even the title of the episode says wednesday april 29

0:22Speaker 0

i didn't even realize that it's tuesday april 29 but anyway we're gonna do our little intro and we will be back in fifty five seconds

and thank you to our premier partner octant be sure to check out all the latest at octant.app and mint your d benson and dragons cards at highlight.xyz.gmfarcaster it is tuesday april 29 and you are here with now to drop in adrianne for twenty nine minutes of farcaster news to start your day just tweeting right now and getting this out there

1:50Speaker 0

alrighty and we are live totally throwing everybody off today because it's not the same day and we're starting a little late and yeah we're just a little bit of a mess because we're packing and getting ready to go to far con which is pretty much what we're going to talk about today

2:05Speaker 1

it's far con week

2:07Speaker 0

it's far con week and i my brain is overloaded so we're very excited though and nice gm from octon

2:20Speaker 0

'1 hundred good mornings versus one gm there you go the gm is the thing

2:27Speaker 1

do you know what the gorilla thing is

2:29Speaker 0

i have no idea i haven't seen this so i don't know how i missed it

2:34Speaker 1

it's have on twitter it's the would you rather be i think it's like would you rather oh no is it a is it like a can a hundred men fend off one gorilla with their hands type you know when those things take over and then everyone has to discuss but i'm not actually perpetually online believe it or not so i caught glimpses of okay yes i do have a

2:59Speaker 0

to be honest i

3:01Speaker 1

am sorry i say online as twitter anyway so true i like i love to see octant leaning into the meta because it's cute

3:12Speaker 0

the meta i love it also and i forgot to grab that link but they have a new card new octon card let me grab it really quick and we did sponsor some mints yesterday but it might be i'm sure they're gone by now but look for that on highlight.xyz and it's been really fun collecting them so i'm having a blast with it but i can't wait to see what we do next with the octant d gens and dragons cards and i'm hoping that at farcon we actually get a here we go i think i hope we actually get the physical cards that would make me really happy so that's what i'm hoping for but we'll see i'm trying to i'm trying to finagle some so this is the latest that you can get at highlight xyz and i recommend don't even try the frame because it's an old school frame and it's been a little wonky so just click on this and go right to the highlight website and it's available for one week only also wanted to mention this ethereum's biggest upgrade by number of eips is coming in hot but no one's talking about what happens after pektra don't worry dragons we've got you we're bringing in the eth eth cat herders i've i'm like i have to say this right because i know i'm gonna mess it up eth cat herders to break it all down then for a little fun we're going to test your knowledge and give you all a chance to win some glm which is the octant token so join us tomorrow at 5pm utc for dragon's den cat herder style so go check that out that'll be really fun and all the all the fun things that octon's doing there's so many things going on so go check that out so gm to them and moving on one more quick thing before we dive into all the news and a lot of farcon news at that cast out is back and we are running cast out little island starting may 12 '8 tribes will compete to outwit outplay and outcast until there's one tribe left standing this survivor inspired game happens all in the farquest ecosystem over the course of nine days with the winning tribe competing individually in the last challenge and if you want to put a tribe together and join the game now is the time to get your applications in and next week we'll be reaching out and finalizing all those tribes there's a form here that you can fill out or i guess we're calling it megaphone now and let me tell you there was some activity yesterday there was some activity z willow and crew degen veteran there's a whole bunch that have already got one tribe together there's another one forming because there were some other people who came into the conversation so i'm getting excited i'm seeing a lot of activity and i'm very excited so here we go get get in there it's gonna be fun all right some other big news and i noticed this last night when i was on my computer i was like oh this is interesting there's a new piece of real estate this this thing over here we've been waiting for is now here and on this side of the screen i'm going to try and jump into one and make sure i can show it to you but also the wallet so there's a web wallet at the bottom and then also the mini apps open up on the right hand side within there so still a little glitchy but it's there and it's pretty cool and let me see if i can open up one and have it look good because we need to do a full screen oh i'll do the rewards one there we go and let me pull it up on full screen so you guys can see but it is pretty pretty cool those are my current points not the amount of money in my wallet

7:29Speaker 0

so just to be just to be clear those are my reward points like i said it's still a little funky like if you're using if you're using your mouse sometimes it doesn't quite scroll smoothly things like that by the way burtwurst is the number one spot how about that we'll just say

