why do people care about the active/power badge so much? like just keep casting and stop thinking about badges?

anyone who suggests we token-gate fundamentally doesn't understand live-streaming and how difficult it is to get people to show up at a specific time. adding additional constraints to entry is mid IQ. unlonely is about creating new novel experiences that anyone can enjoy. end of story.

i've been begging @briang to implement token-gating for months. this would take a competent mid-level engineer about half a day to ship, but for brian, 1-2 weeks (so i understand his hesitation). tho making simple calls to an nft contract onchain is a bit over his head, i will nonetheless keep working on him 🫡

Got a power badge but it's bittersweet. Some members of the Japanese WC community feel discriminated against as they are naturally not going to get likes from OG users due to the language barrier. Know these are the growing pains of the platform, but just thought I'd call out. Feels like an opp. to build a fix tho.
