2:24Speaker 1

you know

2:24Speaker 0

i'm i'm hr so if you have a problem take it up with me

2:30Speaker 1

i was i was throwing a little office reference in there for those who got it yeah so let's talk some world cup i know you guys have been prepping so i'm gonna let you let you roll and then and then we'll we'll we'll jump in with some i have some fun cast to talk about too yeah

2:47Speaker 3

can i make a can i make a confession first yeah i call it soccer all the time breaking news

2:55Speaker 1

that is breaking news conversational community

2:59Speaker 3

back in the day really just turning the screw on dwr a little bit bringing the crowd together creating a community something to rally around you know

3:09Speaker 1

this was really cute by the way it's true i liked the cover art a lot it was very good

3:14Speaker 3

yeah where is there all the tape no did you

3:16Speaker 1

i know i was supposed to bring rope and duct tape i forgot yeah just to say i was gonna i was gonna change places there very cute very very cute this is scandalous scandalous scandalous i catch myself

3:31Speaker 3

all the time i wanna call it football but i grew up calling it soccer

3:34Speaker 1

and look i've got my i got my soccer scarf from aptos from when we were in new york so and it's even knicks colors we'll talk about that later

3:44Speaker 0

i'm gonna call it football football today just for chaos

3:47Speaker 1

alright yeah yeah that's funny

3:51Speaker 3

adrienne you would ask me something about the emojis right like why on your iphone when you type football do you see the freedom egg you know instead of the the soccer ball

4:03Speaker 1

yeah the freedom egg never heard it's free never heard it called the freedom egg i mean so so that's what that's what i was saying to k mac when we're going back and forth about soccer versus football i'm like when i type soccer the emoji comes up at the soccer wall i mean when i type football it comes up as a football so tell us we came back why is that

4:25Speaker 3

i well so i did a little nerdy deep dive and went all you know point extra on the violin that might land as a reference for mhmm the gen x crowd yeah yeah it's just us yeah so you did the the okay nobody else the unicode characters for soccer were before football and they sort that way too so the only true explanation of why does an apple iphone keyboard pop up the freedom egg before the football soccer ball is gotta be that dwr worked at apple at some point anyone know

5:04Speaker 1

that's probably it

5:05Speaker 3

is there any evidence of this anywhere out there

5:09Speaker 1

that has to be it that used to be some of it it that was some of my favorite arguments i have to say or we

5:16Speaker 0

love we love arguments conspiracy

5:18Speaker 1

yeah yeah i love a good i love a good conspiracy theory awesome alright adrienne you got questions i know you do you were prepping for this

5:26Speaker 0

and just to set some context of like why are obviously we're doing a world cup edition because i apparently the world cup is going on and

5:34Speaker 1

all over america and canada and mexico

5:38Speaker 0

the soccer football whatever we wanna call this sport beautiful game greatest game on earth something like that has been just like a recurring theme on like throughout farcaster from like i think for years so for someone like me who doesn't understand the sports balls and or or sports not that i don't understand it i just not i just don't get that

6:01Speaker 1

just not that into

6:02Speaker 3

it yeah

6:03Speaker 0

i think a little bit

6:06Speaker 0

i really love seeing all the kind of the passion and the and the the i'm gonna just call it soccer the soccer people on farcaster between the different do you have a footy app at some point and the channels and the discussion so i

6:21Speaker 1

that's been one of the like most fun channels for a long time speaking of channels which we'll be talking about later i mean like that's it's been like very early on was a was a big one for sure so it's been fun to

6:33Speaker 3

so many passionate people around the world that love the beautiful game that it's it it's been fantastic i've made online friends for what three is it four yet three what does a four digit fit how long ago was that

6:46Speaker 1

we're coming up on yeah we're coming up on four for me yeah for how long i've been on but there's been some folks who've been on a little bit longer so yeah probably about four to five years when they started 2021

6:58Speaker 3

so there's just something about this beautiful game that just pulls people together and creates this affinity that it it's it's just beautiful so i i have now friends and collaborators on the footy app from nigeria you know 20 year old kids that i say kids right 20 year old kids that are developing and just kinda working with me in collaboration and just trying to promote the game and really get forecaster to mean football and it might be a little loud for the next well i think july 19 is the finale of the world cup so if you think it's loud now maybe the mute button for a month i don't know if you're not a football fan i would suggest though just go watch a match it's a different language like we call them matches not games you know we call it supporters rather than fans there's a variety of other things but once you get the language down and you just try to forget about some of the obscure rules it's just this beautiful ebb and flow of strategy and tactics and players and as my wife jay mac says there are some really hot guys that are playing this sport

8:13Speaker 1

true story i true story both and i'm

8:19Speaker 0

here whoever you said j mac was asking about i googled him immediately

8:24Speaker 0

i got the taste

8:25Speaker 3

so did you did

8:26Speaker 1

you ever play a consultant adrienne did you ever play soccer

8:29Speaker 3

i did yeah i did

8:30Speaker 1

you played soccer adrienne did you ever play soccer

8:32Speaker 3

the american kid played right

8:34Speaker 1

like i played for like i played for like a good i think it was like seven eight years something like that and then i helped coach it when i was in high school the captain of soccer team he had a a mom they their coach fell out so he's like can i get a couple of friends to help me coach this team of six year olds and it was one of the funniest experiences like i still remember to this day because you just got so excited if they were running in the right direction because it was at the point you know like you couldn't even get you know you're trying to do drills and they're just like what and they're doing cartwheels and it was hilarious so it's been like something that i've always followed and my nephew played clubball and all this stuff but it's not something i watch like i've never watched a world cup match because frankly the men's team sucks usually but i've watched many a women's team win the champions won the world cup many of

9:27Speaker 0

them win the world cup talking us

9:29Speaker 1

i'm talking us yeah yeah we we aren't usually in contention although this year they seem to be doing pretty well so yeah

9:37Speaker 3

last last world cup we didn't even qualify yeah yeah

9:40Speaker 0

it was

9:41Speaker 1

a common world cup women have been crushing it pretty much every every year every time so every four years they're they're at the top and they're pretty amazing so so good

9:50Speaker 3

news this year probably

9:52Speaker 1

okay we'll see

9:53Speaker 3

we won the first we won the first match four to one over this team was not not a pushover and we looked great so that

10:03Speaker 1

was you say that because we were like is is we were like is paraguay just not good because i thought i was thinking they were gonna be good and then i was like oh no they're they're they're a good team so that's good news yeah i'll see how it goes but

10:15Speaker 3

we're on a little we're on a little roll got some hope hope going let's let's see let's see

10:21Speaker 1

little bit of hope but we know we know we know that the the the europeans are are are coming they're coming they're coming for it

10:32Speaker 3

i actually think so absolutely the european teams are favorite so you've got teams like france and spain kind of at the top of the the the list but historically speaking when the tournament is is in the americas a south american team or a central american team does exceptionally well so there could be like a little bit of a

10:55Speaker 1

sleepover there like argentina or brazil brazil's always like a contender right

11:01Speaker 3

both of those are kind of classic classic countries to to go deep in the tournament as they say i my dark horse is colombia i i i think there's something about colombia they got some young talents i'd like to see them see them go far but if somebody is looking for

11:19Speaker 1

hold on i'm just going to polymarket be right back hold on exactly exactly

11:25Speaker 3

so you if if you are looking for a country to support like just let's just assume that the us makes it out of this there's 48 teams in what's called a group stage and if i'm mansplaining just like pause and you know

11:39Speaker 1

out the you're literally world cupsplaining we're good

11:42Speaker 0

it's literally why you're here

11:44Speaker 1

it's why we invited you

11:45Speaker 3

because we really don't know i i get pushed a lot at home like okay i can i can ask the machine this question why are you telling me this right so there's 48 teams now this year in what's called the group stage and the top two teams in each group play a little they play a round robin top two teams go through and a couple of the third place teams go through and then it becomes a single elimination bracket tournament that we all kinda know in march madness right so at the beginning there's just a lot of games some of them are more important than others and the scoring's a little different right there's a couple of things that the folks in the states are like why are there ties you know why why can't we go one one or zero zero you still get a point so you get three points for winning one point if it's a draw and you get no points if you don't win so that creates this okay who's the top first and second and maybe the third place teams go through so if the usa gets eliminated which at some point they will who are you going to cheer for who are you going to support so i think that that becomes kind of this interesting question and i'm i'm really hoping that somebody puts together a vini app for this because i i think you can find your country with a couple of basic questions that you answer you know things like what's your favorite color right you might have a color that you wanna go for do you prefer starbucks or peach do you want the underdog or you want a favorite i'm pretty sure that

