god illinois yesterday governor pritzker signed a point 2% tax on crypto transactions into law including transfers between personal wallets i think that may or may not be true that part with the crypto council for innovation calling it the most punitive digital asset tax in the country so my comment was do they also tax point 2% when you send funds from venmo to your bank account it is a tax on every transfer that you do at least on exchanges but also it mentioned i think it's mentioned defi exchanges too like uniswap and things like that so it's a little confusing as to what exactly it's gonna track but when i put it through chatgpt i took the bill and then i said okay here's an example if i'm doing this if i have a you know hun if i have bitcoin and then i swap it to usdc and then i do something else and then i you know transfer it out you could be getting this point 2% tax multiple times on the same funds because it's hitting every single transaction so it's ridiculous it's not gonna hold up in court there's been similar things they've tried with stocks and things like that in the past in florida and georgia it was ruled unconstitutional so it's probably not gonna hold up but it's clear like from the way it's written they have zero education about about this and they're just trying to do a cash grab and it's really frustrating so back to this thank you again for those who were in washington yesterday trying to help us avoid these kind of crazy things and sorry for you in illinois it doesn't go into effect until january 2027 and i guarantee you i already saw a couple attorneys saying we'll see you in court so they're on it so anyway but frustrating in other news okay so

by the way home feed algos no longer use the spam label and this was in comment to v rose saying the more i work on the farcaster code base the more convinced i am that the top reason was a bad spam model this model marks most people including me who works for neymar who works for farcaster spam while a select mostly handpicked few are designated high quality and were boosted in the feed the boosting of those select few contributed to the cabal effect that many users could sense on the timeline over the past week i've replaced the use of the old spam label with the nayanar score in the home feed algos bit by bit as of today home feed algos no longer use the spam label at all engagement and diversity of authorship in the home feed have grown as clear results of swapping the model so there you go and that was in response to femi making a note about about some of the some of the failures of merkel so that's good news for those who've been against the spam label now you know it's now but it is using the neynar score which is a much broader taking it a lot more into account to get that score so that's good

here's the bigger bigger news we have b 20 coming there was and i'm not going to play the audio on this but you can go check it out b20 is like in a a token protocol a token standard that is gonna be on base so it is a new trusted ez token standard for issuing any asset on chain and this includes stocks and other things not just meme coins so this is a much bigger thing and this was part of coinbase's system update they did one back in december thus began the major decline right after literally you can time it that's when everything with base started to go whoop and everything went crazy and the base app completely changed direction was after that first system decline back system update back in december and then this is the second one they've done with a number of different updates about coinbase as well as base so i did sit down and watch it it was interesting it was incredibly different than the last one the vibe the
everything it was it was it was wild to see the difference in what's going on with like the vibe at coin coinbase they've lost 14% of their work force since then it felt quieter and shout out to the one guy in the front row he must have got bonuses for clapping i don't know he was the clapper for the whole thing there was literally just the front row clapping but there was one guy just like clapping like crazy so shout out to that dude he did a great job keeping it going keeping that enthusiasm up it was it was very interesting but it was you could feel a vibe shift there very different so here was some of the major news from that was b20 base's native token standard built for stablecoins designed for real world assets rwas empowering long tail token issues single proof withdrawal finalization reduced from seven to five next gen client upgrades powering base up up to 50% dis reduction whole a whole bunch of other things there was a bunch of other stuff that was coinbase related but this is the barrel hard fork that is the major upgrade for base so b 20 is the big one there was also a discussion about privacy and vale was shouted out so they're gonna different they're adding privacy to i don't know if it's going directly to the wallet but privacy transactions as well and then the b 20 so this is the new token standard compre compreni said seems like they're following tempo's lead here rish is the clanker b 20 coming soon because clanker got a shout out during this so they said it's coming on base and clanker and should we expect breaking changes and then this from yes clanker b20 is coming soon likely not at the same time as the b20 rollout but soon after specific date tbd b20 is a superset of erc20 it's fully compliant to the standard it just has some extra features that make basic operations cheaper and more consistent and then you have the github there if you want to take a look here's the interface it's a pre compile so there's not yet impl listed but you can test with the foundry setup they have using the pre compile address constraints also then there's he's asking some questions so if you have thoughts on this if you were a a dev go take a look at this and add some you know comments or what have you so that was really interesting it was interesting to see clanker shouted out right there the other thing the other big thing was the ai agent for trading built into coinbase shout out banker inspiration i assume there was a few other major things that i'm forgetting the token the stock one to one tokenization was a big one the agent that they're that they have the trading agent is registered with the sec

awesome first of all thanks for having me great to meet you finally like i've been watching you a lot of days and i i know you since we were building for casting the early days last year so so and

