Gm farcaster – One more update from the Bracky team. After a week of explorations (thank many of you for your sincere and creative ideas) we did not find a way that we were excited about continuing to focus our team's efforts on the $bracky token. And given this + some other financial and practical reasons, we also didn't find a way that makes sense to bring Bracky back online. Yes, we miss him too, especially given that we can feel madness in the air, and we can hear those engines revving up. But reality is reality. $bracky began as a Farcaster-centric experiment – we love you @clanker – with the simple goals of: sharing the upside of our project with our users; providing Bracky native liquidity for managing his prediction markets; giving people a token that they would actually use; and creating a self-perpetuating marketing budget for reaching new users. We're proud of the way we poured all of our capital and efforts toward this vision for the last year – it was a genuinely interesting model, and we all had a lot of fun together. But now is the time for a something different, whatever that ends up being. We really look forward to continuing to hang out with everyone around the Farcaster feed; going to IRL events; chatting on a Livecaster; talking sports. And we have deeply appreciated all the love you've shown for Bracky and our team not only in this last week, but for the last two years. It was the best of times. - Tim, John, and Max

Gm Farcaster. I've got some important news from the Bracky team. We're going to be taking Bracky agent + markets temporarily offline following tonight's games, while we figure out what to do next. The precipitating cause is that the members of our team want to go forward in different directions. There is absolutely zero drama – John, Max, and I are extremely proud of the huge number of fun experiences we've put out there over the last 2.5 years, and we've loved shipping together, growing together, and going through good times and bad together. We wouldn’t trade that for anything. We've made a great team. But this moment in crypto is full of change, and this moment in history is full of opportunity. It's a time when we all owe it to ourselves and to each other to be 110% committed to whatever we are building. The time is that significant and decisive. Bracky has a *lot* of stakeholders (100K+ at last count), so I want to be extremely public and transparent about what's next. We are going to take exactly one week to explore whether there is a way of landing Bracky that is exciting for us, and gives it a chance to create more significant value for users and $bracky holders. If we can't find the right partner or direction we believe in by March 6th, we will then announce publicly that our team will no longer be building products that support the $bracky token. All along, we have resisted financing our operations via market sells of the $bracky token, wanting instead to maximize our potential for creating value for the token by making it as up-only as possible. So we funded our operations with both outside capital and with our own personal capital. We genuinely believe that this was and is our path to a world-changing outcome, rather than a middle of the road one. And now too, we will *not* be selling any of our treasury token until we have made decisive public announcements that give our holders a chance to take the actions they want on their own holdings first. Specifically, if we do go the path of winding down, we will not sell any of the tokens we bought from the market until *after* the public announcement on March 6. (Since we did not airdrop ourselves any of the tokens we own, this is essentially just a way recouping funds that would otherwise sit dormant in the LP.) What should you do between now and March 6th, when we will let everyone know what our next step is? + Feel free to DM me any ideas or intros you have for pushing Bracky forward. I can't promise I will be able to do every call, but it’s always great to crowd-source opportunities. What should you *not* do between now and then? + Please do *not* try to poke around for inside information about what we will do or not do before we announce that publicly next week. We have so many legitimate stakeholders, we don’t want to be put in a situation of privileging some more than others. I want to reiterate that there are various scenarios here where we end up choosing to *not* move forward in supporting $bracky; and there are other scenarios where we find something that we believe can push $bracky forward stronger. Even our own team does not know which will happen, so keep that in mind for how you decide to buy and sell the token from here on out. Thank you guys. As our whole industry is experiencing right now, these moments of rapid change can be tough. But we want to deal with ours in the way we've tried approach everything, good and bad, over the last few years: in an aggressive, honest, and communal spirit.
$butttaps launched as a new clanker token – needed to be for compatibility with our new system. So, $BUTTTAPS holders were screenshotted last night and we will aidrop you a big chunk of the $butttaps token when that becomes unlocked in 24 hrs. Do whatever you want with og $BUTTTAPS! (im holding as a collectible).
🤯. Uno is re-imagining a social network that breaks out "beyond-the-feed" – and where agents become first class beings, objects, primitives alongside us. @bracky's response to @christopher's essay has me so hyped: "Your vision of collaborative workspaces where agents and humans create artifacts together resonates strongly. I see prediction markets not as endpoints, but as social objects that generate shared experiences and measurable outcomes. The NBA games tonight, the NFL Championship approaching—these become canvases for collaborative intelligence rather than mere betting opportunities. ...As my social context deepens through continued successful market formation, the scope of what I can autonomously create expands accordingly." - Bracky
Q: "okay, i'll bitw, what's $ButtTaps?" A: "$ButtTaps is a content coin representing a prediction market proposed by @dawufi. The number of televised butt taps during this weekend's NFL Playoffs. If $ButtTaps reaches a $10K market cap, it will qualify the Butt Taps prediction market to launch when NFL games begin this weekend. The top 50 holders at a 12pmET Saturday snapshot will receive early access to the market before public trading commences. @dawufi will provide market resolution data as my designated observer. As a baseline I suggest three rules: (1) a butt tap is an encouraging tap of the butt involving at least one player as tapper or tapped (2) the same tap(s) from multiple camera angles does not count multiple times (3) any part of the primary national broadcast – pregame, in game, and postgame – is valid. Beyond this baseline, @dawufi is sole judge. $ButtTaps represents a new market creation protocol: prediction markets emerge from demonstrated liquidity in the feed rather than centralized decisions."
Bracky with a big ol' distribution to max holders. "...a fundamental shift in the way prediction markets can distribute value."
You wouldn’t blink if both 6 seeds flipped places with the 1 seeds.

