

so yeah separately we'll we'll hopefully share this soon but i thought this was cool and good use of the of the api and hopefully more people will build on it too i love that that people are just like permissionlessly build building on top of these platforms makes it all much richer to experience

28:59Speaker 0

alright let's see what's next a lot of it was frames v two so there might be some kinda like going around here oh here's one so sloke kartik who built a noncast and also built a nook had a great episode with laura shin from unchained last week you know it was like twenty minutes or so i recommend you listen to it i think it's cool kind of just like hearing about his builder history building this in like a weekend or a couple days having like not as much experience on the api that he used for the for the z k stuff so just like cool listen and also a sign of i think it it like got a solid amount of views like let's see yeah i got like 50,000 views or so 60 which is pretty good for crypto twitter and a good sign as well that some a platform like unchained is excited about something really cool that's going on on farcaster i think it's another sign for builders that's a you know great time to continue building and there's a lot of eyes on farcaster and and i i would also preface it by saying you it's not necessarily building just for the eyes that are on farcaster being like oh i need to be in the spotlight or whatever but more so making use of these legos to really have your app do well or or learn or or just kinda ride that sort of moment that's going on right now

30:26Speaker 1

yeah and i really like the idea of attracting more builders to farcaster so obviously farcaster got a little

30:35Speaker 1

i saw it all over my twitter feed but it was mostly related to meme coins and and clanker activity and no shade by the way to clanker i kind of feel like i keep bashing meme coins and throwing clanker in there but i do love i do love all the clanking but i when it comes to kind of growth and whatnot i wanna i wanna attract more devs

31:01Speaker 0

yes

31:01Speaker 1

i think it's still that's kinda the energy if you remember like in january we had a bump with frames and frames hackathon and then happened right after so maybe we're seeing this in reverse we get a little we get a little clanker bump but followed by frames v two dev excitement so get the devs over

31:20Speaker 0

hopefully like how do we turn the token excitement into into something more builder yeah yeah like like one of the things i didn't really cast out because i didn't like i think everyone was kinda like taking their own profit from it and whatever is there were many and this happens with a lot of fads but like there were people who don't really come to farcaster much or they kinda just like secretly trash on farcaster and then clanker caught their attention and so they made some token and the token like did well for a day or two and for that day or two they were like oh i'm the prince of farcaster or the princess of farcaster and i've always loved farcaster and you know what i you know what i'm saying and i guess like that happens at at at any sort of trend but i wonder how we get people who are maybe just coming for farcaster for the glitz and glamour to like double down and like see the promise and what's really exciting there i guess to some extent it's not gonna happen for a % of people there's like speculation in in in any sort of field but

32:21Speaker 1

i i think people who come like come you know we and i always say to come for the coin stay for the community or

32:28Speaker 0

yeah

32:29Speaker 1

come for something and then you're staying for builder it's like the tide will wash out like we'll come in and then there's shells and things that get left and you know it's like you'll have different waves of growth but people are always you're always gonna get people who hang around and build

32:44Speaker 0

yeah i also i also think there's gonna continue to be more entry points and and there have been like one thing is the channel invite links which i don't know if that's out or or coming out soon my favorite show i don't understand maybe we need our own our own gpt assistant in the chat

33:03Speaker 1

this is a classic maybe this is the new tagline the hub my favorite show i don't understand and this is a show for developers the wufy so that is fine and if you feel bad watching the show as a non developer imagine how i feel co hosting this show so this is my favorite show i co host that i don't understand i feel you

33:27Speaker 0

oh man something along that tagline would be like great on a mug or something like that or like or even like i don't understand myself on the mug that's great

33:38Speaker 1

i do with these a developer i apologize

33:40Speaker 0

you develop vibes nice

33:46Speaker 0

but yeah no so going back to the channel invite links like i think there are many of these different ways to not only bring someone into farcaster but like keep them retentive in that cycle with the to with with the token stuff it's like harder because that's the most craze you know but i think for the rest like for example if you're not as farcaster related and you're you're going to events and then you're meeting farcaster people like with the channel invite links i think there's many more ways to to get you hooked i think hopefully with the token stuff like the more exciting things farcaster does the more that catches the zeitgeist the more people continue to take it seriously and it's not just you know speculate on token

34:38Speaker 0

awesome alright let's see what we have next here this one i thought was cool too so i went over this on the last episode last week this little meme from matthew that maybe if you mention a ticker you would see the modal come up and be able to buy or sell which i did think was really cool and the way matthew mocked it up was like pretty similar to to what i would think of in the warpcast design system and then rish at nanar quoted this and added a a new feature to the nanar api saying that for any coin on base you can now see your top friends who own the same coin it seems like they've been doing some more on chain stuff but i think it's really cool like for example when frames v one came out one of the biggest things people were using their api in for four was like validating the frame which is very gnarly and requires this entire signature etcetera and without i mean i'm just like popping from the cheap seats here but it seems like one of the ways where their infra might be also helpful for frames v two and agents and this next wave of of farcaster hype that's coming up is actually supporting like what does the other side of farcaster data look like on chain or like what does data look like that can support something like an agent or a v two frame so i think this is really cool i think some of these these new apis that are coming out like i think there's a there's this other one as well where you can see like the token balance of a user let's see so there's a yeah there's relevant owners token balance subscribers i think this is for hypersub fabric if i'm not mistaken but yeah i think i think like that kinda like on chain component is something cool to be exploring