7:48Speaker 1

as he should be

7:50Speaker 0

i'm way down today i'm way down here i've been busy and then you have the wallet so the wallet is right below you do have to log in and confirm i'm not going to do that right now but you it's it's there it works i did a swap yesterday and it's pretty cool so there you go it's here so now there is a wallet on web a web warplet if you will and you can open your mini apps right on there so pretty cool alright i have to get back to my regular screen here we go so that's that was cool to see so a little bit more for the web a little bit of love for the web and also this from daniel i am lucky and honored to work with nba programmers the best of the best ash hoatz i can never say that sloke and deodad are behind the web wallet they built it in a week i've never seen something like it so very cool congrats it was pretty impressive and this had just rolled out twenty hours ago we're getting warplet ready for web interested in beta testing and then they just skipped the beta testing apparently

9:09Speaker 1

is that right

9:09Speaker 0

i don't know either that

9:11Speaker 1

or i i don't think i see mine

9:13Speaker 0

you don't see yours oh okay i thought it was i thought they okay i wasn't sure i honestly wasn't sure

9:20Speaker 1

i have no i have no okay

9:22Speaker 0

so we are in beta test okay so i'm in beta test then yeah alright well it's working it's working well there's a few little quirky things like there's something that says lock wallet except it doesn't explain what that means i was like what does lock wallet mean does it just mean like in what way so i just needed more explanation but it's you can swap you can do all the things so it seems to be working well alrighty then never mind so we're rolling out to i guess it only went out to 100 users i kept seeing screenshots with people having it so i thought it rolled out to more but i guess not alrighty but very cool and go check that out go check it out and see if you have the the warplet and if the mini apps are opening for you on the side are the mini apps opening for you on the web or no i don't know if that's connected with wallet or not

10:14Speaker 1

let's see no it's still opening center screen so i don't have that

10:21Speaker 0

so you don't have that side that side real estate okay so they did only roll it out to testers okay never mind it looks cool i didn't realize it was special i did say i would test but i didn't wasn't sure if it went out wider because i was seeing a lot of screenshots of it okay this from dwr dottieth fallacies in building decentralized social protocols platforms in crypto okay so there was a lot of chatter i should preface this a little bit there was a lot of different discussions happening around censorship and a whole bunch of other things so let's just dive into this one and then we'll jump to the next convo fallacies in building decentralized social protocols platforms and crypto this is from dwr one it has to be financialized two everything should be on chain three the protocol should avoid having an official client four verifying a user as human makes them interesting and valuable dan you're gonna get it for that one five it must work with all existing standards and other protocols six funding developers proactively and directly is the key to growth seven most users care about how decentralized it is whether it's open source and generally esoteric hypotheticals about the future again these are fallacies so in other words he does not think these things are true what most users care about is is is it interesting to use right now what most developers care about one are there valuable users and two can i build something that gets access to said users i e decent enough apis so

12:05Speaker 0

but what okay wait a minute there's a little bit more hold on there's more nuanced all the above but the seven points above have all been criticism of farcaster at one point or another yesterday that's not to say yesterday is my commentary that's not to say you can't iterate and work towards some of the above but focus on building for users and most importantly getting them to stick around and then developers is rare okay

12:39Speaker 0

thoughts i'm gonna turn it to you for a second while i take a sip of water

12:45Speaker 1

let's see where to begin i think jesse may have some words with number two but that's just me being that's just me being funny

12:55Speaker 0

yeah do you mind

12:56Speaker 1

every number two is everything should be on jane okay yeah yeah and jesse's in as everything as a coin arc okay

13:04Speaker 0

yeah

13:05Speaker 1

so

13:10Speaker 1

oh i don't know is it early on like the early users of farcasters farcaster users i think we're drawn because we care about decentralization like we and

13:22Speaker 1

and dan's emphasis and kind of like approach for building farcaster is like it has to be a consumer app right and when you're building consumer crypto rules are different and i think it's been really difficult for them to figure out how do you stay true to decentralization principles but build a protocol where you're getting normal people to use it

13:47Speaker 0

yeah

13:48Speaker 1

and it's really difficult and i'm kind of continuing to be just in awe of like the consistency over years and just kind of how do you thread that needle between staying true i mean this is the whole sufficiently decentralized i i think from like the beginning essay that we wrote

14:08Speaker 0

right yes

14:09Speaker 1

which is you we're gonna compromise on some decentralization it's not it's not

14:15Speaker 0

right

14:15Speaker 1

fully decentralized not everything is decentralized not everything is on on on blockchain but where you know where are we gonna have some trade offs so right it's just it's interesting i appreciate that he's sharing i think i i don't find anything super

14:32Speaker 0

controversial controversial yeah

14:35Speaker 1

in in what he's sharing but it's interesting

14:38Speaker 0

yeah my only thing was

14:42Speaker 0

we and we've had these discussions before about the spam and human spam versus bot spam versus airdrop farmer spam and there there are different aspects to these things but sometimes you have folks who can shift their behavior and become very valuable to the protocol because they're just coming in with a different approach or they're you know i could say that what's not interesting to me is people who come in and act like it's twitter like i don't want that vibe and and you know what i mean by that