fair terms terms but but yeah we started with cody in for casting and this is how we basically started building mini apps and it was our our free ex experience on web three so so we we love forecasting
wow that's amazing and cody is so fun if you guys haven't played cody it's a like it's a game to like unlock you like have to come up with this code it's emojis and we used it for a cast out we did a game in cast out with it and it was so fun it was one of my favorite challenges that we did in cast out the last time
yeah the good good story is actually pretty pretty fun i can we can we can dump into that later it's it's actually how we started terms and we have a very cool stories how we met jack the founder of planker for that and so it's very interesting to say later about terms so terms is what we're building with terms is a place for people to tap discover and trade ai characters everyone is talking about agents and we all worry about how good the agent economies and base and and people having personal agents our bet with that is that we know agents are gonna be powerful but we're going we're building the emotional consumer layer first so every agent we think in the future will be a character and you will be using the agents that not the ones that are more capable but the ones we trust and for that you need to create an emotional connection with the character right so this is what we're focusing first on characters because we believe that will be the main differentiation in the future that that will be the same basically that's that's gonna be solved the thing that is not solved is the emotional bond that you create with someone or some or or someone's or some entity right so so we're focusing on that and terms is a place where you where you can find characters you can tell with them you can own a little a little piece of the character because we've seen already on web two that a lot of fans of these characters are actually becoming like like they feel like owners because they're talking with them daily so what we're doing is we're creating an economy right for everyone to own a little bit a little piece of that character and then we also enabling creators to earn through this economy one of the main problems right now on the character economy on web two is that creators create characters fans talk to them they create an emotional bond but they don't see any upside of that so what we're doing is we are enabling an economy behind every character so the creators can also monetize and if the funds tap with the character if the investors and believers decide to give more attention and trade the character they will also earn through that so yeah samsung was live one month ago so it's been a hell of a month and we just recently launched on firecast it was something we always wanted to do we tried tried to target it for day one but we prefer to make sure that the mini app was built already for forecastr with not the function like like you could actually you don't have to log in you have seamless logging you can start things so wanna wanna make sure that it's the right time and and now that we did it we're so excited

made it yesterday mini app is really well done and and smooth i so you start by creating a character and nice little wizard flow give it a name you give it a little personality the the app will give suggestions for kind of what type of vibe and personality you want

i have to check i think i don't remember mine was like probably earn sincere and earnest and then there's like different personality traits because it's like and then i uploaded an image of my pfp which is who's named hannibal as as everybody who's ever looked closely knows and and then you can start chatting with it so you can start a conversation like i think one of the characters my my my character wants to like get really get to know somebody in a in an earnest way so it was like really asking me questions it was like i need i'm gonna ask questions to to get to know you made me a little paranoid we had a nice little chat had definitely had a personality and then this morning i went in to see to check and then i realized you can make memes off your character so that's looks seems like a separate thing so i was like okay generate meme and i said okay generate a meme that i'm running late for a podcast because that's

and i think that's all i said the prompt was like you know running running late for a podcast fox yeah fox running very late for a podcast recording that's what i created and then you can share that right to the feed which i then i guess brings other people to your character because i don't think anyone was chatting with it yesterday because i hadn't shared it and now these look like other people who have generated memes off of hannibal cool and you created you did yours all in the
mini app i'm showing the website just because it it you can see it better on the screen but the i'm assuming the create meme and all that is in the mini app as well yeah so yeah cool and then you can trade the does it create a token for you in that name as well so this is the hannibal token i'm assuming gone okay that's
correct yeah so when you create a character you can decide if it's public that basically means that anyone can see it can see with and tell with it and the main thing is that by being public it also has a market a token powered by clangr by the way so and this is the main twist we're adding to the to the character economy by adding a token to the character it's forever free to chat with honeywell like you don't need to pay as a user and this is a major outlook right now on web two if you go to character ai which is the bigger player right now users either pay $30 per month or they have an experience full of ads the character forgets the model they're using is not good enough for connect emotionally so what we're doing is we we we have a character that remembers you forever that you don't see ads and it's a really powerful model so you get to enjoy it but you don't need to pay the one that pays is the market the market by believers or traders thinking that this character could be an interesting asset they trade it and that generates fees that not only pays a creator but also pays honeywell compute so we're not targeting the front end and this is something that we think is gonna unlock a major user growth for people that are discovering characters just discovering characters not not trading by just offering the best experience for free
that's great because yeah that's a big issue is like you have to still cover costs and things like that so when it has the token attached with it that helps to cover that without having to add an additional yeah agreement especially when you don't know when you probably don't know yet whether or not it's going to take off kind of thing did you wanna share your screen i see yeah
exactly i just wanted to explain this because i think it's it's one of the major analog subterms so if you go to hannibal you see already that people traded right so this is very interesting because what we explained here in the app and this is the trade that happened right so for example there was four minutes ago a trade on the open market of $172 so what this generates it's adrienne this is getting $1.38 that's for you that's for you and you're gonna get it tomorrow every day twenty four hours you don't need to worry about claiming or anything it's automatically in your account the protocol terms earns a part of that but also honeywell as a character and this is very important because now honeywell has money to pay for his ai like users are gonna already talking with honeywell that's gonna take also how many chats there's been already five users and 33 chats that are that's talking with with honeywell so this is free but it's paid by the trading that happened before so this is the major outlook that i was talking before and we tried to explain also in the app store we wanna understand this a bit this is what we think is gonna unlock not just the trenches and attention from the on-site economy but also creators from character ai and web two users from web two trying this product

