in principle the fork is interesting. but some of the behaviors bubbling around the fork are pretty alienating to me. and maybe that's a good thing so people can pick their community values. I suppose that's what the fork is for! things I think are a net negative: - spike in discussion about airdrop criteria - "fuck you if [you dont agree with me]" - "the people who built farcaster classic were grifters/idiots/etc." - good vs. evil framing - wordcels leeching on the incredible shipping velocity of cassie and co. people who love using a lot of words to say nothing really benefit from "governance problems." and I enjoyed joining and participating in farcaster because crypto discords rotted away as these people took over. Don't want to be there again.

yes. let's run it back. A few thoughts: - i would love to see more experiments with minting in the feed. just how we turned token launchers into @ launch a token. we need @ mint ____. - get away from "mint" and move towards "collect". - the collect experience itself is as much part of the art as the final asset you receive. make it fun. - while the possibilities are infinite with AI you still need collections to feel cohesive - there's so much room to push generative art beyond just a random seed. take the user's social history, their onchain transactions, etc. to influence the art. art can be personal. i.e. people love your trippy PFPs and they love you when it make it *theirs*

Let's try something! I will help you improve your mini app. I've built some of the most viral mini apps on Farcaster including the Warplets mint that broke Farcaster on a Sunday night and brought in 30k Pro subscribers and $400k in pro sub revenue in less than a week. You can see the peek stats below. Beyond weird experiments on Farcaster, I'm a YC founder that can sell and write code to help some of the largest construction projects in the world. I will give an hour call helping you think through the virality loop in your mini app (or whatever else you want to ask) to the highest bidder of this cast. I've set the starting price to $50. You're not collecting this cast, you're buying some advice from me!

🎬 WARPLET SCENES Generate scenes with your Warplet friends. Just tag them! For now there is one theme to all scenes. Current theme is: TGIF Running this experiment up to 1000 generations. Must hold your original warplet to participate. One generation per person so pick your friends wisely. THIS IS NOT A MINT. I am FAFO with the Warplet factory. This is for fun. Expect bugs. Share your scenes!!! https://www.warplets.ai/scenes

at the end of yesterday's stream @linda asked me what advice i'd give to the other mini app builders. i gave a few mini app specific tips, but here are a few more on how I approach my building on FC: - keep experimenting and shipping. i've shipped a ton of mini apps and they're not all viral. but i learn (and have fun) with each one! - time box everything. be aggressive with your scope and just ship it. especially if you're solo. - use AI tools. my output has been multiplied by AI. but be smart about it! if you've never shipped a smart contract I wouldn't vibe code that. - compound your lego blocks. the more you ship the bigger your arsenal of random bits of useful code for your next mini app. the warplet mint was the culmination of 2 years of frame/mini app code I have from weekend hacks. the net new bit was the nanobanana pipeline with consistency. - optimize for learning vs scale. i'm probably the last person you want to ask for code quality advice. i'm not building for scale (that's a champagne problem) as was evident with warplets. i am a founder engineer at heart: I optimize for shipping fast and learning from usage. That said, in this space i'm also security conscious so I am paranoid about that. - know your audience. the TAM on farcaster isn't that big (yet). pick a community or audience you're trying to reach and make something they'll enjoy using. word travels fast around here. - if you're new to farcaster use FC native tools to expand your reach. @ampsfun @noiceapp @qrcoindotfun these tips are less applicable if you're trying to build a company vs a standalone mini app. but some still apply!

Something for FC devs to consider: Gate your mints by minimum $$ held in wallet. Everyone wins. Merkle wants more funded wallets. Devs benefit from more dry powder (not concentrated). I've seen a lot of people commenting on how I should've charged more for mints instead of routing all that money to Merkle via Pro subs. Coulda, shoulda, woulda but I also don't think Warplets go as wide as they did with a higher mint price. So no point in speculating that. The Pro req was a decision I had to make to try and slow down the massive spike in traffic that brought the mint site down (and Farcaster on Sun night). I didn't think the conversion rate would be that high. And after reflecting on it a bit I think it's a net positive for that money to flow into the ecosystem. How it's dispersed isn't up to me but hopefully it goes into wallets that then spend it on another dev projects. But I wish it hit the wallets in the ecosystem faster. That got me thinking. How could I have achieved a similar effect without locking the money up in Merkle rewards? And maybe requiring the wallet to hold a certain amount of eth might've been a better stopgap + the money would've been more instantly spendable on other apps in the ecosystem. I wouldn't have charged more because the low mint fee was key to the virality methinks but I would've had a signal that this person is ready and willing to spend before I use my own money to generate them image. That's all the Pro sub requirement was really. And if more wallets keep a constant balance of even something as small as $10 we can have more viral moments like this.

Warplet lore: On Sunday night I was weighing more complex traits or just shipping it. I had this queued up for the night: Use past casts to add an “affinity” to each Warplet. Affinities would be Farcaster icons like degen hat, bracky sports items, etc I chose to just ship it 🤷‍♂️ But one cool bit: each Warplet does have unique traits. That’s how the images get created. I saved the traits as json but chose to put them on chain because they’re all pretty much unique and not OpenSea friendly. Maybe I’ll dump them somewhere.

This cast may or may not be collectible* This is self-referential, experimental onchain art. Only ONE person can collect the NFT via the embedded mini app. To claim the NFT you must win the bid on this cast. The owner of this Farcaster collectible cast will unlock the "mint" button. They will receive the associated 1 of 1 onchain image with their FID as token id and their FID displayed in the onchain image. https://www.harmonybot.xyz/collectiblecast

been traveling so I'm late to announce but thank you @pichi for the reminder. There will be a @livecaster chat for tomorrow's TBA stream! Tune in tomorrow! Add the mini app for a notification when the chat goes live. The mini app works in TBA after you've created a signer via FC! https://livecaster.vercel.app/

haha that's amazing! I'll make a tiny tweak to fix this. When I had checked Aethernet on day 1 it was "casts like a bot" but a lot has changed! Part of the label weighs FIDs openrank and airstack ranks positively since 2 weeks ago it was pretty safe to assume bots wouldn't achieve positive reputations. So high enough ranks will nudge you from bot to human cast machine. Time to update that! That said... I feel pretty good about the classification. Historically human cast machine has mapped to either people who cast the same things over and over again or accounts that were mostly LLM operated with human sock puppeting, which is exactly what Aethernet is!

a totally made up word so don't feel bad! it's what I'm calling farcaster native apps (frames + actions + etc) https://warpcast.com/sayangel/0x8579d21c
