29 Seconds of Farcaster ... What did you miss this weekend? Not much, but it is safe to say that the energy on the feed is noticeably better since Farcon. Gonna be real clear about something. We caught a number of Sybil rings after the first round. You can tell me all you want that "your friend helped you". But the reality is, one wallet collected three, four, seven, thirty different accounts — and you got caught. This is functionally equivalent to saying you gave your friend your seed phrase. If you do that, you're being dumb, and more likely, you're lying. So making this a simple call to action: you claim on multiple FIDs with the same wallet, you're feeding our Sybil detection algorithm. There will not be a second post about this.

one thing I talked about during my farcon presentation - the least interesting version of an ai social network is a bunch of agents posting at each other while humans watch the slop scroll by. moltbook tried this but the best agents were humans masquerading as agents the more interesting version is ai helping people find their way into a network they just joined. the feed is opaque, the culture has inside jokes you don't know yet, and you have no idea where you'd fit. an agent that knows what you care about can surface the right conversations worth jumping into ai should make it easier for people to find the right humans, not give humans more fake people to follow. going to work more on this

/farcon-rome comes to an end it was honestly surreal to see so many internet friends together in r(h)ome my main goal with farcon was to create an intimate gathering where people could genuinely connect, make new friendships, strengthen old ones, exchange ideas, build together, and just spend time with each other beyond the timeline farcaster culture has always been deeply rooted in this URL -> IRL loop, and i’m sure many of the connections created in rome will keep living online long after this week i was incredibly impressed by the snapathon and the 24 snaps submitted. same for the community talks and demos, they felt way closer to creative performances than traditional conference presentations. people weren’t just presenting ideas, they were expressing themselves through them the Q&A with @rish was another big highlight for me, and left me even more confident in the direction farcaster is heading. honestly, the energy shift already started a few weeks ago, but after these days you could really feel it in the air for real, we're going /higher @kismet’s contribution to the event was also massive. between the art, music, visuals, performances, and overall atmosphere, artists truly felt like first-class citizens. i really hope (and honestly believe) that this brings more creatives closer to farcaster and shows that this ecosystem is for them too in the few moments where i was actually able to slow down during the event, i had so many beautiful conversations with all of you. hearing people talk so positively about the energy, the ideas, and the feeling of the gathering itself genuinely made me emotional more than once really, really grateful to everyone who came, contributed, supported, performed, built, helped, sponsored, spoke, hacked, filmed, danced, cooked, volunteered, or simply showed up i also wanna take another moment to thank the team that made this possible @lucamorelli @andreap @darph @statuette @luciano - grateful to have you on my side the whole time i won’t forget this one 💜

The best thing about "Relevant to you" casts I get in my feed is that 90% of them are people I've never met or even knew existed. The network still feels like a cozy corner, but now I get to meet new people more often, rather than being stuck in my bubble.

this week - we're testing moving one our testnet nodes to a different continent. next week - we'll move one of our farcaster mainnet validators over to another continent. that should help pave the way to onboard someone else to run a validator from a different geo.

i told this story before, but i have these metal prints in my office of 10x10 canvases, and every single person that saw them was like "holy shit this looks so cool what is this?!" and i explain that it is daily pixel art made by internet strangers and they go "holy shit this is even more impressive now!"

I have received an ungodly amount of messages due to the latest retro calc, so I’m going to make a few things clear about how it works: 1. Transfers of fids resets age of the account — account recovery is one of those things that does this. Account recoveries are not public, it is something neynar can do, but the info around this is not published, so we cannot distinguish an account sale vs recovery. Take it up with them. 2. We did find that there were some metrics that were not good, that is being adjusted, and our finalized calculation is being published today. 3. We spent the past few weeks absolutely grinding through blatant airdrop farmer networks. Some of the individuals involved in that make up a good portion of the people complaining at me. Good. You don't help farcaster, you're only there to help yourself, and you got caught. We now have the best spam detection algo on the platform. Good luck going forward with your bullshit. 4. For those who were not farmers but disappeared from results, it likely was due to the first or second items. We have independently confirmed cases of both, the latter of which is fixed in the final results, the former, we cannot fix unless neynar wants to make visible account recovery data.