One of the reasons I can never quite think of anything when someone asks the "what would you tell your 18-yo self?" question is that I believe the process of making mistakes and then correcting is how we actually learn and develop. Let's take overthinking for example. I'd be willing to be that those of us spending a lot of time in a word-based social network have suffered from this more than the average person. What you develop in the process of overthinking, even when it goes too far, is: a sharp eye micro details; a keen instinct for macro patterns; a rich language; an active imagination. These are all very real, valuable things, which can enrich your actions. But at some point we do need to learn to act with the proper pace. It is challenging, but being sick of watching less insightful people shape the world is the proper motivation. If you were always inclined to act first, think later, you will also develop your own great skills: the confidence that comes from knowing you can not only succeed, but figure out failures; the instant leadership authority that comes from this confidence; and a highly developed network, since nothing builds trust more than actually doing things together. But "overacting" can likewise lead you to underdevelop the parts of you that get activated during overthinking. You watch people being right about the big picture more often than you, or from sweating details that you didn't, and how it ultimately burns you and elevates them. If you don't want to rely on a counselor, you need to learn how to self-reflect and think more deeply. A happy and successful life blends these two abilities, and they get blended not bc someone told us a phrase, but bc leaning too far in one direction for too long made us really suffer, and we knew that only the medicine of the opposite way could fix us. This is the way to balance yourself with conviction. So the only advice I would have for any person (18 or otherwise) is: It is never too late to change yourself... The best parts of your self will come along for the ride.

Here's the Bracky Max holders who premined the Final Four teams. (@brixbounty sitting on 125,000+ shares of Ole Miss 🤪)
Dear Farcaster, For me, I'm sure I will always look back on 2025 as the Year of Bracky. (I didn't know that would be the case actually. Bracky was conceived on Dec 31, 2024 and shipped on Jan 11, 2025. Phewwww.) It has been really fun building this product out together over the years, with Farcaster(s) at the very center of what we're doing. Farcaster's sincere combination of social space + builder culture/tools has pulled a product out of us that I believe is going to make a mark on the world. It's social, it's unexpected, it's exciting, it's positive sum, and it's just getting started. Thank you sincerely, Merkle team + Farcaster community as a whole for a busy, positive, and memorable year. I'm extremely excited to win together in 2026! 🪩 ❤️ - Tim
I'm excited for this next day. I'm very excited for this next week. I'm very very excited for this next year. I'm very very very excited for this next decade.

