story time on why @dwr.eth is literally my crypto father: CHILDHOOD - early into my crypto startup career, joined farcaster - created safe environment for me to experiment - dan is happy that i'm here ADOLESCENCE - start getting into fights with people on farcaster - black sheep but still here - dan writes check into unlonely, one of the earliest supporters, believes in me TEENAGE YEARS - unlonely rises - ego grows - rejection of some of dan's principals and teachings around startups and crypto - some would say problematic behaviors develop - dramatic breakup (leave for solana) with no intentions of coming back - dad is angry and disappointed - don't talk for a bit ADULT LIFE - independence is good, freeing, difficult, scary - still feel guilt, miss farcaster family a bit, miss dad - twitter account gets suspended, dan immediately reaches out to help - mad respect for him - prodigal son has returned difference in beliefs are still there. solana better. but growing as adult. respect goes deep.

very soon we will cancel all recurring subscriptions to @super will take a short term revenue hit but i'm confident it is the right way forward why? - everyone hates getting a random recurring receipt for shit they didnt use - lost of customer support problems to solve when people accidentally subscribe too many times or they lost access to the app while paying - recurring $10/mo massively undercharges whales and is very predatory to people for who $10/mo is a lot of money ideally: - we don't charge anyone who didn't get value from the app and $10 really matters to them - we allow wealthy members to spend infinite $$$ on @super (like legend @wake who paid for 5 years of membership ahead) we have some great ideas, cancelling the recurring sub is first step to implement them
