I can be critical of Warpcast so here's a thing they do great I think the automated spam stuff is fantastic it's very rare that I get notifications these days from accounts interacting with my stuff that are obvious bots hidden replies tend to be 95% accurate and only populated by AI spam too

PSA about the new version of channels 1. They're no longer single topics / hashtags. We tried hashtags for a year and they didn't work. There's no canonical /food channel anymore. Instead, there will be many smaller groups about a topic. 2. The best way to think about the new version of channels — a text-based Twitter Space. There's a group of people (members) "on stage" who can post new stuff in the channel, and a larger group in the "audience". However, anyone in the audience can reply and get discovered / invited to the channel. We've improved how replies work (and making it easy to invite from replies) in the last 24 hours. 3. Casting in your home feed, i.e. no channel, will give you just as much distribution in the algo. We have not been boosting casts from channels you follow but people you don't follow for a while. The results were too inconsistent. 4. Our next big focus will be onboarding new users directly to channels when joining Farcaster.

"How to build an audience? this is what I do and this is what other people do. Be thoughtful, genuine and kind to others. That doesn't mean you don't have to have a controversial opinion, or a spicy take on something. You can have them and they will be considered, but @farcaster_xyz is not about attacking other people. It is about having conversations and building connections"

Recently I’m realizing that I need a lot of time to just thing for myself. If I’m not careful I just read a bunch of stuff, and then I just regurgitate it as if it’s my viewpoint. And honestly that’s fine, if that’s your thing. But I honestly am more interested in perspectives but I’ve been thought through and kneaded like a dough over and over. I think we live in an age where everyone wants everything in an instant, and opinions of others are wanted constantly. But screw that, take your time and knead your dough is what I say. Don’t let others tell you otherwise. Your dough is precious - you don’t have to let others think for you all the time.

Mini milestone for Bountycaster - this past month was the first month where we had more $ going into the company than out (paying salaries, excluding airdrops and grants). Still fully bootstrapped with 2 people. Aiming for many more months like this

I have a just-for-fun side project where I record conversations with my old college friends and put it out as an onchain podcast on /base. We have virtually no audience, but we enjoy ourselves and I have a feeling I'll find it valuable in 20, 30, 40 years as a time capsule into what life was like for middle-aged women in the 2020s. did my first all day offsite yesterday with the @coinbase exec team. a few quick observations: 1. this is a real team — brian, emilie, alesia, max, & greg have now been working together for 5+ years — and it shows. 2. the level of rigor of strategic thinking + execution is incredibly high. thinking on the scale of years+decades, while consistently driving short term execution. 3. they get onchain — and are leading the way in shaping what it means to bring a massive public company onchain. I mostly listened and learned — I'm excited to be a part of this team and to bring the perspective I have from being in the onchain trenches every day with all of you. onwards!

gm - lotta prickliness i’m noticing on ct & fc (relative to its usual pace). a reminder that will sound obvious, but bears repeating Higher is a philosophical network $Higher is a community token They originate from two different wallets, two different individuals. But exist together bc of the industry they were born in if you associate ppl talking about bettering their life as shilling a token, that’s fine. if you use the philosophy to mask shilling the token, i wish you wouldn’t but it’s fine. anecdotal advice for the latter: nobody wants a shitcoin unless they want a shitcoin. the idea of h being ‘equity’ in an internet native philosophy i believe to be a possibility, but your time horizons must be elongated well beyond your comfort zone for the cynical that see any utterance of the verbiage we like to use in the network & think ppl want to grift you: prolly more correct than i’d hope atm but you’re also more incorrect than you’d expect