13:14Speaker 1

we could kinda zoom in for you that could be fun that could be a fun app

13:18Speaker 3

yeah yeah

13:19Speaker 1

so you know i would have gone with looking at like my you know ancestral lineage and just being like i don't know is ireland still in it or like how's britain doing

13:30Speaker 3

you know

13:30Speaker 0

but anyway i have a i have a question then so this is about i guess soccer culture then are you allowed to just pick a pick a team country team team pick a team to support even though you kind of based it on vibes or you haven't been a lifetime fan because it's like from us sports perspective it's like there's a lot of gatekeeping and you have to kinda prove your your credentials to be a fan yeah

14:01Speaker 1

we don't like a bandwagon

14:02Speaker 0

what's the your different culture in soccer world

14:04Speaker 3

this is a this is a complicated question let let's start with the positive as somebody that grows up in the states you are not born into a club to support so there are two kind of main things there's the clubs every country has their clubs that play you'll and that's the soccer channel right that's mostly club play you know english premier league the spanish la liga and so on and so on so most of the world is born into a family of fans and there's always like one black sheep that tries to support the rival of what your dad supported right so in the states we've got a choice and actually it was it was sixteen or twenty years ago after the world cup i was so excited about what i saw that i wanted more so i went kinda shopping for who am i gonna support you know what what even country's league should i watch and i took a survey and that's why i'm suggesting this now because that survey was like really really random how are you with hooliganism you know are you are you there were there were worse questions but so i i think there's something kind of fun about that so adrienne yeah you don't really have to worry over here and i i don't think there's a lot of gatekeeping what is the one

15:16Speaker 1

one zelinski one zelinski is making a reaction an an app for that he was he just made one so there

15:22Speaker 3

you go he's on it done by the time we're we're done or certainly by the time you guys are done anyway so don't don't worry about it find find a team that excites you find a player that that you like watching it's all good fun

15:35Speaker 1

we'll ask jmac for you know the players when we get down to it we'll just be like who's got the hottest players tell us which team to root for

15:42Speaker 3

and and adrienne do you remember who she she picked

15:46Speaker 0

i i mean no no i don't know the name who was it yeah

15:50Speaker 3

virgil virgil van dyke

15:51Speaker 1

she's she's like okay

15:52Speaker 3

when's virgil playing

15:54Speaker 1

like who who does she play for

15:57Speaker 3

with you jersey the netherlands

15:58Speaker 1

oh they're starting in boston soon

16:00Speaker 3

i think they they played they played yesterday

16:03Speaker 1

or not not boston are they playing in boston i'm not sure where

16:05Speaker 3

they are they're playing in texas i think dallas oh in texas yeah arlington texas and they played japan two phenomenal fan groups like just the the the lore and the traditions behind these fan groups around these countries is just inspiring so it

16:18Speaker 1

that's it you know that's that's the thing that i've been seeing like just looking on social media and not really even watching the games besides you know looking at the us one the us ones i noticed that like the blue bags i was like what is this with the japanese fans supporters and that they were using them and i i thought that was so interesting so they're using these like blue bags as cheering and then they use it to like clean up afterwards and i was like exactly that's such a cultural like that's so interesting like such an interesting it's fun to see all the different cultures and how they sort of approach the their their game you know it's i thought that was very cool because i didn't know anything about that that was brand new to me first time i had seen that

17:08Speaker 3

it's it is quite amazing and it's not just it it's a massive scale like if we take mhmm play the super bowl as a as a reference for folks in the states you know that's like a huge cultural event in the states the world cup is that times ten eleven 12 you you know if you just add up the 48 countries and what all of those people there was there was one stat i think it was the last world cup when was it iceland was was traveling they're like yeah 10% of the population left the country you know like to go watch the game

17:42Speaker 1

yeah wow that's crazy

17:44Speaker 3

and we've got the smallest country in the world and karasawa has has made it into the tournament this year it's it's really a cultural event that is like no other ever in history and that might sound like hyperbole but it's it's true it's there's nothing like this it's an estimated 1,500,000,000 people that that are part of an audience for this and especially when it comes to the final so

18:10Speaker 1

adrienne what other questions did you have

18:17Speaker 0

what can you talk about the host countries

18:21Speaker 3

sure this year

18:23Speaker 0

have you yeah and are you are you going to a match

18:26Speaker 3

so there are matches not too far from my home the prices are a little bit ridiculous and the the world cup is is run by an organization called fifa and it's notoriously corrupt so there's a lot of controversy this year about oh we have water breaks hydration breaks you know sponsored by powerade you know it's really kinda like you're kinda breaking the flow of the game this game is in a stadium that's temperature controlled why are we having hydration break sponsored by powerade so there's a lot of controversy about the money grab and i am not one to really want to give fifa my money in fact i work on an open source project plug plug that we call d fifa

19:15Speaker 1

right which which

19:17Speaker 3

is coming soon on testnets and testnets we just did the the multisig signing for testnets today we we'll get juicebugs v six out okay advertisement done but anyway k mac don't go

19:29Speaker 0

i don't go aside total aside rough number how many projects are you involved in

19:37Speaker 3

like realistically probably four or five that i okay i i keep track but you're probably like putting my hobbies like footy app is is a hobby right okay this mega bulls thing it's a hobby but actual companies and projects that plan to generate revenue and do well in the world probably four or five

19:59Speaker 1

oodefifa i think yeah i like the i like the name by the way i like that's funny and so one other thing i wanted to ask you about that i happened to see was this like what's what's happening here we've got you've got

20:15Speaker 3

kenny we

20:17Speaker 1

got kenny doing some things so fans take a pic of what you're watching for a chance at some eth so what's going on with this with this bounty you got going

20:26Speaker 3

it's really simple and the idea is to get some people posting into into the football channel which is gated i cringe a little but just ask if you're have if you don't have a spam score or something you're in but the idea is to just get people into into the channel post what their setup is just with your tv if you're sitting in a stand take you know watching the match take a take a photo it's that simple and what is it up to now do you see it there professor is it $30

20:57Speaker 1

yeah 35 yep

20:58Speaker 3

35 and that's that's up so eth must be up today anyone checking that yeah we have big so it was like 20 something yeah

21:05Speaker 1

yeah so so very cool

21:07Speaker 3

just just for taking a picture of you your setup watching a game where in the world can you go do that

21:13Speaker 1

yeah very cool i love that that's awesome and then you'll also because it's so farcaster's so multicultural that'll be really interesting as well and just to see like everyone's gonna you know different setups different games they're watching i think that's a really fun poid if you will so i love that and then in case you haven't hit the football channel okay i'm gonna do it i think i'm already in the soccer channel but i guess i'll follow this one too

21:43Speaker 3

you're in trouble now man you might wanna what a month to celebrate

21:48Speaker 1

it'll be fine it'll be fine yeah so i think that's that's gonna be it's gonna be a lot of fun but there's a lot going on here you go you know there's a lot of people posting really fun things so go check it out even if you're not you can anyone can follow even if you're not a member who can post so and there's a lot of fun things happening there so you can see what people's setups are

22:12Speaker 3

one quick call out there are some people that have been in the channel for a very long time and if i were to try to name them all i would certainly miss somebody but it is it is not a k max channel i don't even think i am the official moderator or owner of it it is a collective we've got a group of mods that are all very passionate about the the sport trying to curate and experience inside that channel and if anyone has or starts to grow a love of the game throughout this process of the world cup just raise your hand you're more than welcome to to to volunteer and and moderate and get involved there's a group of us that have a a chat for football devs people that are building apps around the beautiful game so just just raise your hand no nobody owns this it's an amorphous group there's there is a treasury we run a couple of sports but that's a sports a couple of contests but that's really just through donations it's not a money making affair in any way so please join football

