For most users, what they say they want in a feed and what they actually do is a textbook example of stated vs. revealed preference.

I call this idea the "feed marketplace" as opposed to "feed-as-a-service" which is what @openrank and others are doing. The challenge building a "choose your algorithm" is that the most interesting feeds are no longer just "algorithms" or fancy SQL queries.

yes, the plan is to make DCs: 1) work well 2) programmable (apps can use them to message users) 3) interoperable (use them in other clients) 4) decentralized we are close to having 1 and starting on 2

Very simple spec for a first cut of programmable DCs. Plan is to basically expose a thin layer on top of internal Warpcast APIs.