36:25Speaker 1

i saw matthew's cast i think professor even pulled it for a gm forecaster we might have even talked about it and i am only now realizing what i'm looking at this is this is very humbling so i just realized so matthew was just mocking up the ability to make token

36:47Speaker 1

token names clickable like hyperlinked and interactive

36:52Speaker 0

yeah i think he was

36:53Speaker 1

talking right dollar side burn dollar side token just doesn't it doesn't tag anything in the feed today right there's it's just text so this is like and this is what twitter does like with stock prices

37:05Speaker 0

yeah i think the way twitter does it is a little bit different if i'm not mistaken when you click on it it like takes you to a search page and then on top of the search page it says something let's see like if i do

37:19Speaker 1

like i mean it's like a hashtag dare i say it's hashtag but for for for tickers

37:25Speaker 0

yeah like here with tesla it just like shows us on the top and then i see the feed but i think yeah matt's example is you would click and it shows the model and something about the way it was casted or the way i saw it on my timeline or whatever i thought it was like out in a feature and then and then quickly realized it wasn't

37:42Speaker 1

well that's what i was gonna ask you this doesn't exist yet

37:45Speaker 0

yeah i i i well krish is

37:47Speaker 1

saying he's gonna start building apis already in neymar so that you can

37:54Speaker 0

query oh yeah so he you know they they launched this new api where now you can see like your top friends that like own the same coin so like which of my friends own the cast out token for example i think maybe the point he was alluding

38:10Speaker 1

any of your friends are doing

38:12Speaker 0

the list is way too long for us to read off but i think the point he's trying to make is like you know this thing from matthew doesn't exist but with this sort of infra maybe these are things we can support i mean it doesn't like it doesn't look like this route is giving you like the seven day price of the token or whatever but it it it seems like maybe yeah these routes just like can continue to help you try and support certain farcaster x on chain projects or or just quoting for relevance yeah

38:45Speaker 1

yeah but it's like i don't know it's just another example of what's possible with programmable social and i think it's one step closer to bringing us to hashtags that's all i'm saying so i want yeah

38:56Speaker 0

i thought

38:57Speaker 1

i want a hashtag

38:59Speaker 0

yeah

39:00Speaker 1

because

39:01Speaker 0

ironically part of what made me think this was gonna happen is dan casted something like a week ago and he was like we're we're launching something really cool and like no one's gonna know what it is or something like that and then he was like no one's no one's guessed it and unless i didn't catch up on it i don't know if they ever revealed what that was or if it was the v two oh okay well that

39:28Speaker 1

it was startermax yeah

39:30Speaker 0

that makes sense but i feel like that was like very publicly known that they were building that like on the developer calls people are like can you guys do blue sky starter packs they're like we're working on it like

39:41Speaker 1

and then he's like guess what we're doing and no one could guess it except for me i

39:45Speaker 0

nice nice that's interesting he really psyched everyone out there because i was because i was gonna say if he hadn't announced it come on you know let's yeah let's see what that thing is but because at first part of me was thinking oh are they doing something on chain like would they because if they had actually done something like what matthew hosted then i would have thought like all bets are all previous bets are off the table like if they would do if they would actually build this thing then i would feel like they're just like willing to embrace any sort of crypto nativity crypto features and and and they do embrace a lot of crypto nativity i think a if they were to do something like this it would obviously be you know in some sort of v two frame and b i think while they're like embracing more so that this whole meme coin moment is happening i certainly don't think they're gonna make like warpcast token deployer or add a transactions tab like i think v two frames have the scope that they need to other apps like interface friends etcetera are like doing an awesome job of picking up this moment and building features that are adding into it like seeing when your friends bought and sold on the on the p and l chart but it doesn't seem like they're gonna go that far on on webcast and i think it's fine i think they can acknowledge this moment and not necessarily have to do that and i don't think they really wanna go that far anyways

41:22Speaker 0

yeah this this actually would have been cool i wonder if maybe recaster or another client or super supercast which is going more so into the on chain direction as well would do something i know supercast has like a little swap component on the side on mobile but i wonder if they would actually do something like this and there's i mean i i don't know if we we went over like the new you know rebrand but

41:50Speaker 0

forecaster index whatever their their ui and they're building a lot of really cool stuff like this it's like much more flushed out than i previously remembered you know all all of the stuff about top tokens that are coming out you go to a page for like degen for example and you see the chart a feed of the cast that are coming through it you know it's very well put together and there is certainly this forecaster economy that is forming in you know one form or another