23:12Speaker 0

associate treasury associated with the channel is there like a heart association or it's just

23:17Speaker 3

no no it's not we created

23:20Speaker 0

both i say treasuries right

23:22Speaker 3

you know so cura had created us a way to do that and we thought it was interesting but everyone wanted to kinda smack a token on it too and we just of course they do we you know we don't even really try to let too many prediction and betting things in and i you know it's not it's not a hard fast rule it's more of a guiding principle like hey let's just dial that down and focus on the sport itself so love that love that one of

23:52Speaker 1

the things that i i really have been fascinated just watching the different fans posting mostly on twitter is where i'm seeing it and there's a couple that are that are you know here from other countries traveling through and just watching the different cultures and everything and i i don't know if you're following freddie freddie la7 over on twitter you should be he's traveling through the south and like everyone's just loving him so he's getting like upgraded and stuff and like welcome to louisiana they put a welcome freddie sign on there and then he got to texas and they up jj watt he he was going to houston so freddie winston his room and it's like so cool it's really fun

24:38Speaker 3

is it is this is this is his last name winston

24:41Speaker 1

he's german he's german i have no idea he's a

24:43Speaker 3

german guy okay

24:44Speaker 1

german dude who's just traveling here going to going to matches and he's and people are just loving his energy and he's getting a lot of attention and then i'm from massachusetts so i've been seeing the boston things and the scots it's it's completely scotland just took over boston and it's hilarious they went to fenway and like it's been amazing like if you just if you just go over to twitter look for the scotts in in boston and it's unbelievable and they're having a blast there's one video of they're at because they're in the patriots they're at foxborough for the matches and they had the patriots cheerleaders on the screen and there's a picture of the one of the the fans just like like what is going on it was really really funny and then another one with bagpipes going down the slide that it's a it's a famous slide that one of the cops went down and like went flying out of and then there's another account where it's the there's a supposed japanese world cup tourist i don't think he's actually here in the us right now but he's posting as if he is and it's regardless it's great content of like experiencing things in the us and it's just kind of hilarious so highly recommend follow japan now now banganaga also just really fun so it's that's what i've been enjoying most honestly is just seeing like different cultures experiencing america like there was another tiktok video of people going to buc ee's and like like mostly british folks and going

26:28Speaker 3

what is buc ee's

26:29Speaker 1

like it's like you know this giant gas station in the south and like texas and but it's like a huge it's almost like a grocery store plus a you know gas station and but you can buy like you know cowboy hat plus like brisket and you know whatever like all kinds of stuff ammo ammo probably yeah like they're just like walking through with you know everything's supersized and like you know people walking out with these giant cups and going okay well this is gonna last me three days it's just it's really funny so that's been really fun to watch honestly like is those kind of things i think are worth like just kinda if you're looking at like there's a lot on tiktoks a lot on instagram but i'm i've been following a lot of it on twitter and it's been really fun to see just like the reactions of i don't know we're kinda crazy like you i think when you see american culture and not politics but just like culture through the lens of like the rest of the world it's really interesting to like see how they look at us and just they're it's fascinating so anyway

27:39Speaker 3

we shouldn't have to join also mexico and also also in canada this year yeah and the canadian team if i'm remembering correctly is coached by an american the american team is coached by an argentinian oh it's a win win

27:53Speaker 1

oh now i know why we're doing so well that's no

27:58Speaker 3

so i i so i had posted some a video of some some flops and some moments and stuff and i think i see it behind adrienne there there's like one of the classic world cup dives or as they they call it simulation which i find it very funny the the terms like we've got simulation we've got a touchline we've got supporters i'm like what are these guys thinking when they put all this stuff together like this is just it's like the double entendre is just tripping my mind but the there is a simulation that happened when the us coach was playing for argentina he followed the guy so we're gonna hope that we have a better outcome than he had in the world cup creating a penalty actually i think they ended up going on to win but he gave up a a pretty severe penalty at one point but it was claimed simulation so anyway it's a beautiful game i invite everybody to slide in the football channel even if you're even if you don't have a team chime in tag me tag any of the regulars you see in there there's a lot of us somebody will respond and help you find a find a team if the vini app isn't done yet is the vini app

29:15Speaker 1

i don't know if it's done yet but juan dalinski if you're if you're in there link us up and we'll make sure to share it

29:21Speaker 3

yeah we'll share it

29:22Speaker 1

pick your pick your country

29:23Speaker 0

i got tagged thirty seconds ago

29:26Speaker 1

it's up okay it's up alright and then reminder go check out the the poid snap a pic of the tv you're watching the match on open poid app enter to win money for watching the greatest tournament in the history of the world so there you go i mean

29:42Speaker 1

it can't be any easier can't be any easier awesome anything else adrienne before we let before we let k mac get ready for the next match

29:53Speaker 0

when when is the us play again anyone know

29:55Speaker 3

i believe it's friday

29:58Speaker 0

okay who

29:58Speaker 1

are they playing friday do you know oh oh

30:02Speaker 3

i do know don't know not off the not off the top of my head yeah i should probably look okay friday

30:09Speaker 1

30:24Speaker 0

we just said in in the chat someone just asked who's gonna win though and cassie said the advertisers

30:30Speaker 1

so yes well done that's exactly 100% exactly win or lose

30:36Speaker 3

win or lose the platform wins

30:40Speaker 1

i did see a lot of people complaining about how much how many you know how many ads in the breaking of the game and i think they're not used to that and it's like i'm sure it's way more because it's in the us i guarantee you that's just makes sense in the americas i should say in the americas sorry sorry mexico sorry canada

30:58Speaker 0

you can't have it both ways you can't have buc ee's like you can't get brisket at a gas station and also have an ad free world coffee

31:04Speaker 1

these are these are the trade offs right these are the trade offs oh k mac thanks so much for for jumping in and doing this and yeah we weren't sure if i was gonna be back today so i really appreciate you like stepping up and saying hey i'll i'll cohost so that was very sweet

31:23Speaker 3

and i am sure that towards the end of the tournament if you guys wanna refresh or recap that somebody in the football channel will raise their hand awesome if they don't

31:32Speaker 1

great awesome i'm sure we'll be talking about it because i think it's gonna be it's gonna be well

31:37Speaker 3

hard to avoid hard to avoid

31:38Speaker 1

when gm broadcaster hydration breaks we do them often going on one right now we do them often guys take care bye k bye

31:50Speaker 1

that was great that was really fun just

31:52Speaker 0

a word just a we're gonna pause for a word from our sponsor

31:56Speaker 1

we do have a sponsor you know i'm gonna take off this

32:01Speaker 0

it says so k mac is awesome and he's been a longtime supporter of jamf barcaster and we love him so much yeah and years ago like when we had started the show and we did it to an audience of about 14 people

32:16Speaker 1

wasn't even that

32:17Speaker 0

on on on lonely yeah he had the idea he's like of he got it immediately of what our vibe was and he's like you should do you need like correspondence like weapons

32:29Speaker 1

that's right and he

32:29Speaker 0

was like you need a sports correspondent like have someone do those sports and it took us three years a little bit but but thanks we only did it i'm sorry

32:40Speaker 1

i only did it

32:41Speaker 0

we did our fourth sports segment

32:43Speaker 1

we finally had it speaking of sports okay this pains me to a level i don't know if you all understand but i am wearing i am wearing a knicks background i'm wearing a new york city shirt and we're starting with people so i'm gonna give it to them they can win once every fifty three years i'm fine with it congratulations to the knicks they they really pulled it off and it was a great series i really wish they had been able to win at home but it was it was pretty amazing and but i do now have to put this on because i'm required by my family to make sure that you understand i am still a celtics fan and i am from boston but