15:19Speaker 1

i know exactly what

15:20Speaker 0

you so so there's you know like that but that doesn't mean it's not interesting to somebody else like somebody else might really appreciate that vibe so it's very that's the part that i think is a little nuanced here but i and i agree i think that even in a lot of areas of crypto we talk about decentralization and it's an important value but when you when the trade off is speed or access or whatever sometimes people like don't think that's as important as they thought it was originally so

15:54Speaker 1

and solving for is it interesting to use right now it's a very personal decision

16:00Speaker 0

yeah

16:00Speaker 1

so easy when you've got a small group chat monolithic culture people tend to have find the same things interesting the larger the network gets the harder it is to say what is interesting

16:12Speaker 0

yeah totally because it's it's what's interesting is different to everyone i wanna jump back to one quick thing before we move forward is kyle patrick said lock wallet remove access to your warplit to that desktop what i was trying to understand is what what does that mean exactly like what is it doing in the background and does it lock it for me also on app or is it just on web so i just wanted a little more insight on that from the technical

16:40Speaker 1

side of it yeah

16:41Speaker 0

and i

16:41Speaker 1

guess the lock wallet is useful if you take a time machine to 02/2002 and go into an internet cafe

16:47Speaker 0

right

16:47Speaker 1

you're in a pub public space and you you know you

16:51Speaker 0

yeah i could definitely see the use case for it i was just trying to understand from the tech side like what is it doing and like does it lock me out for a certain amount of time there's just no info there i just need a little like hover over it tell me things and then i'm you know but i do think it's obviously a useful a useful thing so i just wanted to to call that out because i saw that

17:15Speaker 1

well i wouldn't know because i'm not in the beta i'm just a just a normal businessman

17:19Speaker 0

i was like oh they rolled it out to everybody i'm not touching screenshots and i'm like oh they did no they didn't well all you had to do is literally say me i think that was like i'll try it yeah there you go okay and one more big discussion point yesterday on the timeline how to think about censorship on a decentralized social network this is also from dan the protocol should aim to be like bitcoin and ethereum self hosted clients are free to have zero censorship in other words if you're hosting your own client you're making your own rules hosted clients will have some level of censorship likely too aggressive of a word in most cases probably moderation is probably the better term moderating it moderating content can use algorithm and or moderation probably less than the average web2 purely centralized platform mac censorship is going to be on someone else's website e g a blog comment where they are free to delete it completely so there was a lot of discussion about nerfing accounts at the protocol level and this was related to nerfing at the warp cast level so this is from horse facts and this is related warp cast nerfs accounts that impersonate public figures and brands post malicious links and illegal content or otherwise violate warp cast terms of service we only nerf accounts that are actively harmful this account was nerfed for impersonation it stole the mathcast brand lodged a fake token and tried to pump it sounds like a good good one to good one to nerve to me yeah that's not we don't want that and then i

19:10Speaker 1

mean check three boxes like if you only

19:13Speaker 0

all you had to do was one of those if you only had to do one of those we would have done that nerves are never and this is also from horse facts nerves are never related to account quality they are a safety tool used to limit actively harmful accounts you can read more about nurbs here there is information on the warped cast notion so that led to discussions about doing that at the protocol level and that's what is not currently being done is it's only being done at the client level so letting the clients make those choices and decisions and there's discussion over whether or not that is the right approach so thoughts

19:57Speaker 1

oh i may i'm i'm a i am on board with the the protocol should not censor period

20:05Speaker 0

okay

20:05Speaker 1

like i don't ever see a case because i think from a censorship perspective there is zero way to programmatically algorithmically determine what should or shouldn't be censored

20:20Speaker 0

yeah it always has to put them down to a human making it making the call

20:23Speaker 1

that's what blockchains that's what algorithms that's what code is really good at for codifying roles that shouldn't be changed censorship is dynamic it changes with culture it's constant you're constantly chasing you're trying to build something for the globe people have different definitions of what is safe harmful malicious whatever people should be free to like i i mean one i just i'm i'm i believe in free speech and if you're building right so

20:56Speaker 0

yeah people should be able to communicate

21:00Speaker 1

yeah and we just i just don't trust any one person to define the roles

21:04Speaker 0

and then it comes into like freedom of speech versus freedom of reach you know so that that's where the warp cast or the i don't know it's gonna get confusing more confusing but also not confusing the client level nerfing makes a lot of sense and then so here's just one thought i've had from a legal perspective there are some