with question and really important right now so the character can be public or private if it's private it's just for you you can update it anytime it doesn't have a token just talk with it you have like a daily usage you can use it for free and if you think it's ready you can launch it to the world that means that the character cannot change why is this because one of the main frustrations of users on character ai and other platforms is that they feel like from one name to another their their friend is different and and this is super important like if you go to reddit you will see user saying my friend it doesn't feel the same or it literally does because either the model changes or the system prompt like change it so we need we want to make sure for the users that when they chat with a character that will not change the only thing that changes is a memory and how the character gets to know you but nothing about the model nothing about the personality will be forever the same we're working on a on a way for you to launch updates to the character so people will be opting to those that will be a way to you as a creator to let's say like you want to make the character learn something but users will always have to go through that and see what changes on the on the soul of the character and decide if you wanna try it or not but always they can roll back to their to their friend and because this is the main frustration right now on on web two and we're trying to solve it by this way

100% like we so the idea of characters and our vision with characters is that anyone can create what they want it's just that on the trans platform we will not showcase or or expose to the users character that might be harmful for all the users or with hate right that that's something that we we have to ban like everyday one or two characters and also we have guardrails on every model we use we use models that are not completely on sensor that i already have guardrails so so that is something that we also take care of because one of the main things with character ai also was users under 18 how are they using it is the characters recommending things to do that maybe they they shouldn't so we're really on top of that we're trusting this is why we're using kind of state of the art models for this and state of the art guardrails so we're using the same guardrails that top companies already have because we're using their model so so we should be good with that plus a moderation always always on
and then my so the reason i was asking about updates because i was thinking about you know if you're is it able is your character able to access outside data like if your care can can your character be asked questions and will it have like the latest information about that thing is what i mean
yeah and this is a good question because this is the next phase for terms right now we kind kind of for the first version we really nail the memory the soul look how you get to know the character it's more a conversation like a companion but what we're seeing right now is that users are already wanting some characters to became their agents or to have more information about the world right right now if you ask if you ask your character it will probably like about what's the weather today or something they would probably say you can like go look go look at yourself like a friend like like an agent but what we're doing right now is we are adding the possibility for characters to have what we call superpowers so more like a agentic processes where you already have the relationship with a character you already talk it like a friend but maybe you want it also to to to tech thing free right that that is an optional thing that we are enabling very soon that way is it will be like turning your favorite character into your agent your personal agent and yeah by that you will basically give it super superpowers to access to the internet access to your mail access to your notion to your linear to your firecaster account but we our bet is that we first need to nail the emotional thing the connection that is what will change everything and that will decide whether you use one agent or other

so i have a couple other questions do you think it's better to start with a private character can you make can you start private and then make it public yes so that you can kinda get it where you want
it to work before going public you can tell with it you can preview it but i think it's it's best if you have it like for a day talking to you like you get to see the personality you get to see because the character also learns about you right so it will change the kind of the system problem is the same but the memory system which is the most powerful piece in terms evolves right so that also you you need to spend a day or two with that in order to see how it plays out with with the personality so 100% staying private it's a it's a great choice if not don't worry because in two weeks we're launching a way for you to update public characters for users to accept it just bear in mind if you launch it private there's no economy so is this just for you just played out we actually have a lot of users that just using it private they want the character they wanna tell with it bond that's it but some of them might say okay this character is good enough i want to start with the world i want to make him an icon that's that's how we're goal like our goal is in terms to have characters that are also famous on web two they have their tiktok their instagram their forcastr account then they have millions of followers that that's our goal right and and for that i think it's first better better to start private and then when you're ready that's an icon

great use case fantastic use case we were yeah we've been trying to figure out some things and it's like why aren't we using that that's a great idea this is from flannel donut i somehow missed this one but this is very cool the stop motion process is always fascinating to me a lot goes into production storyboarding animatics set design character design puppet fabrication painting modeling lighting it really pulls in every single art form and unites them all in production here for our launch of stopmo in partnership with clanker a handful of months ago oscar winner suzanne twining coraline paranorman wendell and wilde etcetera used a down shooter which means the camera is suspended above her and everything is animated on its side using rigs and stands below i've included the animatic as well which is essential to production in stop motion an entire day's work yields roughly three to five seconds of usable footage which is why it's important to clearly map out what's happening in the scene so animators aren't wasting time animating something that will not get used hereby eliminating a cutting room floor waste so to speak and i just thought that was really cool i somehow missed this when they had shared this but really cool and glad she shared the background on that as well but that was for stop moe