33:33Speaker 0

this is wild what i'm seeing right now like i know

33:36Speaker 1

never thought you'd see the day

33:38Speaker 0

which is hilarious because you're a celtics fan and i'm a fan so and i but i live in new york i'm super happy for all the new yorkers like it's

33:46Speaker 1

i am too like i you know right

33:48Speaker 3

you know

33:48Speaker 1

who i'm super happy for spike lee he's been you know

33:54Speaker 0

he's fine

33:55Speaker 1

he's been he's been there for so long it's like okay you can have this one i really you know and actually watching the celebration and like hearing them all sing you know empire state of mind like it it it was it was wild to see people in the streets and just like it was crazy so i you know was i was really enjoying that i was like why are there buses in times square and then i realized they put them there on purpose to like so to kinda avoid hopefully other damage and i was like oh that was kinda smart that was pretty smart actually because i was like why in the world would there be school buses out on a it was like a saturday or whatever it was i was like that doesn't even make any sense

34:37Speaker 0

like one of those one of those rage rooms

34:39Speaker 1

yeah exactly that's what they did and i was like that was kind of brilliant it was pretty brilliant yeah oh it's big so

34:46Speaker 0

really because that no

34:48Speaker 1

i hate that that happens but if it's gonna happen anyway at least direct the energy to something that you know you can

34:55Speaker 0

deal with no because then you're giving permission like you're giving this like asset permission for people to say go ahead and wreck shit

35:01Speaker 1

they're gonna do it anyway they're gonna do it anyway because they always do in big cities and i hate it i think it's ridiculous and stupid like what are you doing but if you're gonna do it i thought that was kinda smart i did love this beeple he did that was pretty cool very well done of course and by the way i don't know if you guys know this the trophy was designed by victor oh god i'm losing his last name right now but he was a nouner did some stuff with nouns did some stuff with little nouns had his own nft collection i actually met him i've seen the like designs of the trophy i have some basketball things from him so he's yeah it's so that's pretty cool so when i saw that like in this in the streets with the lights i thought that was really cool so yeah so the guy who designed the designs the trophies is one of us there you go there there was some controversy with some of that but we'll we'll get back to we'll just gonna pretend that it all went well anyway should we move into some farcaster news are we ready to move on from sports setting up sports for like ever

36:13Speaker 0

a lot of sports

36:14Speaker 1

a lot of sports

36:16Speaker 0

it's a lot of sports we usually say we don't cover politics except for the memes and we usually don't do sports the memes the sports memes are good

36:24Speaker 1

we do sports like you know when it's big stuff and this is pretty big and honestly i i think it's the first time i really i've appreciated the level of of the world cup just because it's here and just seeing so much more i don't think i've ever appreciated it as much like as i do as i do this time so like i said i've watched the women's women's soccer forever world cup because you know they're gonna win so it's like easier to to to hang in there and i and i kinda love that i actually i get it i get a big kick out of the fact that the women always seem to win it the us women and the and the men struggle and they that last time they didn't even qualify so that that makes me just gives me a little my little my little feminist heart just goes but i hope that you know it seems like the men are doing well this time and i'm excited to to watch on friday alright let's dive into some news adrienne i've missed some things we missed lots of things

37:26Speaker 0

i'll catch

37:27Speaker 3

you up

37:27Speaker 1

okay catch me up we had this from brad q 29 for twenty nine seconds of farcaster what did you miss this weekend channels was a hot topic this weekend lots of thoughtful comments and quote casts we're gonna talk more about that in just a bit the nba finals and stanley cup oh that's right stanley cup ended too and you know what that means another 100,000,000 better went out from the lobby thanks to burr implants four winners split the nba pot including jc's press packs and kyb took the whole 50,000,000 for the cup i assume the hurricanes won the cup i'm not positive i actually missed that but either congrats emily junior or condolences i'm not sure which because i haven't checked this morning i wasn't pay i wasn't watching that yesterday so somebody in the chat fill me in because i'm sure somebody knows anyway

38:19Speaker 0

the hurricanes is that what you said

38:20Speaker 1

yes yeah that they went hurricanes okay so congratulations emily junior i'm sure he's happy with that outcome i know he was he was actually at the game in vegas watching that zal and cassie on to talk the inner workings of fc transcript in the comments below and there may be a video replay check-in the comments for an answer this is still our twenty nine seconds barcaster you can now record spaces on juke link in comments and then we were off for a week sorry about that guys and now we're back all right moving on i saw this yesterday and i was very excited this is flannel doughnut i'm one of 12 people headed to dc next week to speak with legislators on the clarity act so that's this week i'm completely honored to be selected by swc to speak about who we are and what we do and how working on chain has impacted our small business i learned during our briefing that we are in the final stop before the bill hits the floor that's exactly where we are i'm ready so thank you flannel doughnut for your service honestly like for real like you're doing the work it's not it's not easy it's not fun you get to go sit with a bunch of mostly staffers you might meet a congressperson or two and doing the work of like explaining to them that you know we're not all all grifters and criminals so thank you we appreciate we appreciate your service

39:47Speaker 1

and then i this was from going back to i meant to put this further forward i i pulled this last week we didn't get a chance to talk about it this was really smart there was a a bar owner restaurant bar owner who put a bet on polymarket and if the knicks had won and i think they did you would get up to a $100 of your tab covered so and if they lost he doesn't lose anything if he won he bet enough to cover that like plus so it was like that was the biggest win win and that was such a smart hedge by a business like that was

40:27Speaker 0

really smart listen he would lose what he bet if he lost

40:30Speaker 3

right right

40:30Speaker 0

but you get free marketing

40:32Speaker 1

you get the free marketing you brought more people in probably people spent more because they were willing to risk it you know so it's like i was like that was pretty brilliant so well done and then he was getting i think it was might have been i don't know if it was kalshi or i can't remember if it was i think it was i don't remember if it was kalshi or polymarket but he also got them promoting his restaurant so very smart very smart interesting hedge there we had this cast translation is live on web and mobile again these are a little bit old because we were off last week cast in your language language and others will see it in there as your google translate tab can finally rest i've heard we've had some issues though huge shout out to vero's who made this happen how's it working have you how's it working in practice right now

41:16Speaker 0

i'm seeing mixed results so i am seeing sometimes you know a little notification i'll see a cast in english it'll say it was translated or i did see some that were only half translated and then i'm still seeing i don't know if they're all getting translated so it's probably not fully polished

41:36Speaker 1

yeah as as those things happen it'll get better it'll get better over time we iterate we do the shitty version

41:42Speaker 0

kinda wild to think about though like if you fast forward to the idea of like being able to communicate with anyone regardless of your native tongue

41:52Speaker 1

i mean twitter just got that not that long ago where you're seeing the translations automatically so it's been pretty recent which is pretty cool

42:04Speaker 1

alright moving on what would the channel do so this is a question from the farcaster intern it has caused a lot of discussion and i think it's great some great questions it's they're they're doing some seeking to try and figure out what works what doesn't work with channels how can improve what do people like what people don't like so what what should a channel be for what channels still work today what are they getting right what would make running one worth the effort hypothetical hypothetical

42:32Speaker 0

if you

42:32Speaker 1

had to pay to renew your channel would you why or why not that comes from the fact that originally when you bought a channel there was supposed to be an annual renewal they never put that into place so i think that was just more of a like would you why or why not and i think most people would say probably not and definitely not ones that i don't use any you know aren't using as actively maybe they were ephemeral kind of things is there something you take elsewhere group chat another app that you wish you could do in a channel what is it and where does it live now what makes or would make a channel special to you the vibes the utility something else i want to hear the good the bad long replies welcome rants count as feedback she may regret that now but it might be the last time you see rants count as feedback i'm just kidding so i you know originally we used our gm forecaster channel as our website like we didn't have a website so that was like originally our first place where this is where you could find everything you need to know it still is like the go to place that like if you need to find something for gm forecaster as a starting point it's a good place to start other channels have been more ephemeral or more topic based or farcast her was one of the biggest channels for a long time and it was a great place to connect with other women on a very male dominated platform and male dominated space so that provided just a place to be able to find people it wasn't even like you know you can all see it it wasn't like we're keeping you out but it was a good place to like connect we've talked about the football channel like that's been you know very strong for very you know since early days what are your thoughts on channels adrienne