21:31Speaker 0

rules around what is allowed and not allowed on various platforms and what your level of responsibility is in terms of moderation so there could be some things that do need to be nerfed at the protocol level if they reach a certain type of certain type of content for example child pornography like that's an easy one that probably needs to be nerfed at the protocol level in my mind because there may be some legal consequences that could stem back to merkle so that's the only thing

22:05Speaker 1

because the protocol is owned by a corporation

22:08Speaker 0

yeah yeah i think there's i think it's kind of

22:12Speaker 1

it's kind of tricky

22:14Speaker 0

yeah yeah it's kind of tricky so there could be some things and this again it's gonna be those kind of extremes that may have to be dealt with at a protocol level but i'm i know again i'm sure that they have attorneys that they who are more versed in this particular area of law that can speak to that issue better but just something that that popped in my mind that there might be certain types of content but also but i think you know i was listening to hester peirce talk about this on unchained and her approach in general to regulation and and i think that i i liked her and i think this kind of applies and is related in that your last choice should be regulation and law like ideally you wanna set norms and culture and all of that so that you don't have to go there or set guidelines or you know find other ways to get there and if and if you think about free speech like that's the ideal right that you get it to a point where it's like you know these are the norms here's what's acceptable don't do this where it doesn't have to come from top down it's more of a totally bottom up yeah is ideal but that doesn't always work there's just you know you're always going to have those occasional bad actors that are just you know on the dangerous side so what are you going to do yeah but it's those kinds of scenarios anyway that's just sort of my my two cents on that

23:50Speaker 1

yeah totally agree and i think i wasn't even thinking and by the way i am not equipped to talk about this at a technical level in terms of like who actually owns the protocol today and how that's governed and and whatnot like in terms of yeah and number two on a legal level so yeah i could i could bullshit

24:09Speaker 0

i think there's also comment

24:10Speaker 1

but it's like but it's also been a but i

24:13Speaker 0

guess yeah it's still it's still a new you know you've got new things that haven't fully been tested in courts of law but there are similar things with the internet that have been pretty well litigated so you can find some guidance there yeah what

24:33Speaker 0

yeah someone has to pay taxes on protocol rev yeah there you go so that would be the nexus from a legal perspective at this point unless that gets somehow unless that gets somehow

24:49Speaker 0

autonomously or automatically distributed in some way that they don't have to touch it but distributed in some way that they don't have to touch it but yeah yep so there's something something there yeah so i think there's just i think it's just an interesting point that if as you scale to a certain level becomes a bigger concern also will be interesting this is a good question for someone this week like i don't i don't know how much i'm supposed to say coinbase wallet and content and as as a client like are they act are they going to be acting as a client in regards to farcaster and what kind of does what are their terms of service and what kind of approach will they take to nerfing and things like that and that's a good question for us to maybe ask somebody later this week so there we go

25:47Speaker 1

yes

25:50Speaker 1

and coinbase wallet has a lot of resources

25:54Speaker 0

yeah

25:55Speaker 1

and

25:58Speaker 1

i'm no doubt they're they've already thought about this and have policies and code and all of that however i also believe there's tons of surface area that hasn't been touched and won't be touched until we actually kind of walk through that door and see it so not just kind of how they're thinking about it today but how does the landscape change over the next six months three months two months as yeah

26:19Speaker 0

yeah i mean and you already see the differences between the protocol and the and the client level with number of accounts that are following

26:26Speaker 1

you

26:27Speaker 0

like my i double the number at this point now on the protocol level than i do at the warp cast level at the client level so and that's coming from their choices in terms of spam labels and things like that so yeah so just you know interesting things interesting from like a you know intellectual discussion as well a lot of this we don't know for sure in practicality yet but it'll be interesting as as we go along especially coming up so there you go but it was a it was an interesting discussion i'm sure more will be had moving on we got to move on to this it's far con week baby i feel giddy this is from jack i love this little gif here of the city which i feel like i'm not gonna see any of sure you all have no time to see any of the city i'm gonna see a lot of williamsburg that's about it but very exciting dwr dan said reply if you'll be in new york this week so if you wanna see who's gonna be there just scroll through this little little list here and you'll see all the folks who are heading that way whether they're going to far con or not or if they're going to be just you know in the area or what have you because there's a lot of people who aren't going to the summit but they're gonna be going to a lot of the side events this is helpful from six while in brooklyn for far con you may run into any of these four men here's a handy tool for remembering who's who presenting my latest research in decentralized identity the cameron colin armstrong johnson matrix featuring colin cameron cojo and brooklyn nets small forward cameron johnson so i don't know why this just cracked

28:19Speaker 1

me up this is so good

28:22Speaker 0

it's cracked me up six i don't know this one really do you

28:24Speaker 1

remember when he posted it last year

28:27Speaker 0

i don't i totally forgot about this completely forgot about this but then when it popped back up i'm like oh my god this is perfect yes they all will be