42:20Speaker 1

totally

42:21Speaker 0

and very very like mature apps being built on top of it as well like who who would have thought it a a year ago today that there'd be these many mature apps even in in just this span of time

42:35Speaker 0

awesome

42:35Speaker 1

my my web three thesis is like you've got the you've got web two which obviously has no financial layer so everyone's trying to add it on and you can you can do that but it just feels much easier to start from scratch with financialization built at the very bottom and just rebuild the internet on top

42:54Speaker 0

yeah and i think many such cases

42:57Speaker 1

yes

42:59Speaker 0

yes one other thing live news that just came in like twenty minutes ago is that dancast that they have this new frames v two introduction page here on docs.farcasterxyz the official page not super long but just another helpful place you wanna go to you know you can see what the standard looks like like for example you know you click the frame here and it opens up the app and this is what the app looks like but it's a lot of those same links we were talking about before in terms of how you build oh it looks like okay it looks like some of that content actually was moved over so you should you should check this out like for example this getting started has a lot of that code that demo code that horacefax had written it seems like it the entire page just filled with it so if you are looking to build frames i would say again just go to either docs.farcaster.xyz or framesv2.com and either of those

43:53Speaker 1

yeah dylan hot hot off the press some a news flash frames v two just got a makeover did you did you notice i think it changed

44:02Speaker 0

wait what

44:03Speaker 1

from the time when you started the show forty three minutes ago go to framesv2.com and it was just reorganized unless it was earlier but before it was just like your video yeah so before it was like here are some videos here are some github repos so now it's a little more friendly to someone who's coming and these all link to the official farcaster docs

44:26Speaker 0

yeah perfect they moved all of it over so it has the resources

44:30Speaker 1

and maybe the rest yeah yeah intro

44:32Speaker 0

so the

44:33Speaker 1

so anyone who wants to get involved start at framesv2.com

44:37Speaker 0

yes yeah this is everything these are all the example projects etcetera it's just yeah if you go to docs.farcaster@xyz and click you know build a frame it's it takes you to frames but you just click on frames v two under and it's all of these four here and i'm sure that they'll change this so that it it takes you to frames v two but pretty easy to find on that site so yeah good good to see that coming in in real time

45:05Speaker 0

but awesome i think those are the main links that we have for this week really appreciate you joining again adrian so much going on i'm sure that next week we'll have even more going on to discuss as well and we hope that everyone has a great rest of their week and continues building if there's anything cool that you're building or have any questions on it whatever just you know feel free to tag me and i'm happy to chat or help whatever just you know really great moment for farcaster so i wanna try and support however i can

45:37Speaker 1

yeah dylan thanks for keeping the hub going i'm loving it i think it's been it's it's very much needed to have kind of developer developer focused content for farcaster so thank you for doing it thanks for having me as a guest host i i joke but i i joke but i do enjoy hanging out and talking about dev stuff

45:58Speaker 0

awesome yes no it's always always great chatting with you hopefully we'll also have some other guests coming in the future but always always great to to chat with you really glad to be able to to run the hub hopefully to to many more and yeah fun to to go through and even have been able to send it to a couple friends like on thanksgiving i was trying to explain to them things like farcaster and also what's going on and there's a couple people who i think were maybe getting some of the ideas and you know hopefully listening to something like this could like we're talking about ways to get someone further on a farcaster maybe maybe that could help too

46:33Speaker 1

yeah how were your thanksgiving conversations by the way about farcaster with your family because i struggled with mine

46:40Speaker 0

i think like i think some people were just more so focused on the meme coin aspect i think some of my other family members it's gonna take them time to get like the entire programmability side of it but i think even though it's not the one thing i wanted to harp on saying different things like there is an a bot account controlled by ai that talks to another ai that makes a token is this like inception that they hadn't really had thought of before and the funny thing is when i had always described farcaster i wanted to have the pitch be about this like interoperable social where your you know your one social account is accessible across all these platforms and it's an economy that you're more in control of instead of big platforms taking all that money but i you know i almost think that these sort of crypto x ai moments are other great moments to like showcase what farcaster is or why it's important because even saying that sentence about like the two ais talked in one another that requires some baseline assumptions that a network is open anyone can have an account on that network and i'm able to kind of like lead with an example first so i do hope that there are more things that at least catch people's eyes so that the way i'm explaining farcaster them is through an example where they like get the assumptions underlying instead of being like well it's a protocol with this aspect and that setup and different from this you know it's like very mouthful

48:16Speaker 1

totally yeah i had a similar conversation someone was just talking to me about like they were like yeah i heard that someone say you know in the future it's just gonna be ai is talking to ais and i'm like yeah duh that's exactly what it's gonna be and they're gonna be long ago knowing collaborating like the whole

48:38Speaker 0

yeah and they already are yeah

48:40Speaker 1

yeah and we're seeing it it's cool

48:42Speaker 0

exactly alright well thank you again everyone really appreciate you for joining in or listening to the recording and we'll be live again next week on december at 10am eastern for the seventh episode of the hub but in the meantime continue building and have a great rest of your day