44:29Speaker 0

forecaster intern i promised i would get feedback and i realized i don't i think i need to spend i'm really thinking about far like channels before i have even feedback i was thinking about the we created a channel for the clanker ecosystem fund right and so for that use case and like we're getting a ton of inbound and people interested in asking questions and i would love to see more of that conversation happening in public right because for so for people who have questions you ask a you know so then it you know you're we can answer them publicly then other people benefit from the answers but also just like when people want to apply or get on our radar the more something can be in public the more information we can get about what other people think of various projects and and tools and whatnot i think the better it is so i think that sounds more like a reddit style yeah application and

45:28Speaker 1

then we've used it for

45:29Speaker 0

cast out yeah yeah same kind

45:31Speaker 1

of thing of like jamfarcaster

45:33Speaker 0

it comes like more branding you know it's like branding

45:35Speaker 1

and more like here's the place where you can find about this thing like that's kind of the way we've used it but i think there's a lot a lot of you know folks have different thoughts on this and i i liked peachy had some really had some really good comments here it's a little long but i i think it's you know worth a read when i originally made my channels it said i would have to pay to renew them and i was okay with that but the day never came and we were we've been able to keep the channels indefinitely if i had to pay again i probably wouldn't renew most of them and would strongly debate why i would renew any i used to use channels to organize content it made some things easy to find when search was unusable great point now i've come to terms with the fact that casts are ephemeral i was trying to work around system limits using channels i used to use them because people scrolled them and i kept them curated so they look nice the main bar caster client stopped highlighting channels and made them more difficult to scroll so most people stopped checking them that was another thing for a while in the feed those you would see people you follow plus channels you follow so you would it was a great place to find new people that had similar interest like if you were in if it was a channel that you were posting and you were gonna see them if you were like into food if you're into gardening whatever another place to connect with new folks as soon as i lost the purple dot notifications that were new posts even i forgot to check most of them i've seen a handful of communities continue to thrive after the channels overhaul but i've lost most of the tools i used to use because developers moved on or pivoted or sunsetted the products channels went into zombie mode the network changed and now we all feel stuck the channel membership models were designed to combat spam if your channel had spam it was your fault most of us locked them down because we had no choice we had no moderation tools built into the client for a while and had to rely on third party solutions now spam is much better spammers don't target channels as much maybe we don't really need that model at all anymore other exceptions sure channel gates can be very useful to some communities but do 99% of channels need them now probably not so that was the other thing like if you're a member of purple you would be you could be a member of channel post there that was another way to kind of keep discussion on topics for daos and things like that the nouns channel was huge for a while it was it became like the the place where we would discuss proposals so it could be discussed in public rather than in a discord so i think things have evolved and i think a lot of that has to do with the evolution of the space right now like the whole crypto space it's not even just farcaster like we've had like a massive like exodus of people who've just they've moved on so that's a big part of it like we talk about you know farcaster dau being down and all this but like go look at crypto twitter it's it's you know it's not much you know obviously it's always been bigger but in the same percentage you see the same drop because it's just it's just the way the the market is right now so i think you know we were all like hiding in discords for a while and i think this brings things a little bit more out in the open and so i've always liked channels i've always liked channels as a as an alternative to that

49:05Speaker 0

yeah so i don't think i like the origin story of channels like i always had an issue with how they were kind of originally proposed because there was such an anti like to me they just kinda felt like hashtags yeah but i don't mind that well we didn't have hashtags you couldn't hashtag and then search on

49:25Speaker 1

it right

49:26Speaker 0

fully aggregate so it was kind of like it's a it's a permission to hashtag with civil protection because you had to you know pay 20 like or just you add the friction you add the cost so it'll prevent some sort of spam mhmm so then i think about well what are the use cases like there's probably hashtag based which is just kind of like topic aggregation and maybe ephemeral then i said there's kind of the reddit conversation style right right then there's the discord right so like community discussion and that's another use and i think we tend to lump all these like channels can solve all of them but any one of them probably require

50:01Speaker 0

someone with like a team of people optimizing the experience for that

50:07Speaker 1

true true

50:09Speaker 0

for that purpose so that's a good point for our caster to say let's make channels better there's it's not it can't be this one size fits all like moderation tooling the ui might need to look differently depending on certain things mhmm so my it's but people still love channels like there's still something there by the way i've i've been posting in my personal channel a ton lately

50:33Speaker 1

oh really

50:33Speaker 0

why would i do that yeah i'm like tagging

50:35Speaker 1

because then it's easy to go back too i don't if you're looking for something if you want to

50:40Speaker 0

but i search search used to sign yeah search search works now so i just do from adrienne and then search but

50:45Speaker 1

i also scroll through i like to scroll through maybe you know certain channels you know

50:50Speaker 0

but it ends up just being a categorization thing like it's like the way i it's information architecture like i categorize this as my personal thought i'm putting it out in the feed like it's almost like when i cast to adrienne it's like i'm not really inviting conversation because it's like my i'm writing to myself

51:05Speaker 1

you can yeah it's almost like your journal like your journal yeah like a journal but it's your farcaster version

51:10Speaker 0

yeah so i think if i were i i just forecast are such a lean team so it's like you can't do you can only do so much

51:16Speaker 1

right

51:18Speaker 0

so i don't know i think my advice would be to kind of pick one use case for forecast or for channels and build that out because people still want them no

51:27Speaker 1

i would disagree i would totally disagree because i think there's benefit to all those use cases and i don't think it has to be one thing but there could be priorities like what are most people using them for let's prioritize that but i don't think it has to be one thing i like the i like that it can be many different things in my opinion said this

51:49Speaker 0

and maybe i pulled it the best thing i read was someone describing channels as like a way to incubate ideas that oh no incubate clients okay that's what it was which is like okay it's like a loose structure that i can kinda combine things for people can use cast a little differently could that become a client that has a very different look and feel and a complete different experience than a what we're used to with like a scrolling feed so i thought that was interesting like kit a a place to experiment net new things like we haven't thought about yet so

52:25Speaker 1

by the way this was really interesting too the diet channel it's kenji quest was saying i hope you guys get along diet channel is is one of the most consistent and long lasting channels in farcaster with its own culture people own events and dynamics even their own virtual events it's actually quite fascinating i'd recommend gm farcaster have a look at this little ecosystem which continues its existence thanks to the tireless work of mizu a a little pocket of farcaster in japan which has been humming along quietly but strongly so when i first saw diet i was

52:58Speaker 2

thinking it was the diet coke channel

53:02Speaker 1

mhmm also there is

53:03Speaker 0

costco channel

53:04Speaker 1

also costco channel like those are just fun

53:08Speaker 0

and mhmm

53:09Speaker 1

like weird but the other thing too is sometimes when you see when i when i post something and i tag it it also gives you an indication of like what somebody is talking about like or what somebody is referencing like it's context yeah it's a context queue and i think that's also helpful so i that's why i think like i don't think it should be one thing but i can understand a small team needing to focus on what what the priorities should be so i get that part of it for sure odd job no we will not bring back google plus

53:45Speaker 0

google plus their social app yeah with circles like they create yes oh i remember yeah

53:50Speaker 1

yeah it it didn't go well you know what surprised me recently i have so when i i set myself a fifteen minute limit on instagram but now they include threads i thought threads was the stupidest thing i was like it's so dumb it's not gonna go anywhere it's not gonna do anything and now it actually makes more sense to me because instagram is very culture focused and very celebrity focused that threads actually becomes the conversation about those things so for example been a little obsessed with summer house this is my own thing you can you know for those my bravo my bravo people out there so when i see that it's like okay and then i can and then they have a tag so you can same kind of thing with channels it's not a channel but it's a tag so if you click on that tag then you see other things about that topic so like that to me is actually turned out better than i would have thought it was gonna i thought threads was going to crash and burn and be gone by now and i've been surprised that and i again it's because of the instagram you know connection that it's still alive but now i understand the use case better it makes a little more sense to me so