28:35Speaker 1

i will say i now know i now am really proud that i know exactly the difference between the collins and the camerons

28:43Speaker 0

i do as well yes and also i can recognize them from pfp

28:49Speaker 1

yes don't ever change i'm like i have you come around are you like the never change your pfp camp

28:54Speaker 0

yes and the reason is branding more so for me is that when you start playing around with it then you kind of lose your brand identity a little bit so at this point i feel like two things one it's my brand identity two from a safety perspective when you start moving around then people like i don't know there's some issues there so but yeah i how about you you've never really changed it either i don't think

29:21Speaker 1

at my god i did it like before you

29:25Speaker 0

know kind of thing

29:26Speaker 1

i don't even know if i've done oh yeah maybe once or twice before farcon uno the beta we all changed our pfp to the arch like the farcon like there was like a farcon graphic so i did that

29:39Speaker 0

once i changed

29:41Speaker 1

it to a i changed it to a purple square once to for purple dao

29:45Speaker 0

i think i did that too

29:47Speaker 1

and that is it and i thought about like i chose my philosophical fox as my pfp and it's really hard to change it now like it has kind of become i hate hate hate the idea of brand identity for human beings and the reality you don't okay so the reality is i got

30:08Speaker 0

you're always you're always your brand like you you just are so

30:13Speaker 1

in yeah i know i mean i know it is i know it's a real thing so i can get it i just hate to say it out loud

30:21Speaker 0

yes but symbio so symbio symbiotech said you went red professor yes but it was over it was like a layer over my pfp it was like red over my regular yeah

30:30Speaker 1

exactivation for paint the timeline red right yeah but i have i don't think i wanna change mine now i did like i wanna say early in my like early thirties i had a mentor come up to me once she wasn't even a mentor she was one of those people who were like hey you need a mentor i'm gonna tell you something and do you ever get those like they volunteer to be your mentor

30:54Speaker 0

no no i've never gotten one of those

30:56Speaker 1

honestly god bless

30:57Speaker 0

her scare people too much

30:59Speaker 1

i had one of those like hey

31:01Speaker 0

that's awesome though honestly

31:03Speaker 1

yeah like hey i'm gonna be your mentor and she was like the you are a brand you need to own it everything you do is you know and this is in a very corporate environment and i listened to her and i when you internalize it like there's certain things you could apply and like boom could like climb that ladder so much easier like it's it's real it's also just like i also can at the same time don't love the idea of like thinking of myself as a brand

31:36Speaker 0

i know but it's it's it's there whether you want it to be or not

31:41Speaker 1

totally and then that's what i'm saying it's there whether you want it to be and then do you wanna control that right like do you wanna own your narrative or do you want someone else to do

31:49Speaker 0

it with you exactly so and at this point like i i feel like i'm very connected with my pfp that it it it it if someone else put the same one on you you're gonna think of me like it's there's certain aspects of it that you're gonna think of me so it's too too connected at this point for me to change it somebody actually there was a funny thing happening to me what's that is that me

32:14Speaker 1

do you hear a noise yeah

32:15Speaker 0

is that on you that was on you it was adrianne it

32:21Speaker 0

was adrian

32:24Speaker 1

i heard your background noise so loud in our green room today and i wonder if streamyard did something to pick up back your background noises

32:30Speaker 0

maybe we have something like echo thing that we need to turn off i don't know

32:33Speaker 1

is a truck outside on mute

32:35Speaker 0

oh that's weird yeah usually i've never i've never heard it something happened so oh so there was there was a recent funny thing in nouns there's a new trait head trait called the sock it's a sock it's a sock so everyone was changing their pfps to socks and i'm like no i'm not changing i'm not doing it anywhere they're like you're not gonna change it in the discord server i said no i'm not but i think it's funny and it's fun and you know how bad it suck game suck game but yeah i was like no not changing it it's just too much me now even i didn't even change it to the flamingo once i finally got my flamingo now anyway anyway moving on speaking of branding

33:17Speaker 0

cameron has been posting these little sneak peeks of this fun little keychains and like arch things and i just keep every time posting the take my money meme every time he every time he posts one of these so i'm looking forward to snagging a couple of these and i'm like how much how much you want he's like i think i'm gonna have to sell them i'm like i don't care just tell me like i want i want them so cameron i'm looking for you tonight i want i mean tomorrow i want them and i can't wait to to to see them also lots of packing lists happening right now for far con so this from colin armstrong so you see where i went by the way you see how i lined these up we got we got a cameron we've got a colin we don't have a coachella but we'll see you we'll see you there coachella packing list for farcon toast facers aranette co2 monitor fredegans entire discography cd carter packing list for farcon toe socks clinker hat anything else i'm missing that's what started it you had a good addition don't forget to pack your claritin this is actually useful that's very mom it's very mom moment claritin zyrtec purple attire pfp costume phone chargers absolutely always helpful and then rish i'm only bringing a bag of kiwis with the skin on so he's og and then of course i am bringing goggles and lots of them so if you see me and you do not have a pair of these come find me you will have some because i will have lots i will have lots with me the whole time

