Today’s Agenda: -Wake up. -💩 -Eat half my breakfast, then insist the second half be jazzed up. -Check to make sure all my toys are where I left them. -Get excited/overwhelmed by said toys (read: bite-y). -Nap. -Lunch. -Plan election campaign / learn unfortunate news about Bertram. -Chewy delivery! Contents: a new bed, more of the same kibble, a few small bags with unknown contents, and a harness that, unfortunately, came in a size L instead of XS and is roughly the size of my entire body. -💩 -Nap. -Inspect new bed thoroughly. Suspicious smell, but promising floofness. -Learn a new skill: Place. I go to my new bed and stay there until released. See attached. -Nap. Overall, a productive day so far. I've heard rumors from the higher-ups about a walk later, probably dinner, and my favorite time of day. Something the rents call “gremlin hour” (read: bite-y).

One of the challenges I've had building the GM Farcaster AI bot is getting it to have a back-and-forth conversation on Farcaster with a user in a natural way, just like you and I would :) The API is serverless and stateless, so every time the bot is tagged, it has no awareness or memory of being tagged before. My first attempt to give the bot awareness of ongoing conversations was by building a recursive function that recreated the chat history between the bot and the user. I then passed this history into the prompt as "conversation history." I later switched to using the new Neynar API, which provides a conversation summary. This change simplified my code and broadened the bot’s awareness to include comments from other users in the thread, not just the direct back-and-forth. It's working OK, but it's not great. Yesterday, I learned there might be a better approach by using the "messages" array in the GPT API instead of the "jam everything into a massive prompt" method.
Cast search just got another big upgrade: algorithmic sorting! 🦾 This new sort option finds relevant casts sorted by recent engagement and uses the Neynar score to filter spam. As always, let us know if you have questions or feedback! 🪐 https://docs.neynar.com/reference/search-casts