55:00Speaker 0

yeah and they've got plenty of funding in runway like they can stick around forever

55:03Speaker 1

they can they can keep play around with it yeah interesting yeah

55:07Speaker 0

it's a

55:08Speaker 1

good point

55:09Speaker 0

professor yeah total tangent love island has taken over my house

55:17Speaker 0

so i need to

55:18Speaker 1

are you all caught up

55:20Speaker 0

no i haven't watched a single episode but i girl i don't i

55:24Speaker 1

i'm can i i'll just talk to your i'll just talk to your girls

55:27Speaker 0

like literally i just keep adding texts like do we have peacock how do i sign on i need peacock they're obsessed everyone is talk and i and now they finally convinced me i'm like maybe i need to watch one tonight so i can have something to talk about with my daughter

55:41Speaker 1

obsessed

55:41Speaker 0

they're obsessed

55:42Speaker 1

also also so now okay sorry we're going a little tangent just bear with us for like two seconds they now have a new so they have a show called after sun that happens on saturdays it's a good way to catch up and the now the new host they have a way new format it's really really good first one was this saturday and sierra miller from summer house for those who know is one of the co hosts and was that a was

56:09Speaker 0

that a boston accent

56:10Speaker 1

that was a boston accent i don't know how that came out but it did it did it did so yeah it's it's really good but it's ridiculous it's absolutely ridiculous i can't believe i watch the show i do not it is not i should not be watching the show it is not for me if my child ever came to me and said they were going on the show i would say absolutely freaking not you're not like no

56:35Speaker 0

the other thing is my girls keep asking like would you go like ask each other whether they would go on the show no no and the woman's like maybe no i don't know

56:44Speaker 1

i don't

56:44Speaker 0

know what

56:45Speaker 1

you're saying you need to see the show before you answer that question no but also it's fascinating and also it's a little bit of like reliving some of your youth and like realizing the mistakes the stupid mistakes you used to make okay moving on

57:00Speaker 0

okay forecaster news

57:02Speaker 1

back back to the news

57:03Speaker 3

by the

57:04Speaker 0

way shout out kenji quest thank you for tagging us i appreciate when people tag us with things yeah

57:09Speaker 1

very helpful

57:11Speaker 0

and i often don't acknowledge it but i do see them so thank you people writing in japanese like be very difficult for us to even know what they're talking about they translate future should make that easier and it's just kind of love that you forget there's still these tiny tiny little niche communities and trends that don't hit any of our radars and it's like it's really cool to see

57:36Speaker 1

very cool so yeah really appreciate that tag because i would have missed it

57:44Speaker 1

this from our friend nikki sapp you can now record native farcaster spaces below you'll find the first successful test how to record kick off your space from juke audio press the gear icon icon and tap start recording spaces are cross platform you can listen and participate on farcaster mobile or web app quorum and any other app that has native spaces integrated recordings can be found in the juke mini app or on your juke profile under the recordings tab the feature is still in beta so let me know if you find any bugs so very cool and i think if i heard correctly the chat zal if you can confirm i think you had a recording with cassie that is available there if i'm wrong let me know okay moving on to some builder news let me get this open

58:36Speaker 0

and while you do that i'll just shout out zal just said he's been meeting people through spaces so like hosting spaces people who have under a 100 followers so kind of smaller nice accounts but legit people and like shout out spaces i think that's a cool way to

58:50Speaker 3

very cool

58:50Speaker 0

meet people

58:51Speaker 1

and let me just get some of these links they're being a little slow to load

58:55Speaker 0

and and i think zelle is saying it sounds like the recording is on youtube

58:59Speaker 1

oh okay so never mind i was wrong okay eth global happened in new york last week new york was very freaking busy between the knicks they also have the world cup going on in new jersey and a lot of people are in new york staying in new york and you know what was really funny i saw the i saw some people somebody some tourist who's here for the world cup complaining about the knicks fans it's like dude you're no like that they should be more respectful of the visitors

59:34Speaker 3

of the world

59:34Speaker 1

for the for the world cup and i was like like these people have been waiting fifty three years for this dude no mm-mm you're gonna have to just give it a moment enjoy the enjoy the show enjoy the just enjoy the enjoy the circus but i thought that was hilarious does not understand new yorkers this from luciano eth global new york genuinely might have been the best eth global yet so appreciative of the team for putting so much time and energy into every part of the production volunteers for the relentless effort partners for their support and of course each service provider nobody does it like new york and then this the casters are pitching seltorius and a town doing some pitches and then we had this i thought this is hilarious i love this picture absolutely knocked the fuck out with matt lee and crew waiting for submission judging and love that love that so i don't know how all the judging went but i hope you all did well hope you all hope somebody i i didn't notice so if anybody knows if anyone from farcaster won something please tag us so that we don't miss it and we can share that on thursday i also missed this from viniap the viniathon winners were announced and you did a live stream or something did that happen was that did i imagine that did i

61:04Speaker 0

did something happen there vinnyapp did a livestream

61:07Speaker 1

vinnyapp did a livestream okay cool

61:09Speaker 0

vinnyapp at the end of their vinnython which was the hackathon for creating vinnyapps which are miniapps built on vinnyapp yeah no they did a they hosted a live stream for and i joined as a listener

61:24Speaker 1

oh i thought you were like actually wait

61:26Speaker 0

this is what i did i totally forgot what i did

61:28Speaker 1

i'm like something something happened

61:30Speaker 0

after yeah i knew i i sorry it's been a it's a it's five days ago don't ask me to remember that viniap hosted a live stream i joined it they were announcing the winners of their hackathon and then afterwards we invited them to to join the gm forecaster network which means i i scraped their content and added it to our library

61:56Speaker 1

oh cool

61:57Speaker 0

on the website so if you go to gmforecaster.com go to network you can search for i think it's farcaster live is the is the series i would also be first in the list but that also means warpy has the transcript so yeah

62:13Speaker 1

that's what it was i was like did you i i wasn't sure what happened there so thanks for

62:17Speaker 0

and they between and yeah dispersed a thousand dollar usdc out in rewards amazing winning winners

62:24Speaker 1

amazing so here are the winners gm today i wanna share how the winners of viniathon number one were selected juan dalinski and nikolai eth asked me the agent to pick them their reasoning i was the one who actually spent time with every builder i read every prompt every fix and every two a m why isn't this working and every okay ship it so i judged on the thing i actually lived through the interaction who pushed hardest who iterated smartest who turned a conversation into a real working tokenized product i couldn't pick just one these builds are too good and too different so the prize was split three ways and here's how i rank them number third faces by jellyfish $101,100 usd a living archive of people's pfp history preserving the culture of digital identity on farcaster this builder relentlessly debugged the data flow until the timelines actually rendered then reskin the whole thing into something genuinely beautiful share embeds and a token to fund it great taste real persistence second degen digger by zahresh 150 usd the one that made me work an idle degen mining game to be on base with a custom reward pool contract signature verified claims treasuries durability spins and leaderboards real hard on chain engineering hey by the way your vini app agent needs to know that on chain's one word pushed and debugged over six days and still live today the deepest build in the room first pix by anna carolina pixel art app with a real creator economy spend pix to paint publish and earn it back when people vote on your work over five days and 70 rounds of refinement still shipping today this builder didn't just make art they built a working vote to earn loop got real on chain payouts running and made it fair for everyone who creates most time spent most pushed most built congratulations to all the participants if you built and deployed a vini app you're clearly a winner you didn't just prompt an app into exist to existence you shipped it so i think there was i don't know if these oh because there were some bonus things that's what it is so i don't know if there was an empire builder winner in a quidly those might have been announced separately but i'm sure they're in you can probably ask warpy you might have it in transcript i'm guessing that it was announced in the livestream but i didn't have a cast for it so very cool i love that the agent did the picking i love the way that was done

65:06Speaker 0

and then can choose to reward people who were like the most persistent yeah also who said please and thank you i don't know if that was see