34:58Speaker 1

there are yeah a lot of these were jokes but in if you have never been to a farcaster event and you're not sure sure like you can never go wrong with purple

35:06Speaker 0

you can never go wrong with purple just just wear purple valentine oh very nice that purple she's rocking the purple i love it i haven't done mine yet this from antimo how cute how cute is this very cute cute little arch love it this from gramajo gm all scavenger hunt is now open for those in nyc a little earlier so you can already start your scavenger hunt shout out to the poap team especially cardno and congrats to sandy forward for being the first one to collect wow he's already on it astute observers have noticed a tenth poap the tenth poap will be me find me at farcon and you can win a prize this is not needed to get the original prizes this is an add on poap and prize money so very cool this is fun this is a scavenger hunt sponsored by little nouns so all over the brooklyn area via poaps and via the using the poap there's a locator thing now so that's gonna be i just saw this i couldn't see it it was covered that's that's funny i'm looking forward to seeing people eat kiwi skins on while wearing goggles yes yes we will make that happen so this is gonna be really fun so start your scavenger hunt now randomero not dan romero but rand d'amaro if we're getting a notification because you cast about farcon then you probably shouldn't be going to farcon cast it for the first time in a while immediately unfollowed that was pretty funny that's not from dan that was from ran just to be clear

36:45Speaker 1

just to

36:46Speaker 0

be very clear and then jimmy no rules reply if you won't be in new york this week so for those who are feeling left out here you go you can just pop

36:56Speaker 1

okay what i wanna know is how people who are not gonna be in new york feel because i've gotten the like oh i don't wanna know anything about far con you have your fun and we don't wanna know about it and on the other hand i've also gotten like please post lots of pictures because we wanna experience it from afar

37:12Speaker 0

so yeah you can also just mute the word far con like you know pro tip

37:20Speaker 1

you can unfollow people for the week

37:21Speaker 0

i wasn't gonna go there

37:23Speaker 1

i don't care if i'm like casting too much just unfollow me i don't care

37:27Speaker 0

i wasn't gonna say that that's why i was like you can mute the word you don't have to unfollow you could just mute the word far gone and you're you're gonna reduce a lot of your timeline for the next week you can just

37:38Speaker 1

scroll a little faster and go like there's many things go outside and get some fresh air i don't know

37:43Speaker 0

it's like there's many there's many options in other words what we're trying to say is this is all we're gonna be talking about for the rest of the week

37:50Speaker 1

yeah sorry

37:51Speaker 0

a couple more things before we only talk about that for the rest of the week this is from tody hawk betterment spin win mint spin and win introducing better way to support on chain creators by gamifying the process of collecting their content presave the mini app below to be notified of the first game tomorrow and read on for a brief thread about the app and companion clanker token so the big thing i let me just read a little bit of this i'm so excited to be launching a new project on base today that we've been building with my friend netknows our very first farcaster mini app built by creators for creators our bespoke content casino will open for just two hours a day starting tomorrow which is today featuring a different on chain creator and a different meme coin prize pool every day each edition will get you one free ticket to spin the wheel of betterment where you can win up to $100 extra wager in meme coins like runner clinker clank fun and more think of it like reimagining of creator supporting mint incentive protocols like boost and layer three but all packed into a midi app with a little extra dgen energy baked in so there you go so there's also a token that goes with this you can take a look at the thread but we will have one of our pods one of our our episodes our episode with dan will be part of this on i believe it's thursday ours is coming today is going to be an episode by rachel rachel wilkins for good news studio with i think it's her interview with luca netz is going to be the one so you can collect that essentially you go into the app you collect the episode and then you earn a spin on the wheel and you can you can win some some prizes so little experiment in supporting creators this from brad q oh i really feel like i need to wait a minute i showed the wrong one let me show i think it's this one i want to show the actual frame there we go so the first deal stack said my name nanar score is 0.99 click to find out yours cool mini app by brian ethier so you click on this and you get your nanar score and let's see if mine is still what it was yes it is

40:13Speaker 0

just wanna you're muted you're muted i didn't mute her either it wasn't me

40:23Speaker 1

look at that professor is demoing her score because she wants to show a frame and it just happens to be a perfect score