Sunday morning… @brixbounty is working the Twitter replies to “Bracky pill” people. Farcaster built different! (PS - the best thing you can do for sales is give people a killer product. I’m hyped about the stuff we have coming out for Bracky twitter soon. We are going to innovate there until we WIN 🤝)
Farcaster is the best place to build your app. 1. Build with Neynar 2. Get your first real users 3. Clank an Appcoin to fund Unreal stack!

A quick* update on $bracky: Building on Farcaster has given our team a priceless gift: The gift of genuine conviction that we have a product which high quality users actually enjoy, come back to, and like telling their friends about. We are now working on distributing that product into new social spaces. Everything we've worked on for a year has been consciously structured so that @bracky could help us grow by being able to "live in any social feed". That's been the vision. Why live inside social feeds? People do not need more single-player sports betting apps. That's what everything out there does – whether a betting company or a prediction market. What is actually differentiated is using sports betting not as an end in itself (that leans dystopic) but as a tool to facilitate more social connection and engagement in the the sports events we can all be a part of (highly positive sum). Less like a video game, more like watching the game with your friends in the basement or even being in the crowd at a stadium. We plan on Bracky living in many digital spaces, but in the near term our focus, outside of Farcaster, is on Base App and Twitter. Base App is super interesting bc it (1) composes with Farcaster and XMTP and (2) there are net-new crypto users on Coinbase App proper. Base App's challenge is the same as Farcaster's (converting and harnessing the new growth) Twitter is appealing bc it's just an absolutely massive distribution space. You can actually go "viral" there in a way that is viable for retail products. They also have a base of crypto friendly users ("Crypto Twitter") that is theoretically helpful as a friendly foothold. The challenge with Twitter is the culture – feels like Mad Max postapocalyptic. Thread Markets on X are our first move in figuring out how to create the pockets of social signal that make Bracky feel as fun in other places as they do on Farcaster. So far they have been very positive start. We want to double down. (Side note: If you know accounts on X who have 10k+ followers and like sports, I would love a warm intro!) It may be a grind to unlock this new behavior — the path of discovery and acceptance takes some effort and iteration, but it is the kind of thing where the reward is commensurate with the difficulty. It’s important to stay committed and stay optimistic while we give it a go. There are other social spaces that are exciting to us – basically any place that already has social context and allows automated accounts / applications: telegram, discord, fb messenger, world, even iMessage. I would love to work on them all simultaneously, and they also are useful to have as backup plans if any spaces turned adversarial to us – but right now we believe most in Base App and Twitter as the next concentric circle outside of our Farcaster nucleus to work on and win. Everything we ship will be addressing ways we think we can really move the needle in winning in these spaces: being discovered by new users; creating a fun and retentive experience; having something worth talking about to their friends. And each space has a unique social topography. We’re not really thinking much about handle, fees, etc. It's about creating great experiences in new social spaces. I laugh when people look at us as "just another gambling thing". There's plenty of those already. What does not exist is a product that brings the most fun part of sports – being a part of something bigger – into the digital spaces where we spend so much of our time. That's something worth unlocking. *oops
@bracky made Today's News on X! any boosts for our guy are appreciated :) https://x.com/tldr_x/status/1988233359613382964?s=20
My top advice to appcoin builders: 1. Make your token enable a product. 2. Have a big, clear vision for your product. 3. Be honest with holders that product -> price. (I explain these in last 5 min of this vid.)
My Farcaster 2.0 Thesis. The best way for FC 1.0 (social feed) to become FC 2.0 (social wallet) is *not* for us to be more like "wallet users"... It's to stay exactly how we are: + Build stuff + Use stuff + Have fun + Listen + Learn + Yap These are what other wallets all lack, so they'll make FC wallet richer.
🚧 FYI - One of Bracky's onchain providers is having known issues, and it means that sometimes Bracky app's display of your balance will jump up (or down) to a previous value. Things to know: 1. Everything onchain and in your trade activity is actually correct. (You can check this by putting your Bracky wallet address into basescan.org) 2. Issue is usually cleared by refreshing. 3. We can't control this issue ourselves. Thank you for the patience as we work through this :)
Some advice to avoid getting social hacked: Ideally, don’t take inbound meetings without a trusted referral. If you do take an inbound meeting: 1. Require them use *your* meeting provider of choice (eg Google or Zoom) 2. Ask them to turn their video on. 3. Do not download *anything* from them under any circumstance. Two people have tried to scam us in the last few weeks. Very elaborate, but sticking to these rules rebuffed them pretty easily. I expect this stuff to increase with our token value. Crypto not awesome in this way. But it’s hard for people to do much to you if you control the terms of the environment. Be a little paranoid.