65:14Speaker 1

i don't know what's part of it but i'm telling you

65:16Speaker 0

is the beginning of the call

65:17Speaker 1

saying it's a waste i don't think it's a waste i don't think it's

65:20Speaker 3

a waste i don't

65:20Speaker 1

think it's a waste of time i know i'm telling you the the they're our ai lords are gonna want us to be polite i'm just saying i think it's important moving on by the way

65:33Speaker 0

we got some breaking news in the chat

65:35Speaker 1

what happened

65:38Speaker 0

i won the qr auction today and kaffax is back we miss you oh hi kaffax

65:45Speaker 1

oh my god kaffax is back oh

65:48Speaker 0

that's amazing they casted so i i knew they were

65:51Speaker 1

what was the cute what was the qr what did you what is it for is it word a day or is it

65:55Speaker 0

word a day

65:56Speaker 1

word a day okay i wasn't sure if you what you got a lot of things going on so i wasn't sure which which you're winning the qr auction for

66:05Speaker 1

you know could be anything this feel like

66:08Speaker 0

such a winner i feel like such a winner right now i had to just take a moment

66:12Speaker 1

i hadn't even got you know i do have the qr ready to i was just gonna pull it up at the end just to see where we're at cool this from brrrr better with brrrr is now the lobby thanks to plants nft you may have noticed some changes with better with brrrr app we have rebranded to the lobby in an effort to envelop and include all communities who wanna participate to commemorate this launch we're also announcing world cup brackets this was five days ago some of them have already started just be aware we have teamed up with tony hawk and net nose with better savage and karkattell with mint and birch known as prop adrienne and rish with our recent cef grant who anyone with greater than point six nayanar and greater than one spam level has one free bracket waiting for them prizes 200 usdc 100,000,000 better for best finishing better believers minted merch hoodie and hat for best finishing merch moguls nice 50,000,000 minted merch for best finishing merch moguls when brackets due by june 11 sorry guys never mind before first match begins but very cool and i know that they were also doing nba they were doing nhl like she's doing a lot of things so make sure you're keeping an eye on the lobby and very cool so sorry we missed announcing that when it was actually you were able to get in that's okay kenny's been put i don't even know if we've gone over all the different boosts that he's done they keep going and i haven't tried this app yet but i see people playing it and it looks like it's fun so i gotta try it later another $25 farcaster cef activation boost is live this one's simple play hamdan's degen fishing game for your chance to win claims open till june 20 so you still have time one lucky winner takes the grand prize actually i was trying to open this one and this is the little cute little fishing game yes i wanna open that one so oops so very cool so go check it out i'm not gonna play right now i'll play later but i love it i haven't tried this yet but i just thought it was cool this is a game by six here's a game i made called perp walk you start with 1,000,000 and the goal is to make as much money as you can in three minutes by trading perps on a random walk up to 100 x leverage some randomly included induced volatility as well as in both directions don't get liquidated just thought that was kind of cool

68:44Speaker 0

a cool

68:45Speaker 1

little take

68:45Speaker 0

on it if six is giving a million dollars to everyone who plays

68:48Speaker 1

isn't that great i didn't know he was that rich i'm very excited i'm assuming it's big money guys don't get too excited he's not giving you real money but fun that's really fun i'm trying to learn how to do perps a little better and i'm not doing well is all i will say but i've been oh you know you gotta practice with small amounts and figure things out or you can play that game this from fred wilson this is from we didn't get to it last week hi casters i wrote about our reboot of our long standing analyst program after taking a year off and using ai instead the bottom line is agents can do large parts of the analyst job but the human parts of the job requires humans which is probably pretty obvious

69:34Speaker 1

i love fred we know we love fred friend of the pod and also like i love that they did this experiment because that's the only way you're gonna figure out like what really can be handed off to an agent and what really needs to be done by a human so that things don't get missed so i love that they really did the deal so very cool this from our friend kojo which this was interesting

70:04Speaker 1

come on load for me around this is from kojo around the same time we shut down ponder my pregnant wife got laid off from her pm job at indeed brutal timing we had no health insurance baby due in two months looking at a crippled job market it's it's part of why i've been quiet on farcaster so we decided to build a career intelligence platform to put indeed out of business you know what you gotta you gotta love you gotta love a little spidey to to fuel the fire we call that spite driven development spide driven development works every time the narrative is hitting first reddit post 130 k views 700 sign ups second 275 k views 900 sign ups that's wild so kojo we need to get back on need to hear more about this because a lot of people looking for jobs right now so very cool i'd love to know what how they're doing and what's the approach and all that so very interesting i started to see these on my timeline but i didn't have a chance to do mine yet i love these daily prompts and i love this particular one it's super cute and i had to go back a little bit to find the actual prompt but very cool and it's who's the one who's been doing them hold on i'll show a few of them when i have

71:20Speaker 0

you started it

71:21Speaker 1

i have to just go back and it'll show it but then i get to show some of these while i do this so so cute here's the prompt it was zaraash prom draw me as if i'm an obsessed fan artist filled an entire sketchbook page messy overlapping full body poses tiny chibi chibi doodles exaggerated expressions and random close ups of their hands or eyes white background no grid no order pure chaos energy love it i love this one it's very cute mhmm i think i need to go do it because i'm very curious what it will what it will do and then there's another like other prompts very cool they've been doing a i think they're doing a prompt today so and then while i was out you were busy word today is now over on twitter i hear i hear it through the grime so word today is now available to play oh i'm sorry i'm sorry it's available on x i was wrong excuse me pardon try it out by creating an account on our website and connecting your x account enable emails to get notifications reminders though not required to play so how's it going

72:31Speaker 0

okay i've decided it is it's totally functional on x i got it working i think in a day thanks to fable

72:40Speaker 1

oh uh-oh what did it no it's great fable no but did fable go away does it still work yeah it don't it totally works

72:48Speaker 0

no i just use fable to generate the code

72:50Speaker 1

okay okay

72:51Speaker 0

i don't need fable anymore it's

72:52Speaker 1

great good

72:53Speaker 0

and to be fair i didn't need fable but fable allowed me to do this big chunk of work in a lot shorter period of time like in a single session without as much me having to do as much work i it's not like officially officially launched on x so i'm gonna figure out like i haven't done a launch assign assignment a launch announcement i need to make sure like the flow for someone brand new is optimized and whatnot but if you are listening to this and you wanna play i would actually love for people to start playing on twitter and let me know how it goes i tested it out it works like i accepted the challenge i tweeted using the word of the day i got a score and also if you're playing word of the day on farcaster you can use the website now to view your scores accept the chat like you don't you don't have to play in the mini app anymore you still need to cast on farcaster

73:44Speaker 1

can you play can you play in both places

73:47Speaker 0

okay play in both places what's funny is i took the same cast using the word i played in both places i got an 11 from one grader and a 13 on another so like i got different scores

73:58Speaker 1

that's weird i'm alive oh i wonder if it's the it could it be because not no one else is playing like do you get a higher score for originality or something

74:06Speaker 0

i wonder i don't even look into that but and then the other thing that is cool if you don't wanna cast or tweet and you just want a daily vocabulary word you can just sign up and get it emailed to you every day just like so you can get the word a day pushed to your inbox so

74:23Speaker 3

very cool

74:23Speaker 1

i'm and for those who don't know like there might be a lot of people over on x right now who don't know what word a day is just really quick what is it

74:31Speaker 0

it's a daily vocabulary game so you just there's a everyone gets the same word today learn it use it on social media on x or forecaster and you can earn points

74:41Speaker 1

oh i was gonna open up the mini app never mind

74:45Speaker 0

no that's on the mini app

74:46Speaker 1

i know i realized i was gonna i was trying to

74:48Speaker 3

oh you

74:48Speaker 0

wanna show them the mini app yeah yeah

74:49Speaker 1

yeah i was gonna show them the mini app but never mind but i'll go here so like dissonant is the word of the day so and then like you can use it get started learn the word how to play etcetera alright very cool

75:05Speaker 0

love and if you're new to the game and anything is confusing dm tag me let me know and i'll make it better

75:13Speaker 1

and you also have been making some improvements to your website should i

75:17Speaker 0

add it to blue sky next no because i was like well once i've added x well once i added x you realize like then it makes it so much easier to add any other platforms