40:31Speaker 0

happens to me

40:33Speaker 1

she's like i don't know i don't know what my score is gonna be i don't know

40:37Speaker 0

i don't know yeah let me save that i'll save that frame because i might want it later so this was really funny the hold on now i'm all covered here this is brad q my neynar score is point nine seven and it asked me if i want to round up to a dollar for charity

40:55Speaker 1

that

40:55Speaker 0

was a good one brad q

40:56Speaker 1

that was funny

40:57Speaker 0

tldr my neynar score is point nine seven and i feel like a stable coin that is depegged so apparently one is one is the magic number i i was like i don't know if one is good and they're like yeah it's a perfect score i'm like oh and then warp cast admin my name and our score is 1.12 to find out yours

41:20Speaker 0

that's not possible

41:22Speaker 1

warp cast admin is a funny

41:26Speaker 0

he is

41:27Speaker 1

really funny nice troll

41:29Speaker 0

we we love you voradouch

41:31Speaker 1

like the friendly troll but still don't believe anything he ever posts

41:37Speaker 0

and then priyanka had commented something about hers was point nine nine and it really bothered her so i did send you in there to to let her know that what what about the neynar score adrienne

41:48Speaker 1

it's not your worth and i'm gonna say i got point nine nine i was feeling good i was like damn i and then i saw you got a one and then i felt shitty about myself even though i love you and then i realized oh my god this is like people there's people who have point sixes there's people who have point and then i was like okay i feel better because at least i'm not there then i check myself and i'm like here i am comparing myself to other people based on someone's stupid arbitrary score none of it

42:17Speaker 0

none of it matters

42:19Speaker 1

irl okay

42:20Speaker 0

none of it none of it

42:21Speaker 1

matters matters

42:22Speaker 0

but also i do i have no idea how it's even determined i literally have no idea like the fact that you have how

42:29Speaker 1

good of a person you are and

42:34Speaker 0

how good of a person just how good of a human being you are

42:37Speaker 1

it's just like your work it's just like are you good or not

42:40Speaker 0

and if

42:40Speaker 1

you're not one you're not good no i'm just kidding look it's gonna be dynamic it's changing we've seen this it's one score there's other types of

42:50Speaker 0

it's essentially whether or not you're a trusted account but i'm just not sure what the what the inputs are i guess is my okay

42:58Speaker 1

is my ramsey envy is a perfectly normal i'm not human and you should know this i am above i'm above these human emotions like envy and i never compare myself to other people and i'm just trying to be a better human being every day i'm just trying to be a better adrian today than i was yesterday

43:19Speaker 0

exactly and we're all just trying to be better

43:21Speaker 1

rish and manan are not gonna tell me how to feel about myself

43:25Speaker 0

i'm just trying to be a better borodouch

43:30Speaker 0

moving on this is from maneri two thousand people tuned in to a live session to learn how to make mini apps for coinbase wallet probably nothing so this was a build on base workshop that they held with zoe inari dealstack for base and amazing that you had that many folks pop in very exciting a little bit more here from monary building in mini app here are some best practices to make sure it works well in coinbase wallet authenticate only when needed use wallet auth for secure sessions for sending funds default to the wallet context address or let the users choose where to receive always use official sdk actions instead of hard coded deep links fill out metadata hero image subtitle etcetera for better discovery so take a look at this this post from inari for more details if you are building coinbase wallet mini apps also when i was doing i created something in o'hara yesterday which i forgot i think i forgot to share that and i just did a little slide puzzle just to try something and there was an option to use the the on chain kit within there so there's a lot of features within the ohera ai that we talked about yesterday like in the settings and configurations so if you're if you're not a dev if you're like you've no idea but you're like i have this idea for mini app go play around with ohera at i it's worth it because it's you know you can at least you might get something it might get it to to do something whereas it's

45:11Speaker 1

really cool

45:12Speaker 0

yeah and so there was a lot of yeah there was a lot of cool features in there so it was interesting i forgot to post though i mean i forgot to share it here speaking of mini apps send yourself a dollar get a raffle ticket when dev rewards hit wednesday one winner gets 20% of the app's winnings live raffle to get winner this was kind of brilliant it took me a minute i was like why do i want to send myself a dollar because it's a transaction and transactions determine the frame rewards the dev rewards for many apps so i was like oh what an interesting idea so we'll see how it goes but i mean it's pretty cool so interesting idea there jc 4 p this from mbr when in doubt sumo barcaster activity sure looks like most tokens in existence yes but i'm curious like i was curious on this data like where is this like this is peak dgen i'm thinking and then we've been kind of settling down ever since but also is this tracking protocol or warp cast that's the part i wasn't sure so i wasn't sure if it was taking out the counts that were that were spam labeled or not oh i don't know i'm not sure

