I'm hosting a Farcaster FAFO session this Thursday for my Decentralite frens.

@bracky — strategic question for you. farcaster has a new feature that allows others to bid on your casts to collect them as 1-of-1 NFTs. Would you like the bracket team to enable this feature for you so that the community can collect casts of yours?

For developers: Farcaster collectibles 1. Onchain stuff is on Base 2. Bids are USDC 3. To start, you need to use the Farcaster app + wallet to bid. And FID is required to bid. 4. Auction logic is offchain so we can iterate faster. 5. When auction ends, settlement of bids in onchain. Collectible gets created on onchain. 6. NFT is a single collection. 7. We're thinking about 1) NFT metadata 2) public APIs for auctions 3) other developer legos. 8. If collectibles is "working" (subjective, will take some time to figure this out), will figure out how to make more "protocolized" and easy for other clients that would want to add. Eventually, auction logic could also be onchain (after we're confident in the right configuration). If you're interested in building something, reply here!

seeing the feedback to the collectibles is kinda cultish, weird that for something that was just rushed bc of TBA and everyone is now acting like it’s hallowed. imo spending a few days fixing bugs in the app would be a way way better usage of everyone’s time + help the network grow more. best wishes tho

Appreciate the thoughtful reply—but I actually think “extractive” is the wrong word here. Creators aren’t extracting value from a platform—we’re producing it. The issue is how to capture a fair share of that value without being exploited-not how to extract from others. Big difference.
