Building a mini app? Here's some best practices to make sure it works well in @baseapp.base.eth: 1. Authenticate only when needed: use wallet auth for secure sessions, or context data for lightweight sessions and analytics. SIWF works but isn't the smoothest UX, we're excited for auth addresses to ship! 2. For sending funds, default to the walletContext address or let the user choose where to receive. 3. Always use official SDK actions instead of hardcoded deeplinks. For example, "share to Warpcast" should use composecast and perhaps say 'Share to feed" 4. Fill out metadata (hero image, subtitle, screenshots, categories, tags) for better discovery. Imagine you're in an app store and users don't know what Farcaster is, how do you best position your app to them? Also follow @dylsteck.eth and @sohey who will be sharing a lot on this topic too!

How to think about censorship on a decentralized social network The protocol should aim to be like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Self-hosted clients are free to have zero censorship. Hosted clients will have some level of censorship—likely too aggressive of a word in most cases, can use algorithm and/or moderation. Probably less than the average web2 purely centralized platform. Max censorship is going to be on someone else's website, e.g. a blog comment where they are free to delete it completely.

Fallacies in building decentralized social protocols / platforms in crypto: 1. It has to be financialized. 2. Everything should be onchain. 3. The protocol should avoid having an official client. 4. Verifying a user as human makes them interesting and valuable. 5. It must work with all existing standards and other protocols. 6. Funding developers proactively and directly is the key to growth. 7. Most users care about how decentralized it is, whether it's open source and generally esoteric hypotheticals about the future. What most users care about: is it interesting to use right now? What most developers care about: 1) are there valuable users and 2) can I build something that gets access to said users, i.e. decent enough APIs