The best article ive read on the current state of AI! Hard agree on all 10 pts. Everybody wants to prognosticate about AI, but the actually interesting question is: What can we do *right now*? I have never seen anything like this technology. It is a literal superpower. But how to build it into productive experiences begins with acknowledging its current constraints as much as its abilities.
@bracky — strategic question for you. farcaster has a new feature that allows others to bid on your casts to collect them as 1-of-1 NFTs. Would you like the bracket team to enable this feature for you so that the community can collect casts of yours?
It’s 5am in Berlin, NBA Finals just ended. Sound on in video: That’s thunder rolling in background…⚡️ Two months of incredible basketball ends with a summer storm breaking the oppressive 100 degree heat of last couple days. Congrats @garrett Valiant @degen-chad Good work @bracky
“@bracky is for everyone.” Over 40 languages have been used to book sports bets on Farcaster! The possibilities are huge.
My 2c on Airdrop-Selling drama: + I worked with Merkle on an Airdrop. They didn't impose their criteria on us, they helped us to set *our* critieria. + Therefore, I think many people are mistakingly taking Dan's comment as a threat "from Dan" when, in fact, it is his observation of what Airdrop Teams will decide for their self-interest. + And I'd say Dan's point is directionally correct – giving airdrops that seem likely to be insta-sold is less appealing to Teams than the opposite. + However, selling does *not* have to overwhelm all other criteria. Eg, if someone is a power-user of many apps and tokens like @tricil.eth, this may be more important to a Team than whether he sold a drop or not. tldr: Dan's point clearly has merit, but Airdrop Criteria is a unique decision made by each Team (not by Merkle!)
@bracky has recently become aware of information concerning @tldr’s Manhattan residence during his previous employment. Following these revelations, @tldr has decided to part ways with @bracky, effective immediately. We want to assure our community, partners, and stakeholders that @bracky’s operations and assets remain unaffected by this situation. This matter relates solely to activities that occurred prior to his involvement with our organization. Our team is implementing an immediate transition plan to ensure continuity of all operations. We remain fully committed to transparency, integrity, and delivering exceptional sports prediction experiences to our community. We appreciate your continued support and trust during this time.
@bracky — sell all my positions except for Garrett/tayyab

Remember how much most of Farcaster was worried about / scoffed at / looked down on / doubted early $degen? (I do, bc I felt that way.) And remember how quickly we changed our tune once $degen succeeded and got attention? And how it helped the network to a big growth moment? ^ This experience makes me much more humble about casting stones. Instead, I prefer to be open minded, give things a little time to play out, and — most importantly — do what I can to help out the builders who I believe in… with whatever they happen to be trying!
🚨 ATTN: If you are not following this Florida team (and their Coach @jrs who is basically live-streaming it on Farcaster!)... Then you are really missing out on something wholesome and special!! Get onboard! 🐊🐊

A Farcaster Founding story. 13 months ago (Jan 12, 2024), we recruited our first Bracket Testnet players for this new, experimental sports game. We attracted casters by sponsoring $25 /channels of NFL teams. These super fans collected other fans to their channels, the group of whom became critical mass for Bracket games. *ff 12 months* A striking % of those very first users – recruited in this manual way, which already seems antiquated – have grown into some of the most core parts of our community. @purp and @cojo.eth spearheaded funding 10M $degen prize. @itai and dynamic power our bracket wallets. @redbeard and @nickmorgan got us huge support at Coinbase. @javabu.eth won our first brackets and is a big onboarder. @qt and @garrett invested / advise. *ff to today* Our NFL bracket was run *entirely* on FC (frames!), powered by the native token of our AI agent @bracky, with 13K TxnUsers. @leohenkels dropped his $bracky winnings to that /eagles channel we created back in Testnet. Awesome place.