46:39Speaker 1

i assumed protocol level like just like cash

46:43Speaker 0

i don't know too but i'm not sure

46:45Speaker 1

i'm really

46:45Speaker 0

not sure so if anyone has more i'll have to ask mbr but if anybody knows in the chat let us know yeah did anyone hear that sound yes it's adrianne's having some some issues

46:57Speaker 1

alright i'm gonna this is we're almost done

46:59Speaker 0

realize there's

47:01Speaker 1

there's someone mowing the lawn outside so oh that's what it is like trucks and stuff and alright so let's try something i'm gonna reduce my background noise which i've never needed to do before but there's a setting

47:14Speaker 0

so there we go alright we'll try that

47:18Speaker 1

oh matt

47:19Speaker 0

by the way matt said genuine question why do toe spacers come up on my feed here all the time and you had a nice explanation here so we will share because i should have put this close to colin's packing list where you said toastbasers i think it was yeah back when the network was much smaller and felt like one big group chat we would see random topics take over the feed and become memes on their own that wasn't even that long ago irc hackers probably started the toast spacer discourse casting about the health benefits people started casting screenshots of ordering them and picks when they arrived and feed picks it got out of hand aunts

47:58Speaker 0

chose or forever etched our memory yeah you didn't miss anything and then yes i and it's this is for keckers i usually talked about them for health the subsequent feed picks made them i mean so there you go if you're wondering what those toast pacers are

48:13Speaker 1

shout out gmfc one zero one our ai bot who did nail that who got it on the second on its second attempt so if you i first asked about i had tried to pull because we obviously we covered it in our show so i asked our bot to try to pull up the backstory it did not i probed it again with a different prompt and not only did it find it so if you click show yeah if you click through right yeah to its response i added feet pics into my like to try to

48:45Speaker 0

get it to find the right one

48:46Speaker 1

because the toastspacer wasn't enough it's like searching that's what it searched on

48:50Speaker 0

oh my god

48:52Speaker 1

so i changed my prompt to include feet picks and toe spacers and it found the transcript it talked about it misspelled keckers because that's just in our transcript

49:03Speaker 0

understandable yeah

49:06Speaker 1

and if you click on the youtube link it does link to our episode where we talk where you actually go through the different casts and talk about it so people can do it so well done bot good good little bot

49:19Speaker 0

getting so much better every day

49:21Speaker 1

yes tocrypto asked about the token so someone launched a token from i don't know from toe which i completely forgot about and the bot was able to correctly

49:34Speaker 0

did it find out it was kia yeah it does say it yeah it's down here

49:38Speaker 1

and did you remember that

49:39Speaker 0

yeah i knew it was kia okay i just didn't see his question yeah it was kia yeah and he created the channel too

49:46Speaker 1

okay

49:47Speaker 0

yeah he did both

49:49Speaker 1

okay this is why the bot is way more valuable to me because i'm brain dead don't remember a thing thank god we have our

49:56Speaker 0

forecast our

49:57Speaker 1

time forecaster time capsule yeah i love the story

50:01Speaker 0

it's getting great it's really it's really coming along it's very impressive so there you go ask the bot it might know okay a couple more quick things this from phil amp anyone amp so fun lets you buy likes and recasts from your followers in addition to boosting your own casts you can also paste warped cast url to boost someone else's cast this is great for brands or founders who want to boost content for their product pages or customers so i thought that was a really cool feature and so i posted this and said you guys can feel free to to boost us if you want and somebody started like just recasting my actual cast and i'm like no that's not what that was just joking but i do think that's pretty cool so if we have something i think i did that with the gm forecasters cast of a paragraph our weekly paragraph or something like that so yeah that's pretty cool so good to know this was cool to see gm forecaster is happy hanging in the two four and five sorry three four and five spots right behind good news show so that was pretty cool yesterday on the trending on pods.media it was good news show one and two and then gm forecaster three four five so love seeing that

51:24Speaker 1

yeah so thank you everyone who collects our episodes

51:26Speaker 0

thank you we love you also yesterday i did add some degen reward to that so if you collected might still be there yesterday's show and i'll do the same for today's if you catch it in time you might get 80% back in degen so there you go lastly oh we already talked about that dragon's den with ethereum cat herder and again thank you octon our premier sponsor premier partner and we're really excited to see some of those folks in new york in a cup in tomorrow tomorrow oh my god tomorrow

52:04Speaker 1

in tomorrow

52:05Speaker 0

in tomorrow holy shit yeah it's it's time so that's it adrianne did i miss anything oh what was the thing what's going on later today there's something going on

52:18Speaker 1