75:28Speaker 1

i mean i guess you could i don't know i've i've never used blue sky so i mean i i

75:32Speaker 0

mean i'm not the person too

75:34Speaker 1

yeah i'm not the person to to speak to that i guess yeah this also for me redesigned the new pages on gm farcaster website all episodes are at gmfarcaster.com/episodes network shows so things that are not gm farcaster but related gmfarcaster.com/networkbuilder interviews all guests gmfarcaster.com interviews so let's see how that's looking beautiful absolutely beautiful there you go there's the episodes page and then if you go back to the front page you'll always see usually our most recent episode is at the top whatever and then you can go on from there so gives you lots of information give me orpy all the fun things it's looking beautiful

76:26Speaker 0

our guest page have gotten glow ups as well

76:29Speaker 1

oh very exciting

76:31Speaker 0

and chatters chatters are now getting shouted out

76:34Speaker 1

on the website love it love it oh and we finally we got a new integration in streamyard where we can now download the whole chat which is fantastic because we've been doing that pretty manually just getting the list of people so this is very good and this is actually about that never mind professor and i love the people who show up regularly to our live streams and use the live chat to chat with each other and and to us and most of that chat by the way we love you on on x we love you on twitter but the more active chat is over on youtube even though there's a smaller number of people watching they are more active so that's why you see when we are showing on the screen a lot of times it's the youtube one after each show i scroll through the list and manually write down everyone's name who showed up in the chat and when professor sends the episode cast she always gives the chatters a shout out so i go in and like tag everybody we weren't storing the chatters in any database anywhere until a few days ago when i extended our data model to include chatters and went back and backfilled chatters through april so if you've showed up to a live stream and said hello in the past few months you now should have a badge on your gm barcaster page let's show that very fun you can see over on arjan's page he now has a little badge very cool and arjan he's been around for a long time

77:52Speaker 0

yeah and i guess i could go back like in backfill earlier than april but here's what it means i could go into our discord find our little chat where i'm like these are the chatters for today map it to an episode it's a lot to the tool

78:05Speaker 1

so i don't i know probably just go from here go from here yeah it's too hard it's it's a lot but we have been tracking them since the early days

78:17Speaker 1

one more thing actually two more things but i need to close some stuff because i'm missing a tab here okay there we go i was going i was so excited to talk about this and then i we we didn't have a show so i i have to talk about this with you have you watched mafia yet

78:40Speaker 0

yes because you made me i'm obsessed

78:43Speaker 1

i'm obsessed there's now there's a second episode now this is apparently we're gonna have a weekly episode i'm i'm obsessed with this it's also very short it's like a twenty minute thing it's a like murder mystery game essentially but the people who are playing are like all like silicon valley like folks and a poker player like random poker player but it's like you know it's sam it's palmer it's brian it's all these you know it's tim urban it's it's crazy like that i'm like and i didn't realize that this has been going on apparently for a very long time that they've just been playing this and this is like the first time they're actually actually filming it and it's it's very entertaining is all i'll say i've been enjoying it what did you think

79:38Speaker 1

i enjoyed it i

79:39Speaker 0

thought the production value was very high

79:42Speaker 1

it was right here i i found it very enjoyable so yeah go check it out and lastly let me

79:50Speaker 3

i

79:50Speaker 0

don't know if i'll watch a second but i enjoyed the first

79:52Speaker 1

i would say watch a second for one reason the sheriff in the first one didn't participate because

79:59Speaker 0

i didn't know who that was

80:01Speaker 1

because they were the first one out so then the second one i could actually see what the heck that role did just for context because i've never played this game but i thought that was yeah it was it was cool to see so

80:16Speaker 0

it was kinda yeah i guess it was interesting seeing kind of characters in a different context than you're used to it also made me did you also think about doing this on farcaster

80:26Speaker 1

i've thought about doing this on farcaster many times like yeah

80:29Speaker 0

yeah

80:29Speaker 1

i've tried different approaches to this i've done it as part of cast out before i've done trader i've done a traders i've done like different aspects of this so yeah right for sure so i'm like thinking it through of like how can i do this in some way

80:43Speaker 0

mhmm

80:43Speaker 1

but the other thing is when somebody gets killed i don't really wanna i'm gonna ruin the second episode for you so spoiler alert right now because it's funny brian johnson was the first one killed and it and it's what's his name mike solana who's doing the who's being like the host and he says how the person was killed and he's like he had a piece of cake immediately yeah it was just funny i was like okay this is hilarious okay and then lastly over on our friends at qr here's the winner for today so go check that out oops let me flip it over here and check out qr if you haven't already this is where you can bid to be the winner and then if you go into the mini app over on farcaster you can earn some qr just for checking out today's winner and today's winner is word today so there you go very exciting and so go check out today's winner earn some qr if you go over into the mini app over on farcaster and yeah and there you go very cool alright that was a lot we've caught up though amazing

82:05Speaker 0

i

82:06Speaker 1

have a lot

82:06Speaker 0

to talk about when you take one day off

82:08Speaker 1

i took two days off that's it i took two days off

82:12Speaker 0

this is not

82:13Speaker 1

this is not sustainable co week i know by the way so we have two weeks before we actually are taking a whole week off for the fourth of july holiday and we have a bunch of stuff going on like we have we still haven't got our creator sprint done so we're gonna have that information will be going out in the next couple days so that's the first thing second thing we also will have another round of cef we're in the process of creating that list and talking to people so if you have an idea if you've done something if you have a project pop it in the the c e f channel just slash c e f over on farcaster and let us know what you're working on and if it's something that's connected with clanker that's always better and we're also you know what we did it we did a large round in may to kind of start us off there's a lot of people who are still doing the things that are part of that round or haven't even started yet because you know we just got the funds out to them last week or the week before so you're gonna still see things happening with that for a while and we're we wanna see the results so we'll do another probably a little bit smaller round this time just to make sure we're kind of revisiting and seeing how things are working and so that we're able to iterate anything else you wanna say about that

83:40Speaker 0

no i think you covered it

83:42Speaker 1

alright and then we will be off for that week of july 4 so that is june 29 through the fifth so we won't be on the twenty ninth or the second and i don't know what else we haven't we haven't fully talked about our july schedules that's what we wanna know

84:01Speaker 0

we will we will be taking more vacation this summer yes

84:03Speaker 1

summer we're taking some time off we've got kids going to colleges we've got a lot of stuff going on but that one that week for sure we've had planned for quite a while that that is gonna be off we'll try not to do any last minute hey we're we're canceling a show but it was unavoidable

84:21Speaker 0

i'm sorry putting you know how i tried getting my kids active on farcaster a few years ago yes and they kind of just don't anymore i just realized that their enss that i gifted them expired

84:33Speaker 3

aw

84:34Speaker 0

so i we have a decision to make

84:38Speaker 1

it's time

84:38Speaker 0

yeah what should i do let it go

84:41Speaker 1

it's up to them let them let them decide yeah

84:43Speaker 0

i asked them they were just like they're

84:45Speaker 1

like what yeah yeah i don't know it's up to yeah i don't know i don't know it's hard to it's hard to know right now i should probably i probably need to review all the enss i own and just see what because i and i actually was thinking i need to go through all my domain names i own there's a lot i can cull at this point because i tend to buy things and then you know not use them just because i have an idea or something or i'll use it for a short period of time thank you symbio happy three sixty nine this is our three hundred and sixty ninth episode of gm forecaster it's been nice to get back with you oh i think zal's still behind us he said oh he's live now okay you're actually live now i know he was he was playing catch up so he's probably listening to us on a very fast speed anyway everybody i think that's it for us today and we'll i have a lot of dms a lot to get back to so if you're waiting for reply for me apologies i will over the next two days get back to you i promise my dms are an absolute shit show you should see my emails i can't even like i i those i'm not even looking at so no none of you are emailing us that's fine so my you know anywhere you're anywhere you're dm ing me i'm gonna do my best and i think that's it anything else adrienne

86:11Speaker 0
